BPC 10.1 Unified vs Classic Model

Dear BPC Friends
Which are the benefits to implement the unified model to justify the additional cost due to the implementation of SAP Hana?
If we decide to implement the unified model we could have the possibilities immediately to implement the currency conversion and in the future the intercompany elimination using the business rule of consolidation?

currently we are working on NW BPC 10.1 unified model.
while adding owner property in BW system for work status we are getting below error.
"Characteristic owner is not mapped to any attributes in the SAP HANA model."

we applied that note.
We have few doubts while creating work status and BPF.
Our dimension is /ERP/COSTCNTR, so we have added ZPERF and ZREV attributes in ZCOSTCNTR and we have implemented BADI BADI_RSBPCB_SETUSER (enhancement spot RSBPCB_SETUSER).
My doubt is while creating ZCOSTCNTR infoobject do I need to take a copy of /ERP/COSTCNTR? I am getting short dump while doing this.

BPC 10.1 Unified Model - Is it a must to have BEx query to create an input form/report?

Dear All,
Have a cube(Unified) created in BW 7.4.
To create an input form using that cube(unified), Is it mandatory that I need a BEx query for the input form/report?
i.e. To create an input form/report in BPC 10.1 Unified environment using a Unified model, is it a MUST to have a BEx query in place? Or, can I create an input form using 10.1 Unified model without BEx query using 10.1 Unified model?

Hi Peri,
It doesn't matter what you include in the rows and what in columns or free characteristics: think of it as a sub-cube of the original cube. You are basically listing Dimensions you need in a group of you reports and can add new measures.
In BPC report you'll arrange them on the screen, format, protect, etc.
So, some of it is a repeat (not all tho), but for different purposes.

I understand that BPC 10.1 Unified model does NOT support Comments. Is there any way we can add comments capability? Any help on this would be appreciated.
I believe Comments are an important feature for both - Planning and Consolidation applications. There should be an alternative way to do this.

What version of CUCM are you using? Have you considered the free Informacast version that you get with 9+?

I think this is working as designed... using the 'auto answer' as an intercom is kind of a fudge.

BPC 10.1 Unified Environment

Hello Experts,
My client has some questions around unified environment.Please help me understand it better
1) If we have a bpc model exactly same in classic environment and an unified environment,Will the model in unified environment be faster in performance.If yes then why so?
2)How difficult will be to migrate the development from a classic environment to unified environment?Will it be a total new development or there is a migration tool?
3)I understand that bpc script is replaced by fox script? Is the fox script ready to use or it will come in future?
4) Will the foxscript be faster than bpc script?
5) Will the reports run faster in unified environment?

Is iTunes12.0.1.26 compatible with iPad classic model mc293 version 2.0.4?

Is iTunes12.0.1.26 compatible with iPod Classic model mc293 version 2.0.4?
I cannot get this iPod to accept any songs from the latest iTunes version. When I connect it to my MacBook the message "Connected Eject before disconnecting" shows and stays there. An on-screen message appears on the MacBook which says:
"iTunes has detected an iPod that appears to be corrupted. You may need to restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. You may also try disconnecting and reconnecting the iPod"
I have done these things but they make no difference.

Do a clean (re-)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Do not remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Note : My SAP system is AWS free server of AS ABAP 7.4 SP5 incl. BW on SAP HANA SP7,it will get BPC 10.1 unified version by default or not.if it will get how i will access.
We have done chapter 2 and 3 every thing in installation guide, but EPM add-on didn't installed.
IN SICF that services i didn't find out.is there any other post steps for getting this services.so please help me.

They have not upgraded it, unless your definition of "recently" is different from mine. But it's the same price and specs as it was over a year ago, maybe even before that.

Issue with Work status in SAP BPC 10.1 Unified Model

Hi Everyone,
I am are tying to setup work status functionality in SAP BPC 10.1 Unifed Model. But I am not getting any dimesions to select in the Owner dimension dropdown in the BPC Web Admin.
Is there any pre-requiste for setting up work status in Unified Model. Is there any document related to it? Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Hi Ramanathan,
Had the same problem when I began using 10.1 Embedded.
In BW you need to identify which infobject will be used as the "Owner Dimension" to control work status, access, etc.
To this infobject you must add an attribute to contain the string (userid in BPC) of the owner. The name of the infobject can be anything.
I used 0ORGUNIT as the "Owner Dimension" control infobject and added attribue ZBPCOWNR. I maintained ZBPCOWNR with the userid's.
This is the value to be entered into Owner Property:
HOWEVER, this will not be presented until the Owner Dimension contorlling infobject has a HIERARCHY! The hierarchy must have at lease one leaf node.
Once I added the attribute, maintained the attribute, and added the hierarchy I was presented with my choices in the dropdown boxes.

How to have classic model of presentation (no decorations) in a report ?

Hello Everybody,
When I create my report in Repot Builder 6i, I choose 'Anybody models' at the end of the wizard.
But it makes me some beads and drawings in Paper Design when I execute.
Now I want As much as possible classic report with nobody shaping and drawings , unique color in the fund of the report.
How must I process to have this ?

Ipod classic Model M9282LL not syncing with itunes 10.6.3

My older ipod classic ver 3.1.1 purchased after 2005 will no longer sync with itunes. When I use to log it in itunes would auto open up and begin syncing. Have not done it in a while. Using an older mac ver 10.5.8.. Have i tunes 10.6.3. Cannot afford a new computer with newer updates and if that is the case I feel its wrong...

I fixed it. I changed ports on back of computer. There is a sync symbol on back of the older mac so I thought that was the only one to use, so tried another. my motto: Just keep at it and you can figure it out. Also with all the info via the internet its like a do it yourself library out there and the helpful ideas is fantastic.

BPC 10.1 Unified - error when selecting a planning function

Hi BPC experts,
configured planning function in BW-IP.
Opened EPM Add-in, went to data processing tab to look for the planning function, Found it but when tried to select the function got the following:
epm error: object reference not set to an instance of an object
I did some research and it seems that this error seem to appear for multiple reasons so I am just wondering if anyone seen this error in this context.
tested it further with as many planning functions I found in BW and got this error message every single time.

Yes, any current iPod classic will use the volume control and track skipping features. The voice memo feature should also work with the integrated microphone in the remote.

Is it really too much to ask for one with a larger SSD drive and possibly wireless sync capabilities? Admittedly, since I got a Sonos the iPod has been relegated to the office but I still use it most days. What else would you like?
