BPC 7.5 SP09 - Dimension Not Found

Hi Everyone,
Since installing SP09 on BPC 7.5 we have not been able to maintain any dimension members or open the excel client. A dump is generated when you open admin console click on any dimension and go into the maintain dimension member area (excel with admin console) once in there, when the process dimension member is pressed the system dumps with Dimension XXX (whichever dimension) Not Found. A related problem which occurs is that the excel client timeouts with an OLE error as I don't think it can find the dimension members (as in with the admin console problem). Not sure if anyone has come across this before in another versions of BPC 7.5 or if anyone has installed SP09 and has issues.
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
Regards
Paril

Hi Paril,
Can you try with the following steps:
1. In BPC Admin: Click on Refresh client-side dimension files.
2. In BPC Excel: Goto -> etools -> client options -> Clear Current view -> clear local application information -> refresh dimension members -> refresh dynamic tempates.
3. Process all dimensions and do Full Optmization.
Also for BPC Excel issue, you need to check Add-ins option if it has not been disabled.
Logout and login once again.
Hope this resolves your issue.
Rgds,
Poonam

  • SAP BPC 7.5 SP6 on Win 7 x64bit & MS Off 2010 - Path not Found errors

    Hi,
    We have currently started a test group of 16 users to test Win 7 before migrate the entire company. Some of the test users are in Accounting and they use SAP BPC 7.5 for their Budget and Forecasting. We have Win 7 x64 bit and MS Office 2010 installed. For one user, after logging into the Production server for BPC he opens the report library and he is unable to get certain macros to allow for different changes within the excel spreadsheet. For example, there is a section that asks him to change the company name. When he clicks on the field to do so it says "Path Not Found".
    Another user when he tries to open up a report, he gets "Loading Dimension information..(Customer)" then a popup comes and says File not found. We have tried to uninstall and reinstall BPC on the new machines to no avail.
    Any help you can provide would be great. If more information is needed, please let me know.
    Thanks,

    Hi Lakiasha,
    Could you re-install .NET 2.0, .Net 3.0. .Net 3.5 framework on the machines and check the results.
    I guess you may need to upgrade your BPC server as well as client version to SP8 ( minimum) to work with MS office 2010.

  • 'dimension attribute was not found' error while refresing the cube in Excel

    Dear All,
    Thanks for all your support and help.
    I need an urgent support from you as I am stuck up here from nearly past 2-3 days and not getting a clue on it.
    I have re-named a dimension attribute 'XX' to 'xx' (Caps to small)in my cube and cleared all dependencies (In Attribute relationship tab as well).
    But while refreshing the data in excel client (of course after processing the full cube) I get an error
    'Query (1, 1911) the [Dimension Name].[Hierarchy Name].[Level Name].[XX] dimension attribute was not found' error.
    Here I am trying to re-fresh an existing report without any changes with the new data.
    Does not it re-fresh automatically if we clear the dependencies or there something that I am missing here (Like order of the dependencies).
    Cube processed completely after modifications and able to create new reports without any issues for same data. What else could be the reason?
    Can some one help me here?
    Thanks in Advance and Regards,

    Thnaks alot Vikram,
    In se11  ,when i was trying to activate the  /BIC/FZBKUPC , it is showing the warnings  like
    Key field KEY_ZBKUPCP has num. type INT4: Buffering not possible, Transport restricted.What it means.
    In PErformance Window it is showing like:
    A numeric type was used for a key field. A table of this sort cannot be buffered.When buffering, the table records for numeric values cannot be stored in plain text.
    Procedure
    You can enter "no buffering" as an attribute of the technical settings and then repeat the activation process. The table is not buffered.
    If you want to buffer the table, you must replace the type in the key field by a character type, i.e. that you must modify the table.
    Please adivice with your valueable suggestyions.
    Thanks Vikram.

  • "File not Found" error in the admin console for dimension

    Hi All,
    We are onto the BPC7 MS version and recently we have started facing an error "File Not Found" while trying to access the dimension members from the admin console.
    I have checked the "adminapp" folder where all the dimension files should be placed in the system, the files are present in the folder.
    The mbr<DIMENSION>  tables are also present in the database and have the members intact.
    I have also tried with processing the dimensions (NOT processing from the membersheet) and it goes successful, but still face the same "File Not Found" Error.
    We have a single appset and a single application.
    Regards
    Raghav

    Hi Sorin,
    Where can I check the File path if it is set incorrect?
    I am recieving this message for all the dimensions, even when I click on the "maintain dimension members", try to process or even try to copy them i have this pop up showing "file not found".
    I have the dimension tables intact at the DB servers and they have the members in them.

  • Http status 404: Not Found Error in BPC Admin

    When opening BPC Admin, click on Manage Security, Manage Applications, Application Sets, etc. receiving an error message - The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found.
    At this point we can not add users or import data.

    Dear Mike Formica,
    Please make sure you have installed the BPC Admin on your PC first. If you've installed, you could use the BPC Admin without SAP Web. You can see the file .exe in the directory "C:\Program Files\BPC" and click the file name "OsoftAdminMain.exe" and please make sure again you have the admin privillage in SAP BPC.
    Thanks,

  • BPC Transport - variation in dimension tech name.

    Hi,
    After transporting the appset to Qa it is observed that one of the dimension ENTITY the technical name is different from Dev and hence the transport failed with RC 8 in Qa with error "InfoObject /CPMB/XXXXXX does not exist in version A",
    InfoObject /CPMB/XXXXXX not found, Failed to create dimension attribute.
    This appset is already available in target system and we are transporting the same into Qa.
    Want to understand how come the technical name would be different from Dev to Qa? if at all new dimension is created by deleting the existing dimension then when we collect the appset in TR then all the new objects have to be moved to Qa and should replace the older one or add a new one - iam not sure how does it happen in BPC.
    All the necessary transport rules have been followed.
    does some one faced this issue?
    Regards

    Hi,
    If you recreate the dimension then the transport would fail with the error return code == 8. This has been fixed in SP04. The note which you specified address this issue (Note: 1357520).
    Probably you may try something like this:
    If you are doing the transport to Dev system if the Dimension already exists on the Dev system. The probable solution could be to this is to delete the dimension from the Dev and then do the Transportation. But deleting the Dimension would affect the cube data.So before deleting the dim its better if you take the backup of the cube data and the once the Transportation is completed , then you can reload or import the data into the cube through data manager. And if the Import fails then please run the UJS_ACTIVATE_CONTENT with just Activate Appset option. You may try this.
    Also if you have enabled the Audit Activity then you may try checking the system reports and see if someone might have worked on the dimension which is in question.
    Thanks and regards

  • Validation- RUN_LOGIC:Data for category  not found in application T_SALES

    In BPC NW 7.5...
    I set up the validation business rules to check that Account A = Account B. When I run the validation package through DM, I got the error that stating RUN_LOGIC:Data for category  not found in application T_SALES. I have 3 members in my Category dimension: ACTUAL, FORECAST and PLAN. The same error appeared even if I hardcoded the category member in the script logic:
    *RUN_PROGRAM VALIDATION
    CATEGORY = %T_CAT_SET%
    CURRENCY = %RPTCURRENCY_SET%
    OTHER = [ENTITY=%P_CC_SET%]
    TID_RA = %TIME_SET%
    *ENDRUN_PROGRAM
    Do you guys have any clue on the error?
    Thanks in all advances,
    Yen Li

    Hello,
    this error isn´t about category dimension.  The system checks if all needed dimensions exists, and if not it gives this error. You can use debug to seach for the dimension in fault.

  • UJK_VALIDATION_EXCEPTION:Property value not found

    Hi All
    I am getting below error when executing script logic.
    UJK_VALIDATION_EXCEPTION:Property value not found.
    I got Entity and Intco as properties in my dimensions (entity and intco dim).
    *WHEN Z_PARTNERCO
            *IS <> PCC_DEF_CC
                  *REC(FACTOR=1,Z_COSTOBJECT=[Z_PARTNERCO].ENTITY,Z_PARTNERCO=     [Z_COSTOBJECT].INTCO,EB_DATASOURCE ="Matching")
    *ENDWHEN
    Any ideas

    Hi Satish,
    that a script works on BPC MS, doesn't automatically means it also works on BPC NW.
    Since you don't specify the dimension Z_COSTOBJECT nor Z_PARTNERCO in the XDIM_MEMBERSET, the logic will try to fetch the properties for all members of these dimensions. When you don't maintain the properties for all members the logic will not work.
    I advice you to make a specification in your XDIM_MEMBERSET for the dimensions Z_COSTOBJECT and Z_PARTNERCO so you know that the properties are maintained for the selection you try to fetch, or you have to maintain the properties for all members of your dimensions Z_COSTOBJECT and Z_PARTNERCO.
    But first i would suggest that your try the logic in the logic tester integrated with BW.
    Run transaction SE38 in the basic screen of BW and than run UJK_SCRIPT_LOGIC_TESTER.
    This will give you a possibility to run your script in a simulation, this way you can test the script first with only one member from which you know the properties are maintained to see if it works.

    Thanks all, It was an oversight. A very silly mistake and I took a lot of your time, sorry about that.
    I had the folder structure set as "hide known file types". And I named the file with an extension import.txt assuming the file's name is import and the extension is .txt. That was the error and that is why epma-batch-client could not locate the file called import.txt in the E: drive while the file name was actually import.txt.txt.
    I fixed that and now it runs fine as expected.

    Hello Gurus,
    I have a couple of calculation views in HANA and each of them has text fields (like Employee Name, Country Name etc.).
    As part of my project requirement, I have join those two views and get all the fields that exist in them.
    When I am doing so, I am getting a weird error as shown below.
    Error: [129]: transaction rolled back by an internal error:  [129] transaction rolled back by an internal error: exception 141000274: exception 141000274:
    TRexUtils/ParallelDispatcher.cpp:275
    message not found; $message$='TSR HTKD JFSDFM'
    Please check lines: 59,
    Upon, researching further, I could see that the value 'TSR HTKD JFSDFM' is the value in text field of Employee Name.
    I did try to increase the length of the field and change the data types but nothing has worked.
    Could you please help me in getting this one resolved.
    Thanks,
    Raviteja

    Hi,
    I am exactly facing the same issue:
    Error: [129]: transaction rolled back by an internal error:  [129] transaction rolled back by an internal error: exception 141000274:
    But i found a fix :-) .....
    This may be a very late reply but it would help people who desperately searching for an answer for this issue.
    I used CAST function .. The problem is, we are selecting data from table and of course we dont know the size of the data (attribute) @ runtime. We assign the length by looking at the table attr length or view op attr length. But what happens is the junk data which exceeds the limit of the allocated space hence we get this error.
    So i used CAST function to truncate the excess junk values (may be spaces).
    Example:
    I have a ATTR view of date in the format YYYY-MM-DD which means 10 char size.
    In my CALC view I have created date OP column of VARCHAR(10) but I get the above error for no reason. Eventhoug i am 100% sure about my ATTR date would be max of 10 char my CALC view is failing @ runtime.
    So i did a CAST on date as CAST(my_date as varchar(10)) and the magic happend. It works .......
    But you need to be careful in using this because if you use CAST you may lose data. Careful. In my case i dont.
    Somebody from HANA team should look at this issue from SAP and solve this. I am sure it is a serious bug from HANA (eventhough i am using SAP HANA SP09 Rev 92 the most latest as of today !!!!!!!!!! )
    Enjoy....
    Thanks & Regards

    public class JournalApp {

    }

    Bet you're trying "java JournalFrame" when you need to "java JournalApp".
    Couple pointers toward good code.
    1) Use white space (extra returns) to separate your code into logical "paragraphs" of thought.
    2) Add comments. At a minimum a comment at the beginning should name the file, state its purpose, identify the programmer and date written. A comment at the end should state that you've reached the end. In the middle, any non-obvious code should be commented and closing braces or parens should have a comment stating what they close (if there is non-trivial separation from where they open).
    Here's a sample:
    // JournalFrame.java - this does ???
    // saisoft, 4/18/03
    // constructor
      private void jbInit() throws Exception {
        this.getContentPane().setLayout(borderLayout1);
        radioPanel.setLayout(gridLayout1);
        statusPanel.setLayout(flowLayout1);
        textAreaPanel.setLayout(gridLayout2);
        buttonPanel.setLayout(gridLayout3);
        personalButton.setSelected(true);
        personalButton.setText("Personal");
        personalButton.addActionListener(new JournalFrame_personalButton_actionAdapter(this));
        businessButton.setText("Business");
        status.setText("");
        entryArea.setText("");
        entryArea.setColumns(10);
        entryArea.setLineWrap(true);
        entryArea.setRows(30);
        entryArea.setWrapStyleWord(true);
    } // end constructor
    // end JournalFrame.java3) What would you expect to gain from that inner class? It might be more cool, but would it be more clear? I give the latter (clarity) a lot of importance.
