BPC 7.5 Supported Systems.

Hello guys.
We are in the process of installing 7.5 on our dev environment.
I have searched service.sap.com/pam and they only note Server 2008 and SQL 2008 as recommended.
Are Server 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2 compatible as well?
Thanks
Rgds

  • DB Connect supported system

    Hi
    We have following system landscape:
    1. BW system running on Windows NT and MSSQL.
    2. External system runs on Sun Solaris (Unix) and Oracle.
I want to pull data using DB Connect.
    I found from help"
"A basic rule for DB Connect is that those only BW application servers can be supported with operating system versions, for which an SAP Database Shared Library (DBSL) has been released for the BW database and source database."
Note: 518241 speaks about only installation of Oracle client on BW server.
Not sure if DB Connect will work in my case coz I have heard that Unix is not supported..(not sure abt it)
Can you please help me with it. Do you have an idea if I can use DB Connect for this landscape or way I can i find that out.
    Thanks in advance,
    CD

    Hi,
if you install the ORA client on BW the application server(s) as well as the SAP DBSL for WinNT/MSSQL, this should definitively work....
first install the Oracle Client, setup the TNSNAMES and everything working; I mean, at the end you should be able to fetch Oracle data from your BW application server using SQL+ for instance.
then install the SAP DBSL on your appl server.
Finally setup your DBConnect source system with a correct Oracle schema (user)....
let us know how it goes...
    hope this helps...
    Olivier.

  • Ticket support system raising better customer support for ecommerce

Customers will want to know more about your business and purchase your product. Most Internet marketers and business owners believe that having a ticket system helps in managing customers and support.
By raising support ticket system, customer service team can locate the status of customer queries each time, immediately whenever they want. It is a logical and organized approach towards problem management and troubleshooting. It is ability to view & support tickets, support multiple language, synchor emails and tickets, updation and tracking of tickets, customized click sidebar, a variety of inquiry forms to choose from, FAQ knowledge base, and intelligent reports. Besides, support ticket software are usually equipped to manage groups of operators working on a huge volume of customer requests.
The fact of the matter is that this system can save a lot of time and money of your company. If the customer faces any problem, you have to be equally adept in handling such situations. Here recommend iKode Helpdesk for 30 Days Free Trial!

Most likely an IT ticket system, where people create tickets
when a problem arises, and the IT tech/dept receives the ticket and
    reacts appropriately.
I do not know of a pre-made system like this, however it
would take little programming to set this up. Build it into a web
app for easy company distribution. Then create a form that inputs
the user's name, department, and problem. If able, use CFMAIL to
notify your tech team when a ticket has been filed. Else, you will
have to keep a meta refresh page querying from a ticket database to
    show new tickets in realtime.
We do this at my agency and CFMAIL has been very useful. We
get a somewhat large volume of support calls from unplugged cables,
printer toner changes, to broken apps. The ticket system allows us
to better manage the immediate problems from the ones that can
wait. We still take urgent support by phone because sometimes,
email just isn't fast enough! :)

  • Does BPC 5.1 support separate Group/Currency dimensions for Legal?

    Hello All,
I see in the documentation that I have for BPC 5.1 that currently the Legal Application does not support separate Group & Currency dimensions for Legal Consolidations.  Does anyone know if this is still true?  If not, is there new logic/documentation of this somewhere?
    Thanks,
    Michael

    Hi
BPC each application can have only one rate dimension and normally its currency but for legal consolidation we use Groups as rate type dimension and where you can include you currencies also.
The reason being the LC copies the numbers to groups first and then consolidate and similarly it uses same logic to convert into different currencies hence you can use same dimension for both.
Else create user defined dimension for currencies which would make life miserable.
    Thanks and Regards

  • BPC MS version (support packs)

    HI friends,
I have seen 4 support packs sp00,sp01,sp02,sp03 for BPC7. Which one is better stable one as one of our clients interested in that. As well 3 support packs sp00,sp01,sp02 for BPC5.1?  I don't have knowledge on support packs.
    Raju

    Hi Raju,
we strongly suggest that you use the most recent support packs, which are SP04 for BPC 7M and SP10 for BPC 5.1.

  • BPC 5.1 support

    Hi,
It it my understanding that the Support for OutlookSoft 4.x and SAP BPC 5.x will expire by the end of March 2010, is this true?  If so does this mean that no more patches will be released however we can still log support calls with SAP?
    Kind Regards,
    Fiona

    Hello Fiona,
Your statement is indeed true. With Customer Specific Maintenance (CSM), customers receive similar maintenance services in accordance with their maintenance contract with some restrictions:
    1. No bug fixes, no legal updates, no support for new technologies like database or OS updates, no SLAu2019s for IRT or corrective measures, etc.
    2. If an error is not known (i.e. there is no existing Note that documents the problem) it is considered new and further processing will be regarded as consulting services and subject to charge.
The process for logging incidents is the same, the team that handles the incidents is the same, and maintenance fees are the same as in Mainstream Maintenance
For complete details on CSM and the impact  to customers please see Note: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/52505

  • BB Poor service support system

I bought Blackberry curve 8520 from Jareer store, Alkhobar, Saudi Arabia. I
unable to setup my personal email id in the phone because there is no option to set
up my email id. As per the catalogue there must be two options. One option
is for Blackberry server and another is for our own personal email id. The second option is not available in my phone. I tried to solve by myself by getting the support from Blasckberry technical support. Sent email, but NO RESPONSE. There is no system to send my complaints. All ready made answers which is not covering my question.
I went to Jareer bookstore to enquire. They said we have to enter in the black=
berry bundle with any service provider like STC or Mobily. Then only we can
get this options. To enter in to their package we have to pay SR 99 per
month. This is not advertised or informed or mentioned anywhere when we puchase the device. This is not fair. I feel like I am cheated. Also I can not get any other alternative email service or settings for Jawalnet from STC because Blackberry is not even listed in STC recoganized device list.
Now to get email and other internet service either I should enter into the blackberry bundle  which will cost SR 99 /month which is very expensive for me or else I should buy another mobile. For other company mobiles no need of any fixed package requirements. We can get the Internet service from the carrier on per usage chargable basis.
So, I am totally DISAPPOINTED of purchasing a Blackberry phone. No support, No service backup. No transperancy. This is my experience.
    Is there any solution ???

Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Support Forums.
It appears to me that you received perfectly correct techinical support, advising you to ge the BlackBerry Data plan on your mobile provider account.
The fact that you don't like that answer, does not mean that is poor or not helpful.
The need for a BlackBerry Data Plan on your device is mentioned quite frequently, at least on this website and carrier websites that I see. Perhpas you did not do your research thoroughly enough.
Anyway, now you know your answer. Good luck.

  • BPC 4.2 Support documentation

Does anyone have details for BPC 4.2 maintenance support?  I know my mainstream support expired on 31 March 2010, but I'd like to see actual SAP documentation to support this.  I've reviewed the Product Availability Maintenance document, but only found details for 7.0/7.5.
    Thanks,
    Nathan

    Hi Lindsay,
Mainstream Maintenance and support for the 4.2, 5.0 and 5.1 releases of SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation (formerly OutlookSoft) expired on March 31, 2010.
Customers who continue on those versions automatically move into Customer Specific Maintenance per standard SAP Policy. So support is still provided on those products, but the scope of support is different.
For information on Customer Specific Maintenance, please visit: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/52505

  • When will updatemanager support system with zones

Anyone aware when SUN updatemanager will support patching sol 10 systems with multiple zones ?

Its my understanding that the first official release should support zones as well.
Note that it seems that you can use the update manager together with the regular tools, they only suggest that you shouldn't use them at the same time. In other words; in theory you should be able to use your current tools for supporting the zones, and the update manager to do the rest.
Personally I wouldn't take the risk and wait for the official release.
