BPC 7.5 Uninstall

Hello Experts,
        Thinking of un-installing BPC 7.5 from the Windows 2008 R2 server (to re-install again).
        I assume its just as simple as go to control panel and uninstalling it.
        Does it remove the registry entries automatically or do I need to manually remove it from the registry?
        Please suggest.

Hi Ravi,
Once you uninstall the bPC 7.5 from your server all the registry files are deleted at max but there some temp file created in My documents folders which you need to delete manually before reinstalling it again.

COM Component problem with BPC Excel

Hi!
We are using BPC MS 7.5 service pack 3 version. Microsoft Office 2007
On one of our client machines we got problem when trying to enter BPC for excel,nothing appears and something is downloading showing Installing COM Component from http://activex.microsoft.com/objects/ocget.dll site. And after a while Excel is shut down.
It´s the same errro entering from Launch Page or Log on from native Excel.
We have already tried uninstalling and installing BPC client and uninstalling and installing Microsoft Office on this specific client machine with the problem.

Installed 5.1, can't uninstall now

Tried to cancel the install of 5.1, now can't remove it. Click add/remove programs to remove and get a message that it is already installed... Does anyone know what I need to do to remove the partially installed program?

There should be one or both programs listed in your window's Add/Delete Program section:
u201CSAP Business Planning and Consolidation Administration Clientu201D and/or
u201CSAP Business Planning and Consolidation for Office Clientu201D
Windows should allow you to delete one or both using standard windows functionality. If you can not, I suggest you attempt to reinstall one or both BPC programs then uninstall them using Add/Delete.

How to uninstall BPC 7.5 on Windows Server 2008 R2

Hello Everyone
I have to uninstall BPC 7.5 and then perform a re installation as the Domain Name was wrongly specified in previous installation. We already have a BW server installed and on top of it the BPC 7.5 Installation was carried out.
O.S: Windows Server 2008 R2
D.B: MS SQL Server 2008
Could someone please suggest me the best possible way to uninstall BPC server without harming BW system? Kindly reply.

Hello Everybody
I ran Server-->Diagnostics and found that there were 2 errors:
1) SAP Server Connection->Database Connection->Status:Connection Error
2) Message Queue-> Queue Name: Private$\BpcStatusMessageQueue>Status:Incorrect>Possible Reasons->BPC WebServer or IE Proxy cannt work.
I have .NET 2.o installed and the value of "Enable 32 bit applications to run on 64 is set to True". I checked for users BPC_SYSADMIN, BPC_Admin, BPC_USER are all able to login to BW system. Also the value of message queue under private queue is same as the one Private$\BPCStatusMessageQueue.
Where do i need to check for logs for these errors.Could someone suggest how to resolve them.

Cannot uninstall BPC 7

I cannot uninstall my BPC. it terminates during uninstallation,
error number: 0x800A005B
description: Object variable or with block variable not set
setup will now terminate
also, i cannot open server manager,
error message: component 'Osoftservermanagecontrol.ocx' or one of
its dependencies not correctly registered:
a file is missing or invalid
is there another way to uninstall BPC?

It seems the installation of some components was not done properly and because of that you haqve all these errors.
You have to delete BPC folder and you have to delete also the follow registry keys:
Hkey_Local _Machine - Software - Outlooksoft
All key Hkey_Local _Machine - Software - SAP AG - SAP Business Objects Planning and Consolidation ...

Uninstalling BPC fails - Reporting server error

Hi,
I am uninstalling BPC 75 SP06, as recommended I deleted all folders related to the tool such as:
Control Panel - Uninstall clients and Server
C: - PC_MS folder
desktop shortcuts
C:> docs and settings > administrator > my documents >PC_MS
C:> SAP Business Objects
After this, I installed again the tool but the error "Cannot COnnect to reporting services server, check your server information".
I havent changed anything !!
Also trying to access to Reporting services inside SQL shows this:

Thanx for the response.
The Reporting Service is running, I installed it as "default installation" and everything seems to be ok, the Configure Report Server console shows everything green even Database Setup. Im using just 1 user (default and administrator) because it is a local machine however I rtied to performs a test in the Database Setup tab and I selected "credentials type - windows , account name - administrator , password - xxx"   and it shows "there was a failure applying your change" it seems that the user is not appropiate and I have no idea why.
I tried to reinstall Reporting Services but it doesnt seem to work, I have no idea what to do, please help.

Uninstall SAP BPC 7.0

Hi all,
I have problem uninstalling the SAP BPC 7.0 on Microsoft Platform.
When I uninstall through Windows Add/Remove Component, the wizard
stuck at the Removing Sample OLAP database?
Any idea what am I missing out here? Is there a uninstall guide I can follow?

Or the unistall user is not OLAP administrator.
Or uninstall user doesn't rights to delete databases from SQL.
Or apshell was not created during the installation and the system is looking to delete the database but this doesn't exist.
Or installation was bad and connection to OLAP and SQL is wrong.
I think if you kill the process and remove the key registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE- SOFTWARE - OUTLOOKSOFT then you will be able to continue your process or to reinstall.
Please open also a OSS message to be sure that we will trace this issue.

How to uninstall a service pack BPC 5.1 SP09 and revert back

We are planning to upgrade from BPC 5.1 SP03 to BPC 5.1 SP09 on our test servers and would like to develop a backout plan incase we need backout this new service pack. Does anybody have any ideas on how to do this?

Unfortunately, support pack of BPC is foward-only packages. There is no option to uninstall specific SP or rollback. I like to suggest to use some image making tools such as Norton ghost.
However, you may have to backup your appset also. Because some of support packs have database related changes such as table design update as well as stored procedures.

I do not think there is a document or given steps to uninstall BPC client in slient mode.
The only thing we can get a hint from the installation, it seems to introduce MS installer and it has a parameter of uninstallation in silent mode. Forgive me I cannot give you all detail step, and just provide where you can get a hint.
1. Go to Start button in your desktop.
2. Launch "RUN"
3. Key in "Regedit"
4. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive
5. Navigate the key until you find UNINSTALL: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\UNINSTALL
6. You may find UNISTALLATION command string with GUID for BPC Client.
7. I think you can do trial and error with a parameter of uninstall of MS installer.

Several items incorrect in note 1482402, manually uninstall BPC 7.5

The gist of this note is correct, since it is basically the same procedure as for previous versions, however, details are wrong:
The installation directory is referred to as c:\BPC when it is most likely c:\PC_MS
The screen shot shows deleting a folder from C:\Program Files\BPC, but the document says to delete the folder C:\BPC.
Maybe this note shoule be edited a bit so it is not misleading to people who have not seen this procedure in the past.

First of all you check your system, wheather it is applicable to your sytem. Component existing in OSS note should higher than your system, then only you can upload.
tell me the exact your requirement.
if you want to apply OSS note, you first download to your system. then go to Tcode SNOTE>Goto>Upload OSS note.

BPC 7.5 Web Administration / Set App Params asks for AntiXSSLib 1.5

Hi. We have now installed BPC 7.5 in our test environment, but are facing a problem.
According to the installation guide, we have installed Microsoft AntiCross Site Scripting Library 3.0 on our app/web-servers.
But when trying to enter "Set Application Parameters" in the Web Administration tool, we get an error quite not expected:
Any ideas of why it asks for v1.5, which were used by BPC 5.1?

You are having a problem with you AntiSssLibrary.dll. Either it is not installed correctly or it is corrupted or in the wrong version.
You can take the following steps to ensure that you have a fully functional version of the Microsoft Anti-Cross Site Scripting Library:
1) Download the Microsoft Anti-Cross Site Scripting Library V1.5 from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=EFB9C819-53FF-4F82-BFAF-E11625130C25&displaylang=en
2) Uninstall the current version of Microsoft Anti-Cross Site Scripting Library and remove any AntiXssLibrary.dll file from your server;
3) Install the version that you have downloaded from the MS website;
4) Copy the AntiXssLibrary.dll file from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Corporation\Anti-Cross Site Scripting Library V1.5\Library\.NET 1.1\   (Make sure that you're copying from the .NET 1.1 folder, not 2.0);
5) Paste it under your \BPC\Websrvr\Web\bin folder and restart IIS.

Error Processing "Account" Dimension in BPC 7.5

I am having difficulties processing the account dimension from the Admin function. I can not save to server or process dimension. I get the following log error message. This is impeding my ability to add or change account information. I recently was on maternity leave for 3 months and I am not sure if it is a combination of inactivity coupled with a new PC? We are running BPC 7.5 on a SQL 2008 server, and I wanted to check with the blog before Uninstalling and reinstalling the BPC osoft 7.5 application.
Previously, on my old laptop, I had this capability, and I can run and process all the other dimensions in our list via the Admin feature. I have also tried to refresh dimensions via the BPC EMP add in, and that seems to not throw any error logs, so I am unsure as to what my next step should be.
Plesae advise if I need additional updates to this new computer or if anyone else has seen this error message.

if you're unsure that your PC isn't well configured please verify this with the 1678822 - Third Party Software Support Matrix For BPC for Microsoft 7.X, 10.X
Then run client and server diagnostic to see if there are problems.
If all ok the dimension file could be corrupted so please change the name of your xls dim file and try to export your dimension, process it and see if ok, if not check the property in the xls dimension file with the modify dimension property in admin console.

Upgrade to SAP BPC 7.0 with cluster system (Front-End & Back-End)

I have to do an upgrade document about an outlooksoft 5.0 SP2 to SAP BPC 7.0 SP4 in a cluster system.
It has 2 front-ends (IIS cluster windows) & 2 back-ends (SQL Cluster).
We are going to do first the migration in 1 node, and then in another. The first upgrade in the first node I understand. I uninstall outlookdoft 5.0, install SAP BPC 7.0 SP4 and then restore the backup of the Appset, and do the posts upgrade action of the Dimension TIME.
But in the second, what do we do??? I uninstall outlookdoft 5.0, install SAP BPC 7.0 SP4 and then what??? Do I have to restore the backup of the Appset again???
I need help.

Hello,
On the second cluster node, you have only to install the software, nothing related to the appset. If you alreay run the migration stepts for the appset, all the information are into daatbase and file server.
However, the normal behaviour is to make the installation on the both nodes, make the basic tests to validate the installation and then proceed with the appset migration.

SAP BPC 7.5 Client, Silent install but with progress bar, can it be done?

Hi All,
I need to uninstall the BPC 7 Client and then deploy 7.5 to around 250 users accross the country.
We have SCCM (SMS) in place so will be using that.
I have the uninstall of 7 sorted and I have the response file etc sorted for the silent install of 7.5 and the install runs, silently, no issue.
Is there a way though that one can "turn on" the progress bar during the install? So that users dont shutdown or disconnect in the 15min it takes the install to run.
By way of example, in the SAP Business objects enterprise client on can configure the Silent install so that although it never prompts the user for a reponse there is a progress bar that runs, indicating that there is an install in progress.

No worries, I am using a pop up countdown so the users have some idea on progress. Would love to know why the install runs for over 15min.
In the above case the uninstall was easy as we had deployed using MS AppV so it was just a case of deleting the advert in SCCM and the application was pulled from the users desktops.
For 7.5 I am using a vbscript with following to uninstall:
The install string pulled from the clients registry uninstall folder:
RunCommand Chr(34) & "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{EC8753EF-EE78-48B5-A4D0-FBBD237B5D53}\setup.exe" & Chr(34) & " -runfromtemp -l0x0009UNINSTALL -removeonly"
We create a custom link, so this deletes it.
DeleteFile "c:\Users\Public\Desktop\SAP BPC 7.5.lnk"
You should be able to create something similar for 7.0 & 7.1

SAP BPC 7.5 Installation Error

We got a requirement to install the SAP BPC 7.5 on top of fresh machines with SAP BI 7.02 for our customer. As a part of installation and configuration process i have downloaded the SAP BPC Patches and installed on top of BI 7.02 with enhancement pack 2. created a new apshell Apshell whcih is default. the server was included in a DOmain XX. I also craeted the Dot Net server with domain user and which was included in admin group successfuklly. i was able to see the dot server manager diagnoistic green and successful. Now the real confusion starts.
1. After installation of BPC DOT NET server on Windows 2003 server wich was already included in the domain now when i ca access the server http://localhost/osoft which is taking me to the screen sap bpc console and givig me a couple of options like
1.Interfact to word
2.interface to powerpoint
3. Interface to excel
4.Interface to web
5.Administration
when i click on administration it is taking me to second screen where it is askig me to select Appset in a small popup windows. There i dont have any popup to select where as it is leading to empty screen where there is no popup. when i click on ok then it will lead to again the main screen it have all the options interface to word,powerpoit etc..,
I am really confused where i am missing ad whether i need to do anything else more for the same.
I also see lot more in the installatio guide like select apshell.db9 etc where i am unable to see that option. i no where saw the file with name apset. I also saw in the some blogs and installation guide saying that to select the option install on top of mssql2005 where as i didnt see such an option anywhere.
Can any one guide me o this where and what i am really missing.

Hi,
This is one of the most common error I encountered during my recent BPC Project . This can be solved by the following ways.
1.Please check the authorizations ( make sure to have full admin authorizations for the Apshell) .
2.Make sure to Re- install both admin & client tools (check the Diagnostics and uninstall re-install both admin & client tools once.)
