BPC 7.5 Upgrade - Unary Operator Issue

We have been performing a large upgrade from a previous version of the software and are looking for some help on some of the issues with the upgrade. One of the issues we have been having is that some of our dimensions were using the property "Unary Operator" to have parent members ignore certain child members in their values. We have seen in 7.5 MS that the unary operator doesn't always perform the same and in one instance wouldn't allow other hierarchies to even roll up at all. I guess what i am looking for is a way to have the same affect (limit some children members from rolll up) that Unary Operators had in previous versions, in 7.5. I had looked at other forums and seen that dimension formulas were used to filter out the child members but i was wondering if there were any other viable options.

Hi Kenton,
as Nilanjan wrote if you have a hierarchy all the children will be rolled up to the parent, so works the OLAP.
If you some parents don't correspond to the sum of his children then you must propcess the application to align the parent with the children.
If you don't want to sum some children you must create another subparent with only the children you want or create a dimension member outside of the hierarchy using the dimension formula, but remember that this valur is not memorized, it's calculated during the evdre, that means that a lot of dimension formula will reduce the performance.
Kind regards
     Roberto

  • BPC 7 EvCVW Filterlist different operator issue

    Hello,
I am testing BPC 7.0, but I have an issue with the Filterlist properties of the EvCVW function.
When i use the filter option with the = operator it is working (ie: CALC=Y), but with the different operator nothing appears
Before in my version 4.2, the filter option was working properly with the Different operator.
Does anyone have a solution or a feedback to this issue?
    Thanks in advance
    Alexis.
P.S : Sorry The different operator can't be displayed in this forum ...
Edited by: Alexis Roy on Jun 9, 2009 4:42 PM

    Alexis,
The "Different Than" operator should work with EvCVW.  When I have used it I've written it out like:
    =EVCVW(AppName,Dimension,"calc=Y;group<
    >cost center")
Does this help at all?  If not, can you write out what your formula looks like?
    Thanks,
    Keith

  • SharePoint 2007 performance issue after upgrading the operating system

We upgraded the operating system of our SharePoint Server 2007 from 2003 to 2008 R2. After upgrade we rebuilt the SharePoint using content DBs we backed up before upgrade. All settings is same except that we moved the DBs to new SQL servers. Now users are
reporting performance issue with sites. I experienced it myself some of the pages takes 9-30 seconds to load. Also our SharePoint server is single server. I monitored the SharePoint Server and it is fine. I did fiddler trace and here are the result. I see
lots of 401 (login failed) errors then 302 (redirect) then 200 (OK). Do you know why we are getting 401 errors?

    Hi
when you request a  Site collection (http://domain/) or a Site (http://domain/foo/) of your Publishing Site you get redirected to the http://domain/Pages/<WelcomePage>.aspx. SharePoint 2007 uses the 302 header (location temporarily moved) for
this purpose. Surprisingly even WSS uses the 302 header to redirect a root url to the default.aspx. In comparison ASP.NET uses an internal redirect to render the default page when the root url requested: there is no redirect in this situation.
Check the link which can give more input
    http://blog.mastykarz.nl/sharepoint-2007-redirect-solved-using-301-instead-of-302-redirects/
for error 401 you can check this link
    http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/97027-no-resources-401-unauthorized/d
and check SharePoint ULS logs and event viewer for any exceptions.

my copy of 4.1.2 appears to work under 10.6.8, though i have not done extensive tests

v4 is pretty lonh in the tooth now, and GB only costs $15, so I'd think it's a good idea

the only version you can buy new is v6,a nd it should open older projects without issue ... however you could keep 4 around:

All my photos in the iphoto have disappeared, not sure if this related to any iphoto upgrade or other issue, tried to find the photos through the finder (JPG or photo) but failed, can you help me to get back my photos please?

Help us to help you: There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on seven different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary from version to version and OS to OS. So before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
    - Did it ever work properly?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.
Posts that consist of "iPhoto doesn't work. Help" or "iPhoto won't print" or "Suddenly I have no photos!!!!!!!!!!" mean that any helper is simply guessing. More information means you get better assistance. (And no, more exclamation marks do not get help faster or make your issue seem urgent. They just make it seem like you have a stuck key )

  • HT1338 can i upgrade my operating system

i have an iMac 10.5.8. having recently purchased an iphone 5 i found that i could not connect to my itunes library using my new hone as it needs t use the new version of itunes.
i checked whether i needed to upgrade my software & system states that it is fully up to date. having discussed the issue im told i need to upgrade my operating system on the imac before i can download the new itunes.
what exactly do i need to upgrade to?

You need to purchase the 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Operating Disks, as 10.6 is not downloadable.  You can purchase these disks from the on-line apple store - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard.
Also, make sure that your computer can in fact be upgraded to the newer OS version.  Check your computers model and year - https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do.
Once you know the model and year and you are considering upgrading to the current OS (10.8) ensure that your model is supported for the 10.8 OS - http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/.
Also if considering 10.8 - remember to ensure that all your other applications are supported by the new OS - http://www.roaringapps.com.
Snow Leopard System Requirements - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575.
Lion System System Requirements - Mac OS X 10.7 Lion System Requirements

  • HI, I recently upgraded my operating system IOS 5.0.1 on an iphone 3gs. MY question is, how do I get the text messaging preview to just pop up so that I can see the name only when the lock screen is on? The conventional ways of doing this aren't working

HI, I recently upgraded my operating system IOS 5.0.1 on an iphone 3gs. My question is, how do I get the text messaging preview to just pop up so that I can see the name only when the lock screen is on? The conventional ways of doing this, such as using turning off the SMS preview under the "passcode lock", well that option no longer exists, or if it does, I'm somehow missing it.
When I go to the "messages" setting under settings on my phone, I still don't see an option of turning it off.
If I can just get the name of the person sending the message, as I had it before, I'd be happy.
    Help!

That option still exists in Settings > Notifications > Messages > Show Prview (OFF) and View in Lock Screen (ON). Here's how to configure your Notifications and Notification Center for iOS 5: http://iphone-and-i.blogspot.com/2012/01/how-to-customize-notification-center-in .html

  • Firmware upgrade encountered an issue

Right now my Galaxy S3 is sitting at a screen that states "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue.  Please use Software Repair Assistant & try again."  Whenever I power on my phone, I get that message.  I've tried to do an Emergency Recovery in both Kies and Kies 3, but neither are able to recover, and the only way, it seems, to get the SRA is to plug my phone into my PC and get it from Autorun.  Since my phone is not leaving the error screen, I don't get the auto run option to install the SRA.  Is there any way to download it manually to get my phone running, or is it pretty much bricked and I'll have to look at replacement options?

I found a solution on the XDA forums site, but thanks anyway.  Looks like I just needed to run the Software Repair Assistant, which I'm a little surprised that the Verizon store I went to didn't have it on hand to attempt to fix my phone.  I got my device repaired, and it's working great.  Just really wish my Wiimotes worked in Android 4.3.

You can't. Nothing that runs under v10.1.1 can run 10.5.8.
No MacBook Pro can run under v10.1.1.
So something in your post is wrong.

  • I have mac os x 10.6.8 and I want to upgrade my operating system

How do I upgrade my operating system.

First, which OS do you want to upgrade to?
Here are some requirements for the OS X versions after Snow Leopard. See if your MBP qualifies for any of these.
    OS X Lion 10.7.5
    OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5
    OS X Mavericks 10.9.1
Mavericks is free. OS X Lion and Mountain Lion would need to be purchased and you would have to call Apple Sales (800-MY-APPLE  USA) to purchase a redemption code; then redeem it at the App Store.

  • I just upgraded my operating system on my MacBook Air and now my laptop won't detect my Toshiba 1T external hard drive

I just upgraded my operating system on my MacBook Air and now my laptop won't detect my Toshiba 1T external hard drive, how to solve this problem?

Try some of the troubleshooting steps outlined below:
    Troubleshooting an external hard drive
    > Unplug the hard drive, wait a few seconds, and then plug it back in
    > Restart the computer
    > Unplug any other peripherals from the computer
    > Plug it into a different USB port
If none of those steps work, see if it is recognized in Disk Utility.
Checking a disk with Disk Utility
To check a disk using Disk Utility, launch the Disk Utility application in any of the following ways:
    > Type the first few letters of its name into Spotlight. Select it from the results.
    > Go Launchpad > Utilities > Disk Utility
    > Go Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility
Once Disk Utility is opened, check to see if your external HD appears on the sidebar. If it doesn't appear at first, try the troubleshooting steps above again while leaving Disk Utility open, each time checking to see if the external HD appears.

hi, we are using mac mini's for our developement purpose. connecting the same through using Real VNC. Mac mini's are late 2009 and 2010. Now we have upgraded them to 10.8.5. after upgrading having display issues after launching the simulators, we are unable to view the icons we need to move the simulator (into different places) to view the icons.
Also we are having Mac book pro's (Late 2009 & 2010) after upgrading them to 10.8.5. Unable to launch the mac, getting only white screen with apple icon.
Let me know is there any specific Hardware (Graphic Cards) we need to use for the same.
Please provide me the early solutions.
    Regards,
    Suresh.

    Hi, try this first...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.

As long as you don't need all the bells and whistles of the iTunes Store such as Ping, and don't need to sync an iOS device running iOS 4.x, then iTunes 9.2.1 should work for you. It should be available via Software Update, but if not, you can still get it here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1056
but it would be best to upgrade your Mac to Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.6, since it's probable that eventually the iTunes Store will no longer support iTunes 9.x.
    Regards.
P.S. Mac OS X 10.4 was discontinued three and a half years ago, so yes, it's getting rather long in the tooth. Cheers.
