BPC 7.5NW: Hierarchy Upload from BW - Sort Order

Hi,
we are currently updating from BPC 7.0NW to 7.5 NW SP10. (BW has been upgraded to 7.02 SP09)
As master data and hierarchies had been uploaded using the coding from 'HowTo Upload automated...' so far, we now have to use standard Data Manger packages.
Maintaining packages and package links was successful. Everything works fine so far.
The only problem are Hierarchies, better the sort order of hierarchie nodes. At the moment they are always sorted in an alphabetical order.
We introduced property MBR_SEQ to all dimension using program UJA_MIGRATE_MBR_SEQ.
We loaded hierarchies with different settings.
Searching SDN and SAP Notes lead to notes 1603352 or 1581331.
But manually changing hierarchies each time, new members are assigned, is not an option!
Do I miss any option in the selection screen of the Data Manager package?
Are there any options in transformation or conversion file?

For your Information...
We were now adviced to include parameter DM_KEEP_SRC_SEQ with value Y in AppSet parameters (Web-Administration).
Please have a look at note '1626929 - Keep hierarchy sequence for Load Hierarchy from BW package'.
It works!
For the first hierarchy to be uploaded...
If there are more than one hierarchy defined for upload, only the first hierarchy is sorted correctly, all following ones are sorted alphabetically again.

Uploading using Bridge - Sort Order

Hi Folks,
I use CS3 Bridge uploader to upload from my CF card. I use the custom file name feature to rename the files. However, Bridge by default sorts the thumbnails from newest to oldest, based on the date/time data. Since I'm adding a sequence number as part of my filename, there's a disconnect between the filename and the date - most recent pics in the upload have lower sequence number than older pics. Any way to change the thumbnail sort order in Bridge uploader? Thanks,

Thanks very much for the reply. I'll give it a try - I think when Windows opens Bridge for uploading, the main Bridge window is bypassed, and the upload window (at least as I recall) doesn't have any of the panels displayed. I should have thought of that :-)

How to load master data hierarchy load from BI to BPC 7.5 NW

I am testing master data hierarchy data upload from BI to BPC. However when i run master data hierarchy mport package, it's always displaying a warning message saying that no records are returned from "Z_PFT_CTR" which is my info object name.
My transformation is as below.

Issue in Hierarchy data upload from R/3 for info object Product Hierarchy.

I am trying to upload the hierarchy data from R/3 system for Info Object Product Hierarchy.
Insted of business content info objects (0PRODH, 0PRODH1, 0PRODH2, 0PRODH3, 0PRODH4, 0PRODH5, 0PRODH6), we are using customized objects (ZPRODH, ZPRODH1, ZPRODH2, ZPRODH3, ZPRODH4, ZPRODH5, ZPRODH6).
In transfer rules the mapped is as specified below
Fields => Info Objects.
0ZPRODH1 => ZPRODH1
0ZPRODH2 => ZPRODH2
0ZPRODH3 => ZPRODH3
0ZPRODH4 => ZPRODH4
0ZPRODH5 => ZPRODH5
0ZPRODH6 => ZPRODH6
Now, when I schedule the Info Package, it is ending with an errors
"Node characteristic 0PRODH1 is not entered as hierarchy charactersitic for ZPRODH"

Insted of using the info object 0PRODH1, we should use customized info object ZPRODH1 which I added already in the external characteristic in Hierarchy.

Data upload from R3 to BPC using filters

We are facing a performance issue on the uploading data flow from R3 to BPC. Two steps have been set up.
Step1: R/3 --> ODS --> BW CUBE (No filters and full mode)
Step2: BW CUBE --> BPC CUBE (Standard BW upload package)
The first one (from R3 to a BW Cube) has no filters, so it loads every data and it takes too much time. However, the second one (from the Cube to BPC) has filtering options, so we can only load the data we need to (we usually use entity and time filters).
Both are executed from the BPC DataManager.
Any advice to improve the performance of the first step? Could we join the step 1 and step 2 and get the filters from the standard BW upload process using a custom process chain?
Does anybody have any experience using filters to reduce the amount of records on the data uploading from R/3 to BPC?

**I'm not quite sure how you are getting the above data from infocube.Are you directly loading data from PSA to infocube with out loading data into DSO -0FIGL_O10(General ledger(New):Transaction figures) ?
To get required format of following data, no need to do any thing while laoding the data into BPC. Your BI infocube should maitain the data in below format.
GroupAcc - Date - Balance
100000 - 12.12.10 - 100 - (LC)
100000 - 12.12.10 - 100 - (TC)
100000 - 12.12.10 - 200 - (GC)
To acheive above format of data in the infocube please follow standard way of data flow given by SAP in BI Contect(http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/e6/f16940c3c7bf49e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm).
Flow should be
R/3 --> PSA --> DSO -->Infocube.
In this flow its important to remember about infoobect 0CURKEY_TC in DSO.
This is always the currency key of the transaction currency; it is also filled for records with a different currency type. Without this key field, postings with different transaction currencies would be overwritten after summarization and thereby be lost.

Once you follow the standard flow, your infocube contains the requried format (LC,TC and GC )of data to load it into BPC application.

Using a variable in an allocation routine in SAP BPC 7.5NW

Below is a very simple BPC allocation routine I wrote. The data originally sits on a dummy profit center and needs to be allocated to all itu2019s relevant profit centers. These relevant profit centers can be derived from the profit center hierarchy (BPC_ + ID of entity).
When I hardcode the Profitcenter and the entity, the routine works (as below). But what I really want is that it works variable as in the line that I commented out. Any idea whether this could work (BPC 7.5NW) ? If not, I am afraid I need to go to ABAP, which is really a pitty

It works now. I have implemented the below code (ENTITY needed to contain the variable as well). The relationship profitcenter and entity is very important as it derives the relevant profitcenters from the profit center hierarchy (e.g. all profitcenters under the legalentity node).

BPC 7.5: Hierarchy load fra BW. Missing "parent" nodes.

Hi,
i'm having problems uploading a 0profit_center hierarchy from SAP BW to BPC.
My problem is that the load fails due to missing dimensions members on profit_center in BPC. The missing members is the hierarchy parents, which are not a part of the masterdata on the infoobject "0profit_center"
So for example I have a simple hierarchy:
Parent1:
-child1
-child2
-child3
Child1-Child3 are masterdata on (dimension members) on 0profit_center. Parent1 is NOT masterdata. So the load will fail due to the fact that parent1 is not a dimension memeber in 'BPC' profit_center.
Do I have to load the hierarchy table from BW to BPC (profit_center) in order to get the dimension members for the hierarchy ??

you need to use a formula to remove the spaces. Though not sure how to define it for hierarchy notes.....
The formula can be defined in the conversion file.
The formula is js:%external%.toString().replace(/s+/g,"")
And your conversion file should look like (transposed for reading purpose).:

How can i fix my mac book pro. My safari crashes all the time, my screen will turn black for no reason, My iPhoto crashes during upload from my iPhone, I can't highlight anything and I can't drag anything.

Someone PLEASE help me! I cant figure out what is going on with my computer. I don't install anything weird, but my brother does. He's very good at computer tech stuff and is in I.T, but I cant help but blame him for all the problems my Mac is having. Nothing works like it should. My safari will randomally crash, my screen will randomally turn back, my iphoto will crash during uploading from my iPhone, I cant highlight anything, I can't drag anything. When I want to click on something, I have to click over and over again just for it to even register. I know everything is up to date and recently reset my PRAM. I'm running Lion and have a lot of room on my hardrive. I have an external harddrive and I'm wondering if I should just move all of my important files over to it and completly wipe out my computer's hardrive and start from scratch.

Some folks can't leave well enough alone, and insist on downloading all sorts of additional "stuff" that ends up making their Mac unstable.
Standard Mac OS X on properly-operating Hardware does not crash, unless you start installing too many add-ons.
You can run "just the basics" by holding down the Shift key at Startup. This does one pass of Disk Repair, then loads a minimal set of extensions, and comes up in Safe Mode. If it works OK that way, but crashes in "regular", it's the add-ons.
There ia another layer of add-on junk that can be added to Safari. If the only remaining problem is Safari crashing, those add-ons can be disabled as well.

Can i import my library from an ipod that was formatted on my Mac to a PC. Will i be able to keep the music that was uploaded from CD's that were not itunes purchases?

My library consists of both itunes purchases and uploads from my CD's. My ipod was formatted on my Mac. I'm out of state and want to sync the ipod on a windows PC. Can it be don? Can it be done without losing the uploaded songs?

It cannot. Your iPod is a format that is neither readable or writeable by a PC. The only way to make it possible is to use some sort of third party software such as XPlay.

Transport of Security objects in BPC 7.5NW

As a part of NW BPC transports, changed the entries in table UJT_TRANS_CHG. For the 1st transport (from DEV to QA)wanted to transport ALL objects including Security and Teams. So, selected 'Development' for ALL objects under this table.
After the transport collection via tcode UJBPCTR and importing into QA, found that 'Users', 'Teams' and 'Task Profiles' did NOT transport. 'Member Access Profiles' did transport to QA.
I expected 'Users', 'Teams' and 'Task Profiles' also to be transported. We are on SAP BPC 7.5NW, SP4.
Am I missing something here ?

we had the same problem and didn't know if Security objects could be transported, but we found the BPC User Mass Management Tool.

This could help you to export the security objects in DEV and import the objects in PRD.
The transports you need for the ZUJE_MASS_USER_MGMT Programm you found on page 46 in the document mentioned above.

BPC 7.5NW Report Issues When Requesting Year To Date Data

Dynamic reports built with 2 row expansions (Cost Ctr, Account) up to 3 columns (not expansions, set to different categories with excel formulas for variance calculations...Act vs. Bud for example) result in error messages (error retrieving data and another related error messge) when requesting YTD data vs. Periodic data. The report runs fast and properly with Periodic measure. When running with the YTD measure, attempts to reduce the report data volume by removing comparative categories and removing formatting (after ranges) still results in YTD data retrieve errors.
Has anyone else had similar issues with BPC 7.5NW, SP9, and YTD data not pulling into reports? What are the common causes for issues with YTD data retrieval? Given the design by SAP of the BPC NW product and promotion of using BPC for both Periodic and YTD data, should I expect this report to work properly, meaning that I can get output with YTD data without long runtimes or errors that result in terminating the report? Hierarchy table sort order no longer required in 11.1.1.3?

Hi guys,
I am working on loading Dimensions through EPMA interface tables. Hyperion version 11.1.1.3. The sort order for the records was not in line with the hierarchy. Still the dimension got loaded without any errors. I remember in the older versions we would have to have the records in the hierarchy table in the right order for the metadata to get loaded properly.
Just wanted to confirm if this is a 11.1.13 version enhancement and not something that I am missing.

On the contrary, we have been working on issues related to NPE during its execution recently (fix will be included in JDev 11.1.1.4.0).
Could you create a Service Request in "My Oracle Support" and upload your sample ?

Have all sorts of problems trying to manipulate, add effects and saving most large files. I need some serious processing power. Can anyone suggest what Mac i should purchase? It sounds as if you're having some system-related problems now, unrelated to processing power as such. In particular, a buggy video driver can cause everything to slow to a crawl.
Medium format files are big, true, but not so big as to cause significant slowdowns on a normally functioning and reasonably current computer. A laptop will always be slower than a well-equipped desktop system, though. Mac vs PC plays no part in this, performance is unrelated to platform.
Bottlenecks are different in ACR and Photoshop, so that should give you a clue. ACR is computing-intensive and mostly limited by CPU speed. Photoshop, however, is mostly bandwidth-intensive and mainly limited by memory and disk throughput. It's also sensitive to GPU issues.

ABAP Dump while using "Upload from clipboard"

We are facing ABAP dump when using "upload from clipboard" funciton without any data on the clipboard.
"Upload data" is working fine if some data exists on the clipboard. If in case of no data on the clipboard, it is leading to an ABAP dump.
Appreciate if anyone could point some OSS note or any solution if you've already faced this issue.
This is happening in our BW system with SAP_BASIS "SAPKB62018" and SAP_ABA "SAPKA62018".
Same thing happens in our BW test systems which are upgraded to the latest support pack.

When you say 'We are facing ABAP dump when using "upload from clipboard" funciton without any data on the clipboard.', are you using this in a custom program and are you running your custom program in the background?
From the error you mentioned, to me it looks like you had a control error and controls are for foreground, online process and not suitable for background processing. Same argument holds good for most of the enjoy SAP transactions when you try to do BDC, they will give you a similar error if you hit the piece of code where controls are used.
Controls are created on the desktop of the user and in background this is not possible.
Please let me know if this is the reason.

Sort Order as per HFM Hierarchy

Hi,
I am in a situation, where I need to generate/export a hierarchy from DRM, ensuring members are in the exact order as they are in the upstream HFM application.
Is there a way to generate a sort order, or assign the sort order property values of members after loading them to the hierarchy.
Meaning, I want to manually change the order of the members in the hierarchy, and then have the sort order property take values based on the order of the member in the hierarchy.
Can anyone tell me how i can achieve this, or even create a derived sort order property which can employ such a logic?

Go to hierarchy properties for which you want node to have sort order.
give the property value for StandardHierSort as SortOrder.
Now run the automator to change the property SortOrder for each nodes.
You can set value as 1 for nodes you want first in extract then 2,3, so on.
Instead of running automator for each node, you can also create a derived property of type sort and use that in hier level property
