BPC Automatic adjustments Business rule doesn't take one DATASRC

Dear experts,
I have configured a group of DATASRC to be taken in consideration when running an Automatic Adjustment rule.
One of the DATASRC members inside called 'AJ_IFRS_S' is not taken, even thought it's exactly defined exactly as othercalled 'IN_DATA' that it's considered.
I've tried everything like:
- Process dimension DATASRC
- Put individual member in the rule instead than a group
Neither of them worked.
Any help or trace will be appreciated. Thanks in advance and best regards,
Antonio.

Hi Greg,
What kind of error/issue you are facing.

  • Business Rules Only Visible in One of the Two Planning Webs

    Hi all.
I have this issue with a classic Planning application deployed to run with the calculation module to Business Rules in v11.1.2.1. I have also load balanced EAS/APS and Planning servers but when I log into Hyperion Planning in one of the server and I check the available BR I can see them but if I go into the other Planning web I cannot. This is logging straight into the Planning Webs using the different servers names. Inside EAS I have done the necessary location, provisioning and cluster to be able to appear in both Planning webs but still not working.
Does anyone knows how to fix this problem?
    Many thanks
    J

The solution was to create a BR cluster within EAS and add both server locations into it
    I hope it helps

  • Business Rules Management when Base Members become parents

    Hi Experts,
This is a question for BPC 7.5 NW.
Currently the consolidation is being done at Grp Account Level.
Account Dimension members for eg are:
    ID        H1
    A         AA
    B         BB
    C         CC.
Automatic adjustments are configured against members A, B and C. Properties relevant to consolidation process are also relevant to configured against A, B and C.
Requirement is that consolidation be done at Account level from now on.
Account Dimension members for eg. will be:
    ID      H1
    A1     A
    A2     A
    B1     B
    B2     B
    C1     C
    C2     C
    A      AA
    B      BB
    C      CC
In such a case, will automatic adjustments business rules hold good for A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 which are already configured for their parents A, B and C?
If so, then will consolidation relevant properties have to be mapped to A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 too or only at A, B and C?

    Hi,
when you define business rules with property values these values must exist on base level members. In such a scenario BPC simply looks for values on accounts with the relevant properties which, if those properties are only defined on summation level members, it would not find.

    Arnold

  • Automating consolidation entries using business rules

    Hi all,
May I know whether it is possible to automate the following standard consolidation entries in SAP BPC using Automatic Adjustments Business Rules tables:
    1. Attribution of profit after tax to Equity Holders and Minority Interest;
    2. Appropriation of changes in post-acquisition Reserves to Minority Interest; and
    3. Elimination of parent company's Investment in Subsidiaries against subsidiaries' pre-acquisition Share Capital and Reserves.
The mechanics of these entries are:
    1. [Profit after Tax|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/] x POWN% -> post to [Retained Earnings|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/] and [Profit after Tax|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/] x Minority Interest % -> post to [Minority Interest|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/]
    2. [Post-acquisition changes in Reserves|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/] x Minority Interest % -> post to [Minority Interest|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/]
    3. Parent company's [Investment in Subsidiaries|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/] -> post to [Goodwill|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/], Subsidiaries' [Pre-acquisition Share Capital and Reserves|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/] x POWN% -> post to [Goodwill|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/] and Subsidiaries' [Pre-acquisition Share Capital and Reserves|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/] x Minority Interest % -> post to [Minority Interest|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/].
    The questions are:
How do I specify the Minority Interest % in the Automatic Adjustments Business Rules Table.
How do I specify that I am using Direct PCON% and Direct Minority Interest % for some entries and Indirect POWN% and Indirect Minority Interest % for some other entries?
How do I post one entry to the same level in the ENTITY hierarchy in which the ENTITY resides for subsidiaries and post the same entry to the immediate next higher level for the Parent Company in that level?
    Thank you.

  • Set of Business Rules - BPC 10.0 Consolidation

    Hi experts,
I´ll need help to work with two scenarios on BPC 10.0 (Consolidation) as following: 01- The scenario 01 has four entities: 1001, 1002, 1003 and 1004 and four business rules: ELIM01, ELIM02, ELIM03 and ELIM04. I need only rules ELIM01 and ELIM02 are performed for entities 1001 and 1002 and rules ELIM03 and ELIM04 are performed for entities 1003 and 1004. Is it possible in BPC? How can I do it? 02 - The scenario 02 has two entities: 1005 and 1006 and I´ll need to perform a set of rules with business rules ELIM05, ELIM06 and ELIM07 until 2014.03 and I´ll also need to perform other set of rules with ELIM05, ELIM06 and ELIM08 from 2014.04. In thi scenario I want to create a new set of business rules without the rule ELIM07 but I don't want to delete this. Is it possible in BPC? Can I work with two or more set of rules in BPC? How can I do it? Is it possible work with time dependent on set of rules?
    Thanks a lot! Madhuk

    Hi,
    01
The scenario 01 has four entities: 1001, 1002, 1003 and 1004 and four business rules: ELIM01, ELIM02, ELIM03 and ELIM04. I need only rules ELIM01 and ELIM02 are performed for entities 1001 and 1002 and rules ELIM03 and ELIM04 are performed for entities 1003 and 1004.
Are we talking about the eliminations and adjustments business rule? Those rules have an entity property filter which you can use.
    02
The scenario 02 has two entities: 1005 and 1006 and I´ll need to perform a set of rules with business rules ELIM05, ELIM06 and ELIM07 until 2014.03 and I´ll also need to perform other set of rules with ELIM05, ELIM06 and ELIM08 from 2014.04. In thi scenario I want to create a new set of business rules without the rule ELIM07 but I don't want to delete this?
Are we talking about the eliminations and adjustments business rules? They work based on the method based multipliers. So one possible solution would be to have different methods and therefore different method based multipliers in your ownership cube.

  • Business rules Q?

    Hi,
As SAP documentation says /Copy Open Balances' business rule is used to copy closing balances from last period last year into opening balances of this period. The same functionality can be achived by using 'Carry Forward' business rule. Then does anyone know why you should use 'Copy Open Balances' rule or am I missing something here?
    Thanks, John

    Thanks Peter for your reply!
Please excuse my ignorance about Consolidations process, but is 'CopyOpening balance' a required step for Consolidation in BPC? Also this business rule doesn't necessarily copy balances ONLY into current month. You can use it to copy balances from any-month to any-month.
You also brought up a point regarding YTD application. Whether it's Periodic or YTD application, it only affects how you would do P&L entries because balance sheet always seems to be YTD in either type of Application. Is my assumption right?
    Thanks again, John

  • Get cell value in Planning Data form and using it in a business rule

    Hi Everybody,
if i set the data type of an Account Member as text, is there a way to get the value inserted by the user in a dataform, turning it as dimensional member and using it in a business rule?
So, if the user insert the value "USA" in a cell, can i use any functions to tell essbase that "USA" is a dimensional member and then using it in a business rule, for example in a cross-dimension like Period1->FY12->USA?
I tried to use the function @Member and it doesn't work, but i'm wondering if there is a way that can let me get the value inserted and use it just like a dimensional member. What are the ways that can let user input value that can be used in a business rule? I think one is by using SmartList, is there any other ways? Maybe using variables?? As an alternative i tried to use Prompt Variable but there are too many members on which the rule must run.
Please help me, i wanna know if i can or not let the user input the member on which the rule must run...
    Thank all guys
    Bye
    Maurizio

    Thanks EW for your answer,
YesI could use SmartList even if i think it's very tough to handle. My experience on using SmartList in caclc script is not so good. I try to enter in details of my requirement:
    I have 500 account members.
For each one, I have to calculate the monthly budget by sharing the amount among the months. The user wants to calculate it on the basis of the actual flow(over the months) of an unspecified account of the prior year. The unspecified account must be inserted in a data form.
So, i could use a Smart List but it colud be of 500 elements and then i should make a rule with as many IF as how many are the accounts. Or im wrong? The only way to use smart list dynamically in a business rule is by referring its values in a IF condition. Or i'm wrong.
I tried to use execution variable ma it seems don't work. In this case the user must pay attention to write the account correctly, otherwise as you say the rule doesn't work.
The value in PD0A020 is "PD0A000" (that is a dimensional member). The value in PD0A000 is "hello". In PD0A040 the rule returns "PD0A000" and not "hello" as i would. The function @Member appears to be not able to catch the dimensional member by the value in PD0A000.
    {Example}="test"->"Input"->"Scenario_test"->"FY12"->"PD0A020";
    Fix("test1","Input","Scenario_test","FY12")
    "PD0A040"=@Member({Example});
    endfix
So, my doubt is: is it possible for Essbase/Planning to use the value inserted in a data form and to turn it in a dimensional member? What are the practicable ways to let the user input/choose the member on which makes the rule run?
Thank you Ew, thank you guys

  • Business Rule Library not activated

Hi, can anyone please tell me what drives the activation of Business Rule library?I am currently working on Consolidation of Investments and I have configured the dimension properties, application parameters as stated in 340.But my businessrules librray is not activated and hence I am not able to define the rules of consolidation.
    Edited by: 281642 on Aug 30, 2011 6:32 AM

    Hi,
Which business rules have you selected?
The business rules at the appset level are visible only if the automatic adjustment business rule is selected in your application.
    Hope this helps.

  • Opening Balances changes when running business rules

    Good morning,
We are experiencing problems with the opening balance calculation (Flow: F100) when running the consolidation business rules in BPC 10.1.
For example, in 2013.12, Entity 1111 and Account C_ENL_DIV, the ending balance (Flow: F900) is 180.000 euros. When we run the copy opening balance package, the opening balance (F100) for 12.2014 is 180.000 euros, what which is correct.
The problem comes when some consolidation rules are executed, for example, AU_DIVCTA. For the previous case, we can see that the opening balance changes, previously it was 180.000 euros, coinciding with the final balance of 12.2013 and now the cell is empty, what which is incorrect. This occurs for more than one business rule.
The definition for the AU_DIVCTA business rule, is the next one. You can see that this do not affect to the opening balance in any case.
We attached an Excel where you can see this and much more similar cases the definition for the business rule AU_DIVCTA:

    Hi,
Looks like the substitution variables its looking for are missing.
    Can you check that?

  • Upgrade Business rules with Calc Manager

    Hello Gurus,
Recently performed an upgrade from 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.2 by replicating the Database to a new database machine.
I had Business rules in 11.1.1.3 and did not perform any steps to migrate the rules to Calculation manager in 11.1.2.2
    The doubt I have is,
    1. Are the business rules automatically upgraded when performing upgrade by EPM system configurator (since the database is replicated)
    2. If so, how do I see the business rules in 11.1.2.2 environment? How can I use migrate feature option.
    Thanks
    HyperionEPM.

    From 11.1.2.2 documentation:
    Upgrade Wizard
If your application used Oracle Hyperion Business Rules, the Upgrade Wizard automatically converts Business Rules business rules to Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager business rules. Release 11.1.2.2 supports onlyBusiness Rules business rules as the calculation module.
    Notes:
•Classic application administration is now called Oracle Hyperion Planning application administration (versus Oracle Hyperion EPM Architect application administration).
•The Upgrade Wizard automatically upgrades applications having Oracle Hyperion Business Rules business rules, converting them to Calculation Manager business rules. However, the Upgrade Wizard does not automatically convert Release 11.1.2.1 applications having Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager business rules. For those upgrade instructions, see the Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System Installation and Configuration Guide.
Business Rules Maintenance Release and Upgrade Installation PrerequisitesIf you are using Business Rules, you must migrate to Calculation Manager rules in Release 11.1.2.2. Before migrating business rules, you must perform prerequisite tasks. Note that these tasks are required if you are applying the maintenance release or if you are upgrading.
To prepare to migrate Business Rules, perform the following tasks in your current Business Rules environment before installing Release 11.1.2.2:
1.in Business Rules, within the Rule Editor, remove the associated outline (that is, the design time location) from each business rule. After you do this, the Associated Outline drop-down list should display the text, Select Outline.
2.On the Locations tab of the Rule Editor, ensure that each business rule has a valid launch location, which must be an absolute location. Although “All Locations” is valid in Business Rules, when you migrate business rules, you must provide the details of a specific launch location (that is, the application type---Planning or Essbase, the server name, the application name, and the database or plan type). If you want a business rule to be valid for multiple launch locations, you must provide the details for each location. The locations must be in different applications; you cannot migrate the same business rule to different plan types in the same application within Calculation Manager.
If the rule is a part of a sequence, then the launch location of the rule within the sequence must be one of the launch locations listed in the Locations tab of the rule.
3.On the Access Privileges tab of the Rule Editor, ensure that each business rule has security defined for a specific location or locations and not “All Locations.” If multiple locations are defined for a business rule on its Locations tab, you must add security for each location individually.
4.Do not modify rules in Calculation Manager until migration is completed.
5.If you are using Business Rules with Planning, as a precaution, create a backup of the rules: Use Administration Services to export the rules to XML in Business Rules format. If you are upgrading from 11.1.1.3 or 11.1.1.4, also export the rules to Calculation Manager format. EPM System Configurator exports the rules during database configuration for use during application upgrade.
6.If you are an Essbase-only Business Rules user, you must export business rules. To export the Essbase rule from Business Rules:
a.From Administration Services Console, right-click the Business Rules node and select Export.
b.Export the rules in Business Rules format and then select all of the Essbase rules in the repository. If you are upgrading from 11.1.1.3 or 11.1.1.4, also export the rules to Calculation Manager format.
c.Specify the location to save the XML file, and then click OK. If you are upgrading, the location should be a shared drive that is accessible from the upgraded environment.
Make a note of the location. You import the file later in the process.
Migrating Business Rules to Calculation Manager for use with Planning
If you applied the maintenance release to move from Planning Release 11.1.2.0 or 11.1.2.1 to Release 11.1.2.2, and you were using Business Rules rules, you must migrate the rules to Calculation Manager rules.
Before you migrate, ensure that user directories and native users with the same SID are available when you upgrade Shared Services.
Ensure that the Planning applications are upgraded to the current release and are available in Calculation Manager under SYSTEM View.
To migrate Business Rules rules to Calculation Manager rules:
1.In Calculation Manager, select the migrated Planning application, and then select Migrate.
The data that was exported during database configuration with EPM System Configurator is imported to Calculation Manager.
    2.Repeat for each Planning application.
3.Deploy the rules from Calculation Manager to Planning. See the Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager Designer's Guide.
After migrating business rules and rules security, if any of the rules had multiple launch locations and you migrated to more than one location, Calculation Manager creates a rule for the first migration, and shortcuts for all subsequent migrations. If the rule had rule-level variables, for the shortcuts that are created in the application in the new environment , its variables are moved to the Plan level. In this scenario, test rules in your environment to ensure that they work as expected.
If you still have problems, raise an SR and we can get on a call to figure out why the rules are not coming over.

  • JDeveloper 11, Business Rules availability

    Hello,
I'd like to test Business Rules 11 functionalityfor our poject. What I've seen so far in viewlets looks a lot better then the Business 10 version. We are in the process evaluating what Business Rule Engine to take.
In JDeveloper 11 I'm not able to find Business Rules. Also SOA Application component types like BPEL and ESB are not available.
What do I need to do to test the 11 version of the Business Rules?
    Regards Léon Smiers

The SOA/Rules extensions for JDeveloper 11g are still not production - they will be later this year.
In the meantime you can play with JDeveloper 11g TP4 which has an early version of the 11g SOA parts:

(Note that you'll need to follow instructions in a metalink note to enable the SOA parts).

  • Interco dimension filter in Automatic Adjustments

    Dear Experts,
In the automatic adjustment business rule, I created a rule where i used the interco dimension as a filter (eg.  Intco=I_4109 in the "other dimension filter" or R_selection field).  However, when i run the legal consolidation data package, i am not getting the expected results.  It seems that the system is not reading the interco filter.  Has anybody experienced this problem?
    Regards,
    Grace

    Hi Sunny,
I have noticed this problem as well.
The validate option just does not work for extra added ORIG columns.
But the good news is.... if you save it, it will work.
The only penalty is that the validate option can't be used anymore... But hey.... who needs this option, we just don't make mistakes

  • Is there Business Rules Command Line launcher in Linux?

    Hi,
I have Hyperion Planning, Essbase, EAS and BR installed on Linux. I am trying to automate a Business Rule using Command Line Launcher, but couldn't find the shell script for it in Linux env. I know that there is a utility in Windows env, but was wondering if the same is available in Linux or not. If it is not, if someone could show me a way to automate Business Rules in Linux, I would really appreciate it.

  • How to group datasrc member in CarryForward Business Rule

    Hi Experts,
I want to group few datasrc members to be used as source datasrc in CarryForward Business Rule. Which property of Datasrc Dimension will show the grouping in CarryForward rules ?
For your information - i have DIMLIST, DIMLIST1, COPYOPENING, DATASRC_TYPE, OPENING_DATASRC with some values but none of these properties getting enabled in CARRYFORWARD Business Rule.
    Kindly help
    Regards,
    Samvir

    Hi,
You need to define this in the Group property of the Datasource dimension.
The GROUP :It is used to gather datasrc in six groups:  example:
    INPUT          Input datasrc
    STA          Standardization datasrc
    ELI          Eliminations datasrc
    C          Consolidation datasrc
    ICMATCH     Intercompany matching datsrc
    IC          Intercompany datasrc
I think,  for carry forward , you need not assign this in the group above. in the business rules of carryforward, need assign like this.
Source Account   Source Flow    Destination Account   Destination Flow Datasource Type
    BSDIM                     999                                                       100                     ALL

  • Problem with balance carry forward business rule and automatic adjustments

    Hi All,
I faced with issue when run BCF business rule and consolidation process. According sap courses BPC440 members with A(automatic adjustments) type should carry forward automatically, and I(imputable), M (adjustments) members should carry forwarded by bcf business rule.
When I set up my BCF business rule I use property "Category_for_ope" in Category dimension. But this rule not work properly, then I use notes:
1784365 - Category_for_ope property should not effect Consolidation.
1902677 - The property category_for_ope shall work for consolidation
After applying those notes, system work as I aspect. After i run consolidation first time system carry forward my automatic adjustment from Category "Expected" to "PLAN_Y0" and this is correct!!!. But when i run consolidation process second and third time system duplicated automatic adjustments in Category "PLAN_Y0".
Someone can help me with this Issue?
