BPC Multiprovider

Hi,
I have few modelling questions.
We created a BPC Sales plan application. This created in BW, BPC Multiprovider and BPC Infocube.
1) Can we create another BPC Infocube for ACTUALS that can be attached to above BPC Multiprovider ?
2) If I execute full optimize, it will change BPC PLAN INFOCUBE but will BPC ACTUAL INFOCUBE Remain Intact with MULTIPROVIDER ?

Hi,
1. Yes, you can attach ACTUAL InfoCube to BPC MultiProvider, but you'll have to do this in every environment because BPC MutiProvider is not transported, but generated.
2. You need Full optimization only if you have more than 13 Dimensions your Application. An yes, Full optimization is not going to do anything wit your ACTUALcube or MultiProvider.

Difference in Webi Report from BPC Multiprovider and BW Multiprovider

Hello Gurus,
I'm new in Webi but I have knowledg in SAP BI 7.0.
The problem is as follows:
BPC generates in BW some structures for its applications like Infocubes and Multiproviders.
I create an Universe from BPC Multiprovider. When I creted the Webi Document, I can not see the hierarchies or parenths associated to the dimension in the bpc application (Multiprovider y BW). To solve this I create a BEx Query to associate the hierarchy in the characteristc an create an universe from the BEx Query. The problem of this is that I have to create a BEx Query and universe for every single parenth in the bpc dimension.
Other test that I did was create a Z multiprovider from the BPC Infocube an build an Universe from it. When I create the Webi Documento now appears all hierarchy.
Is something like a difference between the multiprovider that generates BPC and the multiprovider created natively in BW.
Are there some corrections to fix the multiprovideres generated by BPC?

Prompt on BPC & BW Integration Scenario

Hi gurus,
we have a question about BPC (Netweaver version, 7.5) and BW (7.0) Integration.
We have to load transactional data (actual) from BW to BPC; how can we manage the selection of these data in BPC?The problem is that the user wants to load, for example, only actual data from January to May; how can we pass this selection to data transfer process in BW to automate the loading process?

It is certainly possible to load data to BPC using BW transformations and DTPs, just as it is possible to report off of the BPC multiprovider using BEx queries. There are certainly implementations that are doing both of these things. I am skeptical that it is wise.
I recommend against doing either of these things until SAP releases a note or documentation outlining supported integration scenarios. Until that happens, my understanding is that these types of scenarios are not supported and may be broken by future releases or support packs. This type of breaking change is probably unlikely, but certainly possible.
On the other hand, if a customer knows what they are doing and is willing to accept the risk, then there is nothing wrong with doing something like this. Rules are made to be broken after all

BPC 10.0 Technical ID of Multiprovider

Hej Gurus,
We made the first transport from DEV to PRD for about 18 months ago, and at that time there were no notes for stabalizing the technical names during transport. Therefore, The technical names of all the different objects in BW is now not aligned, and this gives a lot of problems.
We have managed to align the technical names of all models and dimensions, and we are now also aligning the technical name of the attributes. This is not a problem.
However, the multiproviders are also disaligned, and I would like to know, when this can become problematic? And if so, how do we align them? I cannot find any notes describing the multiproviders, but there are notes for all the other stuff.

I have not yet done anything, but we have a problem, because the technical names of the cubes in DEV and PRD are not the same at the moment.
I know the note you have pointed out, and I have imported it, and set the parameters as described in the note. However, when I run a transport, the technical name is not changed.
Do you know anything about the note, and have you tried to use it? Do we need to clear the cube before the transport to enable the aligning of names?
My idea of deleting the cube is just a result of not succeeding in aligning the technical names using the above note.

Yes it is possible to load data from multiprovider into BPc application using the DM package. Please make sure that you create the right transformation file and get it validated with the multiprovider from where you want to load the data.

Short dump MESSAGE_TYPE_X in displaying data from BPC Virtualcube

Hi Experts,
I am experiencing an error when try to display data from a BPC VirtualProvider Infocube (both from Workbench and with LISTCUBE transaction).
This kind of virtualcube is auto generated by BPC.
When I do some kind of selection I obtain this error: MESSAGE_TYPE_X
Short text of error message:
System error in program SAPLRRK0 and form CHECK_KHANDLE (see long text)
Technical information about the message:
Message class....... "BRAIN"
Number.............. 299
Variable 1.......... "SAPLRRK0"
Variable 2.......... "CHECK_KHANDLE"
I have another BPC vitualprovider and this doesnu2019t happen.
I would use this cube inside a multiprovider, that has a BI cube too, and get the data through a BEx query. But the query throws the error and stopped.
I know that there could be problems with BPC structures (i.e. changes in tech name when transporting it), but at the moment I donu2019t see other solution to compare BI to BPC data.
I went through other posts in sdn forum for this issue, but I am not able to get the exact solution,
please help

I read the note you have indicated.
For the first note 1479393: I donu2019t have hierarchies and the error appears in a different program to what is indicated in the note. This is where terminated:
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLRRK0" - in "CHECK_KHANDLE".
The main program was "GP4LQ7N6RS4RUB6HA69UREYGPKB ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 34
of the (Include) program "LRRK0F05".
Furthermore, there are no calculated measures nor members in the MDX statement, because I just try to display the data from the virtualcube.
For the second 1448691: yes, it could be a performance related problem. Indeed, when I apply stronger filters, the error doesnu2019t occur and I got the data. But the system is already patched to SAPKW70107.
So, do you have any other ideas?

1. Suppose every day delta records are coming in BI Infocubes and now we want to load delta records monthly into BPC infocubes. How do we achieve that in BPC ?
2. Actual Vs Plan reporting has to be done in BPC infocubes or a multiprovider needs to be created?
3. Is navigational attributes supported in NW BPC ?
4. Is it recommended to schedule a process chain daily in NW BPC?

Best practice is to migrate the Actuals into BPC so you can use the BPC reporting tools. You can alternatively migrate BPC data into BW, however there are a few areas that need to be addressed for this to be successful: 1) need to deal with sign reversal for account types INC and LEQ, 2) need to insure data is secure outside of the BPC name space, and 3) need to provide a solution for any dimension formulas being used.
3. Is navigational attributes supported in NW BPC ?
All BPC properties are generated as NAV attributes in the BW backend.
4. Is it recommended to schedule a process chain daily in NW BPC?
The answer totally depends on your process and business requirements.

Authorizations for WEBI report based on BPC data model

Hi All,
We are strugelling with setting up authorisations for the reporting on BPC data model.
We created Bex query on top of Multiprovider that consists of BPC cube. The Bex query is source for WEBI output. The authorisations has been set up on BPC data model (cube) in BPC application but they are not passed nor to Bex query nor to Webi. Example: The query is build on top of OPEX BPC data model, this data model is restricted based on Oranizational Unit. My test user is allowed to see only Org Unit = 'Australia' in the OPEX BPC data model, however when I'm running the report I can see absolutely everything.
We are not connecting/using any BI cubes itself for this reporting. We are intrested only in the WEBI report based on BPC data models.
We were trying to use BPC data model (without any extra settings) as the source for BEx report, we were also trying to use virtual BPC data model as the source for Bex transient query - but non of these have helped.
Can you please advise how the authorisations should be set up for WEBI reporting on BPC data models?

Transaction data from BI TO BPC : cube error

We are trying to load transaction data from BI to BPC ,now my requirement is does it possible to bring transaction data from BI Mulitprovider or SIMPLE Mulitprovider.

Hi Kumar,
I have implemented a design studio on top of a BPC model by enabling the "use a source of data" in the BPC Admin website - it creates a multiprovider (name /CPMB/xxx) and we can then create bex queries on top of it with some limitations (no currency convertion by eg.).
Design studio is managing this query as a standard BEX query - Only to display data ...

PS: Please pay attention with multiple systems as BPC objects can have different names when transported (attributes). All references of BPC objects in Design studio would be then incorrect.

Automate data load from BPC cube to BW cube

Hi Gurus,
I've got all my budgeting & forecasting data in BPC cube. Now I need to load it to a BW cube and combine with Actuals in another BW cube through Multiprovider and build reports on the multiprovider.
My question is:
What is the best way to automate the loading process of BPC cube data to BW cube ??
I should also be able to load the property values of BPC dimensions to the BW info objects.
The methods I followed are:
1. Run "Export" data package and load BPC data to a CSV file and run BW DTP/infopackage to process the CSV file into BW cube. Problem with this is - I canot automate these two steps, and even if I did, I cannot export property values to a flat file.
2. Build transformations directly from BPC cube to an Infosource and from Infosource to BW cube. Problem with this is - in the transformations I cannot use the rule: "Read Master Data". I may have to write a routine, but my ABAP is not good enuf.
Please help with an alternative solution

Thanks for the reply. I know I will have more options if I'm BPC 7.5 NW. But I'm on BPC 7.0 NW.
I managed to pull the attribute values of BPC dimensions using routines. But still it's risky because the tech names of BPC objects may change if one modifies the dimensions or run optimization.
It's a shame SAP haven't provided a robust solution to load BPC cube data to BW cube data.
I don't want to load BW cube data to BPC cube and depend on EVDRE reports for my 'Plan vs Actual' reports. I (and end users) always want to lean towards BEx reports.

Map BW attribute to BPC Dimension during transactional data load

I am loading the transactional data from BW cube to BPC Application. we ave functional area as dimension in BPC and the BW cube doesnot have Functional area. So we are in a situation to derive it . Dimensio Profitcenter of BW has functional area as Attribute. so we need to populate the BPC functional area with the BW functional area which is an attribute of 0PROFIT_CTR.

Hi Balaji,
Yes. Your are right that teh multi-provider does not store any data. It is like a view that displays the data from various data targets using union. LISTCUBE displays the data using those unions and displays the data. It is not fetching data from any underlying table of the Multi-provider. Probably if you debug then you would find the various SQL statements fetching data from the other data targets using the join conditions.
LISTCUBE is just meant for displaying the data from an Info-provider in the backend.
If you are familiar with R/3 then you would have noticed that you can see the data in table or view in SE11/SE16 even though a table has data where as a View does not. It is something similar to that.

Multiprovider report problem

Let me explain you the Multiprovider report with example .
Multiprovider is created based on Basic cube and DSO . Basic cube has Billing doc number in line item dimension .
DSO has Billing document number , Item number and Partner function as primary key.
I have Created one diemension on Multiprovider where I have assigned Billing document number , and other 2 data fields from DSO which are not available in Cube . Is it correct design ?
DSO have below records .. - Doc no , Item and PF are primary key of DSO .
Billing doc no      Partner function     Personal Number    Customer number
100                                 ER                                1
100                                 Y1                                                              555
100                                  Y2                                                              111
In Cube I have below records -
Billing doc no     Sales Org          Netvalue            Total sale

When I execute the report based on MP by partner function i should get below result.

Multiprovider is a union of infoproviders.So you can achieve the report you want by building a Multiprovider with the Cube and DSO.You have to assign the Billing doc no to both Cube and DSO during the craetion of the Multiprovider.
When you execute the report on the MP on Purchase Order, all the values of Billing doc no will be fetched from both cube and DSO(as MP is a union).
According you can set a filter to fetch only specfic data from a specific part-provider of the Multiprovider.
Also At query Designer level a InfoObject : 0INFOPROV will be available which will give and option to fetch the data only from a specifi part provider of MP if required.

Multiprovider display data issue

Hello,
I'm using BI7.0 and created Multiprovider using Custom DSO and Infocube1.
the problem is, when i use display data through multiprovider, I'm not able to see data from DSO .
I have considered all common fields from DSO and Cube and assigned in multiprovider.
basically I'm selecting all IO and Keyfigures from Infocube1 and few IO from DSO
some reason I am not able to see data from DSO when i view data through multi provider.
Please help me to view data from both cube and dso through multi provider.

Hi Ganga,
Please check whether there is any restrictions for the field 0PROVIDER. There may be restriction to get the data only from cube.
If there is no any restrictions then here may be your problem.
You need to maintain atleast one key figure in both targets.
Since there is no any key fig coming from DSO
please create a dummy key fig and try to check once again.
