BPC NW Availability

Hi, We are starting a planning project with Integrated Planning and Looking for more information on BPC. Is BPC NW an additional product we would have to have an expensive license for or is it just available as part of our environment like BW-IP?

BPC NW is a separately licensed product from BW. It entered ramp up for a limited distribution of customers in September 2008 and exited ramp up to become generally available to all licensed customers in April 2009.
Please contact your SAP BusinessObjects Account Executive to discuss about licensing arrangements. Thereafter, the software is available from the Software Download Center on the SAP Service Marketplace (http://service.sap.com/swdc).

BPC - Budget Availability Control

Dear Experts,
I am interested in knowing whether Budget Availability Check functionality is available in BPC. If not, then does it mean that when both SAP ECC and BO-BPC co-exist, the Budget Availability Control configurations are required to be maintained in SAP ECC through modules such as Funds Management, Internal Order or Project System.

Can anyone provide a specific answer on the possibility of having Budget Availability Check in BO-BPC. I understand that data has to be transferred from an operational system like SAP ECC to BPC. And, so a real-time Budget Availability Check may not be possible in BPC. But, wanted to know whether there is a solution to this.

BEx Reporting on BPC 10 Model

Hi all
I've been researching the option of bringing our BPC reporting into BW in order to make BPC data available to our existing set of BW users without the need to purchase more BPC licenses and save on training in EPM.
I have got as far as making the model a data source via the web admin and creating a query based on the virual provider <model>_B.
However, I still have some key questions which I do not have answered:
- Is this method of reporting OK as it is ? I am not making use of any sort of transient query..
- How are we able to enable authorisation on this BPC data surfaced in BEx without moving the data to new InfoObjects, etc. I do not believe it is wise to modify any of the automatically created objects from BPC..
- How are we able to improve the manipulation of hierarchies in BEx (some of which have 15 levels!) ? Has anyone come across this ?
My view is (and always has been) that we should be using BPC to reporting BPC data but I need to be sure of my facts and justify exactly why that should be our approach and make sure I am not missing an easy way to do this.

Half a year ago I reported problem to SAP because hierarchies showed wrong totals - with queries based on virtual provider. This happened after upgrading BW and BPC. I reported this to SAP and they answered, that Bex reporting on virtual provider is not supported. After that I changed all queries to basic BPC cube and applied BW authorizations.
SAP's anwer in january 2014 was:
"The transient query is the supported BEx query, please kindly work with it for BEx WEB reporting. Note that the transient query also has some limitation, please refer to note 1730125.
Customer defined BEx query on BPC generated virtual InfoProvider is currently not supported. It's an enhancement request to support customer defined BEx query, please create such a request on
SAP Idea Place where BPC product team would regular check and collect development requests."
I see that later SAP issued note 1988018 which probably solved the issue. But still I didn't see any SAP's official statement that Bex reporting on BPC cubes is supported.

English-language server

SAP BPC can only be installed on an English-language server including language settings and the same for SQL server version.
As it is an important limitation for installation in an international context, I'd like to know if this limitation is planned to be modified in the future.
For instance, it would help to install SAP BPC in a virtualized environment or to use an SQL server instance on a non english SQL server version. In some environment, SAP BPC is the only server in an english version...

SAP BPC is available for the moment only in English.
It is planned for the future to support on the server side even other language.
The fact that BPC server is working only in English should not be a problem. Only if you want to use a SQL server already installed it can be a problem. Even in that case you can create a new instance of SQL server and that can help.
If you will provide more information what is the problem to have the srever in English I will be happy to provide you solution or some workarounds to solve your problem.

Thanks for your reply, very first i do not have any idea about Outlooksoft CPM 4.2 as i aware that Outlooksoft is acquired by SAP and in Q2 of 2008 they are going to release in SAP netweaver, though SAP BPC is available in market.
I need few documents where i can understand the complete data flow and architecture of Outlooksoft, i need your precious help in my search.

RKT Environment

I am in the process of doing the BPC 10 RKT training and have down loaded all the RKT material. Included in this is a set of exercises. However as a first step they ask us to u201Copen the environment RKT_IFRS_XXu201D. There is no instruction as to where we download this environment from. After several emails to the RKT support I have not been able to communicate to them that I need a copy of the environmet. Does anyone know where I get it from?
In the past SAP have made other BPC environments available on SAPMATS. Demo5B and Best Practice are two such evironments. I am trying to locate the RKT_IFRS_XX and or the IFRS_Exercises environment.

Yes it shows up after restart of BIDS .
But during design time this is a bug I hope Microsoft fixes this bug in the future releases

It's not really a bug. Visual Studio loads the environment variables when starting up.
In future releases you use projects and parameters instead of environment variables, so the issue goes away ;)

Data Manager not available in the BPC 7.0 Action Pane

Hi,
I have just installed BPC 7.0 and everything is working fine, except I don't have access to the Data Manager.
According to the BPC guide, this is how to start Data Manager:
1. Click the Business Planning and Consolidation icon on your desktop.
2. From the Business Planning and Consolidation launch page, select Business Planning and Consolidation for Excel.
3. From the Getting Started - BPC for Excel action pane, select Manage Data.
I don't have "Manage Data" as an option in the Action Pane. The options I have under Available Task Categories are: "Reporting & Analysis", "Journals" and "Open System Reports".
I also do not have a menu called eData.
Any ideas on what I can do?

Make sure you have all task profile related to data manager....do let us know if youstill face this problem

BPC 10.0 Unrestricted availability to customers

Dear Experts,
Our client is asking us to implement BPC 10.0 for SAP NW
I checked the SMP and saw that it is in Acitve Ramp-up stage and it says Restricted availability productive use allowed. When I went to SWDC to download, I don't see the software to download. Below are my queries :
1. Is BPC 10.0 available for customers to use?
2. What is restricted available productive use allowed means?
3. What is the unrestricted available date of BPC 10.0?
4. Can we implement BPC 10.0 restricted available for our customer?
Please help ASAP.

Hi,
There is no speficied date for GA of BPC 10.0 as of now, as ramp up completion is determined by reaching certain KPI's like the number of clients live, outstanding OSS messages.
SAP BPC 10.0 NW - RAMPUP Exit Date Estimate is 20th February 2012.
Tentatively it may be available in Feb 2012.
You can contact the SAP Sales Division about this or wait until BPC 10.0 is made GA.

Also usually how much time takes between the product general availability and certification availability.

Unfortunately, there is no "official" ramp up date, only a "target".

Available the "input data", in BPC version 10

Why do not I have available the "Data Input", in BPC version 10?
What permissions should I have? ...
I check Use as Input Form option, General tab in Sheet Options; but not available "Data Input" in Ribon EPM

Then you must create a new task profile, call it ALL_TASKS and place every task (including Use Input Forms and Save Data) in that new task profile.

Available Retraction from BPC to ECC

Hi Friends !
I would like to know how many available retractors are possible from BPC to ECC:
1) Fund Management - BPC to BI & then Standard Tcode in ECC
2) PCA - Only possible for flat file upload
Is there any more retractors? any presentation available?

I assume you're posting budget to ECC-FM.
Set your BPC config so that the InfoCubes and InfoObjects don't change every time you optimize
Build a BEx query on the cube containing your data
Use the standard retractor on the ECC side (there are three parts: field assignment, budget derivation strategy, actually running the FM_CYCOPIBW program)

Dispaly attribute not available in universe on top of BPC cube

Hi,
I have created a universe on top of a BPC cube.
The cube has a dimension object which has display attributes associated with it.
In the universe, dimension objects are automatically created for the dimensions. But no detail object has been created for the display attributes.
Is there any way to make the display attributes available for reporting ?

By having BEx queries on BPC cubes, I thought the revenue will be negative for example and balance sheet items will be double counted over time. I am not sure if SAP is officially supporting this BEx on BPC cubes ?
When I get data from Legacy systems into BW cubes, I would like to validate( and raise exceptions if required) the imported transactional data. Any other way to accomplish these with BEx queries on BPC cubes ?

Is the BPC NW in General Availability?

Hello all, I am interested in installing BPC 70 NW. but it is confused to me to determine what is the right version. Is the NetWeaver version in GA? the original date was March but now it looks it changed.
Where can I get that information??

Hi Bryan, we are not able to find the link for downloading BPC 70 NW. We were not able to find it, only folund the Microsoft Version.
In the Product Availability Matrix says " Default Release" with status available.
Can you confirm the product is available for downloading?

NEW AVAIL SAP BPC 10

Hi experts,
my company avail the new sap bpc 10, and i will be one who support the system after the project,
i just would like to know if we also get a pdf training materials for sap bpc 10?
like 410,420 and 210, i dont remember correctly the number of those training materials in previous version, even so i just would like to know,
because i think our consultant who's implementing the sap bpc 10 didn't discuss to my project manager.
