BPC Optimization Server Time Out error message
We’re using BPC 7.5 MS and on patch level 111.02
There’s two front-end servers and one back-end.
When completing a full optimization with compression on an application we immediately get the optimization popup screen with no processing information only a “Server Time Out” error message.
Optimization was taking a long to time run and sometimes timed out. To try and resolve this issue we have just updated indexes and statistics and during our test in production we now receive the “Server Time Out” error message immediately. However, the records from tbl.Factwb and tbl.Fac2 did move to the tbl.Fact.
Our development environment test ran fine.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Hi Michael,
please look in the logs maybe you will found more informations regarding the timeout and eventually share it.
There are several notes about a timeout in 10 version,
1394533 - 'Server Time Out' error when performing Modify Application, Full Process of a dimension, or Full Optimize this is related with NLB
but it could be also related with the web.config 1628908 - How to fix Optimize with compress time-out failure
or if you reach the max number of connection
1635749 - Error Message: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool

BDC-Log Out from Production Server with out error message
Hi all
I have written one BDC for "FWZZ" transaction.
It is wrking fine in dev & qual.
But in prod it is logging out with out any error message.
what might be the reason??
Thaks & Regards
SwathiHi Swathi!
There is little you can do. The BDC can only be shortened by avoiding unecessary steps (each return code needs some time) - but most likely you have already a short way through the transaction.
But maybe there are some field exits / user exits / customizing settings, which start slow database actions. As long as in Dev and Qual aren't so much entries, there wasn't a problem, but now in Prod you have a performance problem.
Make a runtime analysis or a SQL-trace to see what's happening during the call transaction. This should give you an idea, where to look for the slow parts.

I keep getting time out error messages when trying to install flash player
I've put a new install of Win 7 64 bit pro onto a new hdd. All other s/w has worked fine and not given me any issues except for adobe flash player. If I just install FP 11 it installs ok. Issue happens when I try to install the "other" version for Steam. The install screen stops at 11%, shoots up to 47%, then I get a timeout error message. If I uninstall and install the Steam version 1st it works then the regular version gets the same timeout error. I have folllowed all advice from previous threads on this topic such as disabling firewall (I use Panda), a clean adobe install using the flash player uninstall program and removing reader as well then going through the registry and removing all mention of adobe, etc, etc.
I found a partial way around this. I installed the Steam version of flash player, then found a website that I could download flash player 10 executable from. I was able to run that and get both versions of flash player going on my system. Then the flash player went and found the update to version 11. I've just tried to install that and I end up with the exact same error messages all over again.
Is there website that I can download the executable file for flash player 11 from or a link to it on the adobe website?I am not sure what you mean by "Flash Player for steam"; the only Flash Player installers I know is the ActiveX (for Internet Explorer) and the plugin (for other browsers); you can find both at http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player- windows.html#main-pars_header

It looks like you have many data in JOB VIEW history. You may PURGE the jobhistory.
You can keep the history info for last few months and purge the old data using

I have just spent over an hour waiting for the Itunes software to download the new ios5 software and it fails right at the end as a server timeout error.
WHY DO WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH ITUNES?? WHY CAN'T THE SOFTWARE BE PUT UP ON THE SUPPORT PAGES.THIS IS NOT A NEW PROBLEM AS I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DOWNLOAD ANY UPGRADES FOR THE PAST YEAR ON MY PHONE AND IPADThis sounds like an ISP issue of some type on your end.
The Apple servers have been absolutely slammed and have been timing out, but certainly not for the past year.
Do you have an Apple Store nearby at which you can try downloading upgrades? -
Mail (and other mail apps) suddenly giving server time-out error.
...though browser, webmail, iPhone and iPad connections via same router (whether wifi or powerline) are fine. Turning firewall off and disabling anti-virus makes no difference, so it looks like e-mail protocol. ISP has checked their end and no issues. A local expert doesn't know where to turn next - can anyone assist, as I need to have my regular e-mail client working to run my business.
Early 2008 iMac running Mountain Lion regularly updated, 4GB RAM.
Thanks,

ITunes server times out (error 408) with some, but not all downloads
The episodes failing to download are "Dawn of a New Day" part 2 from "Skyland" and "Program" from "Animatrix." Everything else, 11 episodes of "Skyland" and "Animatrix", downloaded fine, so it is hard to imagine that this has anything to do with my system. I have already paid for these episodes and have tried numerous times over several days and the downloads never even get started. I would like to get what I paid for.

Hi,
We are trying to invoke a Web Service from BPEL Process (10.1.3.3.0) and we received below time out error message in em console.
</part></Invoke_1_setJobPostingXML_InputVariable></input><fault><remoteFault xmlns="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension"><part name="summary"><summary>exception on JaxRpc invoke: HTTP transport error: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: Read timed out</summary>
Problem here is this error is not coming for all the invocation. For ex. We have posted the input payload at 3:15:34PM today and it thrown an error at 3:45:12 PM with above message. Also its not huge load hitting their server as we are calling the webservice once in 4-5 mins and if we repost the same message, its posting without any issue. This time out error comes 4-5 times daily and want to understand why it occurs everyday.
1. Will BPEL receive an error if we post huge payload to web service?
2. Do we need to set some waiting time to receive the response after posting the data to Web service?
3. Other possible scneario's for timeout error?
Thanks,
SaravanaHi Saravana,
It's likely to be a problem at the remote side or a network latency/communication problem...
How can you affirm "its not huge load hitting their server"? Your service may not be the only source of load...
Cheers,

Email stuck in Outbox - Server times out
I sent an email with an attached pdf - should have checked the size of the pdf first. After about 5 to 10 minutes I get a Server Time out error. I closed and opened the email program and it tries to send the email again.... How can I delete the email with out opening the program?
Thanks in advance. Dale
G3 Mac OS X (10.3.9)Dale,
Welcome to the Discussions.
Quit Mail, if running. In the Finder, open Home/Library/Mail/Mailboxes and locate the Outbox.mbox file, and delete it. Mail will create a new one, when next you go to send.
Are there any messages in the Outbox you wish to save? If so, don't delete, but only drag out to be on the Desktop, and post back.

Time out error while running the FR report on Workspace
Hi,
We are working on Hyperion system 9.3.1 financial reporting with Essbase as a data source.
We have built a report, which has many computation, conditional formatting, suppression condtion.Report has around 100 columns.
Now when we are try to open this report on workspace, report is throwing the "Server time out" error meassage. error meassage is-
"The requested item could not be loaded by thr proxy. Timed out".
Reports are opening fine with less data or if essbase cube doesn't have any data.
Please suggest us on this issue. Do we need to set any setting at Essbase level or workspace level or any other way.
Any help will be appriciated.
Thanks & Regards,
Mohit JainI would suggest by saying that 100 columns seems quite a lot, you mention there are many computation columns, these should be pushed back onto the server to calculate.
We have also experienced issues where reports we pulling back lots of columns that were dynamically calculated.
To narrow down the actual problem you can try the following, the see if the report runs with the change, if not continue with the next steps:
- remove all formatting from the spreadsheet;
- remove all calculations from the spreadsheet;
- see if the report can be built more efficiently, by moving items to Grid POV or using same as, or reordering dimensions in inverse outline order;
If it still doesn't run, then try removing columns until it can run.

Server time-out issue - unable to start "hello - world" application
Hi Team,
I am doing the exercise of week 1 of "Intro to SAP HANA Cloud platform (Repeat) " -
I am unable to start the application - I get the server time out error - also I tried increasing the timeout in server editor to 600 - I still
get the error as shown below
Please help me in resolving this.
Thanks in advance!
-Manju1. I meant look for any errors in the logs, for something related to your app.
2. Just go to Java Applications in Cockpit. BTW, do you know the help center SAP HANA Cloud Documentation? That should be your first stop for any questions around HCP along with the SAP HANA Cloud Platform Developer Center and http://hcp.sap.com/.
3. There should be more details in that log file about the reason the app could not start.
HTH!

Transaction Time out error in EJB while using Websphere Application Server.
Hi All,
I am using Websphere Application server and getting the transaction time out error. By default the transaction time out is 120 second. I am using session bean for doing a set of transaction. These set are dynamically generated. Is there any way to set the transaction time out for only this session bean to infinite ?
Thanks in advance
VivekHi,
According to WAS 6 , every opened connection has to be commited (or rolledback) explicitly (didnt try autocommit) before closing. Even if all you have done with that connection is a SELECT Query.
This has apparently solved the same problem I was getting. implement it and see whether it helps you. -
Time out error in production server for alv grid report
hi. i have developed alv grid report using nested select statments. when i testing in development server it is giving the output but in production server if i give 4 months then it is showing time out error.please help me out..its urgent.
Thanks in advance.Hi Manu,
Don't use Nested selected statements.
Use the Following Performance Tuning Options that i have given below so that your problem can be solved.
1) Always check the driver internal tables is not empty, while using FOR ALL ENTRIES
2) Avoid for all entries in JOINS
3) Try to avoid joins and use FOR ALL ENTRIES.
4) Try to restrict the joins to 1 level only ie only for tables
5) Avoid using Select *.
6) Avoid having multiple Selects from the same table in the same object.
7) Try to minimize the number of variables to save memory.
8) The sequence of fields in 'where clause' must be as per primary/secondary index ( if any)
9) Avoid creation of index as far as possible
10) Avoid operators like <>, > , < & like % in where clause conditions
11) Avoid select/select single statements in loops.
12) Try to use 'binary search' in READ internal table. Ensure table is sorted before using BINARY SEARCH.
13) Avoid using aggregate functions (SUM, MAX etc) in selects ( GROUP BY , HAVING,)
14) Avoid using ORDER BY in selects
15) Avoid Nested Selects
16) Avoid Nested Loops of Internal Tables
17) Try to use FIELD SYMBOLS.
18) Try to avoid into Corresponding Fields of
19) Avoid using Select Distinct, Use DELETE ADJACENT
