BPC10NW: Error while running Balance Carry Forward

Hi,
I am trying to run 'Balance Carry Forward' (COPYOPENING) to copy opening balances from 2010.DEC to 2011.JAN.
The 'Opening Balances' package fails with "RUN_LOGIC:Cannot find document/directory" error.
The Copyopening.lgf is available and is been validated successfully.
We have refered to the below link but still the opening balances is failing with the same error.

Hi,
I have found similar issues with business rules in v10.
Can you just try to include this in Default logic and see if you can get it to run from a sent record. I know that this is not necessarily the nicest approach as you would normally like to run the package from DM, but I could not get certain things to run from DM.
If (like me) you can get it to run via Default, you could then trigger this by sending a dummy record to a dummy account.
I know it's not ideal but until this is fixed (I think it may be a bug) then this could be a solution.

Balance Carry Forward & Break Down Category

Dear collegues,
When we run Balance Carry Forward task system uses movement type default value (defined in WORKBENCH > MASTER DATA > SUBASSIGNMENTS > DEFAULT VALUES) in items to which the movement type is required in accordance with the Breakdown Category.
Does anyone knows how is it possible to define a diferent default movement type just for this task?
What happens now is that every time we need to carry out a balance forward we must perform a customizing change.

One suggestion is to change the movement type master data to determine the carryforward values.
However in this case it appears that the breakdown may have been changed after some data was loaded with blank movement types before making it required. In this case I suggest you change the breakdown to required with default not allowed and execute the breakdown check in the workbench for the prior year. This will allow you to enter the desired movement type values after which you may re-execute the balance carryforward.

FS10N Balance carry forward error

Hi,
I have few documents in 2007 and carry forawarded to 2008 and 2008 i have posted documents and i have carry forwarded but in 2009 only 2008 balance is showing.
EX: 2007----100(carry forwarded to 2008)
2008 balance opening balance is 100
I have posted few documents of 50
Carry forwaded to 2009 then balance should be 100+50=150 but system is showing only Rs.50
I am using ECC.6

Balance CarryForward for General Ledger -->F.16/FAGLGVTR
Balance CarryForward for Vendors/Customers -->F.07
Copy Number Ranges for next fiscal year -->OBH2
Re-Do the Balance Carry Forward for which you are not getting. some times it wont carry forward in a single shot.
No issue if do it again.

Balance Carried Forward problem

Hi Experts,
when running the Ledger for one range of posting period, the customeru2019s line items and cumulative balances are separated into 2 different reconciliation accounts.
While running for the next yearu2019s posting period , the Carry Forward Balances of Customers from previous year are aggregiated into one G/L account ,other account 0 balance is carried forwarded.
My program is fetching from table KNC1 which will have Balance carry forward of the two combined accounts which is going to 1st account.
Please let me know any table or FM where I can get Balance Carry Forward with passing Fiscal Year, Customer Code, GL Account_.( KNC1 table doesn't help in my case)_

Balance Carry Forward in Accrual Engene: "No matching data found in fiscal"

Hi,
I have executed ACACCARRYFORWARD (Balance Carry Forward in Accrual Engine) to 2011 and I have success message on screen of Overview of Balances Carried Forward.
But, when I execute Start Periodic Accrual Run (manual accruals) for 31 January 2011 I have error message "Processing not posible on 31.12.2011 - Fiscal Year 2011 not carried forward", and then I execute again ACACCARRYFORWARD to 2011 but now, I have massege "No matching data found in fiscal year before 2011".
For more information when I execute ACACCARRYFORWARD for the first, I haven't maintain no range for 2011 (ACEPS_RUNID-Define Number Ranges for Periodic Posting Runs; ACAC_ACEPS_APPLLOG-Define Number Ranges for Application Log ; ACEPS_ACEDOCNR-Define Number Ranges for Accrual Engine Documents; ACEPS_AWREF-Define Number Ranges for Assigning ACC Doc. to ACE Doc.)

We are operating two company codes. Company A and B. We followed the same steps in executing the Balance carry forward for both the company codes but in Company A we cannot display the actual line items.

Wrong balance carried forward...

Issue:
We have Jan-Dec Fiscal year, however one of our resource wrongly ran the Balance carry Forward program for FY 2013, due to which the balances are carried forward to 2013 year. The consequences is GLT0 was updated with 2013 entries which was not expected. Kindly advice how to reverse BCF happened for 2013 or How to remove balance for 2013 from GLT0 table which wrongly entered.

Hi,
Run balance carryforward programs for FY 2012 again.
There is no harm while performing the above again.
Once GLT0 is carriforward to future year, you cannot remove them, Since there wont be any issue here also. Let it be there.
So in FY 2013, just run these programs again to adjust those opening balances, which are not updated to the table.

Gl Balance carry forward

Dear SIr,
In 2006 my GL balance was not transferred to 2007 , while making balance sheet for year 2008 there was a difference in opening balance.
When looked to the matter found that the closing balance for 2006 was not transferred to 2007.
So how can I carry forward the balance for just SIngle 1 Gl which is creating a problem.

For GL Balance Carry forward from 2006 to 2007.
Menu Path
From the General Ledger node - choose Periodic Processing - Closing - Carrying Forward - Balance Carry Forward
T.code : F.16
Enter Comapny codes
Carry Forward to Fiscal year 2007.
First Select Test run and see the output results.
After viewing the results, remove the test run and execute.
Please let me know if you need more information.

Balance carry forward not happening for new entity

Hello Gurus,
We added mid 2009 a new entity to be consolidated.
The balance carry forward assigns the last year results to retained earnings, this is the same accross all entities.
When executing the task in the monitor, there is no error message but it does no work, results end-up on a difference elimination item.
For all other entities, it works fine.
I wonder if there is a configuration that I overlooked.

So you are saying that for all other consolidation units, the Balance CarryForward (BCF) was successful?
but for only one unit is was not successful?
- I suggest to you that one of the following has occurred;
1. there is no data against the balance sheet items for that unit (go to totals records to confirm YTD balance last year for all Balance Sheet items for that cons unit)
2. there is only data against a specific item that has been set to carryforward to the "elimination" item that you mentioned (check the BCF items to be carried forward confgiuration)
3. there is only data against Balance Sheet items that have been configured NOT to be carried forward (check the BCF config)
4. you have configured some items incorrectly as Item Type; Income Statement or Statistical instead of Balance Sheet.
5. You have missed the consolidation unit from the hierarchy for p1, 2010 (please also check the combinations if it is a matrix consolidation unit) so the BCF is not running for that unit at all
Checking these 5 should get you closer to the answer

Error while running OBIA configuration configApps.bat

I am receiving error while running configapps.bat.
I have the following wnvironment installed:
64 Bit windows
Java 6 (JDK1.6.x)
Weblogic server 10.3.6 in software only mode
Ran OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0 RCU utility to create BIPLATFORM and MDS schemas.
configured OBIEE 11.1.1.7
Installed ODI 11.1.1.7 with All components and “Skip Repository Configuration”
Ran OBI Apps RCU to create schemas for:
ODI Master and Work Repositories (DEV_BIA_ODIREPO)
Oracle Business Applications Components (DEV_BIACOMP)
Oracle Business Analytics Datwarehouse (DEV_DW)
Update to MDS schema.
Installed BI Apps 11.1.1.7.1
Applied FMW Platform Patches
Updated BIACOMP Schema with ATGLite patch scripts
Everything was up and running until now, when i try to configure OBIA via running configApps.bat, it is getting stuck at ODI configuration.
Also the server seems to be going to idle/suspended state every now and after 5-6 mins of startup and i see this message repeated again and again in server log :

The re-install has been successful. Didnt encounter any issues in any configuration.
However the waring still appears

Also in the log i am getting the following errors as well in the Weblogic server log
BEA -101020 Servelet failed with exception Java.lang.illegalstateexception: Cannot forward a response that is already committed
Oracle.as.management.mbeans.opmn OPMN.queryProcessStatus failed with the following exception oracle.as.management.opmn.optic.OpticBadConnectionException: Failed to create secure socket for OPMN
All patches were applied successfully, including weblogic one's.
Has anyone got any idea how to resolve these issues.

Balance carried forward for New GL

Hi Expert,
I would like understand about the balance carried forward for AP and AR in the New GL.
When executing the program in test run mode, user will download the balances and try to tie to the recon accts in trial balance. The openning balance generated by the program should tie to the last fiscal year closing balance. But apparently, it is not. There is a difference. And after checking, the difference seem to the opening balance that aready exist in the new FY.
So, when executing the carried forward program, is the system transferring only the difference ? New posting or items not yet carried forward ?

FAGLGVTR - Balance Carryforward (New) for GL carry forward
F.07 - Balance Carryforward for AR/AP carry forward
When you execute these programs system will carryforward all closing balance to subsequent year opening balance. Any postings happened in previous year will dynamically carried forward to subsequent year after executing this program. If you find any mismatch, you can again execute this program. It will not create any impact.

Customer line items with balance carry forward no opening balance

Hello FI Experts,
We have ticket where the user is using a Z* Report for Customer line items with balance carry forward. In 31.01.2007 user has posted some legacy data, latter he was executing this Z* report then user can see the values posted on the same day (31.01.2007) as line items. But he was executing the report on 01.02.2007 then he was not able to see the line item as well as the values posted on 31.01.2007 as opening balance as on 01.02.2007. But if we run the report as on 01.01.2008 then we are able to see the values which are carry forwarded as opening balances. Did anyone have worked on this type of scenario?
Requirement Here Is: The values that have been posted on 31.03.2007 which are still open line items should get displayed as opening balance as on 01.02.2007.

Hi,
Any report will get data from Tables. Please check whether the table you have used to develop this report has opening balance.
Balance will be carry forwarded only when you run the balance carry forward program. Check whether this was run for the date you have specified. This can be done in the year end.
If you are checking in the middle of the year, then the balance will not be carry forwarded.

How to know whether balance carry forward has happened or not

How to know , whether balance carry forward has happened or not for a perticular GL account or for the company code as a whole?

If the account is a balance sheet account, you can merely look at the beginning balance for the same balance sheet account for the beginning of the next fiscal year FS10N. The beginning balance will equal the previous year's ending balance. Since this does not happen automatically, you will know that carry forward has not been done if a balance sheet account has no beginning balance in the following fiscal year.
If you are talking about For P&L GL accounts, you can check the acvitity in the retained earnings accounts to make sure that they have been updated for the P&L activity. You can identify the retained earnings account by looking at the master data for the account in the section "P&L statmt acct type" and pulling up the menu to see the actual retained earnings account number.
You can perform carry foward (GVTR) as many times as you want but normally once it has been ran, any postings to a previous fiscal year are automatically carried forward to the current year after that initial run.

well I think you did not give us all information about your implementation. The ADF Region area on the page that does not work tries to read its task flow binding reference from a memery attribute in view scope, which for the attempted location (the 12th in the array) is null

OIM 11g error while running the scheduler

Hi All,
we have created on few custom schedulers to carry out trustetd recon and doing the create , modify and delete operations on OIM entities. all were running fine earlier. Now we started facing the below error while running any scheduler. Please find the OIM diagonostic logs below.
scheduler status is not changing to running and scheduler logs and events r also not getting generated. please find the logs below.

I got one similar issue before. In my case was with event handler. It was a sintax issue.
Example:
I wrote this: <action-handler Class="...
instead of this: <action-handler class="...
So, in your case III suggest you to check if have any plugin invalid syntax and re-import your schedule task plugin.

Internal Order Residual Balance carry forward.

Hello Team,
I am new dealing with Internal Orders, but I would like some guidance on the following:
1- We created an internal order las year in Nov. 2007, but when I did the balance carry forward it appeares that the residual balance for I/O did not transferred. I noticed that by running report S_ALR_87013019. At the time of a creation of PO the system wll give me a msg of budget exceeded. So how do I Carry forward the residual budget into the new year? the only way I was able to resolve the issue for now is by deactivating the I/O T-code T-code K032 but then this defeats the purpose of I/O
2- How do I set-up tolerance leve for each I/O. I would ilke for user to get a warning 10% before teh budget is about to be exceed and a hard stop 10% after it has ben execeed.
3- How can I configure I/O to send e-mails to managers when budget hits the tolerance level.

Hello and thank you for your reply. But I encoutered the following:
1- I already have budget profile set-up in OKOB
When I went to the menu path that you gave me
(Controlling> Internal Orders> Budgeting and Availability Control-->
Define Tolerance Limits for Availability Control)
Under availability control I only show activate- K030 and deactivate K032. I did not see Define Tolerance Limits for Availabilty control.
So I am still at a stand still. as to how to set-up Tolerance levels and how to assign it to I/O.
but, you answer the e-mail notification, we do not have workflow set-up so it will not work.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
