BPC10NW Failed to save data message

We made changes to a model in BPC, switched Input Currency to Rpt Currency. We optimized the model. Re-opened the Input Form we are testing and refreshed. We still have writeback/input enabled cells according to the colors. We enter data and when we save it we are getting the error message "Failed to save data" but when we refresh the form the data we entered is there and any sums or subtotals are calculated. The data entered also shows up in BW, so it is saving the data. What is really wrong, and how do I fix it?

Thank you both. Yes, it was the Default logic blocking the save. Commented out everything in Default logic and came back into the input form and it worked fine, but of course was not calculating the taxes. I tried *When logic and was able to save, but did not get a tax calculation. I switched to MDX and set the tax account = to the Operating Profit * .25 and that worked as expected and did not bomb out the Input form.

Mail Failed to Save Sent Message

Hello,
While attempting to send a message out today, Mail failed to save the message to ANY respective folder therefore the message was lost. There is nothing in drafts, sent, or saved folders that indicate that the message was actually sent.
I use AOL mail in the client software. The settings usually work, but there have been occasions where this has happened before.
Any inclination as to what is causing this? Is there anyway to recover that email that took TWO hours to compose?

I had a very similar thing happens a few weeks ago. I attributed it to AOL (which I also use). In my case, I think the message was sent.
Recovery….. Do you use Time Machine? I looked in Time Machine when my message went missing, but the auto-save had not happened in the necessary time period so nothing was there. You could sign on to AOL on the web and see if the message is there someplace.
It is too late for you now, but if I am pecking out a longer E-mail (I type very slowly) I save a draft periodically. I started that after my experience above.

Basically work status is locking mechanism of BPC. As i said earlier the whole work status concept works on the owner manager relationship. So try to understand the concept of owner and manager relation and how it works in bpc. In work status only owner or manger have access to do certain activities. Failed to Save Document. and Not Supported. Error Message

I am using Crystal 10 and SQL Server. I have ran into instances when I try to save a report with data or save as I get Failed to Save Document. and Not Supported. error messages. Does anyone have a clue on why this would be happening and is there a work around.

Has anyone found the answer to this problem? I am experiencing the exact same issue today. This is quite frustrating! If anyone has a clue on how to fix this or how to prevent it from happening again please post a reply.
I'd hate to lose all of my work over the past hour (I couldn't imagine of loosing a days worth of work like the original poster stated) but if there is no fix, I understand. However, is there something that I could have done to cause this? If so, I want to avoid doing it in the future.

Unable to save Unified Messaging PIN: Access to Active Directory Failed

I'm trying to enable all of our users for Unified Messaging and I've created a powershell script for each of users I want to enable but I am getting an error message everytime I try and run it.

Our setup is forest root domain and 2 child domains. Most of the users are in the child domains and the Exchange server is in the forest root domain.
I'm using -domaincontroller but this doesn't make a difference. Here is the script I am using:

Can someone point out why this isn't working?

I had the same experience as Gueetar. Couldn't enable a UM mailbox, or change the PIN. Got a generic "Access to Active Directory Failed" message instead of anything useful. Even went so far as enabled a ton of diagnostic logging, which didn't report anything
useful.
Of course, all the accounts I was enabling had the HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled property set to $true (these were old deactivated accounts I was using to test with). I found that setting it back to $false corrected the issue.
Of course I didn't know it was that exact problem at the time. I only found a difference after disabling/re-connecting mailboxes (and of course newly created mailboxes exhibited no issues). Assuming this was going to be the case for all mailboxes this would
be fine for testing and proof of concept, bad for production/implementation. Instead I ran a bunch of scenarios over two days, culminating in a crap load of LDIFDEs and DSACL dumps to enumerate the object properties and compare the values that were different.
This property (HideFromALEnabled) and a few others stood out. Luckily it wasn't ACL-related - that would've been a complete head wreck!

Failed to retrieve data from the database error message

Hello,
I have a fairly simple report that correctly retrieves the data from the database providing that there are no selection formula.
However, as soon as I add the record selection formula:
{fireService.serviceDate} >= DateTime (2009, 10, 3, 0 ,0 ,0)
I get the following errors:
Failed to retrieve data from the database
Cannot determine the queries necessary to get data for this report. Details: An invalid range operator has been encountered.
However, when I use the Database / Show SQL Query option and copy the query directly into the sql query analyser it works perfectly.
Any ideas?

I am using a table to select the records from.
In fact it is a series of joined tables.
The SQL Query generated is:

It looks complext but is not. Most of these joins reference lookup tables.

I've been working on this report for several hours. Changing formulas, updating the stored procedure, verifying the database... now all the sudden when I try to Save or Save As, I'm getting an error message: "Failed to save document." and that's all it says.
I've closed all preview windows, tried it with and without "Save data with report.", and nothing seems to remedy the problem.
I'll be losing 20 minutes worth of changes if I can't figure this out. Not ideal, but it could be worse. This post is more or less to figure out why this would happen so I can avoid it in the future.

Failed to retrieve data set (dsLibrary) for spry:repeat

I've tried to make this work with an external xml file,
external html table, and finally this version with an internal html
table for the data set source. The source table shows up in the
browser along with the error message in a box with red header
"Failed to retrieve data set (dsLibrary) for spry:repeat".
I used one of the Adobe Samples as a base for my page. I've
checked and recheck, and I can't find the source of my problem.

[solved] Emacs fails to save to gpg encrypted files

I have a few org-mode files encrypted to .gpg files with different keys. Each file bears the headers to tell emacs it's an org-mode file and which key to use to encrypt/decrypt:

This setup has been working flawlessly for years and the keys are set to expire later in 2015.
I noticed a couple days ago that emacs now fails to save those files: emacs works as expected while opening the files, i.e. pinentry-qt window shows up to ask for the passphrase, but when I tell it to save the file the following message is displayed in the minibuffer for a little while, then nothing and the file stays in its modified state. Last successful save dates from november 7th.
(numeric values replaced because they look like gpg keys)
Opening output file: [pub u 4096 1 <numeric value> <other numeric value> <another numeric value> nil u nil ...], 15
The command epa-list-keys fails with Args out of range:
command-execute: Symbol's function definition is void: \ epa-list-keys
epg-list-keys: Args out of range: ["pub" "u" "4096" "1" "<numeric value>" "<other numeric value>" "<another numeric value>" nil "u" nil ...], 15
I tracked this issue to this epg bug that supposed to be fixed since late november but obviously is not: http://debbugs.gnu.org/db/19/19002.html
For those with the same issue, here's how to fix it:
- uncompress epg.el.gz located in /usr/share/emacs/24.4/lisp
- apply the below diff to epg.el
- add write permission for regular user to epg.elc
- run the byte-compile command from inside emacs on epg.el
- remove write permission for regular user to epg.elc

Cannot save data in item details iview (validations, calculation problem)

Hello,
I'm unable to save data in an item details iview. It complains about validations or calculated fields according to error message below.
I am however able to save data directly in data manager and I have no automatic excutions (set to None) on my validations.
So I guess I have to check calculations, or?

Hi Olof,
From the error message, it seems that the new created record is " Failing a Validation".
From the Data Manager you can save a record , when automatic executions set to None.
But the same will fail when it is added to a validation group and that group is used in the Item Details Iview while creating a record.
Please update the status.

OSD - 8007000F " Failed to save current environment block"

I have an issue with one of my Task Sequence OSD loads. I am using SCCM 2012 with a CAS trying to load a standalone drive.
The issue that i am having is it fails at the "Formatting C:\"
The logs are posted below.
I have tried to follow this: http://cmsource.net/2014/01/21/another-80070057-fail-apply-operating-system-image-step-in-sccm-2012/ But to no avail. I have tried using Diskpart, running clean cmd, and rebooting. That doesn't seem to help.

Sounds like your disk and/or disk controller isn't recognized during WinPE phase. Just download drivers needed from Lenovo, and put them in your boot image. Most off time only NIC and disk controller drivers are needed there. Hope it helps!

Failed to save package list!

I am trying to add DM packages for my tasks in eData --> Organize Package List menu but after adding the package group and the DM package to the group, when I try to save it, i get an error message "Failed to save the list!" and the packages disappear. I have checked my profile and I do have the required authorization etc. Has anyone else seen this kind of error on BPC 7.0NW SP5. Any idea what might be going on?

thanks a ton for your efforts. I did try adding the package group and save it first before attempting to add the DM package. The problem is when you add the package group the message says that the package group is added successfully. Then when you try to add the package and save it
eData --> Add package group in ADMIN folder --> Message "Package group has been added successfully".
After this step I can see the package group iunder the Application folder
Next Add Package Package type Process Chains. I select /CPMB/LEGAL_CONSOLIDATION --> Give it a name say LC, in the same folder as the one created in previous step. Check the task type User Package and Admin Package --> Select. The selected package shows up in the respective folder. So far so good.
Next when I click Save --> "Failed to save package list!"
When I try to look under eData --> Organize package list --> all the folders are gone! (Even one from before that was, I believe defaul Data Management).
I check under eData --> Manager Tream User Package Access: I don't see anything.
I have the proper security in BPC security settings (DM etc.).
I am at wits end!
