BPC7.5 task profile for only dimensions

Hi Im planning to design a task profile in which it should have access to only dimensions with read only access.
i have gone through secondary admin but he could change dimension.
I will be glad if some one can help me how to approach this.
Thank You

You're right roberto, for us also it is working fine if we use it like this.
We use now the FORMAT property to be able to manage format of display for the accounts without having to change all the screens and reports ...
Anyway, thanks for you answer
Anyone else tried ?

  • How to further restrict the task profile 'dimension' to selected dimensions

    Hi All,
We have a dimension which we require users to maintain their own master data. We have used the secondary admin task profile which provides default access to the task 'dimension'. THis allows that user access to the BPC Admin console and also to the dimension to maintain dimension members. However, we wish to limit their access to only certain defined dimensions & not give them access to all dimensions. I have tested using this task profile together with a member access profile to limit the secure dimensions for an application, however my understanding is that member access profiles will not restrict access once a user has logged into the BPC Admin Client...i.e the member access profile restricts the ability to read/write to 'facts'/sign data from a BPC front end tool, EG excel.
Any ideas much appreciated as to how to acheive this,
    Glen

    Hi,
As you said for maintaining dimension members, you had to assign a task to the task profile. However, assigning this task will allow the user to modify any of the dimensions.
You cannot give authorization to allow only selected dimensions. BPC doesnt have this feature. Either the user can modify all the dimensions or none of them.
    Hope this helps.

  • Task Profile-Worksheet Dimension Lock Options

Setting the security to allow a user to use the Worksheet dimension lock options for a report is simple enough.  What I can't find is the lowest level of security settings needed to allow it for Input templates.  I have users with task profiles allowing them to edit this for reports, but if they open an input template in the same application, then the option goes away.
Any help would be appreciated.  Hopefully I don't have to make them some form of admin.
    Thanks,
    Jason

OK, so let me try to explain it differently.  The choice a user can select in the Action Pane is called "Worksheet dimension lock options".  This allows a user to lock down the current view for a worksheet.  Visually, this results in the dimension selection in the current view becoming greyed out.
Controlling security to this feature for report templates is done via a task profile using AnalysisCollection-ManageTemplate.  Granting this security does NOT allow the user this same feature for input templates.
What task needs to be assigned to a task profile to allow the "Worksheet dimension lock options" choice in the Action Pane for input templates?
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • How to create mandatory (read-only) profile for Terminal Services user (HP Thin Client) on Server2003... aaarrgghhh!

I've been tearing my hair out for a couple of days now...
I'm trying to create a mandatory profile for users logging in from hp thin clients on a 2003 server at a school.
I've set up a prototype user, then copied the proto user's NTUSER.DAT to NTUSER.MAN and renamed
    NTUSER.DAT to NTUSER.DAT_unused.
At that point, logging in as the prototype user looks ok.  It was my understanding that renaming NTUSER.DAT to NTUSER.MAN would make it a mandatory profile, and the user (in this case the proto user) would be unable to change it.  However, in this
case the user can still modify the desktop and those modifications are preserved across logins.  The NTUSER.MAN file is being updated, judging by the timestamp changes.
    What am I missing?
I've tried putting the NTUSER.MAN in the user's dir on the server
     (C:\Documents and Settings\ProtoUser),
in the DefaultUser, and in AllUsers.
Right now I'm getting a default, unmodifiable profile which I have no idea where it comes from.
In case it matters, the original user and directory tree from which the NTUSER.MAN I'm trying to use has been deleted, but I wouldn't think that should matter.
For example, I have the option to not show the security tab set in the group policy, but it is showing up.
The Start menu is showing as the classic start menu, and I had it set for the "new" (2 column) one.
I've got hide network places on the desktop set, but it's showing up.
Is there a way to tell where a profile is coming from?
I'm pretty confused at this point; any clarifications / tips would be much appreciated.

If both an NTUSER.DAT and an NTUSER.MAN exist, which is used?
If no profile is found for a user in the normal place, what happens?

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
A mandatory user profile is a special type of pre-configured roaming user profile that administrators can use to specify settings for users. With mandatory user profiles, a user can modify his or her desktop, but the changes are not saved when the user
logs off. The next time the user logs on, the mandatory user profile created by the administrator is downloaded. There are two types of mandatory profiles: normal mandatory profiles and super-mandatory profiles.
User profiles become mandatory profiles when the administrator renames the NTuser.dat file (the registry hive) on the server to NTuser.man. The .man extension causes the user profile to be a read-only profile.
User profiles become super-mandatory when the folder name of the profile path ends in .man; for example, \\server\share\mandatoryprofile.man\.

  • BPC 10 Microsoft Security - Task Profile

My client wishes to assign the ability of Dimension member maintenance to only the System Admins.  I have moved the Dimension Member Maintenance out of the available tasks for the other group.  However, the other group may still add and delete Dimension members.  For example, Account member.
    Has anyone experienced this problem?
    Thank you

    Hi Sean,
by default dimension mantaince is assigned only to SystemAdmin, if you have other groups that can modify dimensions simply eliminate "Manage Dimensions" and "Manage Models" from their security task profiles.

  • Profiles for D300 body

    Hi,
Are there any profiles for the D300 body, particularly:
    17-55mm f/2.8 zoom
    70-200mm f/2.8 VRII zoom.
I can see the former in the LensProfiles directory fro D90 latter for the D3X.
    Thanks
    Geoff

    Hi,
I'm using the D300 too, with nearly the same lenses.
The original Adobe profiles are selected automatically in LR 3.2.
As camera type, there is displayed "Nikon" only in the lens correction window.
The profile for the 17-55 f/2.8 zoom works very well (the effect is very impressive at first time use). I compared it with an user created (with D300) profile, there are only very small differences between the two profiles. This lens is an DX lens. I assume, the adobe profile is created only for an APS-C sensor of exactly this dimensions.
The profile for the 70-200mm f/2.8 VR (I own the older VR lens, not the VRII) is some kind of problematic. The profile is created for an FX body because it's an FX lens. As mentioned in this forum, that should be no problem - LR is able to scale it automatically for smaller sensors.
I don't know if I make a mistake, but selecting different bodies in the lens correction window isn't possible.
The profile is selected by LR automatically too, but the corrections don't fit for the D300. The edges of the pictures are very bright, when correction is on. That means to me, the correction parameters for vignetting fit to an FX body - I think so do the other parameters.
So at the moment, I don't use lens correction for this lens.
I don't know if it's a general problem of the original "universal FX-DX" adobe lens profiles.

  • Manage dynamic hierarchies - Task in Task Profile

    Hello BPC Cracks,
I have a problem to assign a user/team the rights to manage dynamic hierarchies (DHE), anybody knows witch task should I assign to the user/team in Task Profile. (In the admin guide there is no entry for this topic). The Task Profile has already the Task u201CSubmitDatau201D and the menu eSubmit appears in the Excel front end.
Currently I have a member access profile, with rights for the ownership dimension read and write for all entities, but in the menu eSubmit the entry manage dynamic hierarchies does not appear.
    Thanks,
    Biagio

    Thanks Biagio,
The Note 1509322 worked for me. Ta
I applied it to a custom task profile that already had various specific tasks assigned to it (Just not Business Rules)
By adding Secondary Admin in the checkbox, it wiped out my original specific tasks, which I then had to remember and re-apply.
    All working now.

  • User Status Profile for Process Order Operations

    Hello Experts.
I have a need to set up a User Status at the Process Order Operation level that will prevent operation confirmation when the status is Active .
I have been successful at the following:
--- Created a new Status Profile (transaction BS02),
       --- Creating a u201CHoldu201D status,
--- Defined the Influence on Business Transactions,
--- Set the allowed Object Types for the profile.
--- In an individual Process Order operation, I can now select the Status Profile, and set the Hold status, and it functions correctly.
My problem is that I canu2019t figure out how to set my new profile as a default for Process Order Operations.  For Production Orders, this is done in the IMG definition for the Order Type (transaction OPJH), updating field T003O-VRG_STSMA.  However the Order Type definition for Process orders (transaction CORN) only has a field for a status profile at the header level.  Iu2019ve searched through Configuration and the Recipe, and the Production Version, and the Control Key, but can find no where to set the default status profile for a Process Order Operation..
As a final desperate act, I manually edited a T003O record for a Process Order Type in our test system, but even this failed to set a default Operation Status Profile for subsequently created Process Orders.
If you have any knowledge about this, then please help.

As of this date, we have still not implemented a fix, but I did get some information from someone else who has.
I'll post his information here for all to see.  Hope you find it helpful.
    From: Joe
Yes we managed to do it.
After several false starts and CMOD/projects which suffered because only the default keys (for order number, aufpl etc) were in place and not the actual, we coded up the IN_UPDATE method in the WORKORDER_UPDATE badi. This gives us the final format after the DB save (but before the commit). The update of the STATUS using the SAP std function module was actioned successfully but the status profile was not actually passed through. We assumed that this was because of the update task - so we introduced an INSERT into JSTO instead (a bit naughty I know, but desperate needs etc). If you require anything more let me know.
    Best Regards

  • BPC security - task profile definition

    Hi all,
I am trying to create a task profile which contain only the 'AppSet' task under 'Administration' interface. Here are the situations I faced: (I am using the default user when setting up BPC Server which has all authorizations)
    1. If I checked 'System Admin' in Step 1, I can not remove the other task 'Define Security' in Step 2.
    2. If I did not check any existing admin role, I can not even see the 'Administration' interface in Step 2.
May I ask your opinion on how could I resolve this?
    Thank you all in advance.
    Eric Lin

    Eric,
You want to create a brand new profile with every task available in BPC.
I had the same problem and found SAP table in BI. I think if you modify this table, you can manage the security as you want but I didn't try this method.
In sap BW, transaction se16, all the security table begin by UJE_ :
      UJE_TASK_SEC u2013 Task table (Application, Dimension,u2026),
      UJE_TASK u2013 Task Interface (Administration, Audit, u2026),

  • Best PCI E Profile for two nVidia GeForce 7300GTs?

Have been running my two Cinema HD 23 displays at 1920 x 1200 as an extended desktop from ONE nVidia GeForce 7300GT.
Just bought spare used Apple nVidia GeForce 7300GT.
Am planning on buying another Cinema HD 23 display, for a total of 3 displays, thus the second card.
Am planning on running all three displays as extended desktop at 1920 x 1200.
I do NOT do rendering, video editing, gaming, or any other graphic intensive applications
I do mostly, lots of multi-tasking writing, spreadsheets, web surfing, email, and full screen u-tube videos.
Am a little confused as to which expansion slots should to use, and how to use Expansion Slot Utility to set up an optimal PCI Express profile for:
    Two Cinema HD 23displays, initially.
Three Cinema HD 23 diplays, ultimately.
This is what I have set up now:
Or should I move the 2nd card to slot 4 and select the first alternate, Thus giving me a x16 lane for first card and a x8 lane for the second card?
However, I assume that when I get my 3rd display, I would use the 3rd Alternate profile, thus giving me three x 8 lanes?
Thanks very much for any advice

    Regarding the ATI 5770
Apple does not recommend the Apple-firmware 5770 for the oldest Mac Pro models simply because when the card was introduced, the older Models of Mac Pro were already discontinued. It installs and works perfectly -- just a little slower on the Mac Pro 1,1 and 2,1 due to PCIe 1 slots. Drivers are in 10.6.5 and later.
To run displays wider than 1920 wide, you must use Dual-Link DVI, so called because the data conductors are doubled to reduce the bit clock rate for wide displays.
The scarce resource in the Apple-firmware 5770, as in the PC-only 5770, is power to run the driver circuitry in the converters from Mini DisplayPort to other "legacy" interface standards such as DVI. You MUST use ACTIVE, POWERED converters for this job, or suffer only two of the screens lighting up. This is made clear in ATI/AMD literature as well as Apple literature.
You can use the fairly expensive Apple Dual-Link converter, which picks up its power from a USB lead. There are also third-party converters available. Some of these are sold on Amazon. Read and re-read all this information carefully, as it is very easy to confuse ACTIVE and not, Dual-Link and not, Mini DisplayPort and regular DisplayPort, and these sites do not make it easy to distinguish:

  • IOS 6.1.4 released for iPhone 5 Adds an Updated Audio Profile for Speakerphone

Apple has just released an Over the Air update for the iPhone 5.  It seems to only provide an updated audio profile for the speaker phone.  Nothing else listed in the change log.
I would assume  that there will be an iTunes downloadable  update available shortly.

It obviously is because you didnt understand. The iphone 4's last update to IOS 6.1.3 in some cases caused the phones speakers to not work (in which this happened to mine and a few people I know) which some people got rid of their phones. HENCE the AUDIO UPDATE that they recently posted but only iPhone 5 can download the update. That is my problem. I have alot of apple products diesel vdub and have had apple for a long time but I can't seem to understand why they would do this and I posted this in hopes to find more people that have had this issue and if they did anything to help fix it this issue. Thank you for your concern though.

  • How do I use the same profile for two users on the same computer

I use my laptop both at home and at work. And in each venue I use a different user log on. But I wish to have firefox use the same profile for each user log on. How can I get firefox to point to the same profile for each user?

Note that only one user (Firefox instance) can use a profile folder at the time, so if you would switch the Windows user to another account then you would first have to close Firefox.

You can not change the date of birth on the account. Apple makes that clear up front when the account is created.
The only way to "fix" this is going to be for him to create a new account with the correct information. Any apps purchased with the old one will need to be re-purchased with the new account. They can not be transferred.
