BPEL and data translation

Does the bpel layer do auto data translation, e.g. via xslt? That is, the output from one WS call is typically fed as input to another call and data may need formatting/translation/unit scaling/etc.

there is no option for that at the time being.
good luck

  • Do iOS apps that are ONLINE translators (e.g requires Wifi or internet, such as Google Translate) store every translation you type in the Documents and Data files?

I have several apps that are translators. Many of them are for offline use, (especially ones that cost money) but they keep eating away at my memory with every translation I type. What about the ONLINE translators, like GOOGLE TRANSLATE? Do they store the translations inthe app's Documents and Data, or not at all? Please help me! I'm dying to know! Also, does Google Translate charge you money for unlimited translations, or is it entirely free?

No no no, thank you. However, I learned just now that "flash storage" does not equal "Documents and Data" because I noticed that the Documents and Data for Google Translate increases very slighty with every translation (faster if speaking the translation). But this doesn't bother me at all. Why? Becuz the app size is oh so small (2.3 MB) & every translator (all 50+ of them) is included for free (how dope is that?) without having to download any additional memory for each language. So when the time comes to delete and redownload it due to memory capacity shortage, it still requires only 2 MB to redownload it. I bet that won't harm my device at all. Hey, I can live with that!
Thanks for your support for my question, Deggie, kudos!!!

  • Using Lightroom 5.5:  I can sort images by edit date, but I cannot find a display of the actual time and date of the edit?

Often when working intensely on a large project which spans over days I forget to mark the start and finish time for each session.  When billing clients for time this can create problems.  I thought the perfect solution to this problem would be to sort catalog by edit time, and then by view the time stamps. I could then find the first and and last edit for a session and quickly translate to session time.  The only problem is I cannot find a place with LT displays this information.

It seems to be an oversight in LR -- the metadata field "lastEditTime" is available to plugins via the Lightroom SDK, but you can't use that field to define a custom tagset for displaying in the right-hand-side Metadata panel.
However, here's a workaround that might work for you:  In the right-hand Metadata panel, select the "EXIF and IPTC" preset, and the field Metadata Date will show the date/time of the last time LR wrote metadata back to the file. In Catalog Settings > Metadata, make sure "Automatically write changes into XMP" is checked.  This will cause LR to write develop settings or metadata changes (keywords, captions, ratings, etc.) back to the file soon after you make the changes ("soon after" is typically less than a minute).

  • Purchase Order to Purchase Order using BPEL and/or XML Gateway

    Hi,
Is there a way to do create a duplicate Purchase Order in another instance using BPEL and/or XML Gateway? We're looking to do A2A transactions, namely duplicating data from one instance to another (of course the functional setups would have to be the same). Thanks!!

this is the perfect usace for the upcoming ESB (shuffling data with transforming from A to B) - but this can be done with BPEL too .. there are some solutions to this
    1) on a database level (db to db)
    2) having events setup'ed in the master instance, that fire a process that get's the data
    3) and then using the functions from iRep

Currency translation is done in query with a variable.
    I tried the following solutions:
1.transfer Exchange rates from source systems Via Program :RSIMPCURR
2.I checked in Table <b>TCURR</b> and there exists a exchange rates between CAD to USD.
3.I checked TCODE:  RSCUR the variable exists and created properly.
4.I searched through forums but none of them present a clear solution.
<b>SO can somebody help me to solve this error ,its very urgent</b>

So check in OB08 which gives the overview of Currency Exchange Rates for each month.Check what is the exchange rate maintained for the months u r looking into.
Else ask the users what exchange rates they maintained for those months and upload the exchange rates for those months.
Here is the link which will explain how to load the exhange rates.

  • Way to protect my bpel and esb jar (SOA 10g)  from reverse engineering?

    Hi All
We would be sharing our BPEL and ESB jars with some other company for deployment? Is there a way to protect them so that they are not able to peak into the contents of the jar?
If I extract the jar file, i can see all my XSD, WSDL, XSL, BPEL and ESB files as it is (the same as in JDEV)?
is there a way to protect them? Please help its urgent!

The use of a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is a viable and extremely cost-effective alternative to the HSM, if the encryption and key-management application is designed properly. This is the approach we took when storing encrypted data and encrypted-keys within a database for our key-,management system. However, when using cryptographic hardware modules in your solution (that also meet regulatory requirements for split-knowledge and multiple key-custodians), your design for the solution must be carefully thought out to ensure that the implementation is reasonably secure and that it meets regulatory requirements. Storing an unencrypted key (or password that decrypts a PBE-based key) anywhere on a disk is an invitation for disaster.

  • Microphone and camera translation not optional

I've added permissions for use of the camera and microphone, but the app wont let me select them. Any ideas as to why?

I used the Windows key with the "i" key from within the app to open the options menu on which I then selected permissions and made sure that the app had the relevent permissions for the microphone and camera. I also made sure that I had no other
programs open that were using the camera or mic. It's not that the microphone isn't working, the app won't let me select it.
I am using the app om a Windows 8.1 laptop and whilst I have little use for the camera translation the microphone translation would be rather useful. The microphone works fine with other Metro apps like Sound recorder and Skype and also in desktop apps.

  • Data Models and Data Flow diagrams.

    Hi  Gurus,
Can anybody brief me the concept of Data Models and Data Flow Diagrams and their development with illustrations. And is it a responsibility of a Technical or a Functional consultant..i.e to translate Business requirements and functional specifications into technical specifications, data flow diagrams and data models.
Your valuable answers will be rewarded.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Concept of Data Models
Data model or Data modelling is basically how you define or design your BW Architecture based on Business requirements. It deals with designing and creating a effcient BW architecture sticking to standard practices.

    Data Flow Diagrams
This show the path of data flow for each individual object in BW. How data dets loaded into that object and how it is going out of the object etc.
Right click on the data target > show data flow .
It shows all the intermdeiate layer through which data comes into that particular object.
Responsibility of a Technical or a Functional consultant
This is done genrally in the designing phase itself by a Senior Technical Consultant with the help of a Functional consultant or a Techno=Functional consultant interacting with Business.
    Hope this helps.

  • BUG: Export DDL and Data fails for mixed case table/column names

    Hi there,
I have found a bug in SQL Developer. See details below.
    Description:
When "Export DDL and Data) function is used on a table/columns not named in UPPERCASE, sql generated by SQL Developer is invalid.
    Steps to reproduce:
    - open SQL Developer, connect to DB
    - make a table named "lowerCase" (in double quotes, so it won't be automatically changed to capital letters)
    - you may also add some columns, for example "lowerCol1", "UpCol2", ALLUPCOL3
    - add some data rows to the table
    - choose Tools -> Export DDL and Data
    - check exporting of tables and data, on "filter" tabs choose your "lowerCase" table
    - press "Apply"
    Error:
Generated SQL contains invalid INSERTs: mixed-case table and columns are referenced without obligatory double quotes, which yields an error when generated script is executed (see below, relevant line is underlined)
    -- DDL for Table lowerCase
    CREATE TABLE "DBO_HT"."lowerCase"
    (     "lowerCol1" VARCHAR2(100),
         "UpCol2" VARCHAR2(100),
         "ALLUPCOL3" VARCHAR2(100)
    -- DATA FOR TABLE lowerCase
    -- FILTER = none used
    -- INSERTING into lowerCase
    Insert into lowerCase (lowerCol1,UpCol2,ALLUPCOL3) values ('lc','uc','auc');
-- END DATA FOR TABLE lowerCase
    Remarks
SQL Developer: version 1.2.1, build MAIN-32.13
    Oracle DBs: 9.2 & Express
    OS: Windows 2000 Professional
If you need any more details/testing, let me know. I'd really appreciate a quick patch for this issue...
Alternatively, do you know of any other simple way of copying a single database (it's called a schema in Oracle, right?) from one computer to another? Possibly something so simple like detaching->copying->reattaching mdf (data) files in SQL Server... I thought that this "Export DDL&Data" function will do, but as you can see I couldn't use it.
I just need a simple solution that works - one operation on source to stuff, get the resulting files to other computer and one operation to have it running there... I think that such scenario is very basic, yet I just can't achieve it and I am simply not allowed to spend more time on it (read: our test project fails, my company rejects my "lobbying" and stays with MSSQL :/ )
    Thanks a lot & bye

    Thanks for your reply.
    ad. 1)
You're right. I just wanted to give some very short feedback on my experiences with SQL Developer, so I didn't think starting new threads would be necessary, but as I was writing it became much bigger than I initially planned - sorry about that. I will make proper threads as soon as possible. Having "Edit post" button on this forum would also be useful.
    ad. 2)
Generally, you're right - in most cases it's true that "switching DBMS is a major commitment" and "you will produce terrible code" if you don't learn the new one.
However, I think that you miss one part of market here - the market that I think Express is also targeted on. I'd call it a "fire&forget databases" market; MySQL comes to mind as possibly most common solution here. It's the rather small systems, possibly web-accessed, whose data-throughput requirements are rather modest; the point is to store data at all, and not necesarily in fastest way, because given the amount of data that is used, even on low-end hardware it will work well enough. What's important here is its general ease of use - how easy is to set up such system, connect and access data, develop a software using it, how much maintenance is needed, how easy this maintenance is, how easy are the most common development tasks as creating a DB, moving a DB from test to production server etc. There, "how easy" directly translates to "how much time we need to set it up", which translates to "how much will the development will cost".
Considering the current technology, switching the DBMS in such systems is not necesarily a major commitment and believe me that you will not produce terrible code. In many cases it's as simple as changing a switch in your ORM toolkit: hibernate.dialect = Hibernate.Dialect.OracleDialect vs MySQLDialect vs MsSql2005Dialect
Therefore, in some part of market it's easy to switch DBMS, even on project-by-project basis. The reason to switch will appear when other DBMS makes life easier => development faster. From that point of view, I can understand my colleagues giving me an embarassing look and saying "come on, I won't read all these docs just to have db copied to test server". And it doesn't mean "they are not willing to learn anything new", it's just that they feel such basic task should have self-explaining solution that doesn't require mastering any special knowledge. And if they get such simple solutions somewhere else, it costs them nothing to change the hibernate dialect.
I think Oracle did the great job with introducing the Express to this "fire&forget" market. The installation is a snap, it just works out of the box, nothing serious to configure, opposite to what I remember from installing and working on Oracle 9 a few years ago. In some places it's still "you need to start SQL*Plus and enter this script", but it's definitely less than before. I also find the SQL Developer a great tool, it can do most of what we need to do with the DB, it's also much better and pleasant to use over Oracle 9 tools. Still, a few basic things still require too much hassle, and I'd say taking your schema to another machine is one of them. So I think that, if you do it well, the "schema copy wizard" you mentioned might be very helpful. If I was to give any general advice for Express line of DB/tools, I'd say "make things simple" - make it "a DB you can't see".
That's, IMHO, the way to attract more Express users.

  • Differences in Oracle Service Bus, BPEL and human workflow

    Hi Everyone,
I am newbie, don't know if its the right place to post this thread.
I want to prepare paper on differences in Oracle Service Bus, BPEL and human workflow, can anybody help me.
Till now i came to know all these things are very different, no poit comparing them but still need differences
    Thanks in advance:
    Vikas

    Basic difference:
BPEL : It is used for orchastrating different processes. Its heavyweight and stores instances (stateful)
OSB : It is used for routing data between the applications
Human Workflow : It is used to handle scenarios where manual intervention is necessary.

  • [svn:fx-trunk] 10828: FXG stroke and fill translation fix

    Revision: 10828
    Author:   [email protected]
    Date:     2009-10-02 10:41:48 -0700 (Fri, 02 Oct 2009)
    Log Message:
FXG stroke and fill translation fix
http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/SDK-23257 - Gradient translation should occur from 0,0, not the upper left bounds
The current API only passes in the shape's bounds. I have added a new targetOrigin parameter to IFill.begin, IStroke.apply and IStroke.createGraphicsStroke of type Point. It is the origin (0,0) of the shape in the target graphic's coordinate space.
Changed the logic in the gradient stroke and fills. The x and y transform properties are now positioned relative to the origin instead of to the top left corner of the bounds. If no x and y are set, then the default behavior remains the same.
Removed the centering logic in LinearGradientStroke when scaleX was set.
This API change has been approved by PARB.
QE notes: Need to add tests that exercise this logic
Doc notes: Need to document additions to the API

  • BPEL and B2B Databases

Is there a repository creation assistant which installs the schemas for both BPEL and B2B in the same database? The IRCA script which comes with the BPEL distribution refuses to install into a database which contains the app server metadata repository required by B2B.
I've tried installing the IRCA first into a new database then using RepCA to install the metadata repository afterward. This install completes successfully but I get database errors from both BPEL and B2B following the installation. What is it about these two things that's incompatible? I assume there's some overlap?
Is there a repository creation assistant which lets you install both into the same database?

Sean - This is a limitation that we currently have, and it
is being enforced to ensure our future upgrades are not
affected by inserting the BPEL schemas into a standard
AS Metadata repository. This will be addressed
in the 10.1.2.0.2 of both the B2B Product and the BPEL
    product.
For now I would suggest you keep the AS MR separately
and setup a separate store for the BPEL Metadata on
which you can run IRCA to create the schemas. That
would be the preferred model too - as the instance data
in the BPEL database could get large and would have to
    be managed appropriately.
    Thanks. Raj.

  • BPEL and RESTful WS

Does BPEL and Oracle AS support requesting a RESTful WS in a BPEL Process? If it is supported, which Service component (from jDev's Components Palette) can I use to request a RESTful WS?
Also, what is the "best" practice used in a BPEL Process to compare row of data returned from a WS to row of data in a database table? I was thinking about using an embedded Java that compares data returned from the WS and DBAdapter requests. Is this necessary?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
I haven't worked much on RESTful WS, but they are usually like HTTP GET/POST method, and in that case you can leverage http binding (702.Bindings\HTTPBinding). You can marshal the return xml string in XML object.
Other way can be developing generic proxy service for calling RESTFul service is not very bad idea and exposing it is normal soap service.

  • BPEL and Oracle 8

Are other people out there using BPEL with Oracle 8?
BPEL seems to only barely support Oracle 8 (Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.2.0) e.g.
with oracle 8, BPEL requires a database procedure to be owned by schema owner before it can be used in BPEL ... I don't think this is the case with BPEL and oracle 9
with orace 8, the retry ability as per bpel.xml can have some retry schedule extra retry due to socket read error .. (works eventually)
with oracle 8, you have to manually alter toplink setting to pick up date and time rather than just date ... this is not the case with BPEL and oracle 9
i.e. you can make BPEL work with Oracle 8 but it takes some doing!!

Can you use WebLogic 8.1 SP4 ? BPEL has been certified with that version. We have been able to reproduce the issue and currently investigating the cause of it.
