BPEL Beta vs BPEL Production

Does anybody have a strong view as to the stability of the Beta at this stage. We are looking for a deployment in August and are initially impressed by the Beta, but have not used it in anger yet. Our requirements are very simple - just a simple almost point to point integration at this stage.
Thanks

BPEL Beta3 is quite stable. BPEL 10.1.2 Production will be on OTN in the next few days. So you should be fine with deployment in August

  • Differences between Beta R2 and Beta R3 JDev connecting to Beta R2 BPEL PM?

I have a Beta R2 BPEL PM runing on a Linux server using an Oracle 10g DB as the dehydration store. All has been fine using the Windows based Beta R2 JDev for development and deployment. So... now I have downloaded the Beta R3 JDev for windows and try to create a connection to the same BPEL Server. I notice that the connection wizard is no longer prompting for the username/password in the "connection" info. Trying to test the connection to this BPEL server fails. The question is should this work right out of the box or are their other considerations between the R2 and R3 Betas? Thanks, Matt

Some of the remote deployment interfaces have been refactored between beta 2 and beta 3. The best way to address this issue is to install the beta 3 server.

  • BPEL deployment error in production server

    Hi,
I am deploying my BPEL project on Web-logic server through my JDeveloper 11g. its working fine. but when I selected my different environment for deployment(new one) then I got the following error. Error is due to one of my BPEL prcess "TaskProcess1".
but the same setup when I deploy to my own server its deploying and running very fine.

    Hi,
I also faced the same problem.

#;failure to compile the generated BPEL classes for BPEL process "TaskProcess1" of composite "default/RegistrationUpload!24.0*soa_f19c6537-e518-4c05-940c-688c1ddb2593"
The class path setting is incorrect.
The problem was that I was using Base64Encoder and Base64Decoder classes in my java embedding . But I missed to import the class.
    <bpelx:exec import="oracle.soa.common.util.Base64Decoder"/>
    <bpelx:exec import="oracle.soa.common.util.Base64Encoder"/>
Adding these lines before the java embedding solved my problem.

  • BPEL PM, BPM, BPEL in SOA Suite - what's the diff?

    Hi
I read many blogs, one blog says all are same, other says each is diff. I've got some idea on what each of these offers. But pls clarify.
I'm really confused of the terminology that oracle uses for BPEL PM, BPM, BPEL in SOA Suite.
I'm aware of BPEL that comes with the SOA Suite installation, we develop, deploy and maintain BPEL flows using JDev.
Now, what's this BPEL Process Manager, that is listed in the products section, seperately from SOA Suite? Does it contain anything diff from the BPEL engine that is embedded in SOA Suite?
And What's Business Process Management(BPM). As far as i know, and could think of, is that BPM is a tool for modelling business applications. It is similar to the BPEL in SOA Suite PLUS Modelling capability of the business process. It even has the same components as in SOA SUite like BPEL, Business Rules, Human Flows, Mediators, Adaptors.
So, can we say, BPM = SOA Suite + Modelling capabilities of business process.
To summarise, would you please summarise the components that each of these provide
BPEL Process Manager -- BPEL, _(and what other componens)_
SOA SUite -- BPEL, Bus. Rules, Human Flows, Mediators, Adapters
BPM -- Modelling notations, BPEL, Bus. Rules, Human Flows, Mediators, Adapters
If BPEL exists in all the three, Is the engine that runs it also the same one in all three..?

    Hi
    1. Yes, your understanding is absolutely correct: BPM = SOA Suite + Modelling capabilities of business process. I hope you know little bit of history behind this BPM product and about BEA and Oracle company. Below is some non-technical information about these companies and the products they owned.
    2. Originally I guess, Oracle had SOA Suite like 10g running on their own Oracle application server. It may have had some basic components like human tasks, mediators some basic business rules etc. During the same time around 2006 to 2008 another company by name BEA has Weblogic Application Server and had another full blown process development applications/software. BEA in turn bought from Plumtree like that. Anyhow they had full stack of products like ALBPM (Aqua Logic Business Process Management), ALUI (Aqua Logic UI Portal), ALDSP (Data Integrator), ALSB (AL Service Bus), ALES (AL Enterprise Security) etc. Then Oracle bought BEA Company and Oracle ended up owning all these products. Oracle spent good amount of money, people and technology and did an awesome job in integrating BEAs ALBPM with their own SOA software and put everything on top of Weblogic Application Server. For a while, soa and bpm existed parallely. Like we can install albpm on top of soa like that. But SOA 11g onwards SOA + BPM are completely integrated and provided as a single product. They are not separate any more. We can call that as SOA Suite or BPM Suite. But as you understand, they had all the stuff to create a full blown process application that includes core BPEL Process, tasks, mediators, adapters, email adapters everything. Customers buy this suite of produt. They can develop simple BPEL Process or complex BPM Applications. The advanced features for BPM you can find online like adding Swimlanes/Roles where we can literally drag and drop the Human Tasks in those roles and that takes care of everything.
Oracle retained and rebranded other products like ALSB (Oracle Service Bus), ALES (something like identity management) etc .
In conclusion, your understanding is correct. Now there is only BPM or SOA (use any word) that includes everything and that runs on Weblogic Application Server.

Which is better for music production: macbook air or pro?

The MacBook Pro has higher specifications, depending
on the model, and then CTO additional upgrades.
The Air does not have a Retina display, but has lesser
specs, so that may make a difference. They still offer a
    low-end MB/Pro w/ optical drive, w/o Retina; specs vary;
it may work in your instance. You'd have 14 days to take
a new Apple computer back, so keep that in mind.

  • Communication Protocols while Calling a BPEL from another BPEL

    Hi,
I was just curious to understand that what is the protocol that gets used when a BPEL WS is called from another BPEL using Partner Link ?
Is it SOAP over HTTP or some internal network call in the BPEL engine.
If someone can point to a detailed documentation for it, that would be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Saurabh

    Hi Veejai24 and soa_adf,
Thanks for your replies. My question here was more to analyze if an internal call of BPEL to another BPEL takes the same amount of time as if a BPEL is called from any external application over HTTP. Or the BPEL Engine reduces this time while internal calls and optimizes the performance?
    Thanks,
    Saurabh

  • Dehydration - BPEL 10g vs BPEL 11g

    Hi,
Could you please share information around differences in Dehydration Mechanism in BPEL 10g and BPEL 11g (wrt to functioning, schema, and other imp parameters)?
    Thanks & Regards,
    chaitanya

I will answer my question. I killed the migrating Java process and the migrating wizard will report failure of migrating the .jpr file. Actually, the only thing missing in the migrated .jpr file is deployment profile which I can generate from deployment menu. And I can deploy the migrated process. This works as a workaround.

  • How to deploy a non BPEL process on BPEL server

    Hi,
I am having a process (.war) file. i want to deploy it on my BPEL server, I am trying to deploy it using BPEL console. but it is asking bpel.xml.
should i need to create any bpel file ?

BPEL Console is for deploying BPEL projects. And when you talking about war file, those are web archive files, application server specific. Please refer to the Application Server document for deploying war files. Like for OC4J, you can do the same via Enterprise Manager.

  • Process flow of bpel process deployment in production server

    Hi,
Can anyone please explain me the process flow of bpel process deployment in prodcution server . I mean the procedure that we follow for deployment in productions server , what are the steps that we follow , approval from any teams? .....
    Thanks,
    Beginner.

    A quick answer is:
    1. make sure you defined the Application/Integration Server in your developer (user/pass you have - if not oc4jadmin then one the IT gave you).
    2. Deploy your project to that server.
    3. Choose the correct domain in the Console when deploying.
Is this what you wanted to know???

  • How to catch exception always in BPEL without Hanging BPEL Processes

    Hi,
I am facing a freequent problem with stucking BPEL instances. Some time it stucks at a partner link level, some times at adapter level, some times at embeded java save point. Obviously we know that if there is any issue at some point in the BPEL process, then the instance will rollback upto the last persistance stage and the instance status shows like still its running. Is there a way where we can through the error always and catch and show with an error appearence in the console?
The QA team wants to see plain success or throwing error always in the BPEL console. Showing like a running process state is some misleading look in the BPEL console. How to achieve this?

    Hi,
I have seen some other instances which are in the same state, but its happening even after getting the reply from the invoked partner link.
To explain this in details... Say I have the process A which calls the webservice B. if the process B has a database adapter to insert some data and then the process B will send the status back to the calling process A.
However if the process B takes some more time because of any unknown reasons of database (say its very slow some time due to heavy load on db). So the db adapter may take some time after that it may get SQL error if the transaction is failed, or the successfully comes out if the transaction is success.
In both the above cases the process B sends the results back (either error message or the success message) back to the calling process A.
Now the issues is the process shows the status like its waiting for the process response. but when I go to Audit and see the process then the process B is actually already returned status back but took some extra time than usual.
Now in the process A I am expecting timeout error so that I can catch in catchall, or the success so that it come to an end successfully. But neither is happening.. the process shows like its waiting for the response.
    Any explanation is appreciated.
I am looking at the following logs files.. some places I see like process already completed.. I didn't get what exact reason behind this.
    /oracle/product/10.1.3/soa/bpel/domains/Website/logs/ == domain.log

    HI
Pricing will be carried basing on the pricing
    procedure.
Case1: Prices will be carried out automatically if
necessary condition records are maintained for the
    condition type.
For this you can go to Sales Order-> Item Conditions
In the screen you can click on command button Analysis,
which gives you the list of condition types associated
to the pricing procedure. By clicking on the condition
type you can know the action that has taken place.
Case2: Manually forcing prices for Items.
To do this, you have to populate ORDER_CONDITIONS_IN &
ORDER_CONDITIONS_INX. Also note to identify the item
numbers, you manually pass the item number for each item
in the sales order, use the same item number for
    populating conditions.
      Parameters required:
    ORDER_CONDITIONS_IN:
      ITM_NUMBER, COND_TYPE, COND_VALUE, CURRENCY
    ORDER_CONDITIONS_INX:
      ITM_NUMBER, COND_TYPE, UPDATEFLAG, COND_VALUE,CURRENCY.
Hope the above info helps you. Do revert back if you
    need more info.
    Kind Regards

Also the BPEL process containing JMS adapter is not able to pick up data from JMS queue.
The same adapter was used in ESB service as well, which is working fine. There are no issues in ESB JMS Adapter connecting to JMS Queue of TIBCO EMS server.
