Bpel console and obant command
thank you
can i run program when without working bpel-console?
can i run web service without run obant command?
plese reply
thank you
darshini
ad 1) sure you can - the bpel console is a monitor/mgmt infrastructure ...
ad 2) no, because w/o obant no compilation (ok you can use jdev) but I would rather go to fix that ..
so first of all - can you pls tell us - wheter
a) you can start you bpel server (on windows / startmenu / BPEL 10.1.2.0.2/ Start BPEL PM Server) and if not what error msg you get ..
b) when you open the developer prompt (again startmenu / BPEL 10.1.2.0.2/ Developer Prompt) and just do obant what error do you get ..
and overall, as (if I recall correctly use Windows XP) can you tell us wheter you go t any error during install ... The easiest try (as it takes just around some minutes, and you have not started big yet) - night be to de-install and re-install..

Authentication Failed : BPEL Console and BPEL Admin
Hi ,
I am trying to log in to BPEL Console repeatedly. I am using the user oc4jadmin. I have logged in successfully previously using oc4jadmin.
I read somewhere that a workaround is
"Workaround is you take login_error.jsp off from URL http://<host>:<port>/BPELConsole/login_error.jsp, So your URL would look like http://<host>:<port>/BPELConsole/. This will automatically log you in. Since the problem was with redirection and not with your credentials"
This is also not working for me.
Could it be possible that I have locked this account ? Is so, how can I unlock it .
Any suggestions on why I get repeatedly Authentication Failed ?Hi ,
Thanks for the response .

BPEL Console and 404 Not Found page
Hi!
I'm having problems logging into BPEL Console. Every time I try to do this I get the Not Found Page.
Mozilla displays:
404 Not Found
OracleJSP: java.io.FileNotFoundException:
Set the init-param debug_mode to "true" to see the complete exception message.
If I log in to Admin on another browser tab and then click on one of the domains, the tab with the console refreshes and I can use BPEL Console.
I've been reading abut the problems with capital letters in domain names. Is this the reason?
How can I set (or where) init-param debug_mode to "true". I have BPEL PM installen on Oracle AS.
Thanks!
CheersHi!
Yes, the database with ORABPEL schema is up and running. There are also some records in some of ORABPEL tables.
The only problem I have is with 404 page in BPEL Console. As I said I can login to BPEL Admin without a problem and then by clicking on domain name I can get to BPEL Console. I can then do everything in Console, everything is working OK.
I just can't connect directly to BPEL Console.
Maybe someone knows what might be the cause of this?
Thanks -
BPEL Console and Internet Explorer 7
Hi,
I wondered if somebody has got any experience on the above combination. When I'm trying to access the BPEL console homepage I get an error "Internet Explorer 6 required".
Is there a way around this?
Thanks for any tips/solutions,
KrisNote that the path given above:
<ORACLE_HOME>\integration\orabpel\system\appserver\oc4j\j2ee\home\applications\orabpel_ear\console_war\index.jsp
is valid only for BPM developer installs. If you are using the server install, the index.jsp file you need to update has been deployed to the OC4J instance BPM is using. So you'll need to update:
<ORACLE_HOME>/j2ee/<OC4J_INSTANCE>/applications/orabpel/console/index.jsp
[By default, the OC4J instance name is OC4J_BPEL] -
If you have a BPEL process invoke another BPEL process, when you look under the interactions tab of the parent BPEL process, it has a link to the child process. I would like to know if there's a way to create that link if you use AQ to send a message to another BPEL process, instead of doing a straight invoke.
Hi Chad,
You can achieve by using AQ Adapter on both sides.
i.e.
1. In Invoking Process you can have an Outboud Adapter putting a message in to the AQ Queue Say X_Queue.
2. In the Invoked Process you can configure the Inbound AQ Adapter polling on the X_Queue to initiate the Invoked Process.

Hello,
I just installed BPEL 10.1.2
The BPEL Console and the JDeveloper work fine but when in try to deploy a sample
process like:
D:\Oracle\OraBpel\integration\orabpel\samples\demos\LoanDemoPlus\LoanFlowPlus>obant
i get command not found.
Whats the problem here?
Thanks,
JochenCould be that obant isn't on your path. Start a command prompt using "Developer Prompt" from the "Program Files" menu. This initialises the environment for you.

1) create a xsd A, in this create 2 elements in requestmessage input and xyz.
2) create xsd B, in this make a complex type abc in this put an element on string type.
3) set the type of xyz to abc. and import the target namespace of B.
deploy it and on SOA BPEL console and click on xml source radio button.

user573911you may want to check out commands like xmlforest and xmlelement
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/functions221.htm
copied from documentation
Purpose
XMLForest converts each of its argument parameters to XML, and then returns an XML fragment that is the concatenation of these converted arguments.
•If value_expr is a scalar expression, then you can omit the AS clause, and Oracle Database uses the column name as the element name.
•If value_expr is an object type or collection, then the AS clause is mandatory, and Oracle uses the specified c_alias as the enclosing tag. The c_alias can be up to 4000 characters.
•If value_expr is null, then no element is created for that value_expr.
Examples
The following example creates an Emp element for a subset of employees, with nested employee_id, last_name, and salary elements as the contents of Emp:
SELECT XMLELEMENT("Emp",
XMLFOREST(e.employee_id, e.last_name, e.salary))
"Emp Element"
FROM employees e WHERE employee_id = 204;
Emp Element
<Emp>
<EMPLOYEE_ID>204</EMPLOYEE_ID>
<LAST_NAME>Baer</LAST_NAME>
<SALARY>10000</SALARY>
</Emp> -
Problem to start BPEL Console of Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0
Hi everyone!
I'm writing to yours because I installed Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0 but I can't start BPEL Console. I tried to start it by the option menu of Windows XP and by Developer Prompt, but I get a HTTP 404 Not Found page. When I was installing the universall installer told me that it wasn't possible to set ORACLE_HOME variable because it had a value older than 1023 characteres. So, I continue the installation but I can't start the BPEL Console. The Dos Console teld me sometimes when I put http://localhost:9700/BPELConsole..timed out. So, tell me how to resolve that problem.
I'll be waiting your responses.

Thanks for your responses.
Greetings.Hi,
you said:
it wasn't possible to set ORACLE_HOME variable because it had a value older than 1023 characteres
What do you mean with older than 1023 chars?
I think the easiest way is to uninstall the BPEL Console and run the installer again with correcting the ORACLE_HOME problem... -
Error message in BPEL console when purging instances
Hi
I get an error message in the BPEL console when I Purge All Instances. The problem arised when i patched SOA suite to version 10.1.3.3. (On 10.1.3.1 i beleive this worked.)
======================================
Exception
Operation failed because:
Cannot delete instances.
The process domain was unable to purge the instances from the datastore. The exception reported is: [POL-5130] table or view SYSTEM.WI_FAULT not found
Please check that the machine hosting the datasource is physically connected to the network. Otherwise, check that the datasource connection parameters (user/password) is currently valid.
sql statement: DELETE FROM wi_fault WHERE domain_ref = ?
======================================
I also get a similar error message when i use the search activity function in the BPEL console, and when I use the java-api:s to search among activities.
Does anyone know anything about this error?
Thankyou
//KalleI got the same error, but long after I upgraded to 10.1.3.3.
As this was on Windows with Oracle Lite, I did like below to fix the issue. Unfortunately I seem to have more issues with the BPEL database so I'm going to try to find a way to reinitialize it from scratch.

Oracle(R) BPEL Process Manager - Version: 10.1.3.3
This problem can occur on any platform.
Symptoms
-- Problem Statement:
After upgrading 10.1.3.1.0 SOA to 10.1.3.3 you're unable to access BPEL Console, and get the following exception :
Exception Message: [java.lang.NoSuchMethodException] com.collaxa.cube.ejb.impl.FinderBean.tryLookupInstanceByReferenceId(java.lang.String,com.oracle.bpel.client.auth.DomainAuth)
-- Steps To Reproduce:
1. Upgrade 10.1.3.1.0 to 10.1.3.3
Cause
There has been a problem with the orabpel.ear file in some environments. The issue
can be vefified by checking the size of the orabpel.ear files in the the following locations
SOA_HOME\bpel\system\services\lib
and
SOA_HOME\j2ee\home\applications
If only one of them is of size 2530260, then you have hit upon the cause for this issue in your environment.
Solution
-- To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
Copy the orabpel.ear from SOA_HOME\bpel\system\services\lib (the one that is of size 2530260) to the location
SOA_HOME\j2ee\home\applications (to replace the one that is not 2530260) and restart.

Error in BPEL console (jdbc/BPELServerDataSourceWorkflow)
Hi all,
When I enter in BPEL console I'm getting this error:
The following exception occured while processing this request:
No se puede recuperar una conexión de origen de datos.
El dominio de proceso no ha podido establecer una conexión con el origen de datos con la dirección URL de conexión "jdbc/BPELServerDataSourceWorkflow". La excepción mostrada es: [POL-3011] se ha detectado un error de lectura del dispositivo
Compruebe que la máquina que contiene el origen de datos está conectada físicamente a la red. De lo contrario, compruebe que los parámetros de conexión de origen de datos (usuario/contraseña) son válidos actualmente.
In English: Unable to get a connection to the data source. The process' domain couldn't establish a connection with the data source with URL "jdbc/BPELServerDataSourceWorkflow". Shown exception is: [POL-3011] a reading error has been detected. Make sure that the machine is connected to the net, otherwise, make sure the connection parameters for the data source (user/password) are actually correct.
I'm working with my local Application Server so I don't need to be connected to the net (although, I am) and I have never changed my user and password to enter to the console....
I have a BPEL process that is running correctly (it does some transformations that I've seen the results). When I enter in BPEL console and I look for the created instances I get the error I specified above. I would like to debug my processes, so it is necessary to access to the BPEL console. Anyone knows what could be happening? This error has happened suddenly, I've been able to enter to the BPEL console until today.
Thanks for your help...Hi,
If your bpel process is changing to an OFF state, it means that there is an error.
For example, if you poll a file from a directory, and the file has a bad format, it might change to OFF.
Look at the log files and find out what is the error.

Complex XSD in BPEL not able to initiate from BPEL console
Hi,
The Problem
I have a BPEL application where I need to produce an XML file in the format of an XSD supplied by an external agency. I can build and compile and deploy an appropriate application. When I come to the BPEL console and attempt to initiate an instance of the application. The initiate option sits spinning and will eventually time-out (before I am able to run it).
The descriptive stuff
The full XSD is available at; http://www.arc.gov.au/zip/SEER_Pilot_tech_pack_v1.ZIP
The schema design is of "homogeneous namespace design" (according to the article at http://www.xfront.com/ZeroOneOrManyNamespaces.html) which consists of multiple .xsd files included under into a single namespace. There are essentially 9 .xsd files. The top level xsd (seer.xsd) includes 3 files.
When I attempt to navigate to the initiate area to run the process in the BPEL console I end up (after timing out) with the java error listed at the end of this post appearing in our Enterprise Manager diagnostic log. The error appears to be a stack overflow from an attempt to load the complete schema distributed in multiple files.
An imperfect solution
I have modified to XSD to include all the files into 2 schema files (seer.xsd and types.xsd), with seer.xsd still including the types.xsd. This then allows the BPEL to initiate and completes successfully as designed.
The XSDs are included in the project not separately deployed.
I don't want to modify the externally provided XSDs in this fashion. I do want to provide a working solution, that fulfills the requirement.
Any ideas, knowledge or help will be gratefully accepted.

Switching ON validate xml(Schema Validation) in BPEL Console for AIAtesting
While we were testing Oracle O2B pip, we have recently switched on schema validation by turning it on to 'Strict' so that we can Validate
XML in BPEL Console. Earlier when we were testing we had turned the schema validation as 'None' on BPEL console, and hence everything was working fine and
no errors we popping out while creating sales order in Siebel CRM. But the moment we put validate xml to ' Strict' it starts throwing validation errors.
So can you please help us to know whether it is right to test the Oracle O2B pip by putting validate xml to 'Strict'? If it is fair to test it by switching
ON Validate XML(putting validate xml to 'Strict') then we are getting below error.
We are creating a new sales order in Siebel CRM and when we check in BPEL console it was faulted at UpdateSalesOrderSiebelCommsProvABCSImpl (v. 1.0) .When we checked the BPEL flow it is throwing error at InvokeUpdateUpsert.
Error is According to the xml schemas, the xml document is invalid. The reason is: Error::cvc-complex-type.2.4.a: Invalid content was found starting with element 'xsdLocal1:Process_spcInstance_spcId'. One of '{"http://siebel.com/asi":Process_spcInstance_spcId}' is expected.
Steps for Switching on Validation ?
1) Login to BPEL Console
2) Go To Configuration section
3) Schema Validation changes
a. ON: populate validateXML with value strict
b. OFF: populate validateXML with value none
Really appreciate if you can help..hi
Indeed, the "Validate XML" menu option only shows "Validate XML: 0 errors, 0 warnings.".
But, if you look at the "Design" tab for your schema, the "invoices" element node contains an "xsd:invoice" sequence shown in red. If you change "xsd:invoice" to "invoice" this becomes white and the node can be expanded.
One other thing, registering an XML Schema in JDeveloper like the one you posted, isn't possible without an "oracle.xml.parser.schema.XSDException" (without further details).

BPEL server and java crashes while accessing a deployed process in console
Hi,
I am running BPEL developer version on my local machine (win xp ). If I try to run a deployed process from my BPEL console by clicking on the process name, an Unexpected error dialog box pops up saying Java has encountered an unexpected error. After that the broser as well as the BPEL server window crashes. I have tried both IE and netscape.
Can someone help as this is completely preventing me to test my deployed processes.
ThanksNaah, I said, that will never work. But to my shock and (pleasant) surprise, it does! Here is a snippet of a little routine I cobbled together using LabVIEW for both the Writer and the Reader.
The Writer is on top. It creates a Temp.txt file on my Temp directory, deletes it if it is already there, then opens it for writing. There's a boolean "Done" flag that tells me when the Writer finishes, so I clear it before entering the Writing Loop. Here, every half-second, I write the sequential numbers 0 .. 9, with a New Line to create a Text File of Lines. When I'm finished, I close the file.
Below this is the Reader Loop, designed to start after the Writer Loop has opened (and created) the file. Here we open the same file in Read-Only mode. The Reader Loop also goes 10 times (I could have built in a Stop condition, but this is only a Proof-of-Concept). The loop is initialized with the current File Position (0) in a Shift Register. The inner While Loop is a "Wait for Data to Appear", a loop which checks 10 times a second to see if the File Position has changed, exiting when it does (meaning the Writer has Written Something). It then reads a line from the File (the Read Text function has its "Read Lines" property set) and displays it.
When you run this, you will see the Reader's output, Line, count up, 0 .. 9, and then the program stops with no errors. What fun!
