• BPEL plugin for Eclipse does not deploy ?

As far as I heard there is a BPEL plugin for Eclipse.
Is this correct ? Where do I get this plugin?
Is this true that I can develop but not deploy code
with this plugin?

So what is correct here. All of the tutorials and quick guides are all using Eclipse. I am trying to test 10.1.3 SOA version as I am currently on 10.1.2.0 w/ JDev being my designer.
J-Dev BPEL plugin changed quite a bit, so I wanted to RTFM but they are all in Eclipse.

• BPEL Designer for JDeveloper?

I just installed JDeveloper and the BPEL Process Manager. My organization will be taking over an existing Oracle BPEL project and the old project lead indicated we should use the BPEL Designer.
I have been searching for the referenced BPEL Designer extension to JDeveloper for the last few hours. It has so far alluded me. Can someone provide the download URL: or explain what must be done. I went to the JDeveloper extensions site and it is not listed there.
Is ther a BPEL Designer for JDeveloper?

I downloaded Oracle JDeveloper 11G, the Technology Preview and installed the BPEL Process manager. I'm not able to create a BPEL process as described in the startup screen that pops up from the Windows Start menu when you select JDeveloper BPEL Designer.
I notice when I go the JDeveloper about box/Extensions list that all the BPEL stuff is grayed out with a description that it has been disabled by the user. I didn't touch a thing! How do I enable BPEL in JDeveloper?
I did a search on Google and found a reference to the ide.properties file, but when I search my computer I only find such a file for the Jdeveloper IDE itself and there's no reference to BPEL anywhere.
I'd love to start learning BPEL, but can't seem to get past this obstacle!

BPEL Designer Download, Eclipse Plugin Fails to Install
When installing the .exe, the download does not identify the proper version of Eclipse. It fails stating that the version required is at least 3.0, which is the only version install on my computer
Anyone have any ideas?

David,
This might be caused by the fact the fact that you have the platform version of eclipse. BPEL PM requires the SDK version (full download ~87MB).

• BPEL path for eclipse

When I install BPEL the default path is C:\orabpel as the orabpel quick start tutorial so i can find Oracle BPEL project in the Eclips for new project. but my defalt installation path is C:\OraBPELPM1. For the eclipse I can not the Oracle BPEL project for new project. How can I configure the path for this problem.
Unzip your Eclipse distribution somewhere. The rest of this document assumes you
unzip it into C:\ directory on Windows, so you should adjust paths as appropriate if
you place it somewhere else.

• Visual Swing Designer (for Eclipse)

Hi there
We've developed a client software with JBuilder. Now we want to move
the whole project to eclipse.
Is there a good plugin for Eclipse to design Swing applications? I haven't found one so far.
JBuilder has a Swing designer, and it is very usable for us. Eclipse
hasen't such a Swing designer...
It could also be a external tool, to design our Swing Panels. But it
has to be a visual Designer tool for swing, like the one for VisualStudio and co.
Does anybody know a good Designer WORKING Tool? Maybee as plugin for eclipse?
Greetings,
Adrian

Hi,
It would be good to have some feedback about Swing GUI builders for Eclipse, are they usable and good. I heard much good things on Eclipse and am curious to try (althought NetBeans are still very good for me), but I develop Swing application and porting to SWT is unacceptable for me (it is not so advanced as Swing and I need many features that are in Swing only).

• Crystal Reports for Eclipse plugin and CR XI server

I have a software requirement in which I need to support both internal (CR Eclipse plugin using the report viewer, not sure what the real name of this is) along with external (CR XI server) reporting. In other words, I should be able to display a report (.rpt) that exists on my local app server along with one that exists on the CR XI server. My question is this:
So I have both sets of jar libraries (eclipse plugin and XI server) and I see that some of the them are overlapping (some of the jars have the same name). For the ones that overlap, should I choose the ecilipse plugin or XI server ones...?
One example I found is that the eclipse plugin rasapp.jar contains the POJOResultSetHelper class whereas the rasapp.jar from the XI server does not. In this case, I presume I should use the eclipse version, right?
Thanks for your help!
Louis

Hello Louis,
-If you are using latest version of CR Eclipse plugin using the report viewer,then I would recommend going for JAR files of this eclipse plugin than that of CR XI Server.
-The only reason being Eclipse plugin will give you most updated JAR files.
-Before using JAR files from Eclipse plugin, I would suggest you to update your present JAR files to latest available JAR files.
This can be done through Eclipse using update option.
And once you update them, you can use those JARs.
Thanks,
Chinmay

• Better Design for EJB 3 and Java Web Dynpro

Hi all,
When using EJB Model on CE, to each method a Request and Response are generated. To a CRUD i've 4 methods.
I've a Foo (JPA Entity).
public Foo create(Foo)
public Foo update(Update)
public void remove(Foo)
public List<Foo> findBy...
I think that i could use a Single view for both create and update method. But i will need a separated context objects to each function.
Request_<Bean>_create
Request_<Bean>_update
What is better in this case? a single method createOrUpdate on my EJB? Or a View to each operation?
Best regards

Hi all,
Just to share my decision:
My EJB continue with the methods.
public Foo create(Foo)
public Foo update(Update)
public void remove(Integer)
public List<Foo> findBy...
Was generated one Request to each method.
Request_<Bean>_create
Request_<Bean>_update
I've mapped the both on my Component controller and have created on view to edit and create a new record.
When the record already exists i'm initializing the Request_<Bean>_createElement with record data, when is a new i've just initialize the new Foo object and put on currentElement of update.
On the generic save method of controller, a test is done to decide if the Request<Create> or Request<Update> model Object.
Best regards

• BPEL 10.1.3.1 and customize ...

Hi,
I am working a BPEL Build system (ANT) for the SOA Suite.
Do we have any documentation on the <customize> activity?
I am trying to use it, from the command prompt (not the developer prompt), but I fails to run if it encounters the
<bpelc ....>
<customize>
</customize>
</bpelc>
I get an ORABPEL-01012 exception. file not found in suitcase.
File Processname.bpel cannot be found in the current suitcase ... and so on.
It fails in the compile activity. It all compiles fine if I remove the customize activity...
regards,
Svein Ivar

Hi,
I had the same problem. The solution is: yes, there is some documentation. I opened a SR (TAR:5990483.992) and I got 4 pages of pdf documentation on the new customize tag. Don't know, if I can publish that here.
A short copy/paste of the example showing the idea:
customize ant Task Example
This section provides an end-to-end example of using the customize ant task.
1. Copy the target domain URL WSDL file of the partner link Web service to the
directory in which the bpel.xml file for your BPEL process is located (for this
example, IncrementService.wsdl is used).
2. Open the bpel.xml file in the same directory.
3. Modify the directory path for the IncrementService.wsdl file under the
partnerLinkBinding element to indicate that this WSDL file is located in the
same directory:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<BPELSuitcase>
<BPELProcess src="Invoke.bpel" id="Invoke">
<partnerLinkBindings>
<partnerLinkBinding name="client">
<property name="wsdlLocation">Invoke.wsdl</property>
</partnerLinkBinding>
<partnerLinkBinding name="IncrementService">
<property name="wsdlLocation">IncrementService.wsdl</property>
</partnerLinkBinding>
</partnerLinkBindings>
<configurations>
<property name="testIntroduction"><![CDATA[
This BPEL process invokes a synchronous integer increment service.
]]></property>
</configurations>
</BPELProcess>
</BPELSuitcase>
4. Create a custom build.xml file in the same directory as the bpel.xml file and
the IncrementService.wsdl file that uses the customize task. You specify
properties for the host name, port, domain name, and process revision of the
partner link Web service that map to values set in the
ant-orapbel-properties file.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
Compiling and Deploying a BPEL Process
19-7
<project name="bpel.deploy" default="compile" basedir=".">
<target name="compile">
<bpelc input="${basedir}/bpel.xml" out="${process.dir}/output"
rev="${rev}" home="${bpel.home}">
<customize>
<partnerLinkBinding name="IncrementService">
<property name="wsdlLocation">
http://${host_name}:${port_number}
/orabpel/${domain_name}
/IncrementService/${rev}/IncrementService?wsdl</property>
</partnerLinkBinding>
</customize>
</bpelc>
</target>
</project>
5. Specify values for the host name, port, domain name, and process revision
properties in the SOA_Oracle_
Home\bpel\utilities\ant-orapbel-properties file.
#Development or production environment
host_name=jsmith-pc.us.oracle.com
port_number=80
domain_name=default
rev=1.0
# END OF FILE
This single file is the only location that requires editing between the development
and production environments. For example, if the host name for the production
environment is different (for example, jwilliams-pc.us.oracle.com), you
change it in this file.
6. Go into the main build.xml file located one directory above the bpel.xml,
IncrementService.wsdl, and custom build.xml files.
7. Specify a new target name in the process-deploy section (for this example, the
default target name of compile is changed to compile1).
<target name="process-deploy"
depends="validateTask, compile1, deployProcess, deployTaskForm,
deployDecisionServices" />
8. Create a new target name section below the target name. For this example, a
section with a value of compile1 is specified that calls the custom build.xml
script you created in Step 4. The target name section points to the bpel directory
that includes the bpel.xml, IncrementService.wsdl, and custom
build.xml files.
<target name="process-deploy"
depends="validateTask, compile1, deployProcess, deployTaskForm,
deployDecisionServices" />
<target name="validateTask">
Note: You can use your own custom build properties file instead of
the ant-orapbel-properties file. Ensure that you import the
custom file in the build.xml file.
Compiling and Deploying a BPEL Process
19-8
<echo>
| Validating workflow
</echo>
<validateTask dir="${process.dir}/bpel" />
</target>
<target name="compile1">
<ant dir="${process.dir}/bpel"/>
</target>
<target name="compile">
9. Deploy the BPEL process with ant.
ant process-deploy
10. Go to Oracle BPEL Control to see that all processes deployed correctly.
Works great for me.

• Producer-consumer design for temperature and pressure acquisition

I am working on my first LabVIEW program in version 8.6. I eventually want to be able to take both temperature and pressure measurements (6 RTDs and 2 pressure sensors), write them to files, compare the temperatures, and then turn 9 heaters (2 zones) on and off depending on the temperatures and temperature differences. I will also need to have necessary alarms and emergency shut down if something overheats.
To start, I am just working with temperature. I have made a program that reads 2 RTDs with the NI9217 in the cDAQ 9172. It plots the temperatures and writes them to file. Then it compares the 2 temperatures. If the temperature difference is greater than the user defined difference, an LED alarm lights up. This loops until the user presses the stop button.
The program runs, but then I get a 200279 error. It says that increasing the buffer may do the trick; however, I read online and watched a video on the producer/consumer design, which I think might do the trick. I am hoping with the producer/consumer design that I will be able to sample the temperatures faster (especially once I have 6 RTDs and 2 pressure sensors). Right now it takes about 11 seconds for the loop to run.
I have played around with trying to do the producer/consumer design, but I am not having much luck. I am not sure how to set it up. Do I need to have one producer loop with the DAQ assistant, and then 2 consumer loops (one for each RTD)? If I have 2 consumer loops, how do I then synchronize the data to compare the temperatures that were taken at the same time?
If I only use 1 consumer loop, how do I separate the data that is coming from one RTD vs. the other RTD?
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have attached my current VI for reference.
Attachments:
RTD differential temp.vi ‏260 KB

I have attached my attempt at the producer-consumer design. It runs much faster than the VI I attached in my first posting; however, it has bugs.
When I press the stop button, I get an error 1 (occurred at Dequeue Element).
Also, how do I get the graphs to plot with a fixed axis? For example I would like to see the plot of 5mins worth of data. I have tried turning off the autoscale, but it does not keep the axis from changing.
Any suggestions on how I can clean up this program? When I get to adding more RTDs, should they all be in this same consumer loop?
What would be the best way to add in the pressure data? With another producer loop and another consumer loop?

• How to use form design for both online and Offline Scenrio!

Hi All,
I have created the forms using WebDynpro context with ZCI layout for Online scenario.
There are some fields which need to be prefilled and are read only.. Header fields.
There is no interface structures created seperately but the interface is constructed through webdynpro context.
Now that I have to use the same for offline scenario, I don't see layout in SFP of form. I can create a structure for Importing fields but there is no Layout for mapping?
Do I need create seperate forms for this as I have some prefilled hedaer fields which I can't pass using download beacause there is no context design available for this?
Regards,
Srinivas

you could either create a separate form for your offline form using Data Dictionary interface or use the Data Dictionary interface for both of your forms.
You do have the option of creating your own XML file for your offline form - you may be able to copy the XML code out of your online interface, save it to a file and use that for your offline interface - i'm not 100% sure on this as I've never done that.
