BPEL in PeopleSoft

Hello All,
I am new to this forum and BPEL. I am a peoplesoft Technical Devloper. I like to know what is BPEL and how to use BPEL from peoplesoft perspecitve. Deos BPEL needs seperate license inorder to use in PeopleSoft. Please let me know.
Thanks

It do not replace integration broker, but BPEL leverages IB features.
Type "BPEL" in peoplebooks, you will find information that will help you understand.
Enjoy the relation b/w PS and BPEL:)

  • BPEL in PeopleSoft Data Conversion Process

I am new to BPEL and my requirement is to use BPEL to extract data from PeopleSoft to flat files and load to a 3rd party external system. The same requirement used to be accomplished by SQR...
Can someone advise how BPEL fits in this convesion process? I am reading documents but still not very clear. If there are any online resource, that would help too.
    Thanks in advance!

    1. what are the basic steps i need to manually configure in new box before i do LSMW --- depends on how system is setup - normally you define number ranges manually
    2. what i need to do with number ranges so that assets will have the same asset numbers. --- Define you number ranges to generate numbers externally (not internally) and you can load the "old" SAP asset number in new box as it is.
3.what are the steps to bring asset balances --- read LSMW and/or search on this forum. You will find lots of threads discussing the same.
    4. what are the steps to continue do depriciation in the new system from the remaining useful life ( Ex. Lets say i have asset worth 1000 dollers and use ful life is 5 yrs. lets say 2.5 yrs is depriciated and the current balance is 500. But now iam moving that asset to new instance so that it should continue from 2.6 month and continusly run depriciation.
Once you load APC, Accum Depr and the original useful life of the old asset SAP will automatically start depreciating from the current month onwards based on the remaining useful life/months.
Please always search on this forum before you ask.

  • Integration with PeopleSoft Applications Using Oracle SOA Suite 11g BPEL

    Hi,
I'm integrating BPEL with Peoplesoft FSCM 9.0 Application on tools 8.49 using Oracle SOA Suite 11g. The BPEL invokes the web service method generated from Peoplesoft Component Interface in a synchronuos manner.
I have deployed the BPEL in Oracle SOA Suite 11g using Jdeveloper successfully but I have problem in configuring the BPEL node in Peoplesoft side using Oracle SOA Suite 11g(FMW) . I had done the integration of BPEL with Peoplesoft FSCM 9.0 on tools 8.49 using Oracle SOA Suite 10g earlier successfully by configuring BPEL node properties as follows:
BPEL CONSOLE : http://Host Name:8888/BPELConsole (System with Oracle SOA Suite 10g server for deployment)
    BPEL DOMAIN : default
Using this BPEL node configuration, I was able to ping the BPEL console of Oracle SOA Suite 10g from peoplesoft and hence complete the integration successfully.
Now in order to acomplish Business rules and other functionality, the BPEL application has been developed in Oracle SOA Suite 11g using Jdeveloper 11g. This time I'm not able to configure the BPEL node in Peoplesoft for this integration as I'm assuming there is no separate BPEL console in Oracle SOA Suite 11g. All the BPEL deployments are administered in console (11g console used for deployment of BEPL)
http://Host Name:7001/em (System with Oracle SOA Suite 11g server - Fusion Middleware).
So when I Configured the BPEL node property in Peoplesoft as :
BPEL CONSOLE : http://Host Name:7001/em (System with Oracle SOA Suite 11g server for deployment)
    BPEL DOMAIN : default
I'm not able to ping the Peoplesoft BPEL node to the Oracle SOA Suite 11g. Hence I'm not able to proceed with my integration.
When I searched the OTN discussion forum on BPEL console for Oracle SOA Suite 11g, all threads point that there is no separate BPEL console unlike Oracle SOA Suite 10g. Also most of the articles for Integration with Peoplesoft Application using SOA 11g do not state any specific configuration setting for property of Peoplesoft BPEL node in order to integrate with BPEL 11g. The examples published in OTN still point towards screen shots of integration using SOA Suite 10g.
So I'm not able to proceed in this regard.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Girish

    typo error

    Hi,
I found this document from the Oracle Open World 2009 (maybe you have found it too) :
"Integration with PeopleSoft applications using oracle soa suite 11g BPEL" --> [http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/fmw4apps/peoplesoft/pdf/oow2009-bpel-psft.pdf]
And this could be a little more simple, but have a good step-by-step tutorial.
I think you must read this docs by now, but never come amiss.
    Hope this can help you,
By the way, if you can help me with this I'll appreciate it a lot.

  • Connect PeopleSoft to BPEL:Need Help

    Hello,
I am trying to connect BPEL to People soft and I want to import the data from Peoplesoft to BPEL and vice-versa.
Please Anyone provide me with the details Below.
1.If we have to make any changes in any .xml files in BPEL.
    2.Any configuration in Peoplesoft
3.What input to pass from BPEL to Peoplesoft to get connected.
    4.Synchronous or Asynchronous BPEL Process.
5.what xsd to be prepared in BPEL.
    Thanks.

8.48 and 8.49 connect to BPEL the same way.
When you say, "when I access the generated URL from internet explorer I am getting the following error," do you mean, when you access the WSDL URL or the service end point URL? Since the response has a SOAP-ENV element, I'm going to assume you are hitting the SOAP service end point URL. You can't do that from a browser. SOAP requires you to post a properly formed XML document containing the method/service you want to invoke along with any method/service parameters. The document above tells you how to generate a WSDL document for a web service. You should be able to access that WSDL document from a URL. That WSDL document describes the format of the message expected by the SOAP service.
Did you get to step 2.c in the section "Create a BPEL Process" from the document above? If so, did you see the name of your CI in the drop down below the WSDL field?

    Kris,
I tried your suggestion, but it didn't help. I think the Ci jar file is getting loaded, because when I try to call any other interface whos class files are not included in CI jar file, it gives different error like "Not Authorized (90,6)Failed to execute PSSession request Cannot find Component Interface {LACATION_TABLE} (91,2)".
We verified all the configuration on Adapter and Peoplesoft aerver, every thing seems to be absolutely fine, even I turned on debug log level for adapter but that is not of any use.
I tried searching on the google, it seems many people who used Component Interface Java Classes faced such type of problem, they recommended some peoplesoft configuration, I tried their suggestions as well, but that also didn't work out.
Even though we are using Peoplesoft 8.4 Adapter asks for pstools.properties file whenever the BPEL Process is invoked, this file is there in the adapters lib directory, and jca-app-adapter directory, see below the log.

  • WebServices + B2B Scenario

    hi all,
i want to integrate BPEL & EIS(PeopleSoft). but i have little confusion tht which way i should use.i mean
    1) HTTP - SOAP
    or 2) Adapters.
It seems if its B2B Scenario then we should prefer Http - soap While for for internal infrastructure we should use Adapters.
    Can anyone plz elaborate this....???
Can i use Adapters in B2B scenario...???
    thanks
    /mishit

Short answer is yes....you can use adapters to expose EIS functionality via ESB layer in 10.1.3. For prior releases you need to wrap them in a simple BPEL process.
What is the real use case here? Can you eloborate what you mean by integrating BPEL and EIS. You know that the BPEL process itself is a WS and is invokable over HTTP/SOAP.
Adapters use JCA binding and you need a WS client supporting WSIF to invoke them directly. BPEL and ESB containers provide that functionality transparently.

  • Error in Invoking peoplesoft component interfaces from BPEL process

I developed a sample bpel process to invoke peoplesoft component interfaces.
I followed the steps mentioned in the document.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28997/bpel_pm.htm#CDEICHJB
When I run the BPEL process, I got the following error.

I am sending the following input to run the bpel process.
    <PS8 SERVICENAME="LOCATION" METHODNAME="LOCATION" LICENSE="test">
    <component perform="browse">LOCATION</component>
    <key name="SETID">SHARE</key>
    <key name="LOCATION">ALBERTA</key></PS8>
Can anyone help in sending the right input xml to component interface?

    I do the same thing.
Take wsdl from axis and save it somewhere.
Then you can create a standard project in Oracle BPEL PM. Create partnerlink, give a name and click on first icon to take your wsdl. It will add some needed code, you answer always yes. Then you can create receive, assign, invoke, assign and callback or similar and deploy it.
    Try it through BPEL Console...

  • Synch BPEL Process calling PeopleSoft CI Web Service

Hello....I am trying to create a simple BPEL Process which invokes a PeopleSoft Component Interface Web Service that I created in PeopleSoft 8.9 and when I execute the BPEL Process, the following binding fault is thrown:
    xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">The request string ( Envelope ) is not properly formed. (158,16005) PT_INTEGRATION.CIDefinition.OnExecute Name:getFunctionAndCiName PCPC:3128 Statement:60 Called from:PT_INTEGRATION.CIDefinition.OnExecute Name:OnEvent
Has anyone attempted a similar task and if so, have you received this fault?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Write a simple java class and right click and use create j2ee web service option run the wizard accepting the default's....after that under the resources folder in Jdev u find a .deploy file deploy on the application server...get the wsdl and consume it in the BPEL process.

  • PeopleSoft Invoking BPEL process gets HTML returned and not XML

I am executing a SyncRequestXmlDoc in PeopleCode to call a BPEL process.
In an earlier demo environment this works fine and when I interrogate the log I get a correct Request and Response message :
I have now installed SOA Suite and I am deploying to that and I now have a problem with the Call.
It works.... but does not execute the BPEL Process.
Investigation has found that the PeopleTools Synchronous Message log shows the failing call as returning the HTML form of the BPEL process instead of the XML.
Detailed below are the request and response logs for the working process and then the failing process.
    The question is :
Is the BPEL process launched by SOA suite being returned in HTML form because of a setting or configuration issue or .... ?
I can run the failing process from the BPEL Console without any problems ?

Is this a setting or configuration problem in my SOA suite install ?
Needless to say the BPEL process does not execute.
    Can anyone help ?

    Hi Lonneke
    Thanks for responding....
You are correct in seeing that the two services are different in name.
However they are identical in function.
I created the service POSyncComp in my earlier version of JDev and deployed it to my local OC4J.
Which is launched by a PeopleSoft call using PeopleCode.
I have now rewritten this service in my new JDev and called it POSyncCompInt and deployed to home in an SOA suite implementation.
So whilst I test and before I roll the original service call out, I have both.
I have duplicated the PeopleCode and tweaked the message call, so that for testing purposes, and before I drop the current working version I have both calls in my PeopleCode event.
The original POSyncComp call still works, but the call to the 'new replacement' does not.
Hence the log shows both calls.... with slightly different names.
The strange thing is that the PeopleSoft LOG shows very similar code in the Request Message, but the response from the new call shows the HTML Form that I get if I run the second BPEL process from the SOA BPEL console.
So it looks like it is addressing the URL correctly.... but it suggests that stand alone OC4J returns a different response to the SOA suite which I am using for the new version of the BPEL process.... Is this configuration ?
It hints at the xsd file and the complex message type at entry to the BPEL process.
I can run the new process from the SOA suite BPEL Console with no problems.
I hope that clarifies your question about two different service names

  • BPEL integration with Peoplesoft

    Hi
What are the steps to integrate with Peoplesoft using BPEL?
We are going to integrate with Web Center Interaction at the other end.
I really appreciate if you can share if you have a document or instructions / links on how the same be achieved
    Thanks
    Prasad

    Hi,
I found this document from the Oracle Open World 2009 (maybe you have found it too) :
"Integration with PeopleSoft applications using oracle soa suite 11g BPEL" --> [http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/fmw4apps/peoplesoft/pdf/oow2009-bpel-psft.pdf]
And this could be a little more simple, but have a good step-by-step tutorial.
I think you must read this docs by now, but never come amiss.
    Hope this can help you,
By the way, if you can help me with this I'll appreciate it a lot.

  • Exposing PeopleSoft Component Interface from BPEL

    Hi,
I am trying to expose PeopleSoft Component Interface from BPEL.
URL to access PeopleSoft is: http://10.52.254.169:8220/psp/ps/?cmd=login
WSDL generated from PeopleSoft to access component interface is: http://10.52.254.169:8220/PSIGW/PeopleSoftServiceListeningConnector/CI_CI_PERSONAL_DATA.1.wsdl
I devloped a BPEL and added Partner Link to BPEL.
when I copy wsdl in parter link its not pulling parter link type and partner role.
I am getting error loading wsdl file
Error: Failed to read wsdl file at:"http://10.52.254.169:8220/PSIGW/PeopleSoftServiceListeningConnector/CI_CI_PERSONAL_DATA.1.wsdl", caused by

Any ideas to fix this issue?
    Regards,
    Shanti Nagulapalli.

Could you check that the port 8220 is open?
Also are you able to open the WSDL in any web browser?

  • Integrating Oracle Apps, Peoplesoft, SAP and others using ADF(Portal), BPEL

    Hi,
Our company has various system like Oracle Apps, Peoplesoft, SAP and some custom systems which uses microsoft active directory. All the system has a common User ID but diffrent password as set by the user. For now every user have to remember 4 different passwords and username(in some cases).
We wish to integrate the Authentication process using BPEL. Some thing like a SSO so the user will login into a new application(Build using ADF) like a portal, which will contain the links to all the above stated application. With this new application the user will have to remember only one user name and password and this user name and password will be sinked with all the other applications using BPEL.
Can you guys through some ideas as in how we can acchive this? Is it possible to integrate the Authentication process using BPEL?
    Thanks in advance,
    Deepak.

Why dont you synch ypur users in OPID and keep one username password there and then use external application or portal context to authenticate to all your other applications?
