BPEL Interportability between WBI Modeler and PI ccBPM

Hi,
We are trying to model a business process in IBM Websphere Business Modeler and exporting the BPEL out of it trying to import that into ccBPM in SAP PI 7.0. But while importing the BPEL (and WSDL as zip) nothing gets imported into the process in ccBPM. No error message is displayed even.
Has anyone tried this? Any pointer on this will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Dipankar

Hello Dipankar,
I see two possible causes for not working:
(1) you include elements (such as a role or other human interaction type) in your BPEL. The support of human interaction comes with SAP PI 7.1 - so assuming you use PI 7.0 this will not work
(2) BPEL standard. Afaik you are safe if you use BPEL 1.x.
One option would be to use ARIS as modeling tool. With ARIS for NetWeaver (now available as SAP Enterprise Modeling by IDS Scheer) you may design BPEL and directly export this into SAP PI 7.0 and higher.
Best regards
Michael

  • Difference Between Appraisal Model and Appraisal Doc

    Hi Experts,
Please do let me know the difference between Appraisal Model and Appraisal Documents (Appraisal Template).
I mean in terms of functionality.
when are where to use them.
Through Appraisal model i m unable to create Appraisals for n number of employees in one shot. i.e, appraisals to be created for each individual of a department in one go.
i know this transaction PHAP_PREPARE_PA which will create mass Appraisal Doc's but i want to create Appraisal which can be stored in Infotype 0025.
    Plz suggest.
    Thanks in Advance

    hi
the basic difference you are looking at is the old appraisal model
    and the new MBO
the old appraisal model very much supports infotype 25 and you can view the data in there,
but once you activate the MBO you cannot have the old module active practically.
In the PHAP_prepare_pa transaction can be used for mass dipatch of appraisal documents,
select the second option for the same in the list .
The second option will allow you to select org unit which will  allow to assign to all employees in the selected org. Unit.

  • Difference between webservices model and adaptive  webservices model

    hi
Can any one explain me regarding Difference between webservices model and adaptive  webservices model.
    Thanks

    Hi,
In old WS Model, ithere was no concept of logical destinations.
There if you are using a WSDL located on a server and if the location of the WSDL
changes, your application won't run. The deployed application using the WS Model will have trouble finding
the WSDL. As a result you'll have to again import the
model. Moreover old WS Model does not have re-import functionality.
But incase of AWS Model, you can desine logical destinations and even if the location of the WSDL changes, all you have to do is change the new url in the Visual Admin and not import the model again.
You can visit the following link for more details:

I have just joined. i just want to know that what is the difference between the CTO model and the other models like PSG and F3G in the Thinkpads. Becuse when i put the 7665-CTO in the quick search it does not show me the details of the thinkpad.it shows "ThinkPad T61 Configure-To-Order system". What does that means

    Welcome to the forum!
Just look what Wikipedia and other glossary sources (like this one) do tell you about CTO and you will know where the difference is.

  • Engineer between Logical Model and Relational Model

I am trying to update changes from one model to the other but there are dublicate entries generated instead of updates.
The Logical Model was imported from Oracle Designer, the Relational Model was imported from data dictionary.
Our rule is, that the name of Entities/Tables and Attribute/Columns are identical.
So I changed the Naming Standard of the Logical Model in Preferences
from Separator = Space to Separator = Character with char = Underline.
If the entity is not existing, it is created with the correct name.
If the entity exists, a new entity is created with Namev1.
The same happens when I try to update changes in the other direction.
How can I achieve that the existing entity (or table) is updated and not a new one is created?
Or in other words, is there a way to link entities to corresponding tables?
    Walter

    Hi Walter,
The Logical Model was imported from Oracle Designer, the Relational Model was imported from data dictionaryit's good to import entities and related tables from Designer repository together. Data Modeler will import the link between them and use that link in synchronization between logical and relational model. After that you can import details for physical model from database.
If you don't have tables in Designer repository and keep the same names for entities, attributes, tables and columns then you can engineer logical model to relational and import details from database.

  • Delete Rules between Logical Model and Relational Model are different

Relation Properties in Logical model has three Delete Rules: "RESTRICT", "NO_ACTION", "SET NULL".
    1. "RESTRICT" and "NO_ACTION" are same
    2. "CASCADE" is missing.
However, Foreign Key Properties in Physical model has three Delete Rules: "RESTRICT", "NO_ACTION", "CASCADE".
    1. "RESTRICT" and "NO_ACTION" are same
    2. "SET NULL" is missing in this case.
They are supposed to have "NO_ACTION or RESTRICT", "SET NULL", and "CASCADE".
Please fix this ASAP. It is really annoying in Engineering process. Modeler creates duplicate wrong relationships while it engineers.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
it seems you are not using the latest version 3.3. In earlier versions - delete rule set on relationship was used only in some cases to set delete rule on related foreign key. Now delete rule is transferred to FK as it's defined on relationship.
I assume you are using Oracle database - "Restrict" doesn't appear anymore for Oracle.
    2. "SET NULL" is missing in this case. Most likely the foreign key is set as mandatory thus you cannot use "set null" as option.
Modeler creates duplicate wrong relationships while it engineers. Can you elaborate on that - example?

  • Data comparison between 2 models

    hi,
we've 2 models - consolidation and planning in our BPC 10.0 environment.
we consolidate actuals and send data to planning using BADI embedded logic script.
Some times, we are seeing differences between CONSOLIDATION model and PLANNING model data. So, we'd like to develop an automated process that looks for difference of data between 2 models and alert business, if there is any.
Any suggestions on how best we could implement this process?

    Hi,
    You have 2 options:
    1. Some detailed comparison report in Excel...
    2. Badi developed to compare 2 models on the level of base members and showing the comparison results in script log (only mismatched values with members).
We use 2nd option in the similar case.

    Hi,
In the XI-Repository you can build Business Procces with the Process Builder.
for Monitoring you can use the Workflow Monitoring on XI.

  • Database modeling and -concepts

    Hello,
I'm still quite new to Oracle Databases.
At the moment I'm looking into the topics round "database modeling", "database concepts", e.g. rules to design the tables and relationships and so on.
Maybe someone can help me where I can find some whitepapers, documentations on Oracle sites which show me the best or basic ways how to define tables and relationships between database objects in an Oracle Database?
For example, i heard it would be a good way to put all "not null" columns of a table to the beginning when defining it with "CREATE TABLE"-statement.
Does anyone know where i can find helpful whitepapers or documentations on these topics in the ORacle Technology Network or somewhere else?
Thanks a lot for your help in advance!
    Rgds

First of all you need to distinguish between data modelling and implementation. Because many tools only deal with the physical side of database design (tables, columns, indexes) it is quite common for beginners to miss this distinction.
Data modelling (entities, attributes and relationships) is not a product specific topic and you might be best off looking at generic sites. William Kent wrote a simple introduction to the five Normal Forms. Then check out DataModel.org. Alf Pedersen has some good papers on an assortment of database design issues. If you want a head start on modelling, Barry Willaims has[b]published more sample designs than you could shake a stick at (they are for MSSQL but still quite helpful).

  • Communication between domain models

    Hi All,
I have an event that is being dispatched from a domain model (DomainModelEvent.RESULT) which needs to be received from another domain model (DomainModel2.play()).  I've read in various forums the use of patterns such as Messenger or Presenter being helpful for PM-to-PM or PM-to-Domain communication, but not Domain-to-Domain.  Since I'm using Cairngorm, should I just have these domains dispatch a CaringormEvent that a command object can handle.  This creates dependencies between the model and the Cairngorm framework, but is that so bad?  Since it's a DOMAIN model, it is dependent to the application (which is in Cairngorm) anyway?  Does anyone have any insights on this?

    Hi there,
Do you have a motivation for the domain1 not referencing domain2? Maybe the guideline Options in Loose Coupling could be useful. Checkout the Guidelines section.

  • Difference between database design and schema design

Hi i have visited so many database websites and i found so many people saying we can design a data base for you. Is schema designing and database designing is the same. so many palces i find people saying we have to design data base first in order to create a physical databse. so i am little bit confused. are they same? and also what is the difference between data model and schema?

    > the definition i found for logical data model, physical data model and the definition you
gave for logical database design, physical database design are the same.
Not correct. The physical design is the implemetation of the logical design. These two designs are at different levels. Also, the logical design will be the same. irrespective of the RDBMS product use.
What is incorrect is a designer/architect designing a logical design specifically for Oracle.. or specifically for SQL-Server. A logical design has nothing to do with the RDBMS product (or h/w platforms. app servers, web severs and operating systems used).
So the logical design will always be the same - it is RDBMS independent.
The physical design is fully dependent on the RDBMS product used. The same logical design will be implemented as different physical designs for Oracle and for SQL-Server.

  • Difference between OBIEE Logical Modelling and physical modelling

    HI.
what is the difference between logical modeling (BMM) and physical modelling(Physical layer) in obiee admin tool
please narrate it in definition format
    thank you
    rakesh

    Hi rakesh,
Administrator tool consists of 3 layers
Physcial layer:-It is typically first layer built in the repository.Contains objects representing the physical data sources to which the BI server submits queries. It may conatin multiple data sources. The common way is to import metadat from different databases. You can define joins after import if they are not defined.
Business model and mapping layer:-It is defined as business or logical models of data and specifies the mapping between the physical and business layers. This is where the physical schemas are simplified to form the basis for the end user.We can say data is seperated into facts and dimension tables
Presentation layer:-simplifies and organizes the business model to make it easy for users to understand and query
go through the user guides for all the definition and subject
    Hope it helps you.my points?

As per my understanding both are giving the same functionality. Can you please highlight any difference ?

    Hi Scott
Thanks a lot for the information .This is very useful. However i need one small clarification..
    There are three redundancy model..
1+1  where you need one WLC acts HA SKU
N+1 Where one WLC is backup for all N WLC
Third and last one is , where we mention the secondary and tertiary WLC under wireless tab.
So i want to know the difference between second and third option.
