BPEL PM starts without oracle lite db

HI all,
my BPEL PM standalone starts without launching oracle lite db, i've checked the startorabpel.bat and everything is alright with this file,
i think the problem comes from the modification of obsetenv.bat: i've added
some libraries in the " @REM List of Orabpel and Orabpel related libraries " section, but even when i removed the libraries i've added the problem remains, can anybody help me please?

Install agian and if it work correct congrats, if not in the start in the star_olite.bat delete the folowing line in bold.
C:\OraBPELPM_1\integration\orabpel\bin\olsv2040.exe /debug
exit
The idea of this is to check when ever the olite has a problem or if the olite did not stat up.
From a previous consulting, I installed BPEL in one PC and I had problem running the olite because of JVM Error. The olite indeed started, but exited inmediatly it was run, so i had to remove the exit line to see the error.

  • Starting with Oracle Lite, help needed

    Hi everybody,
I have a desktop application written in Java which connects to a Oracle 10g database and I want to use the same application on ultramobile devices under WinXP. These devices will use the application offline and then will synchronize with the DB.
As far as I know, I need Oracle Database Lite on mobile devices for getting database snapshots and track offline changes. I want to know if I need to install the Mobile Server for managing data synchronization between mobile devices and DB.
Do I need to develop a web-app for managing data synchronization or there is a easier way to sinchronize in this case using only the desktop application?
Thanks in advance for your help and sorry for my poor English.

You want to look at Win32 applications. There are APIs in multiple programming languages that utilize the Oracle Lite Sync API to sync, or you can just use the mSync tool.

  • Oracle Lite with AdoCE+eVb

Please, I'm getting started with Oracle Lite and I want to know if is possible call a PROCEDURE or PACKAGE using ADOCE...
    Anybody can help me ?

You probably mean if you can call a Java Stored Procedure from ADOCE application. PL/SQL packages are not supported in Oracle Lite database. The answer is no. For more information see Developers' Guide for WindowsCE, Chapter 4

  • Startin Oracle lite server

    Hi,
I have installed oracle lite 5.0.1
During installation It has asked for the existing database server paramter( host, port, service)
It has created on user called mobileadmin
Now, How to start the oracle lite server.
If anybody can let me know where the oracle lite exactly
    should be used.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Jigar

The mobileadmin is only for the oracle 9i lite repository. To Start the mobile server you should use a command prompt and type "wedtogo" first. you will see some commands running. If the commands runs correctly then open an IE and type
    http://serverIP:[port]/webtogo
and you should get the server interface. The default user name for the server is Administrator and password is admin. Try if it works.
Oracle Lite is a small DB on PDA and PC. To sync the data between Oracle Lite and Oracle DB server, you need to have the mobile server installed.

  • Oracle Lite service won't start

    Hi,
I need help starting the oracle BPEL process manager.
I have installed the oracle BPEL process manager but it seems that it won't start because the Oracle Lite service cannot start.
When running C:\OraBPELPM\bin>olsv2040.exe /debug in a command prompt, I get the following error:
    Debugging Oracle Lite Multiuser Service.
Service start failed, please check your environment
For more information enable service trace
Do you have any ideas how I can make the Oracle Lite service to work?
Presumably that will also make the Process Manager to start.
    Thanks!

    Hi again,
    the port 1521 is free.
I have installed Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2 on Win2K (BEA WLS).
I also installed Oracle Lite as a Windows service.
When I try to start it as a service through a command prompt, I get the below error:
The Oracle Lite Multiuser Service service could not be started.
A service specific error occurred: 4294966385.
When I try to start it from the Windows Services system tool, I get the error:
    Service specific error -911
I have also checked all ini files in the Windows directory and they look correct.
Any idea what could be the problem???
    Cheers,
    Akis

  • How to install Oracle Lite ODBC driver without connecting the mobile server

My Oracle Lite version is 10g R3.
I am using branch office version application.
I wanted to connect oracle client database(.odb file) via Lite DSN in a windows XP machine without installing the client in that device.
Some of my users wanted to access the client database from backend which requires a DSN entry in that device.Oracle Lite ODBC gets registered in the device only when we do a setup from the mobile server or if Oracle 10g Lite MDK is installed.
I do not want either of this to be done in my user PC. I wanted a ODBC utility which will register oracle Lite ODBC Driver (Normal & Cleint) in the user PC so that i can manually create and configure the DSN.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
    Regards,
    Ashok Kumar.G

    Dear Sir,
Yes, you can find the Driver here

  • JDeveloper 10G (BPEL Designer): how to create db connection to Oracle Lite

I want to create a JDeveloper database connection to the Oracle Lite database installed with JDeveloper 10G BPEL Designer, but haven't been able to find any info on the subject.
Can anyone point me to some info or walk me through it?
    Regards

To connect JDeveloper 10g to an Oracle Lite database, you will need to follow this setup.
    1. Create an ODBC entry for the Oracle Lite database. If you have installed Oracle Lite 10g Mobile Development Kit, you should have a copy of POLITE.ODB pre-installed. Check your ODBC.ini, or run Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC), and follow the polite entry pattern. If you create a new Oracle Lite database, you must create a matching enrty in the ODBC configuration file.
    2. In JDeveloper, create a new connection for your Oracle Lite database.
The Connection Name should match your entry in ODBC for ease of reading.
The Connection Type should be Oracle Lite.
    The Username is system.
    The Password is xxx.
The Deploy Password box is checked.
The Datasource Name must match the ODBC entry exactly.
Leave the rest of the fields as is.
    Test your new connection.
    Enjoy.

JDK version is 1.1.8 which is greater than 1.1.4 installed in c:\program files\jdk1.1.8, My PATH, and CLASSPATH are set in AUTOEXEC.BAT as follows:

With JAVA 2 SDK (ver 1.3 Beta) instead of JDK 1.1.8 I'm getting a different Error message as follows:

also the class file or the jar file looks weird or wrapped in the error message : 'FILES\ORA95_2\LITE\DESIGNER\oldes.jar;C:\PROGRAM'
Another interesting thing I noticed is if I run oldes.exe from Installation CD, the Oracle Lite Designer runs fine, and without error, I'm able to modify tables in the database of my laptop also.
Could someone shade some light on what am I doing wrong here ?
Thanks for help in advance .

The following procedure describes the steps required to deploy the DbAdapter.rar file using admin_client.jar:
    1. Copy the following libraries from server.xml in an OC4J_SOA container to a server.xml file for a new
    container:
    oracle.bpel.common
    apache.junit
    oracle.db.lite
    apache.commons
    apache.jdom
    apache.slide
For example, for oracle.bpel.common, copy the following extract from one server.xml to another and
do the same for all other libraries:
    <shared-library name="oracle.bpel.common" version="10.1.3">
    <code-source path="D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_5/bpel/system/classes"/>

    2. Restart the container to make sure that server.xml was updated correctly.
    3. From the configtools.log file find the opmn port number, for example:
    deployer:oc4j:opmn://dimak.au.oracle.com:6012/home
dimak.au.oracle.com - is the machine name and
    6012 - port number
    4. Launch a new command prompt
and set path and classpath, for example:
    set PATH=$ORACLE_HOME\jdk\bin;%PATH%
    set classpath=.
where in the classpath there is only one entry - the dot, which stands for the current directory.
    5. change directory to the following:
    $ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\home
and run the following command (written all on one line) to deploy the DbAdapter:
    java -jar admin_client.jar deployer:oc4j:opmn://dimak.au.oracle.com:6012/test oc4jadmin
    manager1 -deploy -file $ORACLE_HOME\integration\esb\lib\DBAdapter.rar -deploymentName
    DbAdapter2 -parent default
    where
    * dimak.au.oracle.com should be substituted with your machine name
    * 6012 should be substituted with your port which you found in step 3
    * test is the name of the container you want to deploy the adapter to
    * manager1 should be substituted with your oc4jadmin password
    * $ORACLE_HOME\integration\esb\lib\DBAdapter.rar is the location of the DBAdapter.rar file
    * deploymentName DbAdapter2 - should be different from DbAdapter, as that name is already used in the OC4J_SOA container.

  • Error in Oracle Lite Database connection

    Hi,
I have installed the Oracle Application server 10.1.3.1.0 on my laptop (basic installation).
I tried to define a database connection in the JDeveloper connection navigator to the Oracle lite database. When I test the connection I got an error:
    "Internal Error:Invalid Connect String".
I have defined in the connection tab of the Edit database connection in the following way:
    Driver class: oracle.lite.poljdbc.POLJDBCDriver
    Library: OLite
    Classpath: C:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\bpel\lib\olite40.jar
    URL: jdbc:polite4@localhost:100:orabpel
Could anyone tell me which user and password I should define for the oracle lite database which is delivered with Oracle Application server 10.1.3.1.0?

    Hi,
Did you start the SOA suite on your workstation?
If so, can you reach the BPEL Console
if so, check via Enterprise Manager the connect string in the OC4J instance of BPEL (oc4j_soa -> administartion -> JDBC > conenctions, or data-sources.xml)
Copy the connect string into your OLite config if it works

  • Oracle Lite database Standalone?

Is it possible to install Oracle Lite Database on a Laptop without installing any Mobile Server. We just need a good database management system for the client, we don't need a Mobile Server.
Maybe there are some other solutions from Oracle?!
    Regards Robert

Oracle Lite requires an installed mobile server. The mobile server also requires a Oracle Database Standard (minimum). You need at least 5 oracle standard licences and 2 oracle lite licences (germany conditions).
The Oracle Lite IS NOT a standalone database! A normal Oracle Database Server (Standard or better) is required to hold the repository. Simply start the lite server on a client device and connect to the lite server on this device would be wishful... but it is impossible. So you cannot use your preferred IDE/RAD/DB tools directly against this "database".

  • Oracle Lite vs. MobiLink DB synchronisation

    Hi all
I have the task to analyse several synchronisation solutions on the
market. The analysis will play an important part in the decision for
which solution a quite big company will go for when building mobile
    applications.
Up to know I manly focused on Oracle Lite and MobiLink.
I am sure that some of you guys did the same analysis. May you can give
me some good and important facts I have to take into consideration in
    the analysis.
    thx for any useful hints.
    cheers,
    Michel

    Michel,
Having an Oracle enterprise database is an important first step. It'd be harder to choose Oracle Lite over MobiLink if you also had to be convinced to switch to Oracle in the backend.
A second important comparison IMO is the client database and application development tools (prior to analyzing the synchronization technologies themselves). Both products only support their own client databases (MobiLink and SQL Anywhere/UltraLite or OLite Mobile Server and client database). I'd start by evaluating the client database in each case to ensure it matches with your requirements. Items to consider are:
    - Target platform support
    - Datatype requirements
    - Footprint requirements
    - Logic requirements
    - Driver support
    - other items important to you
I think another important item to review before evaluating the synchronization process itself is the tools involved for building and deploying your application. If the site that will build and deploy the application is already familiar with many Oracle tools such as App Server, OC4J, etc. they may find Oracle Lite a much more familiar environment to work within, which could be a sufficient benefit in time to develop and deploy the application.
In comparing synchronization, I think you'll find both tools have the same basic features. You might consider a few of these items to compare the technologies:
    1) Performance - this might be hard to measure without planning and developing a few test scripts. For a full sync, the upload, apply, download phases in MobiLink are synchronous; each one relying on the completion of the prior to move on in the synchronization process. Oracle Lite's methodology is asynchronous. Your client modifications are uploaded/downloaded from a queue, which in turn works to apply and compose changes from and into the Oracle. This means your client is not forced to wait for upload transactions to commit to Oracle before it can continue with downloading its changes. On a small scale (numbers of users, small amount of data, infrequent transactions to Oracle), the difference in this methodoloy will not display much in terms of performance impact. If you plan to scale up or out, or are working with a very busy Oracle database, you'll find Oracle Lite's methodology will scale better.
    2) Remote administration: It's worth checking into the functionality each product provides to remotely administer the client database. Consider basic use case scenarios now and in the future that might require remote administration and compare the tools each provides to accomplish.
    3) Integration with Oracle: Mapping the differences for Oracle specific features (sequences, etc) is often important.
    4) Consider how the two products handle an interruption of a user synchronization, which can be especially important if you are synchronizing large sets of data.
    5) Check how to manage conflicts and errors in each product and see how that works for your particular use cases. The nuances and application of this is different for each product.
This should help you get started. I'll post some additional thoughts if they come to me.
    HTH

  • Distributing "Oracle Lite Multiuser Service"

I am trying to use the type 4 java driver in my java application that connects to an Oracle Lite database. I found that in order for this to work, the olsv2040 service must be installed and then the "Oracle Lite Multiuser Service" started in Windows. This works well for my development machine, but now I want to distribute this without having to distribute the entire Mobile Development Kit. Does anyone have any suggestions on what can be done to distribute the necessary files/drivers so that I can install and start this service?
    Thanks.

  • How to create a table in Oracle Lite database?

    Hi,
I have installed SOA 10.1.3 on my laptop. Now I am trying to create a table in the database to do some own examples. I have problem in installing oracle database. So I am trying to create a table in Oracle Lite database which comes with SOA suite. I am not able to do it, can some body suggest me please?
    Regards
    Khaleel

    HI James,
Thank you so much. I am able to create table and insert rows and able to select them too. However I am not able to use these tables in my BPEL process for my practice. The DB adapter is throwing some error, any idea?
