BPF Issues?

Hi Folks,
Please correct me on following.
1. Can u create an activity without Performer?.
eg: I have 3 activities (steps)
in 1st step (activity), user (performer) submits data and reviewer approves or rejects the data.in 2nd activity,  i just need a reviewer to review the data which was approved in 1st step. without selecting the performer i was unable to select reviewer in BPF template. suppose if i select performer and reviewer are same then as a performer user has to submit then only reviewer can able to approve or reject.
2. If reviewer rejects then performer activity will be reopened. How can i make previous step reopened?
Thanks,
Naidu

  • Issue with BPF, OVERRIDE and AUTOREFRESH

    Hi,
we are working with BPC 7.0 SP3 for Microsoft and we are experiencing an issue when opening reports or input schedules from a BPF: if we a set the override current view function for one or more dimensions the report is not refreshed and shows 0 values.
The report seems to be correctly configured, and when we open it from the report library (not from the BPF) everything works fine.
The error did not happen with BPC 5.1: we manged to replicate the error also on a simple application with a very basic report (only a cell with EVGET with the override).
Did anyone of you experienced a similar issue or found any possible solution?
    Thanks for your help,
    Davide

    Hi All,
The Issue with BPF is solved.
When we cheked the mbr table populated from data manager package, some of the cols were populated with NULL, where as when populated fron front end(excel sheet), it was filled with blank values '' instead of Null.
When populating the mbr table from data manage package, ensure to fill all the columns of the mbr table with appropriate data or blank values but not NULL. None of the cols should have NULL.
We ensured this and tried the BPF, its working.
Hope this explaination helps somebody trying with automation of dim processing using DM pkg.

  • BPF report issue

    Hi all,
I am trying to create a BPF in which one of the step is to run the Balance Sheet report. In the "Action Detail" I select "BPC for Excel as Interface" and "Report Library" as task.
When I cleck on browse, it does not show me any of the reports I saved in the folder.
Basically, I am not able to figure out how to link an existing report to BPF step.
    Thanks,
    Diksha.

    Hi Diksha,
For BPF reporting, you need to:
    1. Go to BPC Web and then select Launch BPC System Reports.
    2. Select BPF reports.
    3. Select the desired BPF from the BPF Reports category if you want to prepare a standard report, or select the BPF from the BPF Step Reports category if you want to prepare a BPF Step report.
    4. Select the business process flow for which you want to run that report.
    5. From the action pane, select BPF status report.
    6. Specify the start date, end date, orientation and data region to report on.
    7. Click the OK button to generate the report for the selected business process flow. The report appears in a new browser window.
PS: First you need to create BPF in BPC Admin console, then link your reports to that particular BPF.
    Hope this helps.

  • After Upgradation BPF is not working for some users

    Hi All,
We have recently upgraded from BPC 5.1 to 7MS SP7.  we are having multi server setup with one application / reporting server (windows 2003 and one sql server 2008 (windows 2003 64 bit).
Intially before upgradation we don't have any issues with BPF and it worked fine for all users. But post upgradation tasks within the BPF  does not work for other users except for the first two people who first  used it. Other users have the same rights as the ones who can access the tasks.
when they  click on the link it gets them to eExcel and the right application but doesnt open the package or report assigned to the task. It doesn't give us any errors, on the status bar we get a message finalising but does  not getting any thing.
    Any inputs ??

    Hi,
Are you sure that those users have installed BPC 7 SP7 clients on their machine? Meaning that you uninstalled 5.1 clients and installed the new client from http://servername/Osoft?
If yes, you should maybe run a client diagnostic on the machines and also check the Management Console for any error messages.
Hope this will drive you to a potential solution.

    Hi all,
I'm on BPC75 NW SP09, and Iu2019m trying to run the standard u201CCopyu201D package through BPF but it gives me following error message: IMMEDIATE RUN: Error occurred while trying to run the package on the server Data not found in table (UJD_PACKAGES2). It works fine when I run manually/directly in Data Manager.
Here my BPF settings: Interface: Data Manager; Task: RUN SPECIFIC PACKAGE; PACKAGE: Copy; FILE: /CPMB/COPY; TEAM: Company; GROUP: Data Management
I have searched other related threads to validate my configuration and I have also checked the table UJD_PACKAGES2 but it seems to be okay. The only thing that I noticed is that it does not have the TEAM populated in this table.

  • Error while validating a BPF

    Hi Everyone,
I am trying to create BPF as per the How to Guide given on SDN. While I am validating the BPF, it gives me below error -
    BPF: Error reading master data

When I check for the dimension property of P_ACCT, I have added P_Owner there and have added master data as well for the records.

  • Empty BPF in Content Library

    Dear BPC fans,
After I'm happy with my BPF design in BPC Admin and tested it in BPC Web, it works, I started to put it in Content Library.
So inside the Content Library, I created a web page with BPF in it. Strange, the BPF's steps doesn't show up.
I checked the BPF's effective date is fine, security is correct as I can open the BPF in BPC Web.
Do you have the same issue like me or this is a Bug?
Or If you guys have the successful story creating BPF in Content Library?

  • Launching Excel Template from BPF Closing Internet Explorer

    Hello,
I am using a BPF and when trying to launch a BPC Excel template from
Internet Explorer rather than opening the Excel template it is
    immediately closing down Internet Explorer.
    I am using:
    BPC Netweaver 7.5 SP7
    Internet Explorer version 8.0.7660.16385
    Windows 7
A second user in the organization is having the same problem using:
    BPC Netweaver 7.5 SP7 Fixpack1
    Internet Explorer version 7.0.5730.13
    Windows XP
There is a consultant working with us who is NOT having the problem
    using:
    BPC Netweaver 7.5 SP7
    Internet Explorer version 9.0.3
    Windows 7
We have explored all options around BPC security and alignment of BPC
versions on our server and machines. Could there possibly be a
security setting in our corporate internet explorer set up that is
causing this conflict? Any advice would be appreciated.

    Hi,
In a MDB file, the data are stored as continuous pages with a fixed size. The first page, called database definition page, contains the most important definitions of the database. If the page structure in the MDB file is damaged, for example, several bytes
in the head of the file are lost permanently, Access will not be able to recognize the pages in the file and will report this error. If the database definition page or other important data is damaged, then Access cannot recognize the database format and will
    report the error, too.
In a word, as long as Microsoft Access cannot recognize the MDB file as a valid Access database, it will report this error.
You may check if the file is corrupted or used by other user. If yes, please make sure no usres are using the file and do a repair to the database.
I also suspect the file you opened is not load completely.
You may try the following steps to see the result:
    1. Clear your browser's cache.
    2. I supect this issue is related to permission, you may run IE as administrator for a test.
    3. Ensure that the Internet Explorer security settings are not set to high.
    4. May be one of your add-ons that causing this. Manage add-ons in Internet Explorer:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/manage-add-ons#ie=ie-10-win-7
    5. You could add these addresses to the browser's list of Trusted sites.
Also temporary disable or uninstall the security software such as anti-virus software to see if the issue occurs.
    Hope it helps.

  • Can BPF step reviewer be specified to a certain user?

    Hi,
I know that each step in the BPF has to be either "completed" or "reviewed" before going to the next step.
I wonder if this "complete" or "review" actions can be limited to certain users. For example, a step can only be reviewed or completed by a vice-president before a local sales manager goes to work in the next step of the BPF.
    Thank you!
    Sunny

If you look under Component Services - Computers - My Computer - Distributed Transaction Coordinator, you can set the security model for DTC.

Could you please comment on the issue?

    Hi Usman,
    The solution is :
    1. Edit the files updateConfigProperties.properties and
    prependConfigProperties.properties in the installation directory:
Replace the hostname with the value present during the initial installation.
Note that the installation directory is the directory where SAPinst creates its log files.
The original hostname should be reflected in the names of the profiles created by the installation
    (/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile/<SID>_<Instance>_<hostname>).
If the log files of the initial installation are still available the original hostname can also be found in the file jengine.properties in the value of the property box.number. This file is located in the installation directory the initial installation
    2. Restart the installation.
This has to work,it worked for me.
    P.S: Give points,ok.

  • How Tou2026 Create Custom Menu within BPC NW - OPENFILE issue

    Hi Guys,
I built a custom menu in BPC 7.5 using the step-by-step procedure available in u201CHow Tou2026 Create Custom Menu within BPC NWu201D. It uses the OPENFILE option with EvMnu to open dynamic templates describing this limit:
The OPENFILE option within the NW Version can only open workbooks from cached directories in local PC. Therefore, it is a best practice to ensure that OPENFILE only refers to templates that are available as dynamic templates that are cached (updated template version) on all client PCs that are using the EvMnu based workbook.
At the moment Iu2019m working with more than 40 users, which surely will increase. So, I have to find others solutions or automate the local saving:
    - Do I have to ask our users to save locally all dynamic templates?
    - Do you know if I can save automatically (not manually one-by-one) all dynamic templates in all client PCs allowing the OPENFILE option to work correctly?
    - Do you know if there are others solutions, like commands or macro (not BPF), to open dynamic templates from custom menu without local saving?
    Thanks for your answers.

    Hi Nilanjan,
Thank you for your quick answer. I need to open a single dynamic report for each link, not the complete report folder.
OPENWEBFOLDER works correctly, but unluckily it doesnu2019t cover my issue.
OPENWEBFILE could be the solution, but it doesnu2019t work. I used this syntax:
    =EVMNU("OPENWEBFILE"," optional text ","REPORTS\TestReport.xlt")
Clicking it, the system shows this message u201COPENWEBFILE: macro not supportedu201D.
Do you know if OPENWEBFILE works correctly in BPC 7.5 NW?
    Thanks for your support.
