BPF - slow interface

Hi,
I am setting up BPF templates and I noticed that the web page which opens when I click on Business Process Flow from the BPC landing page is becoming slower and slower.
The reason seems to be that the page always loads all the BPFs (with steps and substeps) available to the user, and if the step regions include many items the web page has to load all of them...for all the BPFs.
The problem becomes quite serious if you are running a consolidation project with may entity items.
Is anybody experiencing the same problem and eventually found a solution?
Thanks.
Davide

Same problem too...
It seems somthing related with load balancing.
Did you see the web.config in webserver if they have the virtual name instead of phisical name of application server?
In web .config
<add key="AppServer_URL" value="http://<virtualname>/osoft/app" />
If you solved in other manner , let me know
Regards
Nicola

  • Anyone else annoyed by the seriously slow interface (not internet)

    I've had an iphone since it first came out, and ever since version 2.0 came out, it's been really hard to deal with some of the amazingly slow interface problems it has now. I got the 3g about a month after it first came out, so I'm using that one now.
    My problem is that nearly every application takes at least 5 seconds to load. + or - about 2 seconds, sometimes up to 10. That's a really really long time for an application to boot up. It even does that on the phone and text message applications.
    Even worse is the time it takes to load up the search bar on apps google maps or youtube. Once I've already waited 5 seconds for it to load up, I press the search and have to wait ANOTHER 5 seconds for the keyboard to load up. Even better is I'm not sure I actually pressed it right so sometimes I'll press it again and then the bookmarks will come up when it finally loads....blah. Not to mention even more lag as I try to type. I've tested some of my friend's iphones and they're about as slow as mine, maybe a little faster, but still slow enough to be a pain. Anyone else having problems like this? Or does it just not bother you?
    I've messed with my friends' blackberry phones and I feel like the turtle on those comcast commercials. I press facebook and it's right there...immediately...and I freak out. I show anyone my iphone now and they lose interest before it loads!
    Also, any pointers to speed it up? I know I have a couple pages of applications, so I'm sure if I deleted every app it may go a lot faster, but that doesn't sound like a good solution. I'm also wondering why it's going so slow in the first place. Back in the days of 1.x I had no trouble loading stuff up. Now I'm embarassed to try to show people things on my phone because I press the application and have to practically start another conversation before I can show what I want to show.
    Well there's my rant, I hope 2.2 does a lot of optimizations, because that's the only gripe I have about my phone right now, I can live with some things not existing.

    Just found this post and would like to contribute. My 3G iPhone is very slow and always has been since I bought it last summer. I've been through all the updates that have been issued and now on 2.2 there is no difference.
    In contacts when I press an alphabetical key absolutely nothing happens for 6-7 seconds. When typing an SMS the first letter pressed genies up large and stays like that for 7-8 seconds before it will genie back down and allow me to type the next character. E-mail does the same but sticks on the first character for only 3-4 seconds, wow I'm lucky here then.
    I have Mobile Me and this definitely contributes to the problem, ie with Mobile Me not engaged this awful problem of lag is not there. I booked an appointment at an Apple store in the Genius Bar to show them the problem but their Genius decided it was all due to me having too many contacts, 1885 that I should expect this behaviour and I just had to live with it !
    Not what I was expecting, appalling service and it just came across that he was making it up as he went along. I'd say this is a major problem for Apple and they have directed their staff not to replace the handsets as they know full well what the problem is and a new handset won't cure it.
    Wish they'd rectify this problem properly as it's really spoiling the user experience, slowing down my work and is totally embarrassing to show what should be a cutting edge device to others.

  • Slow interface when using 9-slice symbols?

    Hi,
    Just wondering if anyone else experiences really poor performance within the Flash application when using 9-slice symbols?
    I'm using a Quad Core 9300 with 4GB ram, 512mb 780GTX, Windows Vista (32bit) and CS4 with dual 24" screens.  I have noticed it's slightly better in CS5 with Windows 7 but still experiences similar problems.
    I am wondering if maybe it's related to the dual screen setup. I will try disabling one next.
    By slow interface, I mean clicking on a symbol might take 4-5 seconds to register. Double clicking it, another 4-5 seconds, moving it a single pixel, 4-5 seconds etc.  It gets worse the more symbols there are on the stage.  Hide the layer with them on it and it runs fine.
    I've tried using XP compatability mode, disabling windows aero all with no success.
    I'd be very interested to hear if other people have this issue and if anyone has a solution!
    Cheers,
    Joolz

  • CS6 Indesign - Crashes permanently and/or slow interface

    Hello to the community,
    we have 35 Mac OS 10.8.5 workstation on slightly different hardware.
    We have always 8Gigs of RAM.
    1.) CS 6 crashes permanently and / or the useage of the complete ID-interface slows extremly down.
    Our Workaround for permantly Indesign-crash on user-account:
    > Deleting ID-caches / Reboot > Indesign starts again
    If we start ID6 without deleting caches and reboot the machine on the administrator account Indesign starts normally and works fine.
    Why that ?
    2.) If the Indesign-Interface slows down  (which happens very often after using it for a while),
    a change to the adminstrator-account solves the problem
    > The indesign Interface works fast again.
    But on the user-account u cant solve the problem ...
    > It has no effect to delete the caches (and reboot).
    > It has also no effect to set Indesign to default-parameters.
    Solution:
    reinstall Indesign >>> aftter working for one or two weeks the  slow ID-interface comes back
    deleting useraccount and make it new >>> it seems this solves the problem
    Why that ?
    Regards
    Oliver

    Without seeing the crash report (which you can post on pastebin.com, not here, and provide a link), it may well be a permissions issue. See Cant launch new inDesign CC | Adobe Community

  • Home Sharing - bad & slow interface

    I was looking forward to the home sharing functionality in 4.3, but I think it is a big disappointment. The interface on the iPad is very slow, mainly because it takes ages to get the artwork (and there doesn't seem to be any caching, like on the Apple TV). Also the TV shows seem randomly ordered.
    Apparantly it is not just me (http://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/g3j8e/theshared_videos_interface_in_ios_43_forthe/), but I'm still wondering if some issues can be solved, like the TV show order?

    Mr Al 2009 (and OP)
    I was having the same issue, when I clicked on "shared" on my iPad, it would take forever to load (if it did). The fix for me was to go into iTunes preferences on my Mac and under the "Sharing" tab uncheck "Share my library on my local network". This was the "old" way of sharing music, this is unneccesary if you are using Home Sharing. But might be still necessary if you want to share you music around a company or school perhaps.
    Once I wasn't sharing my media "two ways", videos loaded in about 30 seconds.
    Hopefully this will work for you and everyone else as well.

  • Slow interface and artifacts

    Since I upgraded to a new Mac Pro and Compressor 4.1.1, I've been dealing with a verrrry slow user interface.
    Sending a clip from FCPX to compressor, it takes a lot of patience to simply add a setting and location. Click on the file and wait 5 seconds for it to respond.
    Recently I've noticed my compressed videos have random frames of artifacts and problems in graphics areas (like a white title will have one character that is greyed out; see image)
    Any one else facing similar issues?

    I'm seeing the same graphics bug in Compressor 4.1.2 with some characters showing up gray and not white. This is a title text that is faded in. Sometimes the export works well and sometimes a single character just stays gray and don't fade to white. In this case it's the two 's'. Another time, I saw all three 'e' faded out. This is random, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Very ugly when after a few hours of export you have to run it again (and again).

  • Extremely slow interface

    I'm using iDVD 7.0.1 and experiencing an extremely slow user interface that is essentially unusable. After sending a 2 hour video (3.27 GB) from Garageband 4.1 to iDVD, the interface becomes hopelessly sluggish after auto-filling the drop zones. Any click on the interface results in 20-30 seconds of massive disk activity at about 45-50 MB/s. CPU runs at about 50-60% for iDVD. There is no paging activity.
    Once the disk activity dies down, the interface responds. The next click sends it into a fit again.
    In the map view, if all the chapters are visible as thumbnails, then it takes much longer to respond. I have to keep the map window as small as possible to display as few thumbnails as I can.
    I've closed all other apps, even rebooted, but the problem persists. It's almost like it's reading through the large file trying to find each thumbnail and autofilled area.
    Ideas welcome.

    Please tell us more about the audio track you are trying to use (as in what format its in). Tell us about the source video as well, how it was imported, and from which camera / camcorder.{quote}
    It originated in EyeTV, was exported to iMovie, had chapters added in Garageband and was imported into iDVD. I have no idea how to find out what format it's in. Although it sounds messy, I repeated this exact sequence with a 35 minute long movie witout problems.
    The movie I'm attempting now is very close to the 2 hour limit of iDVD. I suspect the problem lies there.
    {quote}I also need to know how much available Hard Drive space is currently on your startup volume and if any of this audio or video is currently on an external firewire HD.{quote}
    I have 183 GB free on the startup volume. All content is on that volume.

    As you can see from the bottom of my posting, I have 2 GB of memory. At the time of encoding there was several hundred MB free in Activity Monitor.
    {quote}Have you repaired permissions?{quote}
    Yes.
    {quote}I also need you to drag and drop this item to the trash and try the movie again.
    com.apple.iDvd.plist
    Lastly, Restart the computer. Post back if this fails to address this issue.{quote}
    Done. I'll repeat the encoding now in High Quality to reduce the time it takes to test this out. If it fails, I'm going to split that sucker in two.

  • Some Foundation is Crashing - Slows Interface

    Have noticed this several times over the past month.
    Bootup, login and all seems normal. Until you start using the interface.
    Example:
    - Typing text in Safari is very slow. Press and hold a key and the characters stutter onto the screen.
    - Scrolling in Safari was slow and jerky.
    So I launched Console to look at system.log and noticed:
    - Scrolling in Console was slow and jerky too.
    - Usually when this happens the 'magnify' action of the dock is not very smooth either.
    Didn't notice anything obvious in system.log (It would have to be obvious since I don't study OS X logs).
    So, something low-level must be crashing. Graphics card driver? Core image or Core something or other?
    From the profile you can see 2007 MP with dual, dual core processors (2.66ghz) and NVIDIA 8800GT (Legacy, which means the one designed for MPs with the PCIe 1.3).
    Based on zero evidence, I suspect the 8800GT driver. Well actually I do have evidence. When I had the 1900XT installed this didn't happen. But I was using 10.5.2 then too.

    Create a new account, name it "test" and see how your apps work in that User acct? (That will tell if your problem is systemwide or limited to your User acct.) This account is just for test, do nothing further with it.
    Open System Preferences >> Accounts >> "+" make it an admin account.
    If the problem is present in the test account also, then it is systemwide. In this case try repairing this with the 10.5.3 Combo Updater. This is a fuller install, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have applied it before.
    Remember to Verify Disk before update and repair permissions after update from /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.
    -mj

  • Slow interface

    When I click in a layer in the layers panel it takes like a second to select that layer... even worst when I click on the transparency slider on that panel it takes a few seconds to actually select it...
    I'm on machine with 12Gb (8gb assigned to photoshop), 500Gb of free space for scratch disks, quad core processor and an nvidia gtx 285. So I don't think it's a machine performance problem... I have al the latest updates. Also I'm on Mac OS 10.6.6
    Is anyone experiencing the same problems?
    Anone knows how to solve it?
    TIA

    No third party plugins installed. I use Font explorer pro, but AFAIK it does not install any plugin in photoshop.
    No optional plugins AFAIK.
    I have resetted the settings and noticed a better performance, still not perfect though... considering I have a powerful machine. The performance in CS4 is much smoother.
    One thing I have noticed after resetting is that the performance on the layers pane gets even worst when I drag it to the second monitor where all the tools used to be before I reseted the settings.

  • Choose Disk interface extremely slow

    Odd problem. On my MacPro I've been backing up to an external FW800 drive for quite awhile. Earlier last week I moved that drive to my Leopard Server, repartitioned it and reformatted it. I've made it available as a time machine backup destination and my Mini and MBP are happily backing up to it now.
    Problem is on the MacPro when I select "Change Disk" in the time machine preferences it takes forever to bring up a list (at least a minute). On that list I see my local drives and the server drive. Each refresh of the list takes a minute or more (i.e. I click no disk or the server drive). Eventually I get the server drive selected and when it goes to back up it says the drive can't be mounted.
    Any idea what's going on?

    Hello oswaldt,
    Do you still experience the "slow interface" problem with Time Machine?
    I had the same with Mac OS 10.5.4 Server on a PowerMac G5. The problem went away after a fresh install. But now having switched on a MacPro and done a bit of configuration on the server, I get the "slow interface" problem back.
    Here's what I've done so far, so you may recognize something in your setup:
    - Server boot disc is a mirror of 2 x 250 GB (internal).
    - The 2 other internal drives are 500 GB each, and were concatenated.
    - A Sonnet Fusion D500P is connected through a Sonnet Tempo SATA E4P controller card. Tower is loaded this way:
    -- bay 1: 500 GB
    -- bay 2: 500 GB
    -- bay 3: 1000 GB
    -- bay 4: 500 GB
    -- bay 5: 500 GB
    bay 1 and 4 are stripped (STRIP1);
    bay 2 and 5 are also stripped (STRIP2);
    STRIP1 and STRIP2 are mirrored;
    bay 3 is the TimeMachine backup drive;
    All disc mirroring, contenation and stripping were done using DiskUtility.
    [edit]: I've forgot, I also have a 300 GB Maxtor OneTouch drive connected through FireWire...
    The MacPro has 8GB of RAM.
    On the server config side, I have:
    - Fixed IP address;
    - working DNS setup with a custom-made top-level zone for the LAN;
    - freshly started OpenDirectory service;
    - AFP service running (automatic configuration, I've touched nothing);
    - no other service running for now;
    - hostname returned by command "hostname" in Terminal is not <nameOfComputer>.local. It's a fully qualified name like server.gti.lan.
    Note that, on my side, although the interface is very slow, I can get TimeMachine to work. So I suspect there are two problems in your case: slow GUI response time, and then drive-related issue.
    Let me know what you can find. I've seen very few posts regarding that problem, and found none answered so far...

  • Error running a Copy Package from BPF (BPC7.5)

    Hi all,
    I'm on BPC75 NW SP09, and Iu2019m trying to run the standard u201CCopyu201D package through BPF but it gives me following error message: IMMEDIATE RUN: Error occurred while trying to run the package on the server Data not found in table (UJD_PACKAGES2). It works fine when I run manually/directly in Data Manager.
    Here my BPF settings: Interface: Data Manager; Task: RUN SPECIFIC PACKAGE; PACKAGE: Copy; FILE: /CPMB/COPY; TEAM: Company; GROUP: Data Management
    I have searched other related threads to validate my configuration and I have also checked the table UJD_PACKAGES2 but it seems to be okay. The only thing that I noticed is that it does not have the TEAM populated in this table.
    Any idea on how to resolve this issue? Your comments/suggestions are very much appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Time Capsule and Thunderbolt HDD very slow access via wifi enabled MacBook Air

    I have a Q-RAID thunderbolt external drive attached to the Time Capsule.  I use it to archive movies for viewing via a media server around the house (mostly via WIFI).  Using my MacBook Air to access the files, performance is very spotty.  Sometimes it's very fast (monitoring the "Data Received" via Activity Monitor typically > 3MB/sec) and sometimes it's very very sluggish (Data Received < 200kb/sec).  Any idea?  It's not a home network issue b/c when it's slow, i test it immediately against a networked iMac and i can access large files just fine (Data Received > 2MB/sec).  Thanks.

    I have a Q-RAID thunderbolt external drive attached to the Time Capsule.
    You are killing it.. The connection on the TC is USB2. USB is slow.. slow .. slow interface. It is very CPU intensive.. and depending on what the TC is doing it can slow it down like crazy.. the fact is, the TC was designed to plug in a simple drive.. not a raid array. The access to files in the array .. frankly it is a wonder it works at all. But you should move the Q-RAID to a computer with thunderbolt port and share the disk to the network.. it will go at 10times the speed. or maybe 50times or 100times when you have slow speed. TC is not suitable.

  • Open a report using a BPF

    Hi all,
    I'm using BPC 7.0 MS version and I have created a very simple BPF. The first step of the BPF opens a report from BPC for excel.
    When I create the BPF I get no errors. The detail of the action I have set in the BPF is:
    Interface: BPC for Excel
    Task: Report Library
    File: Manager\Report01.xlt
    Team: Admin Team
    When I try to execute the BPF, if BPC for excel is not opened, I'm force to do the connection wizard because I can't see any application nor dimension and after open it, only the initial workbook appears, no the report.
    If BPC for excel is already opened, the excel appears on top of the screen but the report is not opened.
    Has anyone had a similar problem? How can it be solved?
    Thanks in advance and best regards,
    Ana

    Hi Jose,
    I once went to a customer site and they encountered similar situation. Though all the workstations had the host files properly defined, it's funny that some of the workstations could open the excel file from BPF while some of them could not.
    Later they found out that for those workstations having problem, they had to enter BPC server name instead of IP address in order to have the excel reports opened from BPF! Till now, it still remains as a mystery to me.......
    Best Regards,
    Sunny

  • Pretty but slow.

    The new interface is very pretty, but it is also VERY slow and unresponsive. It takes about three seconds to get from the "Now Playing" to the "Main Menu". On 5G iPod video this was less than a second. I would gladly forego all the fancy animations if it would make the thing more responsive.
    -Ron.

    Hello Friends.
    These are the facts, nothing anecdotal
    I have owned/purchased 6 iPods over the years. The Classic is the first to disappoint me and the first one I have ever returned. I purchased my 80Gb. iPod Classic at the Apple store on September 9th and took it back a week later. The slowness described elsewhere here was too severe for me to tolerate and too much of a distraction.
    I have over 100 playlists, most smart. When clicking "Playlists" from the main music window, the 30 second screen time would actually black out the screen before the playlists would appear (i.e. it took more than 30 seconds before the sub menu's would appear).
    Additionally, as many other's have said, most menu transitions were taking 2-4 seconds.
    On a positive note, I will say the sound quality was excellent, but the buggy, slow interface was too much. This is the first time Apple has let me down.
    At least the store manager waived the $24 restocking fee.
