BPM 7.2, analytics, multilingual support

Good day!
We are creating reports by using new BI content and we have a questions about multilingual support.
As we can see the task definition name of a BPM task is the physical name of the task (I mean it is the name of the file task_name.task). Of course we can use user texts, but they appear as a task instance name, not the task definition. Instance task name always have variables so it's not possible to group task properly.
The problem appears with the process definition also - it shows us the name of the process model...
Are there any options to have process and task definition names be translated?

Dear Kirill,
You can translate processes and tasks texts. Here the procedure for translating process texts:
   1. Go into src/bpmn and duplicate the XLF file.
   2. Rename the duplicated file with for example the locale code at the end (for example: myprocess.bpmn_en_US.xlf).
   3. Double-click on the file to edit it and choose the source language in the drop-down list (for example American English).
   4. Click then on the Resource Text tab and translate the texts.
   5. Build and deploy the DC.
   6. Run at least one instance of the new process version
It is required to run at least once the process in order that the texts are visible for hte BPEM/BI connector.
You need then to extract again the texts from the process text datasource, execute the data transfer processes and may be to activate finally the master data content. You will then be able to see the process texts with your user locale in the Query Designer.
For tasks, the procedure is almost the same. The XLF files are located under src/tasks.
Finally, please notice that some issues were found in 7.20 regarding the texts (text bundles are not packaged and are therefore not deployed). Fixes and patches are in preparation (see note 1412368).
Best regards,
-Alexandre
PS: When the process or task texts are translated, the default texts - the one defined when the process or the task was created - are no more extracted. It's therefore recommended to create an additional XLF file with the same locale than the DC locale.

  • Does BPM 11.1.1.7 support parameter roles properties in LDAP?

    Dear Expert:
I know the BPM 11.1.1.5 support paramter roles, but it seems we must extent user properties then using these as parameter,I want to know
can I using properties in user's LDAP properties then using as parameter in 11.1.1.7?
              Thanks a lot.

Here's a blog post that describes how you can get parametric role functionality in any release of Oracle BPM 11g and I believe is far simpler than the out of the box parametric role functionality:  http://avioconsulting.com/blog/creating-parametric-roles-using-business-rules.
The out of the box official Parametric roles feature came in on a second version of 11.1.1.5 called the PS4 "feature pack".  Unless you have  the 11.1.1.5 feature pack or are on 11.1.1.6 or 11.1.1.7, you won't be able to use the out of the box Parametric role feature.
In 11.1.1.7 (PS6) parametric roles started supporting custom LDAP attributes.  There are a lot of moving parts to getting this to work and it takes quite a bit of configuration from (1) the Enterprise Manager, (2) the Workspace, (3) LDAP administrator perspective, (4) the human task, and (5) the WebLogic Administration Console.  On Enterprise Manager, you're editing the JPS provider in the MBean Browser, editing the “addSearchableUserAttributeMap” operation setting and the "SearchableUserAttributeMap" property.  In the Workspace you're adding the parametric roles based on the custom LDAP attributes,  Each human task has to have its assignment set to use the parametric roles.  Your LDAP administrator needs to create the custom attributes and then assign them to users.  I think it's going to be tough finding an LDAP administrator who is willing to add additional attributes to LDAP and then to assign specific people to use them with various settings.  Once people have been assigned to the various attributes, the LDAP admin would then have to maintain them at the attribute level as well.  Guessing there is a way to do it, but I don't believe it is trivial to determine what people have an LDAP custom user property set to a specific value.  If you're using the embedded LDAP that comes with WebLogic, you'll need to also change the adapters.prop to support searching on custom attributes and the new custom attributes will have to be added to the orderingndex and presenceIndex properties.
As you can probably tell, I'm not a huge fan of the out of the box parametric role feature.  The rules based approach described in the above blog:
Works with any release of 11g,
Uses either LDAP groups or the Application Roles defined in the Workspace for the assignments,
It's easy in LDAP to see who the people are who are assigned to an LDAP group and it's easy to assign people to Application Roles and
It is far easier to configure.

  • Multilingual support in AWM 11g

Is there a multilingual support in AWM 11g? I don't see Languages folder in the AW tree.

    Hey Dude,
This looks like a syntactical issue. In your code snippet it looks like you have forgotten the comma (,) after the first argument for the lookup function DENSE
    'INDEXCOL( VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.LAN_INT), "SCOTT"."DEPT"."DEPARTMENTNAME" , LOOKUP( DENSE "SCOTT"."LKP_TABLE"."DEPARTMENTNAME" , "SCOTT"."DEPT"."DEPATMENTNUMBER" , VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.WEBLANGUAGE)))
    It should be
    'INDEXCOL( VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.LAN_INT), "SCOTT"."DEPT"."DEPARTMENTNAME" , LOOKUP( DENSE, "SCOTT"."LKP_TABLE"."DEPARTMENTNAME" , "SCOTT"."DEPT"."DEPATMENTNUMBER" , VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.WEBLANGUAGE)))
Try that and see if it helps. I would also revisit the syntax structure for the lookup when using DENSE just to ensure you are on the safe side but that should solve your problem.
Please award points if this was the correct answer or mark it helpful if it was.
This also looks like a double post so I'll stick with this one for the forum thread.
    Cheers,
    Christian

  • Multilingual support in MDM

    Hi All,
Can multilingual support in MDM convert one language to another language automatically or
Do we need to enter the data in each language manually in MDM?
Can anyone tell me about this future in MDM?
    Thanks
    Narendra

    Hi Narendra,
Can multilingual support in MDM convert one language to another language automatically or
Do we need to enter the data in each language manually in MDM?
MDM can import data into Multilingual forms. If you have data present in various langauges, then you can make your reposiotry as multilingual.
After properly importing the data, You will find the values present in the various languages as present in the Data Manager under the Language Detail Tab.
This process can be done importing and does not require manual intervention.
However, it cannot convert 1 language into other. It can only take in if data is present in different languages.
    Hope it helps.
    *Kindly reward points if helpful

  • Does Weblogic Portal Server provides caching services and multilingual support

I wanted to know whether Weblogic Portal Server 8.1 has got the facility for caching
    services and multilingual support?

is this JSF-portlet.jar bridge file used to create .portlet file from the JSF file so that the portlet file may be added in the portal?
And if you were able to solve the issue by removing the bridge jar file itself, how does that help? if that is the one that would help in creating portlets.
If anyone have been able to create a .portlet file from JSF and deploy in Weblogic 8.1, let me know.
    Thanks,

  • RT Multilingual Support

    Hi,
I am trying to understand the way to develop a multilingual application for the LabVIEW RT Target. RT application will be developed in English using LabVIEW RT and will be distributed in several other languages including Asian languages.
Typically application will read some local language text from the target instrument and will validate the format and values. To do this application should parse the text available in different languages and should manage point and comma decimal separator based on local language convention.
RT has inbuilt support to do these things? Thanks for any input.
    Thanks,
    Venky

    Hi Venky,
Developing multilanguage applications is discussed in this tutorial.  It describes how to localize front panels, run time menus, etc.  It also describes as to what is needed to create multilingual applications.  With regards to your question, LabVIEW does not support inbuilt functions that validate the language as well as parse the text, as described in the tutorial.  I hope this helps.

  • Multilingual support in the content server

    does ECM support multilingual content?
I can't find a component and i haven't found any reference to it in its documentation.
Do i have to create a "language" field myself or is there an option?
What about the workflow? For example, i have a website in 4 languages. Is it possible to configure a workflow where the content can only be published when all 4 languages are accept?
I really can't find option for multilingual content in the server.
    Anybody know more about this?

    hey Passero,
Content server do support multiple lingual content(i mean it can render and store). There is no language filed as of now, so you will need to create it for your own. You will need to customized workflow, you will need to maintain a relation between all the languages (some kind of pointer) so that you know wat different contents are the translations in different languages and know whether they are approved or not.
At the time of approving one you will als need to know the state of others. If you can pin-point your requirement i may be a little more help.
I hope i must have answered few of your queries.
    regards,
    sapan

  • IFS MULTILINGUAL SUPPORT

We have installed IFS 1.1.9 on WIN NT 4.0.
It is a 2 tier configuration (database/IFS on separate machines)
I need to know what IFS NLS parameters must be set to provide multilingual (single byte/multi byte) support (English/Russian).
Does the Oracle 8.1.7 Server also have to default to a unicode char set (UTF8)?

    Elizabeth,
The way you specify different NLS settings is by running the Configuration Assistant (IFCA) is will ask you for the NLS settings. If you run the IFCA for both your tiers you can set them up individually. This is described in the installation guide.
When you choose the character set and lanuguage you have to make sure that they are a subset of the character set you've chosen for your database. This means that you character set in the database always needs to be able to support the character set you plan to use in you different 9iFS configurations.
    Hope this help,
    Hanne

  • Multilingual support for BI Publisher reports

    Hi all,
We are currently using BI Publisher APIs to generate reports. Our aim is to enable multi-language support for these reports. The translatable strings based on the locale are stored in xliff files. Using jedit, UTF-8 encoding is chosen as the default encoding for these xliff files. It works fine with french and some other single byte languages but with double byte languages like chinese, japanese it is throwing the below mentioned error.
Interestingly, with the same type of encoding (UTF-8), the BI Publisher stand alone server successfully supports the multi byte feature.

  • Multilingual support(very urgent , help!!!!)

i have a database(Oracle 8i) with character set of UTF8 and all the languages ie(French,German,Spanish,English etc) are working perfect. but the problem is with japanese. when ever i query the data it appears in Question marks.
can any one give me solution(s) to this problem?

    Badma,
    1. How to Configure the Windows XP Operating system to
provide arabic support? Please go to "Regional and Language Options" from the Control Panel. In the "Standards and formats" group of the "Regional Opitons" tab, select "Arabic (Saudi Arabia)". In the "Language for non-Unicode programs" group of the "Advanced" tab, select "Arabic (Saudi Arabia)", then restart Windows. If "Arabic (Saudi Arabia)" is not listed, then please go to the "Langauges" tab and make sure the "Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages (including Thai)" in the "Supplemental language support" group is checked.
    1. How to configure the oracle 8i/9i databases to provide
both arabic and english? what characterset i need to
choose for saudi arabic? If you're not planning to support other languages than Arabic and English (7-bit), AR8MSWIN1256 should work for you. If you're planning to support other languages in the future, I would recommend you to create your database in UTF8 (Forms/Reports 6i doesn't work with AL32UTF8 database). Please note Arabic characters are represented in 2 bytes in UTF8 while they are 1 byte in AR8MSWIN1256.
2.How to install forms & Reports with arabic support? If you need Arabic translation, then please select Arabic when you're asked the language(s) to install. Otherwise, notmal Forms/Reports installation should work for you.
3.How to dispaly the data in both english and arabic in
    forms and reports?Set your NLS_LANG to ARABIC_SAUDI ARABIA.AR8MSWIN1256.
    Hope this helps.

  • Multilingual support - Arabic language help file

    Hi,
I have to produce a help file (of probably close to 1000 topics) that must get translated into Arabic. Development wants a chm file. We have to send the file out to a 3rd-party translation house. I am pretty much locked into RoboHelp 7 for Word as an upgrade is not on the table.
Is there some specific arabic character set I have to use to get the index and TOC to generate in arabic?
Is there some setting or override so that numbered lists show up with the number on the right nargin (since Arabic is read right-to-left)? Word flips the list markers properly, but in the test CHM file we generated today, it appears on the left.
Would multiple-language support work more easily in a different output format? If so, which one?
ANY assistance will be greatly appreciated.
    thanks,
    Wendy

    Hi Wendy,
Sadly, RoboHelp is not the tool to use for right-to-left conversions or help projects. A decision was made and has not yet been changed that bi-directional languages are simply too costly to implement against the expected return. I live in Israel and would love to use RoboHelp for Hebrew - I actually had a funny discussion with the development and sales teams on this one time (I've tried many times) in which I said - look, forget Israel - we're really small, but what about all the Arab countries - trust me, there are a lot of them.
Bottom line - you can't accomplish this in RoboHelp without MAJOR luck and hacking. Other tools that DO allow you to produce help in Hebrew and/or Arabic are: Webworks, AuthorIT, Flare, and I believe Doc2Help...in other words - many competitors.
I would love to work with Adobe to help bring this functionality to RoboHelp - and have offered. I hope some day they will make a marketing decision to implement this functionality.
    Sorry,
    Paula
