  • Diff betweenn BPM and ccBPM

    Hi Frndz,
Can  u tell me the actual difference between the BPM and CCBPM, and where it is used.
    Thanks in Advance
    Karthikeyan

    Hello
BPM & CCBPM both are identical ..it's diff saying only
BPM is used to implement work-flow spanning across multiple application system against embedding the parts of work-flow in application system. Apart from this it also help achive other scenarios like, bridging synch and asynch systems, alert mechanism, multi mapping etc. Check the BPM overview document in SDN download section.
Check out the use cases discussed at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/de/766840bf0cbf49e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
BPM is mainly used in senarios where extra functionalities are to be done with the source message which cannot be done using the normal mapping and user-defined functions, like
Collecting of messages till a certain count or for a specific criteria.
    Merging messages
    Spliting messages
Processing of error files and sending to specific location and sending alerts.
Parallel processing of two criterias at the same time can also be done using BPM.

  • Nw-bpm and ccbpm

    hi,
can someone explain to me the difference between nw-bpm ("galaxy") and ccbpm (part of nw-pi):
-> what is the usage for both?
    -> how are they related?
-> will ccbpm be replaced by nw-bpm some time in the future?
-> for new projects, is it still recommended to use ccbpm?
thanks a lot for your help!
    heiko

    Hello Heiko,
    to make it short:
    ccBPM:
    - special-purpose process engine for System-centric processes (orchestrate PI messages on the PI integration hub)
    - BPEL-compliant
    - no end-user involvement (--> no Human Tasks)
    NetWeaver BPM:
    - general-purpose process engine with a very good support of Human-centric processes
    - standards-based (e.g. BPMN, WSDL, XSD, WS-Human Task, ...)
There is no explicit relationship between those two environments. Currently, the intersection of common use cases they cover is quite small, although this may change in the future.

  • About WAS and ccBPM

What is WAS and ccBPM , what is the purpose of this components and where we can use this ones ?
BPM and ccBPM is same or different, if different then what is that difference ?
Edited by: Venkataramesh B on Feb 20, 2008 12:59 AM

    Hi
    WAS -SAP Web Application Server
WAS is an incorrect shortform for SAP WebAS. If you refer to any official documentation, SAP always mentions it as SAP WebAS only. WAS is used more for websphere application server
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/f5/81343ecc7f892ee10000000a114084/frameset.htm
WebAS form the application platform for almost all NW components and comes in different flavors as ABAP Only / ABAP + Java / Java Only.
ABAP + Java flavor is the one which forms the base of SAP XI and XI basically uses all the services offered by this application platform. refer help link for more details..
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/17/f1b640c9aa054fa12493e48912909c/content.htm
There are still two types of server:
The WebAS, part of the Netweaver product. Currenttly it's 6.4 withing NW2004, but eraly next year it's called WebAs 7 within NW2004S.
The R/3 server, now called mySAP ERP (2005).
    Since R/3 4.7EE, the base/core for R/3 and WebAs are the same. For 4.7 it's 6.2.
Purpose of SAP XI with SAP WebAS
    for example Adatpers :----
All the adapters written in JAVA(EJBs) and deployed into J2EE Engine .They are JCA (Java Connector Architecture) complaint.
Goto Communication channel > Module and check Module Name.....
That module has written in EJBs and depolyed into J2EE Egine. You can see this module in Visual Administrator > Service > Deploy.
This means the WebAS is supporting this J2EE Egine.
SAP Netweaver is platform indepent means it both OS + DB independent. How it is achieving this platform indepent. That is because of WebAS.
Earlier R2 use to run on IBM Mainframs
    R3 is running on Basis
Now SAP Netweaver is running on WAS. WAS in nothing but basis.
SAP Netweaver WebAS is just an extenstion of R3 BASIS
    ccBPM
CCBPM is a solution providing to a kind of function and to signify little wider sense where integration extend across enterprise and application boundaries.
BPM is used to implement work-flow spanning across multiple application system against embedding the parts of work-flow in application system. Apart from this it also help achive other scenarios like, bridging synch and asynch systems, alert mechanism, multi mapping etc. Check the BPM overview document in SDN download section.

  • PI 7.31 Dual Stack Using BPM/BRM and ccBPM

    Hello,
My client has decided to use SAP PI 7.31, because we have many ccBPM solutions, being used a long time, the idea is install the Dual Stack solution and keep using the ccBPM, at least for while.
But for the new integration solutions, we would like to use the AEX(Local AEX-Based) and connect to BPM and BRM, and maybe migrate the old solutions when possible.
Is it possible, use the both solutions( AEX/BPM/BRM and ccBPM) ? In this case, we will have all the benefits and great perfomance
when using the AEX/BPM/BRM(Local AEX-Based) solution, that we have in the single stack ?
    Best regards,
    Dylon.

    Hi, vishal jain.
Thank you! Checking your link, we will probably choose the third case:
If PI is installed as dual-stack, then PO, PI and BPM/BRM, will have to be installed with different SIDs.  PI on one SID and BPM/BRM on a different SID.
But the question remains... in this case is possible to use ccBPM and BPM/BRM, ok ?
And when using the BPM/BRPM, how is the performance and benefits ?
Are the same when using single stack solution ?
    Best regards!

  • Rename "BPM and Workflow" forum to "SAP Business Workflow"

    G'Day,
99% of posts in the [BPM and Workflow|SAP Business Workflow; forum deal with SAP Business Workflow. It was originally intended for ccBPM which - though they share some underlying architecture - is basically XI / PI.
A few ccBPM posts occasionally appear in the WF forum, but they are generally not answered and more appropriate in XI. These days I usually move them to XI when it's clear that the 'local' population won't answer it.
So to avoid confusion for people I propose to rename the forum to SAP Business Workflow or at least something that doesn't confuse it with XI.
    Any input welcome.
    Cheers,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
Well, you probably already know what I think ;).
If there is little to no traffic for BPM, then let's call the forum what it is, SAP Business Workflow - Or Workflow and Guided Procedures?
Sidebar: I posted a question to various forums a few weeks ago, regarding 'How can SAP, and ASUG WF/BPM serve you better'.  I am summarizing the responses I got below, in hopes that it helps guide you in your quest.  The names have been excluded to protect the identities, but I think there is some very valuable info in here.  Particularly the final point - which I will follow up on with the respondent.
Anyway, you didn't ask for it, but here it is.
    > 1. Have you attended any webcasts related to SAP lately?
No. Not lately, and not ever. (I suppose I am old-fashioned...)
    > 2. Are there any topics related to Workflow and BPM that you think are
    > important for the 'community'?
Integrating workflows and guided procedures - e.g. enhancing existing workflows to use browser interfaces.
    > 3. Looking ahead a year, what do you see as challenges in this area?
Processes that can be executed either in R/3 or in browsers, with information about the process progress etc, as in Guided Procedures. This will probably be the developers nightmare for the next few years.
    1. Have you attended any webcasts related to SAP lately?
-yes I did - quite a few, but mostly on web related stuff and XI.
    2. Are there any topics related to Workflow and BPM that you think are important for the 'community'?
    - personally for me, I still find the guided procedure in Portals not so user friendly and limited. I think more education and influence around GP will be great. I think the community will also appreciate it.
    3. Looking ahead a year, what do you see as challenges in this area?
    - GP and UWL. I think the concept of "IT doing the first time and the business managing their rules" would be challenging. I have not yet seen this happen, especially on the logistics side. There is a session this year on the same topic at TechEd and I look forward to this session. Hopefully it will help us get some insight.
Right now I am struggling with even getting Workflow off the ground and getting the business to understand what Workflow is and trying to have them budget for it. Workflow is still new to the functional group and even getting them to consider Workflow verse alternatives is somewhat of a challenge. I really have had a great consultant that has taken me under his wing and taken the time to teach me. I think we would be a great story for a presentation.
My challenges for the next year, is how to get over the hump of selling workflow to the business and actually getting projects planned out. I don't know if anyone has an anwer to that one. My other challege is how to handle transfer of knowledge and maintaining workflow that has been built by consultants.
    1)  I have not attended many SAP webcasts (just one on Solution Manager in the past few months)  I'm planning on attending one this comming Monday on BPM.
    2) I think understanding UWL / SBWP differences, advantages, limitations on one vs the other, would be an important topic.   Also more information on Extended Notiications
    3) Challenges: Upgrades and impact on WF,  Unicode and WF and having more WF ABAP OO objects delivered by SAP, other than the "Absence Notification" sample.
    1.       I havenu2019t personally attended but as a company we give a webinar once a week and weu2019ve had some great attendance
    2.       Technically I think weu2019re OK. We see the need to tell C-level execs where workflow / BPM can help them in businessu2026.
_3.       Workflow is becoming more and more obscure in the SAP landscapeu2026

  • Is there a way to see on itunes to all my songs the bpm and the key to every song?

I have some external programs such as BPM Analyser or Mixmeister that i can scan all my songs and have the bpm and the key to every song!Is there a Plug-in or something else that i can have that as a "category" on Itunes so dont need to open another program to do that?It will be useful to the same list to have all and don't need to use external program. If someone know something about that please help.

There's a field and column for BPM in iTunes - control-click on any of the column headers to see the full list, from where you can select the BPM column to appear. This if course presumes that the utility you're using will write the BPM information into that field; most will. There's no specific field for the key signature, so the utility would have to write that information into another field such as the Comments.

  • Asynchronous, but need Ack without using BPM and IDocs.

    Hi Experts,
I would like to do a scenario i.e., "Asynchronous communication, but need Acknowledgement without using BPM and also without using IDocs whether it is sender side or receiver side". Please help me.
    Thanks in advance
    Srihari.

Without using BPM will be little longer process. But the alternative way is to add one more receiver in the receiver determination and send some file to that location with the actual mapping getting executed for the actual receiver. and in the second interface you can get the file created at second receiver back to the source location. But this will be little long as compared to synchronous scenarios.
    Flow:
    Source
Receiver 1--> Actual mapping as per requirement
Receiver 2(For Ack)--> Create a mapping with blank file sent to Receiver
Receiver 2-->File Adapter--> Source through 2nd mapping/interface and keep the File adapter pooling interval around 5 sec or less so that you can get the file back to source location.

  • BPM and ADF integration - some questions

    Hi,
I have a few questions about comunication between BPM 11.1.1.5 and Human Task based Task Flow:
    1) What is the best way to pass data (task id, proces id, proces data) from BPM workspace to Human Task Task Flow (and get them as TF params).
    2) Where can I find a description, how ADF app comunicates with BPM process.
    3) Where can I find a description of all data controls created by JDeveloper (BPM Suite) when HT Task Flow is created.
    3) Where can I find a description (and their functionality) of managed beans created by JDeveloper (BPM Suite) when HT Task Flow is created.
    Kuba

    Hi,
Sory, but I'm still not sure, how ADF comunicates with BPM (I know that it uses EJB services and hwtaskflow.xml). But a still don't have an answers for follwowing questions:
    1) I know ADF quite good. Having method in data controls (in our case getTaskDetails()) we need to invoke it somehow. I don't see anywher invokation of this method.
    2) In generated task flow there is some managed beans and params - what is role of them ? Having over 50 task flows , do I need it in all of them. Where can I find description of those beans and params
    3) In our approach we use BPM , ADF RC for UI and Business Components to persist data into database. Only data from payload we need is ID of master-level row. My question is - do I have to generate data controls for all human task ?. In my my opinion it should be only one communication point between BPM and ADF but not the same for all pair human task --> task flow.
All infomation I need from BPM is:
    - task ID
    - task flow name (to open apriopriate tab in my application)
    - available outcomes
    - to know is BPM operation is enabled

  • BPM and SOA will Support Windows Server 2003 R2 x64

    Hello All -
Can you please tell me, BPM and SOA Suite (10g and 11g) can support the following Server?
    Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 Edition Service Pack2.
    Thanks in advance.

Here's where you can find the compatibility matrix for Oracle BPM 10g with platforms, operating systems, JVMs and databases: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bpm/obpm-config-matrix-085247.html#bpms1032
Getting the same compatibility information for Oracle BPM 11g proves a bit more difficult. The closest I've come to finding a similar list is when I went to http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/E18558_01/fusion_requirements.htm. Sure others will have fond an easier route to the information for 11g.

  • BPM and Webservices

I'm new in using of BPM and Webservices
Netweaver version  is  CE 7.2 SPS03
I use Web dynpro to write a ap to trigger web service for start BPM process.
It took about 40 sec for waiting response when i trigger the synchronous web service.
And i get a exception  "DEFAULT_WS_METADATA_DEST. The server response timed out"
But  i check my process status, it is running ok.
When I tested for asynchronous web service ,I get quick response for it
Does this version only support asynchronous web service?
Do I need another configuration to use synchronous web service?

    Hi
For process start you need a asynchronus web service (no output / response).
Also, you can use a synchronus one if you are aware of this: If you use a synchron web service, you have to model a parallel split at the beginning of the process and finishing one of both tokens directly. This way, a response is generated when the first token hits the end event and the rest of the process is handled asynchronus.

    Hi Naveen,
Netweaver BPM is shipped as part of Netweaver Composition Environment starting version 7.1 EHP1 and now CE 7.2 is also out. It wont be possible to run on ABAP stack. Also if you want to start learning then you may start with the following links:

  • BPM and ESB

Please tell the difference between BPM and ESB.

    Basically, and very briefly
ESB is used to proxy disparate services running on the backed in a unifed way.
BPM is used to orchestrate business processes using services exposed by an ESB. A process can be exposed as a service too.
Normally BPM sits on top of an ESB to provide the process layer into the global architecture.
    Hope it helps clarifying.
