BPM Developers and Process Modelers

Hi, I am currently looking for Metastorm Developers and Process Modelers. The projects are located in NJ and NY. I am having a hard time finding people with this experience and I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction. Any guidance is greatly appreciated!
Thank You!

Thanks for your feedback.
We want to implement a SAP BPM scenario in a finance process for the VAT Tax reporting. So basically, our accountant needs to run some SAP transactions along with some manual outside steps. Then the supervisor will perform some checks and finally the tax manager needs to approve it.
There is some interactions with SAP but only for a small part of the process. What we want to achieve is to be able to see the key performance indicator for our process. But at the moment this is not delivered with SAP BPM. I've heard that this may come in the next release end of 2009, but in the meanwhile I'm wondering if other people have been able to implement some customization in Net Weaver or have found other alternatives to be able to monitor their process adequately.
Thanks
Martin

  • PAPI WS and Process Webservice in the same BPM process

    Hello All -
Can we use PAPI-WS and Process Webservice in the same BPM process?
Here is my plan for usage.
    i. Use PAPI-WS for instance creation, workflow details and getting process instances.
ii. Use Process Webservice to execute particular task.
Did any one tried this and / or any idea on this?
    BR,
    Justin.

    Hi,
You can use both interfaces but keep in mind that when exposing a process as a webservice the two activities that you can invoke are the Begin and the Notification Wait.

  • Diff Between Oracle BPM Studio and Oracle BPEL Process Manager

1)What is the difference between Oracle BPM Studio and Oracle BPEL Process Manager?
2)What is the connection between Oracle BPM Studio and Oracle BPEL Process Manager?

    Hi,
As of today you should install SOA Suite 11g
Fr this you will need to install Database (for development you can use XE)
Run RCU utility to crete DB schemas for SOA Suite.
    Install Weblogic server
Install SOA Suite as an option to Weblogic
    Create SOA Domain.
It is physically possible to do it in 2GB but is far better on 3 - 4GB
You can consider installing DB on different machine.

  • How to localize HumanTask names and process names of oracle BPM process ?

Anybody known how to localize HumanTask names and process names of oracle BPM process ?

Oracle Apex is an API, if that helps you understand / visualize. You do not start Apex process nor stop it.
When an Apex session starts it starts calling the API.
You can however start / stop the listener. It may be OHS, ApexListener and the J2EE container running it, OC4J or any other "server" that you are using.
The built-in EPG is something like an API again, you cannot start / stop it but you can disable/enable it with DBMS_XDB.SETHTTPPORT API.

  • Free Visual Composer session for BPM Users (and win an iPod!)

Hello to all BPM fans and users!
We would like to invite you to a free online session that focuses on creating UIs for your human tasks in BPM, using Visual Composer ! Forget all these Web Dynpro APIs and focus on what's really important - your user. With Visual Composer, you can seamlessly create UIs that use data coming from the BPM process and send data from the task to the process.
You can integrate a variety of UI elements and manipulate data inside the Visual Composer model, insert Flex elements, and also add Web Dynpro components and UI if you realize that something is still missing.
The first of several online sessions will take place on Thursday 3/6/2010 13:00 GMT+2 and you're all invited. Attend the session for a chance to win an iPod !
Weu2019ll have more of these sessions, focusing on other more advanced topics of Visual Composer. To receive the session connection data, please send us an email to visualcomposer @ sap.com and tell us a bit about yourself: your role in your company, the kind of projects you usually do, and the level of knowledge and experience you have with Visual Composer (if any).

    San,
A similar issue has been resolved here ... give it a try -
    BPE_ADAPTER:MESSAGE_NOT_USED
When you double-click on Integration Process, you will get an option for Repeat Activation on the right-hand side header.
    Hope this helps.

  • BPM :: Messages not processed at outbound side

    Hi Experts,
We have 1000+ synchronous messages with BPM  for only two days in July which havent processed fully. Now oncoming messages are getting processed fine, but the messages which were waiting for outbound processing from July are still waiting.
inbound side there is a success flag and outbound side it is showing a clock symbol(looks like scenario is collecting / waiting)... cant see any failed/waiting messages iin queues .. when I checked the workflow logs few are showing workflow manually edited and processed after exception.
The date messages were triggered are 10/Jun and seems one or more messages were edited on 17/jun later.
Now we would like to know which workflow thrown the exception and what they have done during manual operation.
And how to process the remaining holding messages.
Thanks in advance for you ideas and suggestions.

    Hi,
As you pointed out in your post that
"inbound side there is a success flag and outbound side it is showing a clock symbol(looks like scenario is collecting / waiting)... "
Now you have not explained your scenario completely. Still from the problem statement I can say that The BPM is waiting for some messages. There are three possible scenarios where you can see the clock symbol.
You have the option of collecting multiple messages for an interface and bundling them into one message, for example, individual sales order items into one sales order. To do so, you need to define a receiver step within a loop. The loop can finish in a variety of ways.
Payload-Dependent  => The loop finishes when the number of messages received matches the number specified in the payload of the messages.
Time-Dependent   => The loop finishes at a specified point in time.
Message-Dependent => The loop finishes when a specific message is received.
Once all the messages have been received, a transformation step bundles the messages collected in the container element and from them creates a message in the container element .This message is then sent by a subsequent send step.
The processes use one of the abstract interfaces as an inbound interface, and the other as an outbound interface.
Your BPM cannot be time dependant, otherwise it would have completed processing by now.
Either your BPM is message dependant or payload dependant. You need to find this out.
Check out the correlation (if) used in BPM, and the condition in BPM which stops the message collection.
Plesae check SXMB_MONI and study the messages which have been succesfully processed by the BPM, so if your BPM is message dependant you have to find out what message it needs to stop collecting the message, this you can do by studying the successful message processed by the BPM. In this case your BPM will contain a FORK step. In one branch of FORK step there will be a receive step, this is the step where you can find the message required to complete waiting stage of the BPM.
Check if this message has arrived or not.
If your BPM is Payload dependant, find out whether number of messages received by the BPM matches the  expected count or not. In this case the BPM must have a container operation to count the messages received. If the count is less than required value, the BPM will remain in waiting  state.

  • BPM 11g support process archive

    Hi,
Is BPM 11g suppots process archive?
Can anyone help me on that?
    Regards,
    Anandh P

    Hi Raj
    1. Terminate means you want to End that Process no matter where it is at any instance of time. Say if I have BPM Process with 10 SwimLanes it can be at any of the Lanes with any User. I am taking simple Example with Human Tasks, but you can apply for other component like Timer servces etc.
    2. I hope you are aware of 2 things specially for Human Tasks: Action named "Withdraw" and a role named "Process Owner". For any human task, under Actions menu you should See a Withdraw option. You can code your application to capture this output using XOR gateway and if outcome is "WITHDRAW" directly end the process and go to End Node. If you have many places like this, there is easy way instead of running wires eveywhere. Create a simple throw even that goes to End Node. And after each human task check outcome if Withdraw, that that error, which will end the process. I hope you got the point.
    b) The reason I mentioned Process Owner is, generally I do NOT give Withdraw control to each User who can work on any Task. If accidentally that User do this action, thats it. The process ENDS and you can never retriive it back. So under .TASK file, I preven Withdraw action to Asssignee and Instead give this action only to OWNER (Process Owner). Process owner is like admin who can pretty much see any tasks and I would give him all the permissions like these Withdraw, Reassing, Suspend etc etc. This gives more controlled power to your application. Anyhow, in bpm workspace, login as process owner and search for any Task aged for long time and jus Withdraw it.
You can do all the above using APIs also as far as you have Withdraw action going to the End Node.
If your requirement is something else, ignore above notes. But still you can think along the above lines, if all you want is to Kill a Running Process anytime.
    Thanks

  • IDOC --BPM--IDOC AND FILE

    Hi Experts,
My scenario is idoc to idoc and file through BPM.
so I hve one integration process and 2 receiver. The prob is frm IP it is pointing to only file not to IDOC
    1) 1 sender agreement
    2) 3 receiver determination
    3) 3 interface determination
    please help me out..

Why are you using BPM for this?it is not good design.
If you want to still use bpm then
    1)1 receive step,
2)2 transformations steps(if or are executing Operation mapping in IP).
    3)2 send steps.
check your BPM design and monitor Integration process work flow.
    Regards,
    Raj

  • BPM Timer Object - Process sticks at timer after duration runs out

We have a process that is using a timer as part of the logic, but we had a strange issue where the process got stuck on the timer for 10 hours (it should have been 1 minute). The context values seem fine for the timer. This has only happened once. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen? Server issue? We are running 7.31 SP05.

SAP will take some time to reply. We can try out different things till then.
Is it possible for you to re-deploy the BPM DC and check again?
Where is this timer placed exactly? Does it have anything else running in parallel? Would be great if you can post your process design here so that we can look into it.

  • An Important AS3-based Multi-Platform Framework for Developers and Adobe

Hello to all developers and to all representatives at Adobe!
We're all fortunate for Adobe's progressive thinking and their immensely helpful programs to battle against device fragmentation.  In order to advance our efforts, we, as developers, must also permit our creative juices to flow to allow the cup of opportunity to runneth over -- not just for our and Adobe's benefit, but for the benefit of businesses and consumers who demand innovation.
There are, however, barries in the shape of human form that deter potential developers, businesses, and consumers from embracing and capitalizing on such a powerful platform.  These obstructions aren't only coming from behind walled gardens; unfortunately, they're entrenched within our own camp.
Ignoring rules of optimization and taking careless shortcuts, combined with not possessing an optimized and simplified alternative to targeting a wide range of browers and devices in one fell swoop, are the ammunition needed for skeptics to plant seeds of doubt about such a useful and future-proof ecosystem.
Much like any platform and object-oriented programming language, the Flash Platform and ActionScript 3 are powerful weapons that must be wielded with responsiblity, or risk creating wounds that, in the minds of consumers, aren't easily healed.
And since this is OUR responsibility, I've decided to take on that burden...which then became a challenge...which soon became the innovative answer we so deperately need.
As an offering to my fellow developers, and as a proposal to Adobe -- the company in which I'm devoted to -- I've created an OOP-based framework that simplifies the process of developing optimized applications that cover a broad spectrum of browsers and devices.
It's called Cross Model View Controller™, or XMVC™ for short, and it offers the following features:
-Imagine using one base source code -- which you build just once -- to target a multitude of platforms: from smartphones and tablets, to desktops and browsers, and even to smart televisions.
-Your concrete View classes determine the layout of components and animations for each targeted device; once your base classes are built, your concrete View classes are the ONLY classes that require alteration (see diagram).
-Utilize the flexibility of the XMVC UI Components to work across ALL devices and browsers.  You simply specify the platform type (mobile, desktop, browser, or television) in the concrete view classes, and the XMVC UI Components do the rest.
Example: The XMVC Container (which holds child elements and incorporates scrolling): When set to "mobile," it incorporates touch scrolling; when set to "desktop" or "browser," it incorporates a scroll bar; when set to "television," its scrolling is controlled by remote control directional events, as well as incorporates virtual directional buttons.  And this is all from ONE instance of the XMVC Container component; this eliminates switching out various types of containers for each targeted device.
-Animations are created using Greensock's TweenMax platform, for lightweight, optimized animations.
-For complete orientation control, you can assign custom animations for orientation changes.  It even incorporates an Upside Down view for Android devices.
-You can allow users the preference of turning animations on or off, with a flip of a switch (litteraly).
-XMVC automatically removes event listeners for better Garbage Collection processing.
-XMVC accepts various data structures, including XML, PHP/AMFPHP with SQL, SAP, and HTTP Web Services.  It would be incredibly beneficial to allow incorporation of ColdFusion, LiveCycle Data Services, and BlazeDS data structures, as well.
Necessity is indeed the mother of invention, and possessing and utilizing a powerful tool is necessary to progress our efforts in reaching an abundant amount of individuals and entities.
The primary functionality of the framework (as displayed in the diagram) is complete; improving and adding additional XMVC components are the primary objective at this point of the development stage.
Very soon, I will upload the source code to an outlet (such as Google Code) for developers to download and experiment.  Within the same timeframe, anticipate demo apps within App Markets to test on your devices.
Adobe has such an incredible development community, and my hope is that XMVC provides these developers, as well as Adobe, an incredible amount of leverage to persuade businesses, consumers, as well as other developers to embrace and utilize a platform that can withstand the change of time.
Imagine businesses excelling beyond their self-imposed barries due to the robustness and flexibility of a platform and framework that can function in any environment.
Imagine liberating consumers to allow them to use your applications whenever, wherever, and on WHATever they desire.
Think of the possibilities of quickly submitting applications -- with very little, or no, alterations to your programs -- once device manufacturers like Windows Mobile, webOS, and Symbian finally accept Adobe AIR.
If there are developers out there who share the same sentiment, and if there are Adobe representatives who find this framework intriguing and effective, by all means, contact me.
The possiblities are endless...so must be our efforts.
    Onward and upward,
    Adrian-Cortez Jackson

  • How to configure Integration B2B to request and process AS2 Sync MDN

    Hi,
Is it possible to configure B2B to request and process sync MDN in Custom Document Over Internet scenario?
I have set up the TP Delivery Channel's Acknowledgement mode to Sync but It does not work for outgoing documents. Our trading partner sends back MDN over the same https connection but it only results in an error. The business message status of is Wait Ack for few minutes and then changes to Error:
    Business Message Details
    Collaboration
    Revision
    Business Action          PROCESS
    Revision          1
    Process Protocol
    Exchange Protocol          AS2 - 1.1
    B2B Message Id          1036
    Protocol Message Id          <1036@as2test>
    Protocol Collaboration Id
Receive Time Stamp          April 21, 2009 2:37:43 PM
Send Time Stamp          April 21, 2009 2:37:43 PM
    Acknowledge Mode          Sync
    Reply Mode          Async
    Agreement          TP_TEST_AGR
Message Date Time          April 21, 2009 2:37:43 PM
    Error Code          AIP-50079
    Message Type
    State          Error
    Remaining Retry          0
    Acknowledge Type          Document Exchange
    Direction          Outbound
    Time To Acknowledge
    Sending Trading Partner          HOST_TEST
    Wire Message          View
    Correlated Message
    Payload          Payload
Transport error: [IPT_HttpSendError] HTTP encounters send error :.
    Premature EOF encountered
Also our trading partner reports that he gets the message six times during the time between Wait Ack and Error status and each time send Ack. Nothing is visible in b2b.log in that time.
When we switch to Async Ack, B2B also sends message six times and each time receives Async MDN. This time however, each MDN is received and processed correctly. Our request has status Complete, until the 6th Ack is received, then it changes to the same error as above.
Have any of you experienced above error? Is it at all possible to process AS2 MDN's correctly especially in Sync mode?
    Thank you in advance.

Just consider your BPM is receiver, and sender:
Src --> BPM  (BPM is Receiver)
    ==========
Sender Agreement (If it is IDOC or HTTP, then you do not have to create)
    Commnunication Channel
    Receiver Determination
    Interface Determination
BPM --> Target (BPM is sender)
    ============
    Receiver Determination
    Interface Determination
    Communication Channel
    Receiver Agreement
If your BPM interact with other systems, you will have more Receiver Determination and Interface determination, possible Receiver agreement
    Hope this clear your doubts

  • Difference between BPM, BRM, and BRF

    Hi Experts,
    I need your suggestion.
I am in a confution to learn Business Rules.
When I am searching for SAP Business Rules in net, i got Business Rules Management(BRM), Business Rules Framework(BRF) and Business Process Management(BPM).
My core module is SAP ABAP, and little bit working experience in WebDynpro ABAP.
What exactly the difference among these 3 modules i.e. BPM, BRM and BRF. What is the link among these 3 modules.
For my ABAP experience, any one suits. If it is which one is suitable and where can i find the exact material. What are all the tools required other than R/3.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Chandu,
pls take a look at [last year's TechEd slides about BRM and BRFplus.|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50a961f8-8dd7-2d10-8f9b-f20285870733] The slides are still valid.

  • Picking up and processing files in Order

    Dear all,
    I have a scenario Legacy(File based Interaction)>PI(PI 7.1)>SAP (ECC 5.0)
The legacy system would drop a set of files which would have the suffix "filename_s", "filename_o" in a singh folder.
I need to pick the  "_s" files first and then process them and send the data to SAP, next  "_o" files have to be picked and processed.
How do we handle this requirement.
Did any one encounter a similar scenario, please share your inputs in designing this interface.
    Regards,
    Younus

you can use a BPM with receive steps and a fork to ensure you process the second file only after you process the first file.

  • BPM standalone and J2EE versions

What is the diffrence between BPM standalone and J2EE versions
    and
What are the advantages of Using J2EE Version over standlone?
In configuration document it is mentioned that we need to deploy wlj2eedeployer.ear on weblogic server.
    Why this deployment?
    Thanks

Depending on your needs, the Engine can be deployed using two different implementation styles.
    Standalone Oracle BPM Enterprise Engine
Oracle BPM can be deployed in a standalone environment running on a JVM. This is the original version of the Engine and has been around for 10 years.
The benefits of deploying processes to Enterprise Standalone are:
<li> It does not require an application server J2EE container to run. This means a lower cost of entry if you do not already own WebLogic or WebSphere J2EE application servers.
<li> It is simple to install and administer.
Enterprise Standalone uses a simple active/standby failover mechanism. When the active engine starts, it immediately registers in the Oracle BPM Directory that it is the primary engine. When the standby engine starts on another machine, it sees that another engine has already registered as the active server in the Oracle BPM Directory. Since the active engine is already up, the standby knows that it needs to ping the primary engine periodically to ensure it is still up. If the standby engine fails to get a response from the active engine, the standby notifies the Directory that it is now the active engine. When what was previously the active primary engine restarts, it notifies the Directory that it has restarted, sees that another server is now the primary and then starts as the secondary.
J2EE Application Server Oracle BPM Enterprise Engine
Oracle BPM Enterprise engines can also run on a J2EE application server within WebLogic and WebSphere containers.
Oracle BPM Engines running on a J2EE Application Server support active clustering. This means that as loads increase over time, new nodes can be added making the environment more scalable over time.
With the J2EE Application Server environment automatic failover is automatically provided across nodes.
Finally, in answer to your last question - the deployed wlj2eedeployer.ear is useful because this lets you stop and start the Engine and deploy projects from the simple (ok - somewhat simple) Oracle BPM Process Administrator tool.
    Hope this helps,
    Dan
