BPM: PI Message Monitor

Hi guys,
Have anyone configured Delta Message Monitor and Total Message Monitor in BPM?
I have followed document "Interface Monitoring with SAP Solution Manager Release ST 400, STSER
700_2008_2 and STA/PI 01L.
In spite of the fact I do have errors in PI trx. SXMB_MONI, BPM appears as everything ok. All the filters are correct and alert configuration was sucessfully generated.
Any tips?
Thanks,
Renato

Just as feedback: The only way it worked properly was implementing ST-SER 701_2008_2 SAPKITLOQ4.
In other words, we implemented EhP1 in our Solution Manager,

  • Message Monitoring for each within the BPM process

I have a question concerning message monitoring within a BPM process.  I receive an IDOC into my BPM process.  I then have three transformation steps before sending an E-mail to the end receiver.  When I look at the messages in the workflow log, I am unable to see the message after each transformation step.  In the log display if I click the instance ID for all steps except the first step I am unable to see a message.

If I click all except the first instance I receive the following message:
    No messages available for selection
    Message no. XMS_ADM113
Is there a way to make the message persistent after each step within the process?  I would like to see the data after each step in the workflow log. Is this possible?
I do receive the e-mail from the send step so I know that it's completing the process.  What I'm not sure of is if each step individually processed the data as I expected.

  • Wrong port in FTP receiver adapter - no errors in message monitoring?

    Hello all
We're on XI 3.0 SP16 and have created / configured a HTTP XML -> XI -> FTP Server scenario. In the receiver comm. channel (ftp) we had specified a wrong port number and always wondered, why we never got errors in message monitoring. Everything seemed to be processed correctly... but no file arrived on the FTP server (receiver) side!
After correcting the wrong FTP port number in the receiver FTP comm. channel everything went fine.
We now encountered a similar problem with a RFC receiver adapter. We're using it in another scenario HTTP XML -> XI -> RFC to SAP R/3 (4.7).
For some reason it died (red status in adapter monitor) and it was no more possible to do RFC calls from XI to SAP R/3 (normal RFC adapter, NO proxies).
In XI message monitor everything seemed to be ok but no message arrived till SAP R/3. Nothing in any queue...
After deactivating and reactivation the RFC receiver comm. channel it worked again BUT ALL PREVIOUSLY SENT messages seem to be lost.
Is it really the way it works? Does XI integration engine at runtime NOT catch whether or not a RFC or FTP receiver adapter died, thus is not able to tell somewhere in message monitor that a message could not be delivered at all?
I'm really confused here but hopefully I simply don't understand some easy principles to take into account...
Our SAP R/3 is on rel. 4.70 with Web AS 6.20. The XI 3.0 plugin is not installed. Do we need to go with server proxies there and use QOS = best effort?!?
    Thanks for some suggestions.
    Best regards,
    Renaud

    Hi Michal
Thanks... works great for normal XML based messages!
Now, what if I wanted to pass binary files from one ftp server via BPM to another ftp server in order to enable the transport acknowledgment?
The files polled from ftp server using the ftp sender adapter are all in binary format (ARJ). No xml data in there. How should the message format look like in BPM for the receiving step? Or: how to make sure not to loose the binary content when passing through BPMs?
I need this sort of scenario because of the tansport acknowledgment and because I need to have some sort of message splitting (send the binary file over to a second ftp server and additionally send some kind of info message to SAP R/3 regarding thin binary file).
BTW: in the MessagingSystem/monitor/monitor.jsp I do not see sender / receiver information. Is this normal? It's quite of a bad thing to look inside each message in order to find out what message I'm having in front of me...
Thanks a lot for your support and patience!
    Kind regards,
    Renaud

  • BPM Acknowledgement message reading the wrong integration server name

    HI
I have a scenario where I have BPM which sends data to A MS SQL Server database and waits for a TRANSPORT Acknowledgement. The Mesage going to the Database is processed successfully but the acknowledgement messasge fails giving the following error when viewed in the message monitor.
    IS_DETAILS_GET_ERROR
no_integration_server_found: Unable to find Integration Server is.XX.XXXXXXXX
Error while reading access data (URL, user, password) of Integration Server is.XX.XXXXXXXX
Actually the string "is.XX.XXXXXXXX" contains the name of the integration server.
Now my problem is the actual  value contained in the above string is the name   of the integration server . But this name is not correct ,  I mean it is not what the actual name should be. We are not able to find out from where this incorrect name is being picked up. Can anyone tell from where the actaul name and url  of the integration server is read. Is it stored in different locations for inbound messages and acknowledgement msgs. Will refreshing any of the caches will help.
    Please suggest.
    regards
    Nilesh Taunk.

    Hi Nilesh,
your problem is very strange because your BPM is sending data correctly to SQL DB .....your db is processed.....but the ack msg when coming in bpm gives IS_DETAILS_GET_ERROR.
i think just see all the objects in IR and ID are activated.....after that by SXI_CACHE transaction do a cache refresh.........see the return code of BPM is zero or not......the retun code of BPM shuld be zero.......
again run your this scenario.......now please tell what happens......

  • Jdbc adapter error on confirmation message in message monitor (rwb)

    I have the scenario iDoc -> PI 7 - > jdbc (AS400 odbc driver).
When I do INSERT statements, the data is stored in the Database and the RWB message monitoring shows status Successfull.
However, for every insert, an other message shows up in the message monitoring with reversed Sender and Receiver (so it looks like a confirmation message is trying to find its way back to XI). This message first is is Status "Waiting", and after some time gets in Status "System Error".
As I am not expecting any responses in my XI configuration (as I have no place to send them to), I want to stop these messages showing up in the Adapter Engine (as there will be many Error Status messages that are of no interest to me).
How can I stop these messages, or what should I do in XI to process them (and dump them in my receiver determination). I have NO  BPM involved .

    Hi,
For each open connection a entry is made j2ee stack. So when the it reaches to max and execption is thrown.
In Jdbc adapter configuration -> advance mode -> Set -> Disconnect from the database after processing each message.
    Should solve the prob

  • ** File to Mail through BPM - Holding Messages

    Hi Friends,
We are running File to Mail scenario in our PRD server. We use BPM design to collect messages and grouping it send to mail id with XL attachments.
Some of the messages are in Holding state i.e from the BPM to Mail adapter.  I have compared the successful messages payload similar to the holding messages payload. There is no difference. Both payload are correct.
When I resend the holding message, it tries to resend and again going into holding state. I am not able to trace out the reason. Because, the 'To' address is same, body of the content is same (except value).
Do I need to check anything in BPM side ?
Can you help me to identify this problem.
    Kind regards,
    Jegathees P.

    Hi,
Does the messages are gng to hold state in the Mail Adapter Receiver??
If so nthng needs to be done in BPM..
But instead u need to check the Mail adapter Receiver.....
In message monitoring fr this interface and namespace please check if any previos messages are struk in queue..
Check by changing the dates of previos also and delete them....
Once u delete all the messages previos error status... now run end to end.. u will get all the mails...
If still any prblm.. do post
If any question you are closing, please do also post the resolution you found..... So that others can benifit from that
and we can avoid repeated question

  • Fault message monitoring

I have an asynchronous scenario of  HTTP-> XI -> RFC. In my RFC function application errors may occur. I defined fault message type in my asychron inbound interface corresponding to exceptions of my RFC function.I tried to raise exception in my RFC function in following way:
    message e001(CJ) with msg1_hlp raising UPDATE_NOT_POSSIBLE.
But I could not get fault message displayed in XI message monitor (SXMB_MONI).
Could somebody tell me what is the easiest way to show error messages in my case?
As far as I understand either I need to use BPM, or I need to use ABAP server proxy for raising exceptions. Must I use ABAP Proxy instead of RFC function? Then I may need to generate a ABAP Proxy to use as a wrapper for my RFC function, correct?

  • JDBC to JDBC error in receiver but success in message monitoring

    Hi,
I got some doubt about message monitoring (SXMB_MONI), I have JDBC (DB2) to JDBC (Oracle) scenario. The message monitoring always show me success eventhough it has error when inserting to the target system (Oracle).
I am only can trace use Communication Channel Monitoring to known that my transaction actually failed.
Is there any workaround to this problem
    Thank you and Best Regards
    Fernand

    Hi Raj,
The connection lost could be one of the possibility problem.
    Can i use this scenario
    Sender (JDBC, ansynchronous) -
    > Receiver (JDBC, Synchronous), without BPM and then i still can see the message error whenever failed to insert into target system and restart the message.
or i have to use BPM for bridge between ansynchronous ---> synchronous mode.

  • RWB-Message Monitoring and End-to-End Monitoring

    hi
Can someone explain the differences between Message Monitoring & End-to-End Monitoring through RWB. I see both of them displaying the messages status with better descriptive with End-to-End Monitoring.

    HI Chandra
You use message monitoring in the following cases:
1 To track the status of messages
2 To find errors that have occurred and establish what caused them
Check this help for further info:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2f/4e313f8815d036e10000000a114084/content.htm
You use end-to-end monitoring in the following cases:
1 If you want to monitor message processing steps in a number of SAP components (to be configured).
2 If you want to monitor the path of individual messages through these SAP components, from start to end.
Check this help for further info:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/82/9e8dfe9eadbd4b9194c433e646b84e/content.htm
End-to-end monitoring includes message monitoring, adapter monitoring, BPE if BPM is involved.. so end-to-end monitoring tells you complete description of your scenario......but message monitoring is concerned only with source message coming to target message successfully generated.
    Cheers..

  • Adapter message monitoring: message in HOLD

    Hi,
    since we changed a scenario:
    a) old scenario: R/3 --> XI --> BPM --> XI  --> FTP
    b) new scenario R/3 --> XI   --> FTP
the messages stuck in adapter message monitoring.
Message-Interface is the same, CC is the same; just the way through BPM was canceled.
    any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Regards Mario

    Hi Mario,
messages are in status HOLD, when they need to be sent in exact order (EOIO), and an error occured in one (or more) queues. When you solve this error, restart the first message from the queue after this error and the items will be processed.
    How to do that:
Go to messaging system servlet, find your message (in hold status) and click the Eye icon - Details. Now read the Conversation ID value - which is your queue ID.
Go to RWB, message monitoring, choose adapter engine( from combobox)-> display. Now click additional criteria, put the value of Conversation ID to conversation ID textbox. Start search. You'll see a lot of messages there in hold status I think, But find the one in System Error status. Try to resend this message, if it will not change its status (will still be in in System error), cancel it. Now restart first message from the queue, which was after this wrong one.
This should release the queue and process items.
If any questions, let me know.
    Peter

  • Message details not getting displayed in Message monitoring of RWB

    Hi,
I am trying to see how many messages in Message Monitoring by selecting Integration Engine option, Message counts are getting displayed like how many has been processed successfully, processed with errors as well.
When I click on message count a pop up screen opens and gives me no messages are not available even for the same day messages.
Can any body give me an idea like where i can set any parameter to display in detail of messages in integration engine for one week back as well.

In XI run tcode SXMB_ADM and then follow "Integration Engine Configuration ---> Specific Configuration". Now check the Archive & Deletion Current & Default Values and set the Retention period as per you need.
