BPM-Queries

Hi,
I'm working with BPM Scenario can i get some Detailed Description on the Configuration Part used in general.
My Scenario is just to transfer a file->XI->file.

Hi Prashanth,
<i>>>What is a Bussiness Service?</i>
A business service represents an abstract unit for addressing the senders and receivers of messages. You can use a business service to group interfaces.
go thru this link
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/fe/131eb4ef2fb344abf471c9eac0063a/frameset.htm
<i>
>>In my Receiver Determination Which will be my Sender service and Receiver service(Is it the Source sender or the Integration Process)?</i>
(1)
Sender = File Service
Receiver = Integration Process
(2)
Sender = Integration Process
Receiver = File Service
In Receiver Agreement
Sender  =  Integration Process
Receiver = File Service
<i>>> 3.How many Interface determination do i need?</i>
Two, one for each Receiver Determination.
Along with these I hope you have created the following interfaces in your design part :
1) Input file Message interface (2 nos)
(a) One Outbound, Asynchronous.
(b) One Abstract, Asynchronous.
2) Output file Message interface (2 nos)
(a) One Inbound, Asynchronous.
(b) One Abstract, Asynchronous.
You use these Abstract Interfaces in your BPM when you create container variables.
Hope this will be helpful.

  • Queries on Business Process Monitoring (BPM) & Interface Monitoring

    Dear all,
I have got a few queries on the subject and would greatly appreciate any valuable inputs.
Before I proceed, want to clarify that I have downloaded all overtly available  documents (PDFs, SIMs) from the following URLs:
    http://service.sap.com/rkt-solman
    http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager  Media Library
    http://service.sap.com/bpm Media Library
I may not have read them all though since I come from a Functional angle.
Kindly reply to whatever query you can please. Not all of them are sequential.
    Queries:
    (1) How are Interfaces with External Systems (beyond the firewall of the enterprise) monitored ?
    (2) Is it really worth listing all such External Systems as Logical Components in their own right ? I guess this makes sense if at a Process Step level, one wants to list a 'specific' Logical Component involved instead of 'generic' term like External System. However, it would benefit only if Interface Monitoring is feasible; isn't it ?
    (3) There are Interfaces which are built between SAP and External System and serve various Business Processes under various Business Scenarios. In such circumstances,  it is not easy to list which Process 'owns' the Interface. Therefore, under a normal Implementation Project structure (SOLAR02), choosing a particular Process Step, getting into 'Development' Tab and listing the Interface Program name may not be feasible, since there is no particular place where it belongs.
Is it therefore a good idea to create namesake Scenario for capturing all interfaces and list a library of all interfaces and store documents right there ? If so, will these namesake processes be of any use in BPM at a later date ?
    (4) If my primary objective is to accomplish Interface Monitoring and not Business Process Monitoring per se, is it a good idea to create a new Solution Landscape, and manually create Business Processes that are suited to list Interfaces than to assign Template or Implementation Project to the Solution Landscape, and inherit those Processes ?
    (5) What is it that a SAP Competence (Support) Centre will find as a 'major' gain in activating BPM to monitor Interfaces alone - is there something that SolMan's BPM based Interface Monitoring gives more than what PI level reporting may provide them with ?
    (6) In Interfaces with Non-SAP Systems (some of them are old/ proprietary legacy systems with Credit Card companies; some of them are like 'Active Directory' servers), is it possible to define Metrics for BPM that such systems will contribute to SolMan, for reporting purposes ? Or, is it too much to hope for
Thanks again, for your patience and advance thanks for your kind responses.

    Hi,
    Welcome to BPM
You have asked too many questions in a single Post, Please read rules of engagement before posting
You can monitor the following without any trouble.
    &#9679;      ALE/EDI
    &#9679;      qRFC
    1) Its obvious, if your firewall blocks all your request to external enterprise, it is not possible to monitor.
    3) These interfaces are not the one related to development tab in SOLAR02, you have to map them from BPM.
    4) Yes, you don't have to depend on any project for your processes, you can add it in your Solution Landscape.
    5) Post a Separate Thread!!!
    6) Post a Separate Thread!!!
Hope this gives a better idea.

  • Queries regarding BPM Process

    Hi All
I have some queries regarding BPM.Please respond.
Can we create / modify BPM processes using any Webservices / APIs available
Is it possible to edit template used for notification mails in BPM?
Do we have any way to transform BPM process design to standards like XPDL and BPMN. ?
    Thanks

Edited by: Monika Jain on Jan 5, 2010 1:45 PM

    Hi Monika,
Regarding which version ob BPM is your question for notifications?
In NW BPM 7.11, you can not edit the text of the notifications, only the link to Task and UWL is configurable.
In NW BPM 7.2, there is a new type of Notification activity, where you have the freedom to edit the text of the notification, also to add dynamic variables from process context, but for the generic notifications(like "New Tasks") the functionality is the same as in NW BPM 7.11.
Please find a link to NW BPM 7.11 documentation for configuring Notifications.

  • Error while saving BPM Project to MDS: BPM-70801 : Metadata operation failed

    Dear All,
I am working on BPM 11g.
I installed the following products for BPM 11g
OS: Windows 7 SP1 Professional Edition all with 32 bit
    Installed s/w:
        JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0 Generic Version
        OracleXE 11.2 Win32
        ofm soa generic 11.1.1.6.0
        wls 10.3.5
        RCU 11.1.1.6 for schemas dev_soainfra, dev_sdpm and dev_mds  - Utility run successfully.
Overall Installation is successful wth no issues.
Configuration of Weblogic server for domain is ok with admin server, soa_server1 and bam_server1 with test connections is ok.
I am using browser as Internet Explorer 9
In Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0 after creating application, project and process
From BPM MDS Navigator I configured the connection for Database 11g XE as well using
    Override Application Server user/password
For SOA MDS I included the dev_mds user with MDS partition as obpm
tested connections all ok (weblogic and soa_server1 up and running)
In Jdeveloper I am able to export the BPM successfully.
In the BPM Project Navigator when I use the Project --> SalesQuote.jpr --> right clicking with
option as  Save to BPM MDS the following error is occured as
"Error while saving BPM Project to MDS: BPM-70801 : Metadata operation failed".
If the error is resolved than I can see the project in BPM composer.
My queries on this error are
    1) Has soa_server anything to do with this error
    2) Is dev_mds schema to be reviewed
what can be the possibility to resolve the BPM-70801 error.
Please provide the solution ASAP or send me the reply to my  [email protected]
    Regards
    Ajaz Ahmed

    Hello Ajaz,
BPM-70801 is a very generic error that can have multiple causes. Please provide the error log from servers log file. From what I understand, you are using a separate soa_server1, so watch out /your_domain/servers/soa_server1/logs/soa_server1.log

  • Task details in BPM worklist on SOA 11g could not retrieved.Experts plz adv

    Hi,
This is regarding issues when I click on the Task details on the BPM worklist 11G. I am invoking a BPEL process using custom JSP and from the custom JSP form values are
sent to BPEL and from BPEL i am invoking the Human workflow.
Tech used: BPEL 11.1.1.2, RCU 11.1.1.2.1, WLS 10.3.2 and DB 10.2.0.4
I am using one jsp named "myFlow.jsp" to call the BPEL process and i can able to get the Task in worklist but i click on "Task details" , i am getting "404 error".
Note: There was no errors when i tried with ADF autogenerated form. I can able to approve, reassign and do all operations.
I got one soultion for that, i mean i have to create another custom jsp(taskDetails.jsp) to fetch the values based on the Task Id and finally i have to give that URI in EM to fetch the details.Today i created that also but i dont know how to give the URI IN EM for the task details jsp. I am refering soa developes guide also to get the API's.
    My Ref: http://sqltech.cl/doc/oas11gR1/integration.1111/e10224/bp_worklistcust.htm
    http://docs.tpu.ru/docs/oracle/en/owl/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10224/bp_designtf.htm
    1. myFlow.jsp used - To initiate the BPEL to create a Task in worklist.(By mistake i gave this URI in EM and i am getting the same request page in the task details). Now i created another jsp which queries the task details based on the Task ID. i dont know how to give the URI in EM for this Jsp.
2.taskDetails.jsp - Used to retrive the task details based on thr Task id.
Both Jsp's are displayed below. Please advise how to fetch the task details.
worklist API provided by oracle is used to fetch only the metadata on the Task details but i have to get all the form values also in the task details that has been submitted
    by my Jsp(myFlow.jsp)
    Both are shown below,

  • Message Failure in BPM

    Hi,
In the scenario File->XI->R/3 with BPM (Collecting POs and sending bundled msg),
How to know about the failed messages. And what will happen if the msg fails?
(ii) How to handle such situation.
    Please clarify these queries.
    Thanks.
    Regards
    Krishna.

    Hi,
There are multiple ways of handling Errrors inside BPM.
Use the exception Handler block and trigger a alert and then restart the messages after the errror has been correct. This concept is called , Reconcilation of messages and is explained in this blog,

  • BPM fails due to error "Permanenter Fehler in der BPE Eingangsverarbeitung"

    hi all,
i searched the forum and haven't got a proper solution for this.
My scenario is that i am getting a message via a file adapter and sending it to BPM. In my BPM i am receiving this  message via a asyc receive step and then
calling a SAP RFC via a synchronous send step. But when i see the result in transaction SXMB_MONI i see that my BPM could not be processed due to an error message in the queue "Permanenter Fehler in der BPE Eingangsverarbeitung".
Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
    thanks and regards,
    Abhishek

    Hi Abhishek,
Not sure if this would help you ...but try this..
Did you check the return code of the Integration Process in Cache. Is it 0.
Secondly try to run a simple file2file scenario with using BPM and check if the scenario works.
My guess is that you are getting the error because some configuration has not been done. Check if the BPE is not stopped.Use t-code SWF_XI_ADM_BPE
Do post if you have additional queries...

  • Multiple select queries for JDBC sender

I am working on JDBc to IDOC scenario.
I need to process two select queries in PI where output of 1st query becomes the input of second.
Now i need to map the output of second to IDOC through XSL mapping also i need to use BPM to process(without using the stored procedure) the scenario.
In my JDBC communication channel i have option for only one select query and second query should fetch the data through BPM.
In BPM i have used the following sequence mentioned below:
Start --> Receive step ( receives all the header lines) --> Transformation (to split the header messages to single message) --> Block Start( To processEachRecord) --> Send Syn (to map the request message i,e. output of first query with Response i,e. structure of the second query)  --> Send Asyn (to send the output of second query to XSLT mapping) -->Block End --> stop
Output of XSLT mapping is the input for IDOC
Now i need to understand how to process the second query?

    >> I need to process two select queries in PI where output of 1st query becomes the input of second
    Use SQL Nested Queries.
    Example:
SELECT Model FROM Product WHERE ManufacturerID IN (SELECT ManufacturerID FROM Manufacturer
    WHERE Manufacturer = 'Dell')
Here first table is Manufacturer .. we do select query in manufacturer to return data and pass it to the first table Product.
    >> Now i need to understand how to process the second query?
You dont need at all. In your sender jdbc channel, write sql statement nested query and you will get only output of the second table. you map the second table output to the idoc.
Note: Dont know why do you need BPM for this case..

  • Exception not caught in BPM

    Hi all,
I am doing a scenario using BPM.In which I called SAP and several webservices synchronously.I also define Fault messages in the abstract synchronous message inetrface and
used those message interface  to send message synchronously to SAP and webservices in blocks. In those blocks I insert exception branches and attach those exception branches to synchronous steps for both system error and fault message.
Now while executing scenario some times system error and application exception are caught properly in BPM, but sometimes it doesn't catch exceptions for system error and application exception.
Please, can anyone give me a valid reason for this behaviour.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Sami

    Hi,
Some of the suggestions for exception handling-
    1) non availability of the Webservice, connection problem etc. For this either you can acheieve Send Step with Acknowledgement mode or Alerts configured for Adapters
    2) Application Acknowledgement-Webservice is given any error for the data. You can handle that thru email from XI etc
    3) Error in updating the R/3 system
    4) Timeout delay while calling Webservice
So for these you can configure Alerts.
Alert management is required to notify runtime errors/abnormal errors during runtime. SO it will notify the user/admin person as per the requierements so that you can avoid some of the delay in the process etc..
    About Alert Management-

    Re: Alert not working?
    Alerts in MS Inbox
Use of Exception Handling is a very essential step inside your BPM and the best thing to do would be to wrap each of your Send / Transformation inside a Exception Handling block.
You can use Moorthy's blog on Reocnilation as well as trigger alerts.

  • How to handle system exception in Sync communication without BPM? Help!

    Hi Experts
I have a Synchronous scenario in XI: webservice <------>RFC SAP R/3.
Webservice is making a sync call to RFC FM in SAP R/3 system.
I want to handle system exception when SAP R/3 is down and send an email alert.
Can I achieve this in graphical mapping without BPM? How? Kindly provide necessary steps/screenshots for the same.
Are there any other alternatives for handling system exception apart from mapping and BPM?
    Thanks
    Gopal

    Hi GopalKirshna,
Yes,You can handle the Exception if at all you are using the RFC.You can achieve this without using BPM.
Using Fault message you can catch the System Exception and even the primary role for Fault Message is to catch the RFC Exceptions.
Please refer the Fault messages Notes to achieve this you will understand better.
    Hope I am clear.
Please let me if you have any more queries regarding this..!
    Thanks and Rewards,
    Chandu.

  • Queries regarding N:1 Mapping

    Hello XI Experts,
I have gone through one the most popular weblog on N:1.
    /people/pooja.pandey/blog/2005/07/27/idocs-multiple-types-collection-in-bpm
I have some queries regarding this...
    1. In Step 3, while creating message interfaces...which message type we have to select for MI_NOM_ABS (Abstract Asynchronous)
    2. In Step 4, in Message mappings...which messages we have to select as a source and target messages for all the 4 Mappings of;
    MM_ISU_UKGAS_NOM1_to_NOM1_ABS
    (ii) MM_ISU_UKGAS_NOM2_to_NOM2_ABS
    (iii) MM_ISU_UKGAS_NOM3_to_NOM3_ABS
    (iv) MM_ISU_UKGAS_NOM_to_NOM_ABS
    Do the needful.
    Thanks n Advance.,
    Xavier

    Stallin,
    > Question 1
    use  MT_NOM
    >Question 2
First 3 mappings source and target are same in Message Mapping, in case of Interface Mapping Outbound IDOC to Abstract IDOC.
    4th mapping 3 IDOC's as the source , MT_NOM as the target.
If it's not clear, reply back.

  • Sync - async w/o BPM

I have a scenario where a Bapi functionality(server proxy) is exposed as a webservice .
So scenario will be SOAP -> XI -> Proxy (calls a BAPI).
    I was thinking of:
Receiving the call from WS consumer Synchronously and send him back the ACK (just transport level) and end the sync call. Then fwd this request to R3 using Async proxy...but w/o BPM.
Or can we have a Async call from WS consumer to Xi and from there to R3 proxy and some work around to send back transport level acknowledgement to WS consumer from XI  async.
    plz suggest...
    XI Queries.

    Hi,
I think you can handle in the sender client end. Check this note
    Note 856597 - FAQ: XI 3.0 / PI 7.0 / PI 7.1 SOAP Adapter
    It states :
    Sender Asynchronous Calls
Q: What are the correct sender options for asynchronous calls?*
A: The setting in the channel configuration determines how the message is passed to the XI infrastructure. Setting the channel's quality of service to ExactlyOnce guarantees the delivery of the message exactly once between the adapter and the back end. This will not automatically guarantee the delivery with exactly once between the client and the back end. The behavior of the client determines the level of quality of service achieved.
When the client sends a SOAP message and ignores the response completely as in "fire-and-forget", the quality of service with AtMostOnce may be realized.
When the client sends a SOAP message and checks if the response is an HTTP 200 response message with an empty soap envelope or an HTTP 202 response message with no content, the quality of service with AtLeastOnce can be realized. In this case, the client must resend the message until such a successful response is returned. When the message successfully accepted by the adapter, an HTTP 200 response with an empty SOAP envelope or an HTTP 202 response message with no content is returned.
When the client resends the message, there is a possibility that the message may arrive more than once. However, this possible duplicate only happens, when the client previously received no response message at all.For all other cases, the client can resend the message without resulting any duplicate. In order to eliminate duplicates for all cases, the client may send the message with a unique message ID. This message ID will be used to create an XI message so that the identity of the created XI message and that of the original SOAP message are coupled. The client must resend the message with the same message ID, until, a HTTP 200 response with an empty soap envelope/HTTP 202 without content is received as an acknowledgement and client would not get the DuplicateMessageException in this regard. In either case, the client can assume that the message is delivered exactly once (theoretically the message ID could be identical to another message ID used previously but the probability of this is extremely low).

    Suraj
