BPM uses

hi guruz,
where we use BPM scenerio in XI, in what type of requirement we use BPM.
Is it avoidable or not .
please guide me.
warm regards.

Hi Pawan chauhan  ,
Business Process Management (BPM) has become a critical part of enterprise development.business process management
Business process management (BPM) is a systematic approach to improving an organization's business processes. BPM activities seek to make business processes more effective, more efficient, and more capable of adapting to an ever-changing environment. BPM is a subset of infrastructure management, the administrative area of concern dealing with maintenance and optimization of an organization's equipment and core operations.
A business process is a set of coordinated tasks and activities, conducted by both people and equipment, that will lead to accomplishing a specific organizational goal. The Business Process Management Initiative (BPMI), a non-profit organization, exists to promote the standardization of common business processes, as a means of furthering e-business and business-to-business (B2B) development. To this end, the organization has developed the Business Process Modeling Language (BPML), an Extensible Markup Language (XML)-based metalanguage for modeling business processes.
BPM(Business Process Management) is a structured approach that models an enterprise's human and machine tasks and the interactions between them as processes. BPM software uses a dashboard interface that offers a high-level view of the operation that typically crosses departmental boundaries. The dashboard integrates with all the applications that perform processes as well as related databases and can be used to trigger the start of a unit of work.
Evolving from document management, workflow and enterprise application integration (EAI), a BPM system can monitor and analyze tasks in realtime and set off alerts when specified limits are exceeded or a response is not received within a specified time.
Management for People/Machine Systems
For decades, systems that are entirely automated have more or less taken care of themselves. However, operations requiring a mix of people and machine procedures employ BPM as a higher-level management system that keeps track of them both.
Over time, a BPM system can provide historical data of human-machine interactions that might be extremely difficult to obtain from information systems, especially disparate systems from several departments or systems running on different platforms.
The BPM Suite (BPMS)
A BPM system may comprise a variety of independent packages or a comprehensive business process management suite (BPMS), which includes tools for modeling and analysis, application integration, business rules support, business intelligence (BI), activity monitoring and optimization. Advanced BPMSs provide a development tool for creating forms-based applications, which are often the start of many business processes.

  • Issue in File to RFC to File Scenario with BPM using Block Step

    Hi Everybody,
I am doing File to RFC to File Scenario for multiple records using BPM using Block Step. The File Message is getting posted and after that, the message is getting stuck up in the qRFC Monitor (Inbound Queue).
After seeing the message in Inbound Queue, I am trying to execute and release the message. But when i execute the LUW, it says " Function module doesnt exist or EXCEPTION raised" in Inbound queue.
Could somebody suggest me the outcome of this? What does this mean and how to
release the stuck up message in Queue.
    Thanks and Regards,
    N.Jayanth Kumar

    Hi Rajesh,
After going through the blog, i saw the trace messages. It says
" The   exception occurred (program: CL_SWF_XI_INBOUND=============CP, include CL_SWF_XI_INBOUND=============CM00F, line: 19)"

  • How to setup the cluster environment for BPM using weblogic

want to setup the cluster environment for BPM using weblogic....
i have installed the oracle weblogic server 10gr3 and oracle BPM enterprise for weblogic 10gR3
i have used the Admin tools from the "oracle BPM enterprise for weblogic" to setup the configuration and create the weblogic domain servers.
i can launch the process administrator and import the project exp file to domain server.
but what should i do to setup cluster environment using weblogic?
what i want to do is :
    setup one admin machine..
    setup two product machine..
enable the cluster so the admin machine can monitor the status of the product machine..
    thanks a lot ...

The install guide at http://download-llnw.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13154_01/bpm/docs65/config_guide/index.html gives a reasonable amount of info on how to do this.
Personally I have not used the OBPM option to configure WebLogic instead I've used the information in the above install guide to create the weblogic domain in advance of configuring OBPM.
Once you've setup WebLogic configure OBPM using the values I mention in the following thread: How to set the JMX Engine parameter in Process Administation?
Let me know any specific config questions and I'll do my best to answer them for you.
    Thanks,

  • Configuration Scenario for BPM Using Integration Scenario

    hi All,
I Have an Scenario where i am using BPM. Most of the blog tells about manually creating all Configuration objects. I had created an Integration Scenario for this scenario by referring to the earlier threads available for same.
Hoe to Create Integration Scenario for BPM Scenario
Integration Scenario in BPM  and few more.
    My IS looks like
Sender App Component - Integration Process - Receiver App Component
Now when i am trying to create Configuration scenario for same using model configurator, i am getting Model as "Not Configurable"
And when i click "Configurability Check" Button, i am getting below as status:
Component view IS_POC_BPM: Connection from receivePayload to getABSPayload does not have an inbound service interface
Component view IS_POC_BPM : Connection from sendABSPayload to getPayload has no outbound interface
getABSPayload and sendABSPayload are actions for Abstract interfaces.
IS_POC_BPM is the Integration Process Name.
Also in Integration Scenario, when i create connection between sender action to BPM action there is no inbound interface coming. And viceversa.
Please help me in identifying if i am doing any thing wrong in creating this scenario.
Is it possible to create Configuration Scenario for BPM Using Integration Scenario?
    Thanks,
    Mayank

I think you shoudl refer the available Integration Scenarios created for BPMs in IR --> SAP BASIS --> http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Patterns
Sender template will have the Action with Outbound Service Interface and then in the BPM Template the action will have Inbound Interface.....then within the BPM itself this inbound will be mapped to Action with Abstract Interface
may be after looking the Integration scenarios you will get more idea

  • PO7.31 and BPM: Using Operation Mapping within BPM

    Hello everyone!
I am facing an issue while trying the import/execute an Operation Mapping within a BPM. Have a PO 7.31SP07 installation (NWDS also on 7.31 SP07), and the process already have some working interface calls to PI, however still having issue while trying to execute the Operation Mapping:
    1. After deploying the process, going to NWA -> SOA tab -> Application and Scenario Communication -> Application Communication -> select the process -> check the "localhost"/WS group for "Local System". The  "Processing State" shows the error below:
Configuration for service group [localhost] failed. Error details:
[No endpoints found. Check if the service is configured and if its
endpoints are available in the . Service:
    Assigned Provider: [Local System]
    Service Group: [localhost]
    Service Group application: [fusionconsultoria/salesord]
    Service Reference application: [fusionconsultoria/salesord]
    2. During runtime, when trying to execute the OM automated step, on log viewer:
    Error during SCA Processing

Please check the configuration details from the NWA. You may have not
assigned the Service Group to a Provider System, or the generation of
    the configuration has failed.
    3. Carried out the steps from the referenced links below. They are quite similar to each other, however still facing the issue:
Reuse PI Operation Mapping as a service in SAP NetWeaver BPM
Using Operation Mappings (PI) in a BPM Process - Process Orchestration - SAP Library
Using NetWeaver PI’s Mapping in NetWeaver BPM
    - Marked as "local provider" and WS;
    4. Tried deleting, creating the automated step aswell reimporting the Operation Mapping.
    5. Already reviewed the input/output mapping of the automated activity;
    6. On ESR, the mapping works correctly.
    7. Tried changing the outbound and inbound Service interfaces for the OM from stateless to stateless XI3.0, as well from synchronous to asynchronous.
At this moment I've completely ran out of ideas. Appreciate if anyone could give any insights, since I am running out of time with this project!
Thanks in advance to all and
    Best regards,
    Lucas Santos

    Hi Lucus
I'm facing the same type of problem.
Why would re-creating the BPM fix this issue ?.    I fear I would spend all this effort for nothing.
What does your operation mapping wsdl:service > soap:address look like ?   What does your NWA BPM application Communication Configuration look like now - before you had that red light - like I have now.
The WSDL that is generated from the imported Operation Mapping : what end point is expected here. My wsdl:service > soap:address location has a port of 50500 - which does not even exist!. How can it work  Does this get automatically deployed onto the Service Registry?.
I have built and deployed this but I get a run time error when it executes the operation mapping.   A technical error during invocation: Could not invoke service reference name.
I have seen in the deployed BPM's Application Configuration against the Consumed Service Groups an error against the associated service group
    Configuration for service
group [SG_localhost] failed. Error details: [No endpoints found. Check if the  service is configured and if its endpoints are available in the . Service
It almost seems that it wants me to publish the end point on the service registry -  no idea how....but I none of the blogs and post indicate that I need to fiddle with this at all.
I have this question in SDN too if you care to take a look.

  • Container operation step in BPM using context object

    Hi all,
in my BPM I have a send step using the file adapter. The file adapter builds a dynamic filename.
Now I want to have the filename back into an acknowledgement. First, I need it in the container, right?
So after the send step, I have a container operation step as follows:
    target: simple string
mode: assign or append, doesn't matter
expression: In expression editor, I select Interface variable 'message', then context object 'FileName' from namespace http://sap.com/xi/XISystem/File
This should be the filename from the fileadapter, right?
    In SXI_Cache, I get return code 99:
The Value of Expression '&MESSAGE.FILENAME&' Cannot Serve As the Source of an Assignment
Why is there a context object, if you can' t use it??

As far as I know, the filename in the Dynamic Header will be lost in when the message enters the BPM.
As a work around, make a mapping at the Interface Determination level that reads the filename from the SOAP header and sets it into the payload which can be accessed inside the BPM.
Reason the way I see this that the BPM does not store the filename is ,
    1. What if you have multiple receive steps in the BPM with a fork.
    2. How would the context object know which filename you want to read?
The reason you see this in the context object is because all Context Objects are the info you get from the Adapter metadata.

  • Error in Automated activity of BPM using the PI operation mapping.

    Dear Experts,
We have a BPM process, where we have imported Operation Mapping, to use it in an automated activity. We have created the service reference with localhost and checked the local provider system check box and with type WS.
While running the scenario the process stops at the automated activity (having the Operation mapping), with error:
A technical error during invocation: Could not invoke service reference name
I have tried to recreate the step couple of times but it is always the same error.
Could you please share your expertise in how to over come the error.
    Thank you,
    Best Regards,
    Ajay

    Hi Ganesh,
    Thanks for your response.
SOAP and Mail scenario are also using the same inbound proxy structure , and the proxy is working fine in both cases.
For FTP scenario we are reusing the same inbound proxy but we are facing error .
    SAP is getting
"XML to ABAP Conversion error with error id as "CX_ST_MATCH_ELEMENT " System expected the element 'Namespace of the inbound service interface' .
    Please guide.
    Thanks,

  • Calculating BPM using either Peak Detection point by point or FFT

    Hi Guys
Im new to Labview and have absolutely no idea on programming and stuff. Im doing a project on Heart Rate monitor.
I'm using labview to read the analog input to an Arduino Mini. In my attached VI im using Peak Detection Point by point to calculate the BPM but it doesnt seem to work. I took references from several VIs to arrive at my VI.
My instructor told me I could try using FFT to calculate the BPM as well but Im not sure how to carry it out in Labview.
Hope you guys can help me with this.
    Thanks alot!

Ok, we have some problems here.
    1.  The Data Bits property is the number bits for a single character that is being transmitted.  You should not use that.  Since you are using an Arduino, it should be sending the termination character.  So just tell the VISA Read to read maximum number of bytes you expect from a single message or just some large number (like 25).  The VISA Read will stop reading the port when it encounters the termination character.
    2. The String Subset is not doing anything.  Just remove it.
    3.  You should move your  Wait to be outside of the case structure.  As is currently written, if you are not taking readings you will use up all of your CPU.
    4.  You should have labels for all of your controls and indicators.
    5.  Your time calculation is completely wrong.  You want to subtract the time of the previous peak from the current peak.  I recommend you use a Feedback Node to do this.
Here's a slightly cleaned up version of your code.
There are only two ways to tell somebody thanks: Kudos and Marked Solutions

  • Trying to get Descriptive Alerts in BPM using wlg4714

Hi I am trying to get a descriptive BPM Alert as per the Weblog above.
But I am not good at Java UDF.
The UDF featured how/where do I put this coding.
    Scenario
BPM transform step fails and throws exception BPM_ALERT.
Within the Exception branch I setup a transform message mapping for my message MY_MESSAGE to an error message type MY_ERROR.
Within the mapping message_type --> error_message_type graphical mapping
I have mapping to node error_text.
Do I create a UDF called triggerAlert context Queue
then add the code in here? what about ResultList...
IF it needs to be a compiled class. I have tried this in the SAP Web Developer Studio Tool to write class and compile but it is erroring and will not compile...
    package AlertMessage;
    public class triggerAlert {
         public static void triggerAlert(
              String alertSubject,

What to do, How to do it...
    thanks,

    Bhavesh,
    I do go on...
Problem:- I have re-engineered a BPM to reduce long runtimes in Collect Scenario.
    (1) Incoming to XI single xml messages --> collected in a folder on XI server.
    (2) Trigger renaming of messages extension to *.xml in folder at specific time ie once daily.
    (3) Receiving Communication Channel (type File) is first step in BPM gets triggered.
    (4) BPM block 1 Receive step in loop collects messages (1,2,3...n) into multiline container of same type as messages.
    (5) After 2 minutes Deadline Branch triggered.
    (6) Ends Block 1 moves to Block 2
    (7) Block 2 Transform Step of multiline container to single message type.
    Simple mapping ie
    <LIST> 1..unbounded    -->    <LIST> 1
    <S_STX>                     -->        <S_STX> 1..unbounded
    message1                                      message1
    <S_STX>                                 <S_STX> 2..
    <LIST>
    <LIST>
    <S_STX>
    message2
    <S_STX>
    <LIST>                        -->       <LIST>
    (8) Send step Single Message mapped using BIC Mapping to a Report XSLT Template.
If the process is successful then I get in XML message Monitor an entry and a payload. Of the concatenated messages.
If the process has an error the users want to be told about it as soon as possible hence I set up Alerting. Which works.
But on running a test scenario where message3 (structure is incorrect) at Step (7) the BPM throws the Alert correctly (no information passed as to error) and the Workflow Finishes.
In XML message Monitor the result is message1 is Greenflag. Message2, and Message3 are chequered flag.
No Message Payload generated from the BPM.
The users are not happy with this nor am I.
    (1) I look at Workflow Log of BPM and see that step(7) the transformation step has information in the container elements MAPPING and TRACE (no way to reference these from BPM I know of).
    (2) I read blogs etc and discover I should perhaps try to add more steps to my Exception/Alert Branch to try to deliver a Payload so the XML message Monitor shows something. Is this a correct assumption?
    (3) I try to make my Alert message more informative but I am not skilled in what information is available to identify the error. The Workflow Container is not enough.
If I add a container operation to instantiate a container variable I would like to grab the Payload at least of the multiline element.
    (4) To produce a Payload in the Exception Branch to output from the multiline element do I have to do a Loop and Container Operation to Split the multiline message up again into individual messages to send out to an error folder.
    (5) I am trying to make it easier for the users to find the errorred files than searching through the Archive folder from the initial receive step.
    (6) I am trying to stretch my knowledge of XI Error reporting so I can deliver a better solution to the users.
    (7) I have some Java Skills from 10 years ago when life was simpler hence very rusty and am finding it difficult to fit it into the context of UDF's (what information can be accessed etc).
I hope this is clearer about my self made problem. I should never have mentioned error messaging to the users...
    thanks,
    V

  • BPM use in the view of Customer

    Hello All,
I would like to know the usage of BPM in a customer point of view. I know how to use the BPM technically.
How can we recommend the BPM to the customer that BPM will fit for their requirements?
    Please advice?
    Many Thanks for your help!
    Kind Regards,
    Raghu

    Hi,
See cross-component BPM is very powerful and useful .
It depends upon the Business requirement we should select, When you have correct design of BPM model, then it will reduce the cost, reduce the risk, and mximum benfits, else , i mean if your BPM model is not properly desined , it will impact entire Business process .Ofcourse it will use maximum resorces and memory consumption...see before going to select BPM that business process should follow the following rules.
-Message-based communication :The business systems or applications involved can communicate by means of XML messages.
-Semantic relations between messages (correlations) :The messages that are to be processed in the process are related to each other in some way, for example, a purchase order and the relevant purchase order response.
If this is not the case, check whether you are able to realize the process simply by using just the Integration Server (without integration processes) instead.
-Correlations can be defined uniquely ::Correlations can be defined in such a way that they determine messages that belong together uniquely.
-Defined end condition:The process has a clear end condition. No instances of the process should usually last longer than a few days.
To avoid processes that run infinitely, always define a deadline as a unique stopping criterion.
    -No user action required
When you want to know about the uses BPM :those are as follows.
    -Control/Monitor the messages in XI
    -Collect/Merge the messages in XI
    -Split the messages in XI
    -To Multicast an Message
    -Send an Alert
    -Sync-Async Bridge
if you want to know more details about BPM you can see some BPM related Docs , but you siad you know BPM technically.
-If customer wants to integrate multiple systems at a time and process the statefull messages then they should use BPM.
-for example customer wants integrate their branches sending their production requirements to the head of the production program/ routing production program to multiple plants  that time they should use BPM.
-collecting the multiple related orders and group it and merge it to a order send it to target system, in this case they should use BPM.
like this so many features are in BPM..

  • BPM Use - HELP

    Hi Experts,
I've been working on XI for a while but new to BPM and the integration scenario I need to implement requires the BPM.  Can anyone help me out by laying out specific steps that need to be executed in the Integration Process (BPM).
This is the logic that I need to implement in BPM:
    1. We have four instance of IDOC coming into BPM at once.
    2. Need to extract the data from one of fields (FIELD1) from the first instance of IDOC.
    3. Looping through each instance of IDOCs, use extracted data from FIELD1 to find match by doing comparison of data in one of fields (FIELD10).
    4. If match found, execute a transformation and send it on to receiver and move on to the next instance of IDOC.
I would appreciate any detailed walk-through of steps that need to be implemented in the Integration Process Graphical Tool and what containers need to be set up.
    Thanks,
    Jay

    Hi,
This is collect the messages based on Message dependent Loop.
    see Message-Dependent Loop
The loop for receiving the messages is defined as an infinite loop. The infinite loop forms a branch within a fork. A receive step is defined in a parallel branch to receive the message that ends the process. The fork is complete when both branches return true. However, since the infinite loop always returns true, the fork is only complete when the message that ends the process is received.
    As per your requirement :
first one messages , i mean one instance of IDoc will be take on first receive step,
maitain the loop for receiving the next instances of Idocs and parrally check with the first instance of IDoc data with Context object or Xpath.
you can have the detailed step by step in  your system itself, goto , SAP BASIS SWCv and go and check for BPM patterns, there see for the above said BPM Pattern, sure you can have exact solution.

  • Invoking ALBPM (Oracle BPM) using Webservice calls

    Hi,
I am trying to invoke Oracle BPM processes using webservice dynamically using events. I am presently not able to find any samples in this regard. Could somebody help me figure out a way to invoke Oracle BPM process dynamically using events ?
I would like to avoid the use of polling as an option.
    TIA,

I too have this question. It seems like you can no longer use BPEL with BPM 6.5/10GR3. Is this in fact the case? To use BPEL do you have to revert back to version 6.0?

  • BPM USE CASE.

    Hi All,
I am new to oracle BPM and learning it through some samples. We need to build a process very soon and would like your advise on the use case.
    1. Everyday we need to run a process which grabs the records from the database based on some criteria. How can we implement this in BPM?
    2. We need to post these records(or notifications) to a group of users through webcenter client. How can we integrate webcenter to BPM?
    3. Users need to act on these notifications and after that the result should be synched up with the database.
    4. Automatic notifications should be sent to higher management if no action is taken on the prev notification.
I know i am asking too much. But we just need some pointers or high level suggestions as what kind of activities or process we need to use in BPM to implement this.
    Thanks very much.

    Hi
I am also a newbie and the following are some of my suggestions, experts can suggest a better way if there is any.
    1. Everyday we need to run a process which grabs the records from the database based on some criteria. How can we implement this in BPM? - I would guess you can use Mediator to poll the database and create the process
    2. We need to post these records(or notifications) to a group of users through webcenter client. How can we integrate webcenter to BPM? - BPM Integration with Webcenter is done using Process Portal
    3. Users need to act on these notifications and after that the result should be synched up with the database. - I would guess you can use Database Adapater to sync up the database
    4. Automatic notifications should be sent to higher management if no action is taken on the prev notification. - SLA can be set in the Human Task.
    Hope this helps.
    Venkat
