BPMN 2.0 transaction sub-process support

The BPMN 2.0 spec defines a Transaction Sub-process as follows:
A Transaction is a specialized type of Sub-Process that will have a special behavior that is controlled through a
transaction protocol (such as WS-Transaction). The boundary of the Sub-Process will be double-lined to indicate that it
is a Transaction (see Figure 10.33). - page 178
I cannot see how to model this activity in BPM Studio (11.1.1.7).  There doesn't appear to be the double-lined sub process activity available in the component panel.
Are transaction sub-processes supported in Oracle BPM Suite?

  • How to know which sub process(function) transaction codes belong to.

    Greetings all,
    I would like to know transaction codes belong to which sub process on SAP system.
    For example, MD04 belongs to 'MQ-MRP-R/3-MRP', SE38 belongs to 'IT-PRO-R/3-Programming'..something like that.
    Is there any way to check the definition on the system instead of just guessing by the function?
    Thank you very much in advance.
    Best regards,
    Miki Komatsu

    Hi,
    As per your query you create profile as per your requirment like PP,MM,FI,CO,SD etc and assign complete module. Here you will find all the related t-code which is belong to specific module.

  • Transaction and Process or sub-Process Automation

    I am undertaking a market survey of business process and in particular transaction or sub process automation in the SAP landscape. I am particularly interested in talking to SAP users who are operationally focused or people who are involved in business analysis or operations sustainment roles. The format of the interviews is one-on-one phone or face to face conversations lasting 30 minutes to 1 hour and will be your opportunity to tell me about methods and tools that you use to automate transactions and sub processes, why you do this and perhaps some of the gaps you see in the tools available. Participants in the survey will have the benefit of receiving summaries of the findings of the surveys as well as other research discoveries.  If you are interested in participating then please contact me.

  • BPM 11g Workspace Audit Trail not showing Sub process inner activities

    Hi all,
    I have been developing some BPM Process in JDev 11.1.1.5 and have deployed them in BPM Suite 11.1.1.5 over Windows Server 2003. I've found the following and would like to hear your opinion:
    1- The Process audit trail in BPM 11g Workspace shows the activities of the process but the Sub-Process call activity appears as just a single activity and you can not see the inner activities of the sub-process... making impossible to track the sub-process.
    2- In the EM Instance trail you can track the subprocess activities, but they appear wrong; diffrent names, diferente types (ex: interactive activity shown as service call)..etc..
    Are these known issues? is this the expected behaviour? Is it just some configuration I missed?
    Thanks for your time.

    For anyone with the same question, I got this from Oracle support about both questions:
    1- I checked with our Engineering team and regarding the expanding of the subprocess activity , it is planned to be released in 12g. So right now , it is a work in progress feature being addressed by our developers.
    2- Thanks a lot. I have reported a bug 12909848 to our Engineering team. You can track the status of the bug from the SR.

  • Business Process and sub Process IN ERM and CUP

    Hi Friends,
    We are in intial stage of GRC implimentation. Now I am uploading the roles into ERM and CUP. I have defined business processes and sub processes for the roles and upload the roles successfully in ERM. But when I am doing the same excercise in CUP especially during creation of sub process it is not allowing the charecter "-" in the name space.
    E.g. Business process name is EHS-SM (Uploaded to CUP)
           Sub process name is EHS-SM1.1 (not allowing to create in CUP wher as successfully created in ERM)
    My question is
    1. why it allows me to do the same thing in ERM but not in CUP.
    2. Is there any way to maintain the name with chaecter "-".
    For your information I am in the phase of defining the attributes for the roles.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi all,
    I will have a hard time ahead with  BP and SBP. all are in the same format. I dont think my company will agree to change the name of there BP  or SBP because they are thousands in count and also there is no other way around in GRC,
    Let give me a try...
    Thanks Guys for your support and time.

  • SAP T-Codes with Functiona Area, Business Process, Sub-Process wise details

    Hi Experts,
    I am Involved in GRC AC5.3 implementation Project. In this we need to work on complete Role-Redesign Process, which involves building of New Roles as per their requirement (Transaction used in past one Year). We find 3500 T-Codes, which are used by the client from past one year. We need to segregate the All the T-Codes into Functiona Area, Business Process, Sub-Process wise.
    *Is there any data source available on Complete information on SAP T-Codes with Functiona Area, Business Process, and Sub-Process wise details.
    Thank and Regards,
    Sathish...

    Hi Satish,
    As per my knowledge, Since the role design is more specific to any client there is no standard classification.
    However you can classify them taking leverage of sap provided rule set for RAR or Existing customized ruleset in your landscape, based on that you can start grouping the Tcodes  and start framing the roles.

  • Find a Sub Process Executed as part of a Main Process

    Hi Experts,
    My Requirement is to Create a .Net Application which constantly monitors if a POPUP Window of a Third Party Application is Open or Closed. As Soon as the Popup window is closed (There is an OK Button in the POPUP Window on click the window gets closed).
    I would like to run a Batch File which would do some maintenance activities.(I have already created the batch file) But I don't know how to Monitor if a POPUP Window of Third Party Application is Closed
    I Don't have access to the Third Party code.
    From the Task manager(of Windows Server 2012) i can see that the POP UP Window is displayed as a Sub Process under the main Process.
    Can you please suggest if this is possible, if so how to go forward with it.
    Joji

    Hello Joji,
    It seems that you are trying to hook a the windows close event from a .NET based application, as far as I know, there is not such a api available in .NET, you could have a try with windows api as SetWindowsHookEx function:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms644990(v=vs.85).aspx to intercept WM_CLOSE, WM_QUIT and WM_DESTROY. And check this link for an example of its usage in C#:

  • Sub Processes -- BPM

    Hi,
        I have designed a Process havins  a sub process and a human Activity , the output of the subprocess will be displayed in the human activity. the subprocess has a human activity and a automated activity .the automated activity returns a string which needs to be passed out of the sub process .
    I have assigned a corresponding process to the sub process., but still i could not get any output from the sub process. the end process event is assigned to default service in the subprocess.the output from the subprocess is always the empty response.
    Also i could not expand the subprocess in the main process.
    How can i acheive communication between main process and sub process.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Handling exceptions at Sub-Process Level

    Can we handle exceptions at Sub-Process level itself? Or do we need to transfer the exceptions to the main process and then only the admin user can handle them?

    The same thing applies to subprocesses. A subprocess is just a process that has been invoked by another process and the same exception handling rules apply to it.
    You can catch exceptions in any process using:
    <li> logic at the activity level using a try/catch block
    <li> an activity using an Exception transition
    <li> a Group in the process using an Exception transition
    <li> the process using an Exception Handler
    At a minimum, catch the "Others" exception using the Exception Handler. This ensures uncaught exceptions are not sent to the End activity (the default) and the instances are not lost. This simple best practice will save you days of debugging and several calls to customer support to resolve.

    Please find below, answers to your questions:
    1.What objects will come in SPAU and SPDD?
    Ans: All the objects which are modified, after tansporting to the current system,
    will be listed in SPAU and SPDD. SPDD contains the list of all modified Data Dictionary objects, like tables, dataelements, domains,view...etc. The rest of all the modified repository objects will be listed in SPAU.
    What happens to the modifications done in the older version when we upgrade the version? (with Modification assistant and w/o)
    Ans: After the initial upgrade happens, we have to do adjustments from SPAU/SPDD to maintain or reset the changes. That is, from the list of objects in SPAU/SPDD, you have to either carry forward the changes to the new version, by choosing the option ADOPT CHANGES (available on right click) or RESET TO ORIGINAL (available on right click).
    Will they come in these transactions?
    Ans: yes, they will be listed in these transactions, after the BASIS updgrade activity.
    And what if we apply some patches(Notes) to the system? What is the impact of these patches to the SPAU transaction?
    Ans: Patches will be supported by the version upgrade. In case of notes, we have to verify whether these notes are supported by the new version (you can go into http://www.service.sap.com/notes to verify this. Also, we have to analyze whther the code in the note is already incorporated in the new version. In this case you can ignore the chanes choosing RESET TO ORIGINAL option
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/2e/6d66587d9011d396b60000e82de14a/frameset.htm
    If you have applied any OSS notes to objects in your system, the hot package may overwrite these objects.
    SPDD is used to identify dictionary objects
    and
    SPAU (repository objects), will identify any objects where the hot package is overwriting changes you have made through OSS notes.
    You must check all objects identified in SPAU and decide whether you need to reapply the OSS note or reset the code to the original SAP Code.
    Also once the changes have been done you would see a green traffic light.
    If you double click on the modified object it will show you a split window where on the left you will have the original version and on right the modified version. So you can choose which to keep and which to reject. You may keep the modified version incases where you know that the notes will only be pakages in the next version.

  • Workarounds for lack of sub-folder support

    I'm trying to find a workaround for the lack of sub-folder support for photos. For example, are there any apps that synchronise my photos with the original folder structure from my PC? I've spent quite a lot of time searching, but can't find the right solution.

    Hi all. Hope this helps...
    There is NO sub-folder (two or more folder levels) support in OS3x and OS4x until today. Hope this will change in near future, however that also means foregoing smoothness operation of the iDevice due to how the internal memory works inside (so far, thousands of photos can be viewed without a lag because how fast the iDevice can find the memory location of each file inside its big memory, and creating sub-folders will take great amount of time for the processor to find, put-together, and present the many photos to screen).
    There are other applications that support photos with sub-folders (folders inside folders inside folders inside folders inside folders and so on), however these are not specialized photo viewing app and will not show picture thumbnails but file listing instead:
    - GoodReader
    - OPlayer
    Two good photo and video viewing apps with privacy security; Photo Safe and Video Safe, are also available, which supports high-definition without reducing photo quality as in original iDevice, BUT does not support sub-folders (only one level folders/albums).
    I was hoping iOS4 had the Sub-folders feature for its iPhoto... doesn't have to be three-folder levels, but just additional one level sub-folders would be great.
    Cheers!

  • Can we define a function in a sub process?

    Hi ,
    I want to know whether we can define a function in a sub-process ? coz I see only notifications defined in the sub_process in seeded oracle workflows .
    also highlight if we are the running the workflow from developer studio do we need call the main process first or the sub-process first ?
    Regards,
    Shashk

    Hello Shashk,
    Yes functions can be used in sub-processes. If you are creating a custom function, it must be defined in a specific fashion to work with WF. See the Workflow Developer Guide for your version. 2.6.2 available here:
    [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/workflow.920/a95265/toc.htm|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/workflow.920/a95265/toc.htm]
    Not sure about Developer Studio per se but typically you can run any process in a workflow that is marked 'runnable'.

  • Configuration Guide for Transaction Banking Process Chain - 0TB_DM_INIT_P01

    Hi All,
    Just wondering whether there is any Configuration Guide available for various Transaction Banking Process Chains, like,  [0TB_DM_INIT_P01|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/7e/0d6a99cbdf4873998b533e088b6a1b/frameset.htm], etc.
    These process chains in Activity Status Coversion (i.e. Dormancy management) are quite complex and I have been able to activate the chains - but while running some of the processes are giving errors...
    So, was wondering whether any Building Block Configuration Guide like CRM Analytics (or, others) available or not?
    If not, should I just open an OSS ticket to get official guide from SAP?
    Thanks for help.

  • Error in 'eMail Response - Process Message' --- Error running sub-process 'eMail Response - Create Activity' at step 'Create Activity Process'.(

    Hi,
    When I was simulating the 'eMail Response - Process Message', I had been getting the below error when entering to 'Create activity Process' step.(provided all the inputs per testmode.xml file)
    Error running sub-process 'eMail Response - Create Activity' at step 'Create Activity Process'.(SBL-BPR-00183)
    I increased the log level to 5 and got the below message in log file
    ObjMgrBusServiceLog    InvokeMethod    4    0000000251b51f04:0    2013-06-10 01:30:12    Begin: Business Service 'XML Hierarchy Converter' invoke method: 'DocToHier' at 12cc4240

    I was wondering I could not find 'XML Hierarchy Converter' business service in 'eMail Response - Process Message' and 'eMail Response - Create Activity' sub process.
    Can any body help me out in this regard.
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi Naresh,
    yes, I am using the delete polling strategy. Here is the .jca file:
    <adapter-config name="Pozadavky" adapter="Database Adapter" wsdlLocation="Pozadavky.wsdl" xmlns="http://platform.integration.oracle/blocks/adapter/fw/metadata">
    <connection-factory location="eis/DB/PozadavkyConn" UIConnectionName="PozadavkyConn" adapterRef=""/>
    <endpoint-activation portType="Pozadavky_ptt" operation="receive">
    <activation-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.db.DBActivationSpec">
    <property name="DescriptorName" value="Pozadavky.Pozadavky"/>
    <property name="QueryName" value="PozadavkySelect"/>
    <property name="MappingsMetaDataURL" value="Pozadavky-or-mappings.xml"/>
    <property name="PollingStrategy" value="DeletePollingStrategy"/>
    <property name="PollingInterval" value="120"/>
    <property name="MaxRaiseSize" value="1"/>
    <property name="MaxTransactionSize" value="10"/>
    <property name="NumberOfThreads" value="1"/>
    <property name="ReturnSingleResultSet" value="false"/>
    </activation-spec>
    </endpoint-activation>
    </adapter-config>

  • Unable to start from sub process

    The scenario of our application is :
    We have multiple processes,each again having multiple activities inside them.
    There is one main processes and the others are all sub processes.
    The main process looks something like below :
    Start->Sub-process1->Sub-Process2->Sub-Process3->Sub-Process4->Sub-Process5->End
    My requirement is to start the main process from Sub-Process2,rather than the usual way of instantiating the main process.
    I tried configuring Sub-Process2 as an alternative Start (in the Work Flow Builder),but that doesnt seem to be working.
    I am using Java APIs to interact with Oracle Work Flow.
    Any ideas ??
    Amit.

    One possibility is to call WF_ENGINE.CompleteActivity() if you need to start a process with an activity node that is mid-stream in a process thread and not at the beginning of a process thread. The activity node you specify as the beginning of the process must be set to 'Start' in the Node tab of its property page.
