BPMon: Closing Cockpit Monitoring in R/3 system.
Hi all,
In our R/3 system, we are using functionality called Closing Cockpit. It's a standard SAP set of transaction codes that allow the creation, execution and basic monitoring of a schedule of SAP activities by setting sequences, timings and people responsible for each of the activities. These tasks are executed via the cockpit so all tasks can be monitored for completion
I don't see any reference in the standard list of key figures for BPMon which would allow the results of these monitors to be brought into Solution Manager and monitored from there along with our other monitors. Is it possible to use BPMon to monitor Closing Cockpit in this way?
Thanks,
John
Hello John,
there is no integration between Closing Cockpit tasks and BPMon. There are currently also no plans to work towards an integration into this direction. What was integrated is Financial Closing cockpit and SAP Central Process Scheduling by Redwood. I think I already shared some slides on this last year during our joint workshop.
Best Regards

Import template from closing cockpit
Hi all,
While importing template from closing cockpit from one client(Development System) to another client (Quality System), the "Variant ", "Notes" & "Office Document" added to task are not getting imported to receiving client(Quality System).
Is there any other procedure or OSS Note to be implemented.
Thanks & Regards,
vijayThere are many things need to be corrected for Closing Cockpit. And I think SAP is currently working on it they released many notes on July 08, 15 and 17.
May be for now you cannot transport with doc, notes and variants.

ECC 6.0 Closing Cockpit Functionaility
Hi,
We plan to use the Closing Cockpit functionality of ECC 6.0 for Period-end closing.
How does the Closing Cockpit help in period-end closing activities?
Is the following possible using the Closing Cockpit functionality?
1. Can standard period-end SAP transactions including recurring entries, Period-end assessments / distributions be automatically executed?
2. Does this help only in Scheduling the period-end activities?
Regards,
R.RajaramanR.
1. Yes. Similar to the previous solution (Schedule Manager), the closing cockpit allows you to create task plans that include various tcodes or programs. You can add KSU5, KSV5, and any others that you want.
2. It helps in scheduling. You can establish relationship between the programs (finish-start relationships). But I think the bigger help is in monitoring the entire close process... you'll be able to view in a timeline format all of the steps that you've defined and what their current status is. This is particularly helpful where some of those steps are executed de-centrally.

Email notifications via Closing Cockpit
Dear Friends,
Our client wishes to implement closing cockpit in their ECC system. We do not plan to implement Financial Closing Cockpit as it requires additional license (additional cost). We wish to send email notifications as advance intimation to the user and subsequent message after completion of particular task. However this needs to be sent automatically as a preconfigured mail. Is this possible ? We have on EHP6 . Please share your views /suggestions/solutions.

Hello all,
I'd like to implement the Closing Cockpit for a portal use but I've seen that it's necessary to have SAP CPS implemented in the system to use this functionality.
My customer would like to use the Closing Cockpit without implementing SAP CPS.
I'd like to know if ithere is a way to implement and use the closing cockpit without SAP CPS and if yes, which functionalities will not be available?
Thank you for your answers.
Have a good day.Hi Eli,
Thank you for your answer.
I have one question about this link :
You can comfortably accomplish all of the closing tasks within a single ERP system.
If you nevertheless want to run the tasks of Closing Cockpit in multiple systems, you also can connect the SAP Central Process Scheduling application by Redwood to the Closing Cockpit application.
Actually in the company we have the ECC 6 version of SAP but multiple servers with different production instances.
I don't understand clearly what kind of "multiple systems" the SAP documentation is talking about.
Does it represent multiple ERP systems or multiple servers?
Thanks

Closing Cockpit - Config without transports
Hi!
We are running ECC 6 with ehp 4 and are using the closing cockpit.
The financial people are updating their templates on a regular basis.
To do this they are using t-code CLOCOC and According to the standard process this is made in the development system and from there transported to the production system.
This process is time consuming and needs a BASIS resource to be completed (transports).
To avoid this we have tried to make CLOCOC config modifiable in a nonmodifiable client (production) by setting the "current settings" checkbox for CLOCOC on SOBJ and transported this to production. Unfortunately this hasnu2019t helped us.
We are still getting the error "Client 100 has status 'not modifiable'".
So now Iu2019m in a desperate need of a solution. In worst case we will continue using the standard process.
Kind Regards

Edited by: Efe Efeoglu on Jun 18, 2010 9:24 AMHi Andre, hi Satish,
we are facing the same problem at the moment.
CLOCOC, TSCMA and SCMATREE are all marked as current settings using SOBJ. Client status is "productive".
I have found some information about a pilot note dealing with the problem, but the note is in development since 2011 and is still not released (OSS 1179482).
Have you find any solution to this problem?

Conduct Planning and Research
Create the basic template data
Build the closing template hierarchy structure
Configure individual tasks
Change the template to an executable task list
For delivering the Closing Cockpit successfully, you need to have a clear understanding of the current closing routines, the required tasks, who is responsible for each task, which tasks when executed should affect which level of the organization, and finally a clear process for review and documentation. -
Selection variable for next month in RFPERIOD_OPEN in closing cockpit
Hi,
we would like to use RFPERIOD_OPEN in the closing cockpit in order to open the next period on D-10 automatically. I would like to use the selection variables of the closing cockpit in the program variant in order to avoid unnecessary variant maintenance every month.
Unfortunately I cannot find a variable for the next month. There is only SAP_FAST_CLOSE_PERIOD_P. Do you know if it is possible to base a calculation logic to derive the next period from SAP_FAST_CLOSE_PERIOD_P.
Thanks!
Kind regards,
MariyaThanks! I checked it, but the appearance of months and order is okay in T247.
Any other ideas?
I thought I read somewhere that this is a bug but can´t remember where I found that bug hint. -
Performance monitoring in a multitier system
Hello,
Is it possible to identify a session by a service name (for performance monitoring) in a multitier system? I mean, the session of an X user precisely.
Thank you.>
Is it possible to identify a session by a service name (for performance monitoring) in a multitier system? I mean, the session of an X user precisely. The critical thing here is whether you have control over the code or not - what's
your situation?
If you do have control, then instrument your code.
If not, you can use a monitoring framework - say Nagios - but don't forget the old
traditionals such as syslogd and logging different component messages to a
central logging server. Don't neglect the OS native tools. The problem with these
is that it is difficult to tie one particular session to performance problems.
Having a test system is also a very* good idea - you can run just one session and
see exactly what's happening in a given situation. In fact, if you don't have a test system,
your first* priority after reading this post should be to implement one.

Hello everyone,
Can you add a task to a template on the closing cockpit once it has been released? If so, how do you it?
Thanks .From what I read from the link I sent you and the little test I carried out, this is how to proceed.
1. T.code: CLOCO
2. Click on Edit --> Display --> Change
3. Then click on Template/Task List on the menu bar
4. Click on import closing cockpit and select your template/task list
5. Now right click on the folder where you want to add new tasks and create it from there.
Hopes this helps.

I am trying to configure the closing cockpit. Is it possible to start a job that has already been defined? or does a flow definition need to be defined?
Thank you for you input. However, I need some clearficiation. I have created in the job in Schedule manager (SM37) However, I want the job to run after a specified task in the closing cockpit. Is there a way to start the job in schedule manager from a task in the closing cockpit? Ideally I would like to click on a task in the closing cockpit and it start the job in schedule manager. Is that possible?

Closing Cockpit- Are these standard?
Hi Experts
Please guide whether the following metrics can be derived as Standard from Closing Cockpit
Number of journals waiting to be processed
Percentage of month end tasks complete
Sub-ledgers closed on time
Number of journals processed
Number of man hours to do month end
Number of unplanned hours to do month end
Number of journals to correct following management review
Time to close month end
Number of journals waiting to be approved
Timeliness of accruals and deferals (completion on I working day1)
Regards
Varun- you configure it within ECC using TCode CLOCOC and use it via TCode CLOCO.
- closing cockpit dashboard would proivde most of the information you have.

Does two seperate client required if the solman monitors DEV and QAS system
Hi All,
This is our client landscape:
1 Dev-SolMan->For all development and quality systems(ECC 6.0, BI and EP).
1 PRD-SolMan->For all production systems(ECC 6.0, BI and EP).
Note: We have build only DEV-SolMan system as of now and we haven't done any configuration yet like either service desk or ChaRm.
The question is:
Do we need to have two seperate clients in DEV-Solman, one for all development systems and one for all quality systems? or Can we have a single client in DEV-Solman to handle all development and quality systems? What is the SAP recommented approach?
Thanks
SanjaiHi,
you even don't need separate Solution Manager systems to monitor DEV / QA and Prod. You could use one SolMan client to monitor and administrate all systems / clients.
Maybe it would be a good idea to create different Solution Landscapes, but this depends on your need.
Separate clients are no good option, because CHARM can only activated in on client. Also if you plan to activate charm, you need a solution that contains all systems in your transport landscape (DEV, QAnad Prod).
Kind Regards,
Holger
