BPMon monitor time point

hi, experts，
I configured BPMon successfully, and its monitor type is Application monitor, Table entry counter.
In monitor schedule, I defined data collection to run on a weekly, and specified the time period in 5 min. In monitor activies I configured the frequency is every 1/2 hour.
But i found we got the information from BPM every 10 min.
so, is there any one who can tell me the time principle about BPM data collection? Thanks very much.

Hi,
the time frequency maintained under "Monitoring Schedule" for the respective monitoring object is defining the data collection period. So from what you wrote it should be every 5 minutes.
The Monitoring Activities area is just an area for documentation where you state which person or group should monitor or check monitoring results in which frequency. So your 30 minutes has no influence on the data collection itself.
So please reduce the data collection frequency from every 5 to every 30 minutes. If you get then emails not the way you exepct to then open an OSS ticket on component SV-SMG-MON-BPM.

Monitoring Time Machine Backups

I've scanned documentation, these forums, and google, but I cannot seem to find an answer for something that I think should be relatively simple:
How can I monitor the status of Time Machine for my network users?
I have some workstations backing up to an Xserve (running Leopard server) shared drive with Time Machine, and it seemed to work great when I first set it up. However, I noticed one of my users had a warning on Time Machine, which I was able to resolve and continue backups.
My problem is that if I had not seen the error on the workstation, I would've never known it was there and would've had a very unpleasant surprise should the need to restore that workstation ever arise.
I checked the Time Machine sparsebundles and noticed the modified date did not change even when Time Machine functioned as it should.
So, I'm now struggling to find a way to be alerted of Time Machine errors or at least be able to monitor Time Machine without having to go from workstation to workstation.
If anybody has any suggestions, or can point out something I've missed, it would be a tremendous help.

I will take a crack at thinking through this although I do not have a solution, per say..
1) If you centralize the syslog function for the clients (or possibly, centralize just the time machine syslog stream), you could write a program to look at the logs once per hr or once per day and report time machine failures.
2) Of course, you could do the same on each client. Run a routine to parse the system.log file and look for time machine errors and report them in email.
3) On the server, you could mount the sparsebundle (read only is a good idea) and do pathname lookups for recent backups. No recent backups would indicate time machine is not running correctly..
I am not sure if mounting the sparse bundle on the server could cause a failure for a network client mounting the bundle at the same time but you could test that fairly quickly.
4) I would not be surprised there is some interface not documented and hopefully we might see an answer like that forth coming..

Cannot pause or preview animation to a certain time point.

Hello All,
I have Adobe Captivate 4. I am leaving my work in 2 weeks time and i have been asked to record and talk about the software applications i use for my job.
I record my application (Autodesk Inventor) and it inserts the full motion preview into the slide. However i want to add highlight boxes, captions, text etc etc. So i use the timeline at the bottom and drag it to the right. As i am dragging it to lets say 20 seconds into the slide the animation (recording) is previwing as its meant to do. But once i release the mouse and leave the point to 20 seconds the animation previews at 0 seconds and no longer 20 seconds. But the red slider is still on 20 seconds (hope i am making sense here).
Its extremly fustrating because i cant add highlight boxes, text, captions etc because i cant get the animation to preview and stop at a certain time point.
Anyone know the cause of this?
I am using Windows 7 64-bit and i have ran the application as administrator.

Perhaps it will help to explain how to exploit what is quite possibly a bug in Captivate.
Using the technique of scrubbing the playhead (clicking and dragging the playhead on the Timeline) keep the mouse button clicked as you press Alt+Tab to shift focus to another application. (the other application should be running full screen)
After the other application gains focus, release the mouse button.
Press Alt+Tab to return to Captivate.
What you should see at this point is that Captivate should behave as if you paused it. The playhead should be right where you left it with everything in view. You should now be able to insert a Text Caption or other object.
While I'm aware it's likely not what you were hoping for, perhaps it's better than nothing?

Plotting data against time points in a chart

I am trying to plot some measurements at different time points in a chart. However the time time points are not regular. They are at 0, 0.5 hours, 24 hours, 24.5 hours, 48 hours etc.
When I try to chart the data the chart always has the x-axis points at regular intervals so it doesn't represent change over time. Is there a way of charting the points at the relative point along the x-axis over time without having to use a table with a time point for every 30 mins?

Read the chapter on Charts in the Numbers User Guide. You can download it from the Help Menu.
There are two basic classes of Chart; Category and Scatter. In a Category Chart, which it appears you are using, the "X-Axis Values" are actually treated as Labels with no particular numeric value. In a Scatter Chart, which it appears you would like to be using, the X-Axis uses true values.
If you study the available Chart types you will see that all but one are Category Charts. You can plot a line with a Scatter Chart by adding connecting lines. You can also simulate a bar chart in a Scatter Chart if that's the look you want, by charting series that have only two data points; X,0 and X,Y.
Which type of chart you pick will affect your choice of table layout. Category Charts require Text Fields for the Category Labels and Value fields for Y-Values. Scatter Charts require Values for both axes.

Failed TM backup after Mavericks upgrade via clean install. Nothing works incl. "tmutil" command. The time points appear but not clickable.

I upgraded to Mountain Lion via clean install. Restoring my data via migration assistant failed. Then I tried Time Machine. Altough I can see all backup time points no one is active. Then I tried to inherent and to associate the backups to the "new" disk, but it didn´t work.

Hit the nail on the head Eric, I have quite a lot in there due to system age, so turned them all off and had a nice fast system returned with no hanging.
so definately something in the startup group and i will try each at a time and see where the problem comes from..
Looking at more logs my guess is the problem will be with one of -
sabnzbd
sickbeard
both of which starting on login, both using databases and im seeing sql errors on startup...
more info when i have enabled/disabled some more apps.

Browser freezing up when clicking Monitor - Access Points

Is there anyone else having problems with the browser freezing up when (in Classical Mode) clicking Monitor -> Access Points? Clicking Configure -> Access Points works as it should. Sometimes the browser unfreezes after a while but no output is displayed on the page.
We're running Cisco Prime Infrastructure version 1.3 (in HA-mode if that makes a difference but the problem exists even after failing over).
I've tried Chrome, IE9 and Firefox 19.0.2 and the problem exists in all of them.

I know that my version of Firefox isn't supported but according to the list of supported browsers these are ok:
IE: 8 and 9
Firefox: 10 - 14 (everything else works in 19)
Chrome
Since two of the browsers I used to test are supported it doesn't feel like a browser-problem

License for Monitor Access Point

Dear Friends,
I have a 5508 controller with 200 access points . I have additional 10 access points to be used as Monitor Mode, as this will be connected to the MSSE. Question here is does the monitor access points requires licenses to configure on the controller or does IPS license of 25 AP's is enough for MSE.
I think for these 10 Monitor Access Points, we need to have licenses for the controller as well as MSE license for the access point. Am I right in this assumption?

Hi Sid,
the license on the WLC is for "joined APs" whatever is their role. So monitor mode APs count the same as other APs.

This won't be real-time as you record, but you could tweak the EQ in real-time after the recording thus:
Record what you want to tweak into GB with no effects.
Solo the track and output it into something like Audacity.
Start Audacity recording, then play your track in GB as you make those tweaks. That's what Audacity will record.
Get that file from Audacity and put it into GB, then you'll have that effect.
Sorry if it's complicated, but that's what came to mind. Hope it works.

Two trim selections in source monitor time ruler. (Premiere Pro CC2014)

I'm really confused by this apparent new feature, or glitch, in PP. I'm working on an old project that has been upgraded from CS6 through CC, and now to CC2014. Several of my clips have shifted to a different point in the source media, so the clip is still the same length on the timeline but contains a completely different part of the footage. When I double-click the clip in the time line to open it in the source monitor I get two trims on the time ruler like this:
I am absolutely confused by this, I've never seen it before. More importantly I don't seem to be able to relocate either of them independently to get the correct section of the footage into my cut, and I can't seem to delete one of them.
Is this something that's been caused by the upgrade, or is it a changed setting/preference in CC 2014. I haven't had this problem in any other project prior to installing 2014 earlier this week and now I'm hesitant to open any other projects in case it makes a mess of them too!

The blue part is the video the green part the audio (this has been always been in Premiere)
If you check Linked Selection (next to the wrench) it probably will 'merge" when you double click on it.

Can BPMon monitor jobs stuck in 'Released' mode?

the Start Delay in BPMon should wok anyway it just depends on the start procedure you use.
In your case without a pre-defined start time you should chose start procedure "use job start condition" then every job is picked up if the name fits the critieria. On with this start procedure the start delay corresponds to the information in SM37.
If you use the start procedure "by time" instead then you have to enter a planned start time and then BPMon measures the deviation from this start time, so here we are talking about a real start delay from a business perspective. In the former case we "only" talk about a technical delay that you see in SM37.
For the purpose described below you should go with the first option I described.

Is there a way to monitor Time Machine's current backup task?

I started a second Time Machine backup to a NAS yesterday (in addition to my local TM Backup, which will now be taken offsite). It took a good 24hrs to finish, which was expected over WiFi. Since the initial backup, all the hourly backups have seemed normal...20-80 MB or so. Then all of a sudden this morning, I noticed the backup was taking longer than usual. I think it was indicating something around "1.09 GB of 1.09 GB", which seemed like a lot. I checked again, and the latter number had increased...something like "2.10 GB of 2.10 GB". I'm not running a VM, and there are no other obvious reasons the backup would be so big. I figured I'd let it go. I checked back again 30mins later and it was up to 69.1 GB of 69.1 GB.
So what's going on here? TM typically knows exactly how much it needs to backup before it starts copying files. Why would the latter number continue to go up, particularly when there's no obvious reason for the extra data to backup?
I tried opening the .inprogress pkg, but the folder size calcs weren't nearly fast enough for me to see where the backup was going. I tried the fseventer app, but it didn't seem very clear where files were being copied from; I could see where they were being placed, but since the backup is encrypted, backupd was writing to slices in the sparseimage, rather than an obvious hiearchy.
Is there a way to monitor the files that TM is currently backing up...say in real time? Is there a debug logging mode for the backupd? Or is there a log of the files that were copied in the last backup? I'd prefer to see this in real time, so that last option would be least useful.
I've poked through the great resources over at pondini.org, but nothing seems to really cover a backup that's in progress.
Thanks in advance for any tips or ideas.
p.s. I finally ended up stopping the really long backup; rebooted; restarted the backup manually, and this time it was a much more managable 500 MB. Additionally, I could see that during the final "cleaing up" stage, it removed the huge .inprogress file.

Choose Connect to Server from the Finder's Go menu, provide the first computer's IP address, log in, and set it up in the Time Machine pane of System Preferences.

I have one simple requet to monitor some business critial access point. All of them are thin AP then obviously I can not poll SNMP directly. What I need is email notification of AP up/down status.
I have mutiple wireless lan controller (4400, 5508 and WiSM on 6509) and a WCS. Is there anybody can tell me how to fullfill this? Thanks in advance.

TREX Monitor - Null Pointer Exception

See if this works: On your EP6 box make sure in your PATH statement variable you have a path set to your os_libs directory. There is a note about it causing the nullpointer exception in the trex monitor if that variable is not present.
