BPS display of batch loaded data
Hello,
I have a BPS data entry cube that I have created BPS templates for loading forecast numbers. From another transactional cube I loaded data into the planning cube to provide a framework for entering the forecast. The issue is I am unable to see the batch entered data in the BPS templates. When entering something manually in the BPS template closing out then returning the data that was manually entered does display. Should I be able to do this and where might my errors be in the display of the batch entered data?
Thank you.
Hello,
I found the issue. It occurs then the key figure value = 0. If I load a dummy number in to the rows then they display. '
Is there an option for displaying entries in a template that are = 0?
Thank you.

How to batch load data to several tables
Hi,
One customer have such data structure and have large number of data(arround 10 Million). I think it's proper to convert them to data that SQL loader can recognize and then insert into Oracle 8 or 9. The question is how to convert?
Or maybe to insert them one by one is simpler?
1: Component of Data
The data file consists of nameplate and some records.
1.1 Structure of nameplate
ID datatype length(byte) comments
1 char 4
2 char 19
3 char 2
4 char 6 records in this file
5 char 8
1.2 structure of each record
ID datatype length(byte)
1 char 21
2 char 18
3 char 30
4 char 1
5 char 8
6 char 2
7 char 6
8 char 70
9 char 30
10 char 8
11 char 8
12 char 1
13 char 1
14 char 1
15 char 30
16 char 20
17 char 6
18 char 70
19 char 5
24 bin(blob) 1024
25 bin(blob) defined in ID19
2: data file and table spaces in database
dataID 1-13 of each record insert to table1,
14-18 to table2, and 19,24,25 to table3
Is there a method to convert them to some data that SQL loader can input and then at a whole load into Oracle 8 or 9?
Thanks &Regards.I've check the Oracle Utilities docs, but did not find a way to load so many data files at a batch action.
In my view the solution consist in two ways:
1, Load each of them individualy individually to different tables by some programme. But the speed may be problem because the uninterrupted db connections and close.
2, Convert them to one or three files then use SQL loader.
But either isn't much easy, I wonder if there's a better method to handle.
Many thanks! -
How to display metadata such as data load date in answers report title?
We have a requirement to display the last load date of the data relevant to the report the user is viewing. We have such information stored in a metadata table listed by the fact table the report is referencing. Our proposed solution is to create new answers reports off of this metadata table and put each report (with the appropriate filter on the fact table) on each dashboard section where the corresponding report is placed. One problem with this approach is the load date information will not be reflected in the print form of the report as the date is dashboard content - not report content. Is there any way to overcome this situation (other than create a ton of variables specifically created for this purpose)? I'm open to entertaining javascript ideas, if necessary. I would love to know how to push this OBIEE envelope further. Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I discuss with some people who are familiar with SharePoint, we both thought Windows Explorer may
not accept the custom metadata.
if we want to do some customization, it is recommended to ask for help in development forum.

Oracle BPM 10gR3 Dashboards - Error in loading data
We have an issue with oracle bpm 10g dashboards. Chart component in the presentation displays "Error in loading data". There is no exception, the attached method returns valid x,y co-ordinates.If we enable 'user refresh" property of the chart component and click on refresh in the presention, it displays the chart. Any change in the presentation(change a drop down a value, etc) sets it again as "Error in loading data" and click on refresh brings back the chart.
Adding this.refreshGraphicImage(graphicId : "chart") in the code to refresh the chart also din't help.
please let me know if anybody has faced similar issue.
Thanks,
GopiYou have to set "fuego.workspace.execution.ajax.enabled" property to FALSE in the workspace.properties, that is located in ...\webapps\workspace\WEB-INF
Hope it helps! -
Loading data from excel to BPS layout
Hi,
I have BPS layouts in place and also excel sheets which are exact replica of those layouts.
I know 2 options to load excel data into the BPS. These are:
1) Copy and paste the data from excel to BPS layout.
2) Create a flat file in line format from excel and then use method explained in document "How to Load a Flat File into BW-BPS Using SAPGUI.pdf".
Is there any other way I can upload the same?
Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.
thanks in advance.
regards,
PankajThanks to Vlad, Laurent & Srini for prompt replies.
But here the user needs to load data directly to the transactional cube.
So it is a case of "instead of keying in values" on to the BPS planning layout, user wants to upload the data from excel into the BPS layout.
Planning is done on SAP GUI and not web browser.
I am able to do the same using the document "How to Load a Flat File into BW-BPS Using SAPGUI".
But in this case the data needs to be converted into a simple csv file in line item format before it can be uploaded.
Is there any way, where we can upload from excel file without having it to change to csv format as required in "How to Load a Flat File into BW-BPS Using SAPGUI"?
thanks in advance.

How to load data in realtime/transactional cube for BPS
hello all,
I have installed the neccessary cube from business content and all the neccesary content. how do I get data in that real time/transactional cube. SInce we dont have any rules or datasource or anything so its confusing me can someone please help me.
If you have any other imp point to share about this please help.
Thanks in advanceHi Raj,
Transactional cubes are filled with data using the BPS layouts. They do not require any update rules for this purpose.
However you can also load the data from your source system into this cube and for this you will need to usual Update rules, InfoSource etc. Before loading data you may need to check if the Cube is enabled for Reporting (in RSA1 > right click> Swtich transactional cube.
Hope this helps... -

164Hi Hardeep,
Looks like the transformation and DTP need to be activated again.
The error is RSBK (299) - 'Invalid program status'. So please activate the transformation and DTP possibly activate the DSO's too.
It should then work.
Thanks

IStore Images Batch Load Issue
Hello All,
We have been working on setting up a Batch load for product images for our iStore and have run into an issue. First off, this is more of a batch association since we are using already existing items.
The issue we are having is that we are using APPS.IBE_LOGICALCONTENT_GRP.SAVE_DELETE_LGL_CTNT API to tie the images to the items. The process runs without error, but on inspection of the iStore page, the link to the image is bad causing no image to be displayed. Going through the iStore Admin and checking the Catalog / Content everything looks fine.
If I remove the association to the content for the item, apply the change, then re-associate the content and apply, everything works fine. So, it would appear that the content is not the issue. We will be loading 1000+ image associations, so having to manually fix each one is not a very good option.
After creating the Item - Content association, is there another API or something else that needs to be run so that the image correctly shows up on the iStore?
Thanks
Kyle1. Did you try using save_logical_content API.
2. Did you verify the table IBE_DSP_OBJ_LGL_CTNT, IBE_DSP_LGL_PHYS_MAP. If data exists, Please send me an email to [email protected]
Thanks

Slow Loading data from DB, one record at a time, HOW?
I am currently doing a project....
I need to display a record of data on a "form"(JFrame)
the way i handle it is
1. Load first record
2. pass to the display object
3. display object -> on click next, call manager object to process the request
4. manager, get next record with the help of DBManager
5. manager, set the record into the display object
6. manager, command object to refresh screen...
manager contains DBManager and disply instance....
it work perfectly fine for the first 20 or so record, but after some time, every click is slowed down about 20 over times...
i.e. first record take .5 sec, 50th take 30 sec
I traced the memory usage it is ok... but what could the problem be???
Memory usage list...

I was wondering about a compelling reason, why you want to go back to the database on every click. I would fetch "X" rows at a time from the Database and cache them as Value Objects. X could be 10 or even 100. It depends on your requirements.
As far as the performance going down there could be lot of reasons. Do you open and close the connection on every click. How many connections are open at a time? do you close the connection? or the connection is alive?

Input ready query is not showing loaded data in the cube
Dear Experts,
In Input ready query we have problem that it is not showing the values which was not entered by throught hat query. Is any settings in input ready query that we can do to populate the loaded data on the cube as well as data entered through Input ready query itself.
Thanks,
Gopi RHi,
input ready queries always should display most recent data (i.e. all green and the yellow request). So you can check the status of the requests in the real-time InfoCube. There should exist only green requests and maybe at most one yellow request.
In addition you can try to delete the OLAP cache for the plan buffer query: Use RSRCACHE to do this. The technical names of the plan buffer query can be found as follows:
1. InfoCube\!!1InfoCube, e.g. ZTSC0T003/!!1ZTSC0T003 if ZTSC0T003 is the technical name of the InfoCube
2. MPRO\!!1MPRO, e.g. ZTSC0M002/!!1ZTSC0M002 if ZTSC0M002 is the technical name of the multiprovider
If the input ready query is defined on an aggregation level using a real-time InfoCube, the first case is relevant; if the aggregation level is defined on a multiprovider the second case is relevant. If the input-ready query is defined on a multiprovider containing aggregation levels again the first case is relevant (find the real-time InfoCubes used in the aggregation level).

Errors when loading data to ODS
Hi,
I am getting the following dump when loading data to ODS
whta might be the problem
Runtime Error MESSAGE_TYPE_X
Date and Time 29.09.2006 14:26:52
ShrtText
The current application triggered a termination with a short dump.
What happened?
The current application program detected a situation which really
should not occur. Therefore, a termination with a short dump was
triggered on purpose by the key word MESSAGE (type X).
What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
date.
is especially useful if you want to keep a particular message.

How to correct the error
Probably the only way to eliminate the error is to correct the program.
You may able to find an interim solution to the problem
in the SAP note system. If you have access to the note system yourself,
use the following search criteria:
"MESSAGE_TYPE_X" C
"SAPLSDCL" or "LSDCLF00"
"INTERNAL_ERROR"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and you wish to send
an error message to SAP, include the following documents:
1. A printout of the problem description (short dump)
To obtain this, select in the current display "System->List->
Save->Local File (unconverted)".
2. A suitable printout of the system log
To obtain this, call the system log through transaction SM21.
Limit the time interval to 10 minutes before and 5 minutes
after the short dump. In the display, then select the function
"System->List->Save->Local File (unconverted)".
3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
supply the source code.
To do this, select the Editor function "Further Utilities->
Upload/Download->Download".
4. Details regarding the conditions under which the error occurred
or which actions and input led to the error.

No system load data available in st03
Dear Guru,
When i am executing Tcode ST03 it is showing that "No system load data available"
when i am executing "RSSTAT83" report then its thriwing "LOGDB_SSCR_NOT_FOUND" dump.
statndard job getting cancelled thats why i hae change the status of all standard btc jobs.
but system is still too much slow. Right now there is no job running.my patch level is also 14 of both abap & basis.
What to do......Hi Gaurav
this kind of error belongs to In correct time Zones, OS Time and R/3 Time was different, please set both time zones same in all clients using STZAC Tcode
again if not slove your problem then fallow this procedure.
It is possible that the workload collector is not schedule. To schedule the collector, choose, in Expert user mode, Collector -> Perf. Monitor Collector -> Execution Times in the left subscreen. The system displays the Contents of table TCOLL screen. Ensure that the report RSSTAT83 is scheduled hourly.
if not scheduled hourly, then execute aboue report in SE38

Unable to load data / NullReferenceException only on certain tables when deployed
I have a LightSwitch app that works fine when being debugged locally. But it has a strange issue when deployed as a Cloud Service to Azure. I have two Silverlight grid controls on the page which display a red x and give the error, "Unable to load data.
Please check your network connection and try loading again."
Several other queries are running on this page and correctly pull data from other tables in the database. The queries that run correctly are tied to label or text box controls.
The queries that fail, return an HTTP Status code 500 (Internal error). If I try and pass the query to a constructor as an IVisualCollection,
and I wrap the call in a Try block,
the Inner Exception is "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." So, a Null Reference Exception. Checking for null before the constructor call and popping up a message box if the query was null as a means of debugging yielded nothing. I
create these helpers all over. Only two are causing an issue and only when deployed. In addition, running the query in the Management Portal also completes fine.
Try
'Check for nulls
If (Me.qQuoteByFirm Is Nothing) Then
Me.ShowMessageBox("qQuoteByFirm", "Error", MessageBoxOption.Ok)
End If
If (Me.qQuoteByFirm.Screen Is Nothing) Then
Me.ShowMessageBox("Screen", "Error", MessageBoxOption.Ok)
End If
If (New ModalWindowHelper(Me.qQuoteByFirm, "mwAddQuote", "Quote") Is Nothing) Then
Me.ShowMessageBox("Modal", "Error", MessageBoxOption.Ok)
End If
'Create helper
Me.HelperAddQuote = New ModalWindowHelper(Me.qQuoteByFirm, "mwAddQuote", "Quote")
Catch ex As Exception
Dim err As String = ""
For Each item In ex.Data
err = err & item.ToString()
Next
err = err & ex.InnerException.ToString() & vbCrLf & _
ex.Message.ToString() & vbCrLf & _
ex.StackTrace
Me.ShowMessageBox(err, "Error", MessageBoxOption.Ok)
End Try
'Constructor
Public Sub New(ByVal visualCollection As IVisualCollection, _
ByVal dialogName As String, _
Optional entityName As String = "")
_collection = visualCollection
_dialogName = dialogName
_entityName = If(entityName <> "", entityName, _collection.Details.GetModel.ElementType.Name)
_screen = _collection.Screen
End Sub
The actual construction of the queries does not seem to matter. I've tried several variations along with requesting the entire table. Same result. However, this only occurs on two specific tables. Grid controls displaying other tables on other screens work
properly.
Here's the weird part. If I comment out the call to the constructor, I can gain access to the gird control and add data to it even through the red box remains. If I refresh the grid control, the data disappears as if it wasn't saved or isn't there. But inspecting
the table in SQL Azure Management Portal shows that the data was properly populated in the table.
The app and the database are clearly connected and able to communicate fine. So why when reading from these two tables (but not writing to) are my grid controls throwing exceptions? Why does this only happen when deployed? What other techniques can I use to
get more information?I am not very familiar with Lightswtich. But 500 is a server side error. Do you manually code the server side, or does Lightswitch automatically generates the server side code? If you manually coded, then please try to catch exceptions in
your server side code. If the code is automatically generated, you may want to consult a Lightswitch forum on how to troubleshooting such issues. What's more, when you refresh the grid, what code are invoked? Try to check that piece of code and see if there're
any problems, such as you reload the grid with empty data. -
TIME_OUT in ST22 while loading data
Hello all!
While I load data from ODS-object to an InfoCube, after around 18 minutes I have the first TIME_OUT in ST22. Some seconds later I have the next and then again after 18 minutes and so on. All the time while loading. The loading doesn´t stop.
I found the following statement in ST22:
The program "GP2GCXJX3UPKBEN0B528IGJFPA3 " has exceeded the maximum permitted runtime and has therefore been terminated.
But loading is still running.
This programm is the programm which is generated from the update rules which can be found in the update rules under ->Extras ->Display Activated Programm in the menu there.
I found also the information in ST22 that "rdisp/max_wprun_time" is 1000 seconds (16.66 minutes) which is the max. runtime. I think there is a second chance so the max. runtime should be 2000 seconds.
But I think "rdisp/max_wprun_time" is a parameter for dialog processes and loading over InfoPackage isn´t one as far as I know.
I load as a backround process. I´m loading from ODS and reading in update rules from 2 other ODS-objects. I read around 2 million records. Another IC which is very similar but doesn´t read from the 2nd ODS needs around 1 and a half hour to load.
Can someone please help me?
Thank you,
PeterPeter,
Update rules are processed in foreground and the time out setting applies to all dialog processes. The processing is done one data packet at a time.
If the load is from ODS to InfoCube and is timing out then there is no option but to tune the update rules. Bring down the records that are being read. If your select statement is reading based on the contents of the data packet, then bring down the size of the data packet. THis can be done in the InfoPack in Scheduler --> DataS. Default Data Transfer. In the Max size field try 10000 or even 5000. Number of data pakckets will increase but processing time per packet should be lower.
Another option is to find the ODS PSA request in the PSA Tree. ODS PSA Request number is the request number right before the REQU number in the ODS requests tab. They begin with ODSR.... Find this in the PSA and update to data target from there. This processing is then done in the background and the time out setting does not apply.
If you do not see the request then turn on display generated object from the menu of the admin workbench Settings --> Display Generated Objects
Cheers

Process Chain taking long time in loading data in infocube
Dear Expert,
We are loading data thru PC in AR cube it takes data frm
PSA-> DSO->Activation->Index Deletion->DTP(load infocube)->IndexCreation->Create Aggregates.
In Index creation everyday its taking long time around 9 to 10 hrs to create it
when we go in RSRV and repair the infocube thr loading of data happens fast. We are doing it(RSRV) everyday. In DB02 we have seen dat 96% tablespace is used.
Please tell permanent solution.
Please suggest its BI Issue or Basis.
Regards,
AnkitHi ,
We are loading data thru PC in AR cube it takes data frm
PSA-> DSO->Activation->Index Deletion->DTP(load infocube)->IndexCreation->Create Aggregates.
In the above steps insted of Create Aggregates it should be Roll up Process of aggregates.
You can ask the basis team to check the Table space in the transaction db02old/db02.
Check if there is long running job in SM66/SM50 kill that job.
check there should be enough Batch process to perform the steps.
Hope this helps.
