BPS Documents not storing/saving in Production

We are using the Document functionality in BPS layouts to create and store a Microsoft Word document associated with a particular cell.  We have set all the necessary characteristics' document attribute properties, and these have been generated in each of our systems, Development, QA, and Production.
This functionality is working perfectly in our Development and QA environments.  However, in Production, the user creates a document, he/she can see the document icon in the Excel-in-Place layout, and saves.  When the user comes back into the layout, the icon is missing.  The document cannot be seen in the Administrator's Workbench->Documents central administration.  In QA and in Development, the documents successfully save, and can be viewed in the Admin. Workbench->Documents.
As far as I can tell, all configuration is the same in all three environments.  I've checked the bds service in SICF and it's active across the board.  I've checked all that I can in the Document Modelling Workbench, and everything is identical.  I even see the table these are stored in (BDSPHIO10), but it's empty in Production, filled with values in QA and Dev.
What am I missing?  Why is this not working in Production?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Thank you for your suggestion, Marc.  I placed the breakpoint as described and then tried to execute the planning folder as before and store a document.  When I clicked 'Save', I reached the breakpoint and began stepping through the code.  When it called the function module 'SKWF_LOIO_WITH_PHIO_CREATE', the LS_ERROR came back with:
ID =   SKWF_SDOKKERRS
Type = E
No =   030
V1 =   BW_LO_TRAN
I checked the description of the error message in T100, and it looks like the error is:
"Characteristic of class 'BW_LO_TRAN' is not valid."
When it calls function module 'SKWF_PHIO_STORE_CONTENT' next, the error is E001 in the same class:  "'&1' does not exist."  I'm assuming this is due to the failure of the previous function module call.
Any idea how I can make the "characteristic of class 'BW_LO_TRAN'" valid?
Thanks again, this gives me more information about the potential problem.

    Hi Vasu
    Check whether number range assignment has done.  Most probably, you would not have done that.
    Incidentally, I had also faced similar problem sometime back and after lot of study, I could come to a conclusion that it is because of non assignment of number range.
    Thanks and dont forget to reward if this helps you.

  • Restoring a document not properly saved?

    I exited Word without apparently properly saving a document.  I have a Time Capsule, but the document does not seem to be there either.  Any techniques for finding a document recently worked on?

    Word actually claims it will "AutoSave". So even if the user has not saved, Open Recent should list the file if it had been worked for longer than the setting in Save options.

  • Documents not sending saved changes

    I need help!  When opening a PDF document in Adobe Reader, I can make changes, save the data and email it to myself. When I open the document in my email, it does not save my changes. Please help,

    Tell us more details: operating system, email client, Reader version.
    How exactly are you proceeding?
    open a PDF from your local disk?  With Adobe Reader?
    make changes (what changes?), save it back to local disk?
    send the changed document via email?
    when you receive it, the changes are gone?

  • Storing PDF documents not using online services

    I want to create PDF documents but do not want them stored online or use online services since I bought the PDF package.
    Im wanting to know is there a setting to turn off so that my documents are not stored/saved online.

    What PDF package?  Well, all online services do store data online until you delete them.
    If you do not want to do anything online, use Acrobat.

    Hi PP Gurus,
    We encountered a short dump when display production order.
    I have checked the system status of this production order from database, and there is NO record in table JSTO, JEST, etc.
    Why the status has not been saved in production order? How do we deal with the existing production order without system status?
    Appreciate any input here.

  • The document could not be saved error when Saving to a SharePoint Document Library

    I am having an error when opening and commenting on Adobe PDF's that are stored in SharePoint 2010. When I attempt to save a PDF I have commented on I get the following error:
    The Document could not be saved. The server said:
    "The operation failed because an unexpected error occurred. (Result code: 0x80020005)"
    This seems to happen in a Document Library that is based on a custom template with Managed Metadata columns, when we remove the columns it seems to work and when we create a library with a standard document library template and manually add the manage metadata columns it also works fine.
    We would make this change to all document libraries where this issue occurs however this template is applied to 100's of libraries with thousands of documents stored in them. Is there anything we can look at to attempt to resolve this issue?
    Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. documents seem to work fine in these libraries.

    Hi quodd,,
    We are sorry for the issue being faced by you. I need some information from you so that I take further steps:
    1. Which Adobe product are you using Acrobat or Adobe reader- what is the complete version?
    2. How are you opening and saving the PDF, the exact workflow?
         Are you doing it from within Adobe Reader/Acrobat application or opening it from browser, doing changes and saving it using browser itself.
    3. Can you try to save a PDF to library with Custom template and managed metadata columns using browser directly.
    4. Please verify that columns name do not contain spaces or some other special characters.
       Can you try to save PDF to library with Custom template and just a single managed metadata column  with a simple name
    Thanks,

    A "quick" fix that worked for me was to uninstall Adobe... then download the base install for Adobe Reader 11.0.
    Then download each of the individual updates and run them sequentially.
    I've installed back up to the last security update which is version 08 and have been able to do normal Save As operations.
    You will have to disable automatic updates in order to stay at version 08 until Adobe resolves this issue in a later release.

  • Error message "The document could not be saved. This file is already open" when trying to complete an electronic signature.

    Running Adobe Acrobat Professional 10.1.0. I cannot upgrade to newer version because several applications were already tested on this version.
    When trying to complete an electronic signature, my users receive the error message ""The document could not be saved. This file is already open".  When they close and open the file again to try to sign again they find a corrupted electronic signature.  Instead of a clean signature with the box colored in light blue they see their signature with the embedeed message Click Here to Verify & Sign with the box colored in grey.
    We turned off antivirus in the Sharefolder where the forms are stored and nothing.  We turned off the antivirus on the client and nothing.  We stored the files in another server and nothing.  One workaround is saving the file in the desktop, signing it, and then back to the Sharefolder.  Another is saving the file with a different file name.
    I've searched and the only similar thing was caused by the Windows Preview Pane.  See Information Transmogrification: Adobe Acrobat saving a file does not work, displays “File may be read-only”.  No luck with this one too.
    Is definitively an intermittent problem.  The users that experience the problem experience it intermittently.
    This started to happen when we move our computers to Windows 7.
    Any ideas?

    Correction on Question:
    This is a web application and the users need to be able to load the editable .pdf form from the website, edit it and submit it back to the website from within Internet Explorer.
    Users began getting the error message:
    'The document could not be saved. This file is already open.'
    last Friday after having no problems prior to this. Some users can edit the editable .pdf forms on the website and save the file with the same name to the website. Some get the error mentioned in the subject.
    We really need help getting this resolved.

  • The document could not be saved.  Write error.

    I have a portfolio with a OneNote section embedded in the portfolio.  When I attempt to save the document, I get an error message stating, "The document could not be saved.  Write error."  The document is stored on a network drive.  Other users are able to make edits and save.  I am using Acrobat x, Windows 7, and SharePoint 2010.  I am unable to find any solutions on the web.

  • The document "file_name" could not be saved as...

    Selected <Save> on a Keynote 5.0.5 document (~40 slides, 5MB) and got "The document "myfilename" could not be saved as "mynewfilename". The only thing I've done since my last save was an export of all the images as PNGs, and I added a shape created inside Keynote.
    I've already experienced problems with Keynote not opening saved documents, which (hopefully) I've corrected with setting Preferences to "Save as Package".   Now I'm suddenly getting the message above.
    I love this product but I can't believe how unreliable it is. Does Apple actually believe people whose livelihoods depend on this software can risk losing hours or days or even weeks or work when it just surrepitiously decides not to save or open documents?
    I was able to copy all the Master slides and slides into a new document which seemed to save OK, but of course now I'm terrified that at any moment I could lose two weeks of work if it pulls one of these corruption quirks.  Please don't force me back to Powerpoint.
    What's the problem and is anybody working on it?  And should I be concerned that neither Keynote nor iWorks even appears in the Product List below?  Huh? Hello!?  Apple?
    jl

    I realize it would be convenient if it worked, but I think you're asking for trouble, if what you're trying to do is actively read and write the project on that remote Windows drive.
    In the Finder, control-click on the project folder and zip it. Copy the zip archive to the remote drive. At the next Mac you visit, copy the zip archive to that Mac, and open it and use it. And return it when you're done, if you expect to continue your work at a different Mac next time.
    Or spend about $40 and get an 80GB portable USB drive, and keep it in your pocket.

  • CRM_ORDER_SAVE document not saved

    Hi All,
    I have created a custom report and have used CRM_ORDER_SAVE in my report program. But the problem is that when I execute this program in our production environment, I do not get the required results and the exception is raised as "document not saved". This works fine in the development environment and quality system. But fails in production and not commiting.
    Please suggest what can be the root cause of this problem and how shall i correct it.
    Here is the code ::
        CALL FUNCTION 'CRM_ORDER_SAVE'
          EXPORTING
            it_objects_to_save = guids
          EXCEPTIONS
            document_not_saved = 1
            OTHERS             = 2.
        IF sy-subrc <> 0.
        ELSE.
          COMMIT WORK AND WAIT.
    ENDIF.

    Hi,
    After calling the CRM_ORDER_SAVE, you need to call the following function module in the proper order to make the save successful and to initialize the order.
    1. BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT
    2. CRM_ORDER_INITIALIZE
    If you need to look in the code base, then put a debug point in the function module CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN and have a look at all the import parameters and order of the function modules.
    Hope this will help.
    Thanks,
    Samantak.

  • The document "x.pages" could not be saved. No such file or directory

    I have a client machine that connects to an xserve/xraid that gets the error "The document 'thefilename.pages' could not be saved. No such file or directory" while attempting to save a file.
    The file in question does exist on the server as does the directory. In fact the file was opened from the server for editing. It's the saving back to the server that is causing an issue.
    The file can be saved to the desktop then copied back to the server, overwriting the old file but cannot be saved directly.
    Adding to the odd behavior is that the issue is not consistent. However it appears to happen most often later in the work day.
    I found a thread with a similar question but no answer and the thread was locked and could not be added to.
    Any ideas for a fix?

    I experience the same issue with iWorks Numbers when saving a locally worked-on file back to the network server. It only started happening after upgrading my local iMac to Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.1)- the server is running on Leopard (10.5.?). I suspect the problem lies in this upgrade incompatibility. Apple are taking their time fixing it-still occurs with OS 10.6.4. Or are the saying I should upgrade the OS on the server as well?
    (1) To check if there is an incompatibility, check if the file saved locally is in good health before moving it on the server.
    (2) Here we are end-users like you so we can't respond to questions asked to Apple.
    (3) I'm a bit surprised that you get corrupted files using a product which doesn't exist. There is no iWorks product. Apple never distribute such a product !
