BPS- PS Retraction Problems

Hi,
Am using standard FMs UPR_COST_PLAN_INIT and UPR_COST_PLAN_EXEC to retract Primary Cost plan data back to Project Systems.
I have set up a sender structure called UPB_SND_COPS, pointing to receiver structure UPB_RET_COPS. I have two lines in the dictionary structure section: /1SEM/_YS_KYFS_005ZARMPP03 and /1SEM/_YS_CHAS_005ZARMPP03 which relate to my planning area.
QUESTION 1 - do I need to put anything in the offset, field length, field value fields?
I have set up the transfer rules in transaction UPB_RULE. This is where I have the problem. I set up the transfers and ran the retraction and nothing was posted to R/3. When debugging I saw that all of the fields I had set up rules for were blank when sent to R/3.
If I go back and, instead of transfering from the sender to receiver structure, I hard code a value for all the fields in UPB_RULE, then it creates records in R/3.
Has anyone encountered this problem?
Does anyone have any decent documentation on this retractor?

I have an retraction problem. I'm trying to retract from SEM-BPS to r/3 and it works, but the problem is the zero values. If, in my layout, I delete an entire row (0costelmnt; 0cs_partner; 0coorder; KF values) the retraction doesn't works.

Hi Victor,
Here is a workaround:
Create a planning sequence or global sequence with the following steps:
1. Create a FOX formula to post "1" (ZRETRACT = 1 in FOX) to a new key figure. This key figure is not retracted.
2. Copy data to another version
3. Retract
You may even be able to do this without step 2 (we have to do it here to create an official consolidated plan version).

Retraction problem, key figure mapping

Hello guys:
I am using the retraction function to retract activity data from BPS to R/3.
I have created the sender structure and now I am creating the mapping rules.
For the characteristics, there is no problem, but for the key figures, if I input a field name in the Sender FLd column, then I must enter a value in the "Sender fld val" column,could you tell me what is the use of this column?
I also click the "create proposal for value", it fill the key figure field name in the formula column, but when I run a check, the proposed rules is wrong.

BPS - PS Retraction with Network and Activity

Hi,
In BPS I have a retraction function for PS at WBS Element level, and it's runs ok. Now, we will enhacement the planning level with network and activity. Is posible to retract the data to R/3 at this detail level (network and activity)?

BPS adhoch query problem.

Hello gurus,
My issue is with Adhoc query,We have two queries designed to retrieve data from the SEM/BPS PCP cube (ZZSEM_C35):
Ad hoc - SEM PCP Cube Details
Ad hoc - SEM PCP from MultiCube Details
The first retrieves data directly from the cube; the second retrieves it from the MultiCube, specifying the cube as its InfoProvider.
The first reports "No Applicable Data Found." regardless of the variable values provided by the user.
The second retrieves data with no problem.
But I checked into cube ZZSEM_C35,here request is showing still Yello,it is bps cube,as of my knowledge if request is yellow we cannot do reporting on that right,for this BPS how we are doing .Please any one give me solution.

Check in the report if the Request ID is restricted by Most Current Data(transactional infocube) variable. If not, yellow request data will not appear in the report.

BPS Content Installation Problem... ???

Hi All,
We are trying to transport BPS Standard Planning Content from Client 000 to working client 001.
Process followed: login to BW Client 000 with user-DDIC -> BPS0 -> Tools -> Transport.
Now, we are not able to create a Request/Task.
what should be the Project name and how to create it ???
What should be the Traget System 001, 000 or VIR (VIR is some virtual created by BASIS in transport system)
Please help me as "transaction UPB_APPL_IMPORT don't exist" (this is wht our system says) as suggested in some earlier threads.

BPS layout design problem

Hi guys.
Actually the question is quite trivial, so I bag my pardon 'cause I'm new to BPS, but I found no solution in forums.
I need a planning layout of the next format:
                          0MONTH
0CUSTOMER      ZSALES
e.g.
                 january february ...
customer1 1000       2000
customer2   100         400
I only can get my planning format of this view:
0MONTH 0CUSTOMER   ZSALES

A particular record defined in the data column would identify with one single record in the layout.
But if you have a variable on 0MONTH which could be say, defined as fixed type, and store all 12 months of the year.
Step1: In the 1st screen of Layout builder, inside Additional Settings set the Month characteristic as Dynamic in the Data Columns tab.
Step2: In the 2nd screen, you will find a check box for Dynamic and a place to assign the variable you created for 0MONTH.
Step3: Save the Layout. (in the 3rd screen, you would find just 1 column).
On executing the Layout the column would extrapolate to show all 12 months defined for in the 0MONTH variable you created.

Retraction of WBS plan from BPS to PS.

I am attempting to use the UPR_COST_PLAN_EXEC Function Module to retract data to R3. My aim is to be able to extract the data in a fiscal period to WBS Element - Cost Element combinations in PS.
I have followed the guidance of the well written 'BPS Retraction for Cost Cener Accounting' web log and have also reviewed the topic entitled 'BPS->PS Retraction Problems' on the community.
I am still struggling to find clarity on how to implement this functinality succesfully.
I have followed step by step the guidance mentioned above. However for the Sender Structure 0ACTTYPE,
0ACT_UNIT, 0COSTCENTER are not assigned to an InfoObject(because I want to retract to PS). 0WBS_ELEMT is assigned.
I have created a BPS Planning Area and Planning Level. The planning Level and Package include
Controlling area
Cost Element
Currency
Fiscal year
Fiscal year/period
Fiscal Year Variant
Unit of measure
Value type (Restricted to 20)
Version (Restricted to 0)
WBS Assignment (IM)
The Planning Function is set up as suggested. Controlling Area and Cost element (All other available fields are assigned to be changed) are not included in the fields to be changed because the system complained about it (Is there any guidance on how these fields should be assigned).
The Parameter Group is set up as suggested. Other than
Retr. R/3 Comp. (set as 9)
BTW is there any guidance of the following settings (all currently set up as suggested)?
Controlling Area
Cost Element
In the InfoCube I have records with all the data elements in the planning element filled and the WBS elements, cost elements match records in R3 with actual postings against.
If I use my very limited debugging skills. If I look at the values in xth_data[x], the values are as I would expect cost element, fiscal period and wbs element are available correctly in the structure.
When function UPBR_DATA_PACKAGE_MAP is called the values are available correctly in ith_data[x]. The function completes without error. However if I look in report S_ALR_87013531 the values are not updated.
This is very frustrating. If any one has any really sound guides or a good approach for debugging or checking of pre-requisites or advice in general I would be over the moon.

BPS retraction of Quantity in CO OM not retracting at all !

Hi everybody, I post after many and many trials.
I am retracting Primary Costs ( we have planned on CostElements for CO-OM Internal Orders) and I followed the blogs etc. Everything is fine for the Amount and it retracts ok by Posting Period but the quantities are not retracting at all.
I also fixed the Unit as H as suggested because the quantity is in Hours and the R3 system expect that I retract hours for the CostElement related to Cost of Personnell.
I don't move out from this position since long and I should deliver the project in 10 days .
Any help is really really welcome.

first of all my personal compliments because very often I follow your posts .
Your answer let me "smell" the right way . Before to post I already debugged the retraction but at first look, if you don't feel that also somebody else found mistakes you can debug for hours and all looks fine. So this time I debugged with more attention and I found something strange in the Unit of Measures. In R3 the Cost Element expect H as Hours but in the RFC was going the quantity without the Unit of Measure. As I remember also in the blog about retraction the author said to take care about UOM. So I checked better Retraction about UOM and I found a OSS note . Anyway if this thread can be of help, I put here the list of OSS notes to be checked.
The system where I work is always updated but I remember that sometimes especially in some cases where you miss some PIns or for many other reasons, (not good upgrades for example) the system in some part can remain not updated even if there are the proper HP.

RSCRM_BAPI giving Error in the OLAP-Check - Data Retraction

Hello,
we have an integrated planing using a cube in BW. From this cube data has been retracted to R/3 using a retraction query.
Problem: We needed to compress the cube due to to many partitions on the database. From that moment on the retraction failed yielding an empty query result. After investigating we found that this error appears on the Olap-Check in the RSCRM_BAPI transaction:
Original in German: InfoCube enthält Daten in seiner E-Tabelle.
Translated to english: The InfoCube has data in its E-Table.
For now we made a backup of the original cube, cleared the cube and loaded the data back into the cube. So we kind of compressed all requests into one due to the full load. But this is only a workaround.
Can someone give any hints or ideas how we can solve the retraction problem with a compressed cube without clearing it?

Follow these steps and hopefully it should resolve your query
1. If there is no table to link then Create a dummy table and link it in physical layer
2. Move it to BMM layer
3. In case the spreadsheet table also links to a table from another data-source then create the links from BMM layer only.
4. Move it to presentation layer and job done..

Problem with cl_crm_documents= create_with_url

Hi experts!!
I am using cl_crm_documents=>create_with_url to create attachments via URL, in BPs. The problem is that the attachments are uploaded as application/octet-stream, hence i cannot open . When i manually attach URLs to BP they are displayed fine.
Any ideas?????

BPS0 - very long runtime

Hi gurus,
During the manual planning in BPS0 long runtime occurs.
FOX formulas are used.
There is lot of data selected, but it is business needs.
Memory is OK as I can see in st02 - 10-15% of resources are usually used, no dumps, but very long runtime.
I examine hardware, system, db with different methods, nothing unusual.
Could you please give me more advices, how I can do extra check of the system? (from basis point of view preferably)

Hello Elena,
you need to take a structured approach. "Examining" things is fine but usually does not lead to results quickly.
Performance tuning works best as follows:
1) Check statistics or run a trace
2) Find the slowest part
3) Make this part run faster (better, eliminate it)
4) Back to #1 until it is fast enough
For the first round, use the BPS statistics. They will tell you if BW data selection or BPS functions are the slowest part.
If BW is the problem, use aggregates and do all the things to speed up BW (see course BW360).

Next, would be SQL trace and ABAP performance trace (ST05, SE30). Check the traces for any custom coding or custom tables at the top of the runtime measurements.
Finally, you can often see from the program names in the ABAP runtime trace, which components in BPS are the slowest. See if you can match this to the configuration that's used in BPS (variables, characteristic relationships, data slices, etc).

I want to know "how can I input data in BW"
I will planning in BW/BPS (Business Planning and Simulation).
I have the NetWeaver system with BW (realies 3.5) in which is included BPS.
The problem is I have no data in the system and I think that the company SAP have example dataes for free which can download and input in system and use for practise.
If this correct, can anybody say me where I can find it?

goto Businesscontent > object types->infocube>select objects-> Search for any '0D*'..AND ACTIVATE THEM..
sap has provided DEMO content for this purpose..those will be start with '0D****'..

BPS : Problem in retracting 0QUANTITY in cost center planning.

Hi folks,
I tried the standard retractor for retracting the Cost Center plan data from BI to ECC. I followed the blogs "BPS Retraction for Cost Center Accounting - I&II (Primary Cost & Qty)" by Praveen Mayalur and made the settings accordingly.
I am having problems in retracting the 'quantity' to ECC and hence I tried the following scenarios and got different results.
Scenario 1:
In the level, if I select Keyfigures "Amount" and "Quantity" --
When I execute the function, the system does not pick up any data. The message given by the system is "0 data records were read, 0 of them changed, 0 generated"
Scenario 2:
In the level, if I select only Keyfigure "Amount" --
When I execute the function, the system does the retraction without error and with the message - "Retraction: Update completed without errors. No. of records: 4. 4 data records were read, 0 of them changed, 0 generated".
I am able to see the amounts in ECC also.
Scenario 3:
In the level, if I select only Keyfigure "Quantity" --
When I execute the function, the system gives the message -"Retraction: Update completed without errors. No. of records: 3. 3 data records were read, 0 of them changed, 0 generated".
But I am not able to see the quantities in ECC.
If anybody has worked on quantity retraction, kindly guide me through the settings.

Did you check the below point when you define sender structure?
Make sure to pass the Unit of Measure when passing the Quantity else retractor wont update the Quantity in R/3. (Either you can map the field or maintain constant in the sender structure)
