Hi,
I have dealt with transports but would always come across problems.which is the best way to transport planning applications?
I wud also like to know the best way to transport web based planning constructed using web interface builder.urgent pls.your inputs would be appreciated.

Hi,
There are two components the web interface and planning objects. These can be transported independent of each other. The web interface is transported as a workbench object and planning objects are transported as customizing tasks. There is not limitation on how many planning objects can be transported with one transport.
Can you please let us know the error that you are facing.

SEM-BPS: Transporting allocations

Hi,
I have used UPC_TRANSPORT_BPS_ALL to transport a planning function (Allocation) that contains several parameter groups. When going to target system I see the transported parameter groups but cannot process these. I get error message about missing consolidation methods. When I take a look at table e.g. ucf001c I see these parameter groups in source system but not in target system. This table is one of the consolidation methods. Does someone know is there any specific trick to transport planning functions for allocations?

Hello,
I use for transport BPS0 instead or the report you have used.
I have developed Allocations (e. g. yesterday) and have transported it also. I had no problems, can execute it and I also had never these kind of error message.
One thing: Allocation is a BCS-Function and consolidation groups are BCS groups. I guess there must be something wrong in your system, because BPS allocation wants to check BCS customising, which does not make any sense here.

BPS Transport issue

Hi All;
I am trying to import one layout with new planning level, I created this transport by UPC_TRANSPORT_BPS_ALL program via SE38 but after the transport is released (done by Basis team) I checked on QA and don't see that planning level under BPS0.
On that program I put the checked mark on third check box with the following details:
Planning Layout
      Planning Area
     Planning Lvl
     Plng Layout
Am I missing any thing here ? after putting those info above on the top 'customizing task' I created a new transport request and clicked on 'execute'. I went to SE09 and checked those objects were included in the transport request.
Could someone pls help me here...this is production support..

Hi Hans,
according to me the problem is that this option (3rd check box) is to transport the layouts and not ALSO the NEW Planning Level. The Change request you generated shoudn't involve table UPC_PLEVEL that bring the Level definition, because this option is to be used to transport ONLY the Planning Layout within an existing Level.
Therefore try to trasport the involved Planning Level with the first option (1st check box)

BW-BPS: Transport to QA system have some input columns inaccessible

Hi all,
We have a strange problem. We did some unit testing in BW Dev system and transported to BW QA last week. The transport went through all green but we discovered that some layouts the input columns works correctly but the most important layouts, the columns are locked similar to if comparable column was specified.
I checked the authorization and I have sap_all sap_new in QA. We found a few issues such as our QA system was not patched patched to the same BI Content SP but that was corrected and the system bounced to clear the buffer. I made sure all the variables are set and for those we still have problems with single value variable I made sure they have at least two values. I checked OSS notes and others but have not found nay information that help. I was wondering if one of you have encountered this issues and the cause for it. One possibility I am considering is some document or system settings..
We are in BW 3.5 SP 13.

Hi Marc,
1. I checked the layout configuration and the config was transported okay to QA so the field that I want to input does not have compariable checked and it should be open for input.
2. there are no data slices yet.
3. Validation check - that might be an issue. The BW loads originally had some master data not loaded in BWQ and have some mapping not occuring as it should and I have been asking for them for the last 2 load cycles. I was told all missing master data have been since loaded and I need to ask for a load of the transaction again but the BW person is waiting for some missing mapping. Also we had to document enabled some infoobjects.
But the category we are using for the integration testing should have all the master data correctly set up since I checked on it end of last week. Do I have to set up some system settings for the document server? Do I need to force it to regenerate after some transports?
The master data we used for the 2 systems are different since the DEV has very little master data and some were manually maintained or uploaded via flat files. The BW QA has a lot of master data since R/3 QA has been refreshed recently.

Transportation of plng areas in bps

i have two plng areas and upon this one mult plng area(MPA). Upon MPA plng folder built. i have to transport this model to production.
i have transported two transactional cubes to production. now i have to move plng areas & then MPA. first i have to move 2 plng areas and then mulitprovder. And after i have to transport plng folder? is sequence correct. can i store 2 plng areas in same customizing req. Or can i put all plng areas(2 plng area + one MPA) in single customizing req? For plng folder it's single req.

BPS - Regenerate a BSP after transport

Hi all,
We are currently experiencing the problem that after transport from D to Q, our BSP's are not being regenerated automatically.
So, although the correct configuration (in the WIB) is to be found in Q after transport, the ABAP workbench view of the same BSP is still reflecting the pre-transport configuration.
Any ideas please....?

Whenever I generate the BSP in the WIB(web interface builder) it prompts for a transport.
When you say the BPS transport manager, do you mean the transport manager found in tx code BPS0....? I don't see the possibility to transport web interfaces from this transport manager...?

Business Content in BW-BPS

Short question.
Does Business Content (like planning areas and so on) exist for BW-BPS in BW 3.5 or is SEM installation required? And in that case how to review/activate it?

Hi Christian,
You do not need the SEM installation to have the business content. The business content will be available if you are on BW 3.5.
Installing business content on BPS is done by transporting it from client 000 to your working client.
You will have to log on to client 000, generate your transport requests using the BPS transport transactions; release the transport on client 000; import with SCC1 in the working client; then switch the planning areas from remote areas to local planning areas.
You will also have to install the cubes on which the planning areas are based using the normal BI business content installation transactions.

IMG activities missing

Our FSCD development environment is missing IMG activities and we are
not sure why.
Example 1: Under SAP IMG > Financial Accounting (New) > Contract
Accounts Receivable and Payable > Organization Units, the u201CAssign
Company Codes to Company Code Groupsu201D and "Define company code groups"
activities are missing.
Example 2: Under SAP IMG > SAP Insurance > Collections/Disbursements >
Integration > "Financial Supply Chain Management" and "Business
Intelligence" are missing.
We have recently activated the Accenture BPS for C&D in our ECC 6.0
FSCD development environment, following the guide provided by
Accenture. We are unsure if the IMG activities were supposed to appear
as a part of that activation, or if they were already supposed to be in
the system. Our sandbox, which has all of the same components and
release levels and has also undergone this activation, is not missing
these IMG activities.
I have done some troubleshooting and have verified the following:
- dev has all of the components found in sandbox, with the same release
levels (two exceptions: sandbox system had a higher release version for
PI_BASIS, dev has a higher release of ST-PI. We upgraded PI-BASIS after
the activation but it did not make the IMG activities appear)
- dev and sandbox have all of the business functions activated
- dev has all of the same bc sets activated, with identical log results
to the sandbox
- in scpr3, the bc sets are displayed when I click the button to load
incomplete bc sets. In sandbox, there are no incomplete bc sets.
- when using the IMG view in SCPR3, the bc sets in dev only highlight
activities that exist in the dev IMG. when viewing the same bc set in
sandbox, you can see many more IMG activities are touched (the ones
that are missing in dev).
- both systems have all the BPS transports, except that in dev the
namespace and workbenchrequest have been imported into 200 instead of
100 (we did our activation in 100). These seem like client-independent
changes and so not the cause of the problem
- the import of the BCSETs transport into dev 100 has RC=16, although
in detailed view all of the activities seem to have been successfully
completed.

Check with SAP if any note requires to be applied. Also check with Basis team and ensure that all relevant components are active.

Objects transported when we transport a Planning level in BW-BPS

Can anybody tell me what are the objects that will get transported when we transport a Planning Level under a Planning Area in bw-bps.

Transports(bps objs)

Hi mates,
Base cube(bw) is linked to Plnning cube(sem) via DTP & transformation and everyday data is to be updated in plnning cube. I have to design one process chain for this requirement which should be triggered at particular time. Base cube is already transported to quality system and then to production system. Is sequence of steps to be followed correct?
1. In RSPC, ceate process chain,store it in one request and then transpor it in RSPC itself.
2. In RSA1, transporation connection,
a) choose grouping mode: before flow (in that select transformation & dtp, except base cube(because already transported))
b) collection mode: automatic
c) select required sem cube, and create workbench request and then transport
3. In bps0, using tools->transport for bps objects
4. In upspm, for planning folder transport.
Is there any mandatory considerations here.
Appreciate help with points.

In ur 3rd step regarding usage (UPC_TRANSPORT_BPS_ALL)
i 've not transported any plnning area till now. So first i will choose full transport, new transport including all planning levels. After upon execution, system prompts with request & that is tranported. Next 4th step, tranport plng folder and 5th step transport process chain.
My questions:
1. When we use change transport of individual planning levels? When using this option, do we need to mention earlier request number(3rd step) in customizing task field? Or system prompts new request?
2. When we use selective transport, is system gives any new request?
3. Coming to 5th step, process chain(PC) transport. I think surely we have transport PC in transport connection(rsa1) because few components(cubes) of PC has been released, yet we have to release programs(process types) for switching plng cube(load mode to plan mode & vice versa). which grouping mode is preferable(before flow i think). Pls correct me if i'm wrong.

BPS WIB - how to transport with correct URL in hyperlink

Hi all,
If I have a hyperlink in my BSP web interface (WIB for BPS)which references my BWD server, how do I make sure that when I transport to BWQ or BWP that the correct server address part of the URL is written in for the relevant system?

Thanks for the response. But I think you are talking about a WEB APPLICATION (BW REPORTING) type of URL, whereas my problem exists where I am using the WEB INTERFACE BUILDER in SEM in order to build planning web interfaces.........
I have a jump to the following URL within my planning interface:
http://hpks01v1.germany.glaxo:8010/sap/bc/bsp/sap/zbdew003/admin.htm
You can see the server is 8010 - our BWD server. But when this is transported to BWQ, it still looks the same and then the link jumps back to the BWD server (8010) and not the BWQ server which is (8080)....?
Or maybe I do not understand how to use what you have recommended properly?

BPS - How to Load Flat File ... - Transport RC 8

Hi Guys,
We tried to implement the How to solution named "How to Load a Flat File into BW-BPS Using SAPGUI" and in development in works fine.
When we tried to transport in Quality we had a RC 8 (falure) because of the coding of the global data of the function group.
In fact in the global data we have to declare some Types referred to a Table Type that has the following name: /1sem/_yth_data_<sy-mandt><Planning_Area>. Since mandt is different the Table Type cannot be found ... and in STMS we get the message "The type '/1SEM/_YTH_DATA_170ZCSPAB11'" is unknown.
Did somebody of you experienced suche a problem and found a solution?

about client numbers ... I will repeat your suggestion to system administrators. I noticed the habitude to give <i><b>ALWAYS</b></i> different client numbers in all the installation I worked on! I know it's a non-sense but generally we start to work after the system has been installed ...
The solution to use Custom DDIC types according to e has the advantage of an easier implementation but the disadvantage usage, especially in dynamic projects!
At least I came (with some help form ABAP Forum Guys) to an ABAP "coding" solution that I would like to share in a weblog (already asked for to SDN).

Extremely Urgent (BPS - STS Transport to Quality)

Hello Everyone,
I am trying to transport *Status and Tracking System* (Transport Request includes Sub Plan and Planning Session).
The objects get attached to the Transport Request (TR) in the Development System. We release the request to Quality System.
However, the STS objects do not show up in BPS_TC in Quality System. We checked the log in STMS in Quality, it shows that the objects have been transported to Quality.
Please could some one among you give a possible reason or solution to it as we have been given limited time for its completion

Transport of BPS planning area (variables) without transp. all pl. levels

Hi!
Can anybody advice me, how to transport new variables which I have created to a planning area, without transporting all planning levels which belong to it?
I transported a few planning levels that include the new variables I created to the planning area. As a result, the planning levels are transported but the new variables are missing. I don´t want to transport the whole planning area, since it contains a development which is not ready yet. Can I transport the missing variables with SE15 (how?) or is there some other way to do it?

Please execute program UPC_TRANSPORT_BPS_ALL and transport your variables without transporting any level or area.
