Calling stored procedures from entity object and application module

Hello
I've put in place an EntiyImpl base class containg helper methods to call stored procedures.
I now need to call stored procedures from the application module.
Apart from creating an application module base class and duplicating the helper method code is there a way
to share the helper methods for calling stored procedures between the entity impl and application module impl ?

Does the helper code depend on features of a particular entity object instance, beyond its database transaction?
If so, I'm not sure I see how it could be used from an application module class.
If not, here's what you do:
Step 1:
Parametrize the database transaction--you might even want to. So instead of

How do I backup and recover all of user's objects and Application?

I know that I can export the application ,CSS and images by HTMLDB.But there is not user's data. I can also export user's full schema by sqlplus. Can I recover all of user's objects like this:
1,import the user's schema.
2,create a new workspace and reuse the user'schema .
3,import the application ,CSS,images.
Then,Is all OK?

Lastgod,
Yes, you can do what you described. You definitely must use Oracle export/import (or something) to backup and restore the data in the application schema. On the HTML DB side, depending on your purpose, you might find it simpler to export the workspace using the HTML DB site administration pages. Then you would import and install the workspace (using HTML DB admin pages), which will let you confirm the workspace schema, instead of your step 2. After that your step 3 can be performed. When you export a workspace you get the user accounts and group definitions also, so you don't have to recreate accounts when you import/install the workspace in the same or another HTML DB instance.

I am writing a driver for a PCI card. I have found very good examples of how the driver should be build.
Where do I find the information about how the user mode application should be talking the driver.

I tRounding the Total Scores for Objectives and Competencies in Application

Where does one change the format of the total scores for the Overall Ratings and Comments - Objectives and Competencies in the front end /application?
Currently the total scores are in the format Objectives: Total Score 3.375
Competencies Total Score 2.69230769230769
HR want to show the Total Scores as rounded to 2 decimal places in the application so 3.375 becomes 3.38 and
2.69230769230769 becomes 2.70
Now i know how to do this in Toad using a select on the TOTAL_SCORE column in the hr.per_assessments table, but this is not i want to do here. Here i want to change the format in the FRONT END, not in the back end.
I tried the fast formulas but they dont seem to work unless i am missing something

Answer for question 1 --
Data objects : store and access business data (tables, indexes, sequences, index-organized tables, etc);
Code objects : process data objects but them don't contains business data (functions, procedures, packages, views, synonyms);

Application Scope Objects and Multithreading

I will be creating a set of interlinking objects in application scope that are intended for read only. The objects will be accessed every time a user makes a request to the servlet which will be on every link of the site since the servlet is a controller.
I am pretty sure that there are no concurrency issues here - that all requests will be able to access the objects quickly. Can someone confirm this for me.

As long as the threads only read information from the objects and do not update them then you should be ok.

declare the field b_vbeln of length u want adding length for 2 '0' also.
ex:- Vbeln length = 10
       b_vbeln type i length 12.
b_vbeln = vbeln.

Sharing an object/class bewteen servlets and applications

Hi there,
I wish to know how to share a class/object between all
types of other classes, be they applications or servlets, but I encounter the following problem.
Basically, if I instantiate the common class using, say a servlet, then when I try to gain a handle on the instance of that class from an application, the application creates a new(or it's own) instance. Similarly, if I instantiate first within an application.
How do I prevent this from happening?
The actual class files for both the application and servlets are all the same.

What you really want isn't just an application singleton, where there is one instance in the application/servlet JVM. What you really want is more along the lines of a universal singleton, where there is only one instance for ALL applications/servlets...
Interestingly, if I run two java apps side by side in
two DOS windows that each call a getInstance
method in common singleton, both apps create their
own instance.
How come? Separate instances of VM?Yes, this is exactly correct. The same is true of C++ Singletons; if you start a second application it will create another instance of the Singleton because one does not yet exist in the application.
How do I get aroun this one?Like I said, think of it as a universal singleton. Consider Verisign a universal singleton--everyone comes to them for certificates. How does this run? Well, truthfully, Verisign operates as a service, right? So you need some way of setting up a service that really holds onto the object and brokers (aha, 5 dollar word!) who has access to it, who can modify it, and who can read from it. This leads you to a few options... RMI, CORBA, or writing your own object server.
Networking is really easy in Java, so here's another option... You can set up a server that listens for messages on a specific socket/port with whatever protocol you specify to get/set values. Have the server run on only one specific machine. Then you can have all the servlets and applications come to the machine to get the information.
Gee, this sounds like a back-end database. =)
If all this is too complex, maybe you need to rethink the design... do you really need to have the exact same object shared between all application/servlet instances? Or is it acceptable to just make sure they all contain the same data?
If what you really want is a real-time data update scheme, then you probably want something like a subscribe-publish architecture where the one server publishes the origainal data. Then when a client updates the server, the server posts an update message to all the clients, who then in turn update their internal data.
Anyway, I'm just throwing out some ideas. I'm sure you can come up with some better ones of your own since you know what your requirements are. =)

I have just started working on the NI labview...i had a problem that when i changed the bitrate using CAN interface create-->CAN SDO create-->CAN write.after that i am not able to communicate with the device with the new bitrate....i have seen a few similiar forums, which talks about object and port handles as an solution of the problems..

I used the NI CAN monitor in MAX to monitor the CAN bus,there is no second frame shown in the monitor,See attach pictures.but It shown in the Vector CAN monitor and the code call the Vector DLL.

          scope="session"/> as well as objects that are explicitly maintained in the session
          with setAttribute().
          However, what about objects with application scope? Are they replicated to a secondary
          server when a cluster is in use?

          No, they are not replicated in the cluster. To implement replication you can use JavaGroups:

Designer itself has no direct integration with JDeveloper. However, there are three options. First of all, you can get a JDeveloper extension (download this separately) that lets you create a Connection to a Designer repository. From that Connection you can find modules that you defined in Designer and generate Entity and View objects for the tables and columns that you used in those modules, and an Application Module. It does not create JSPs or other user interface objects.
Another option is to buy JHeadstart from Oracle. This contains a set of code generators and ADF extensions that include an ability to get information from a Designer repository. JHeadstart works fine for non-Designer users too, but was built by the same people who wrote Designer Headstart - they know the repository API intimately.
The third option is to download Oracle Designer Extension Builder (ODEB) which was just recently made available. This is a product of a collaboration between Designer users from the Oracle Development Tools Users Group (ODTUG) and Oracle to extend the capabilities of Designer with user written tools and utilities. You could use ODEB to write your own generators for ADF Business Components. Or you could wait and see if someone else in the user community does this. I hope that you or whoever does such a generator will be willing to share it with us all.
