BR*Tools and RMAN Restore with Netbackup

I want to do a restore of Oracle database from production to test database as a different Oracle SID.
We use BR*Tools integrated with RMAN and tape library is Netbackup.
On production database the policy name is different as compared to test database.
Could someone please help me, how I can clone the production database to test database from the full backup.

cause in here there can different things that need to be considered.
System Copy
If you want to perform a homogeneous or heterogeneous copy of an existing SAP system based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0, use the following System Copy Procedures:
For EHP2: ABAP, ABAP + Java, or Java.
For EHP1 SR1: ABAP, ABAP + Java, or Java.
For EHP1: ABAP, ABAP + Java, or Java.

Downgrading the iOS is not supported, and likely has caused the problems you are experiencing.
You'll need to go elsewhere for support.

I have the same problem today. I accidentally let it slip off my lap right in the middle of the restore. I didn't capture the error code when failed but now I just have a black screen with the itunes logo. Potoshop's tools and windows disappears with Leopard's Spaces.

I was having very annoying problem with PS CS3 and spaces. Interface disappears when you focus a program that is on other space. This was with Photoshop CS3 and Flash CS3 trials. I'm very sad about this. Instead of optimizing the process its actually making it more annoying. For photoshop I used "tab" key twice to hide/show the interface, then it gets back. For flash, F4 does the same thing. But it's annoying.....
Mac Pro 2 x 2.8GHz Xeons with 2GB RAM.
I've seen a couple of guys having the same thing. Anyone found a solution?

I've noticed that same issue if I use the dock icons to act as application/space switchers but only on Adobe apps most notably Photoshop but occasionally Illustrator too it seems. I've adopted a different solution which seems to solve that options bar/tool box disappeaing act. In System Preferences/Exposé there is an option to use hot corners. I've assigned Spaces to my lower right corner. Flicking my cursor to that corner gives me a graphic image of all my spaces and windows open in each. In that image I can select my Photoshop space and don't experience the interface disappearing issue.

Photoshop CS6 Tools and Cursor Issues with Mountain Lion

Am using Photoshop CS6 on iMac 27inch with Mountain Lion. Experiencing inability to use the move tool to place one image on another after extraction. I place the move tool on the previously extracted image and drag it into an new image, but the extracted image does not get placed on the new image. Also, cursor disappears frequently when using Photoshop for extended periods of time.
Anyone having similar problems?

The cursor disappearing is a well known MacOS bug affecting all applications.
Have you installed all the updates for CS6?
And are you dragging from the layers palette, or from document to document?

My nano cannot be formatted and says restore with iTunes - doesn't work

I have a number of problems with the new nano.
It worked fine until I updated it (which I never did in the beginning). I formatted it like suggested here with the HP USB... and is was perfectly fine. I reset it like suggested, but when I plugged it in again to load the music from iTunes, it didn't show up.
The ipod showed in my computer so I formatted it there again as also suggested here, but it couldn't finish formatting and since then all I get is a screen that says 'restore ipod in itunes' in four languages.
Unfortunately I can't see it in itunes so I can't restore it, I can't show it in My computer, because it says that the device is not formatted.
I re-installed all the software a couple of times, but nothing works. The updated cannot see the ipod or says: this ipod is not covered by this software...
I am absolutly desperate, especially as I sit here in Germany, but the ipod was purchased in the US, so no way of bringing it back to the store quickly.
Any advice someone?

You make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store and get it serviced/replaced. You broke it. If you can't even force a reboot, there's nothing much more you can do.

I dont have much experience of using Netbackup7. I have the following queries:
1.) Do we need RMAN configured for using Netbackup?
2.) Can we take user managed hot and cold backups with Netbackup (the non-RMAN backups) ?
3.) What is the advantage of having Netbackup configured if we already take backups using RMAN? (provided DB size isn't too large (less than 200 GB))

No - In case if the database is in normal file system

It depends on the backup & recovery policy you want to maintain and also u must be aware of the Rman advantages.

Looking for Mail Rules Management Tools and Advice

I missed article #302257 Mac OS X 10.4.3: Some Mail rules may be disabled after syncing with .Mac
Now I have a big mess with lots of mails being directed to the Trash
unintentionally. I having difficulty sorting this all out.
I'm synching among 3 machines.
I had started with 153 rules. Without realizing it (see the article above) that number almost doubled but I was puzzled that some rules got turned off. Having so many rules I failed to check for duplicates at first - not that it really should have matter except to slow down the evaluation process a bit.
Rules seemed to be scrattered more widely than they were originally due to the syncing anomoly. But it is hard to get the "big view" with so many rules.
Last night I eliminated the dups on my main home machine. I tried to reorganizing for logic's and clarities sake. But made the mistake of renaming several rules. Now it seems that this caused problem, too.
Is there a better way or, even better, an application that works with Mail.app rules that can help one organize, helps tests the rules, and helps one make sure that the stop evaluating rules drop down is selected?
If there a non destructive way to open and print out the Mail.app rules file in an understandable way? And then use that information to write better mail rules?

Hi. Trying to connect iomega ext. HD. i have to reformat for Mac. When i plug in & go to Disk Utility,the external shows up and i'm supposed to click "partition". When i do, a box comes up saying ""Disk Utility has lost its connection with the Disk Management Tool and cannot continue. Please quit and relaunch Disk Utility." I quit and relaunched, same results. After googling my question, i came up with this:
"Disk Utility has lost its connection with the Disk Management Tool and cannot continue. Please quit and relaunch Disk Utility."
(Quitting and reopening Disk Utility does not help.)
The following also appears in Console log:

Workaround
Quit Disk Utility.
From the Finder's Go menu, choose Go to Folder....
Type the following, then click OK: /Library/Receipts
Temporarily remove these iTunes receipts from /Library/Receipts (sort the folder alphabetically as a list):
iTunes.pkg
iTunes4.pkg
You can put them on the desktop, for example. Do not remove iTunesX.pkg or iTunes Phone Driver.pkg.
Open Disk Utility and repair disk permissions again.
Quit Disk Utility.
Put the removed iTunes receipts back in /Library/Receipts.
Note: This issue does not affect Disk Utility's verify or repair disk features.
All seemed good, for a moment, until, upon going back to Disk Utility after removing itunes4.pkg and putting on desktop (i did not have itunes.pkg to remove) the same thing was happening. When i highlite my iomega ext. on left of page, disk perrmissions is grayed and does not allow me to click on it. Same problem from the start. Can somebody please help me out here? That would soooo awesome. Thanx!

You shouldn't be scared of that, because you should already have backups. If you don't have backups, then backing up is the first priority.
Insert the Snow Leopard DVD and restart. When you hear the chime, hold down the C key and keep holding it until the Apple logo appears on the display. You should now see the language selection screen. Select your language, then choose Utilities > Disk Utility from the menu bar. In the Disk Utility window, select the external drive (not the internal). The drive may already have a data partition, in which case there will be another icon below the drive icon. Choose the drive icon, then select the Partition tab. Create a single partition with the default options (GUID partition table, Mac OS X Extended Journaled).
When the partitioning is done, select the startup volume on your internal drive in the DU window. Select the Restore tab. Drag the icon of the startup volume to the "Source" field. Then drag the icon of the newly-created volume on the external drive to the "Destination" field. Make sure you have this right. Then click the Restore button, and the data on your startup volume will be copied to the external drive.
