Br*tools Studio installation FAILED

HI ALL,
i downloaded br tools studio 7.10(2), from sdn and trying to install on windows 2003 on sap ecc6.0 with
basis patch level 9.0. but it keep failing to install without any error logs. is there anything else i need.
please help me out on this in detail answers will be appreciate as i am new to basis.

Dear Experts,
We tried to install brtools studio in windows 2003 server but got some problem relate to web service that not generated during installation. I tried to folow guidence that i got from SDN "BRTools Studio for Oracle DBA" and will use Multi-instance server modes.
as mentioned on the prerequsite, before start installation, i already install J2SDK 1.4.2_19 and also Microsoft Internet Information System, then i run the installation. Installation actually finished successfully, but when i click launch button, it direct to http://<server>:port/studio but i got error message that page can not be found, then i tried to check on the IIS console and i found that there is no new website are created.
Is there any setings that we need to prepare on web server site? need your advice for this case.

Create a Studio home in any Drive With This Directory Structure
:\Oracle\sap\brtools\studio
EXTRACT the SAPCAR -xvf BRSTUDIO710EN__XXX.SAR into this directory
1) Call setup.cmd from command prompt
2) Click Install
3) Give https port By Default its 8888
4) Provide Password
5) Now keystore File (This is for security as we are using HTTPS)
We need to generate it using JAVA commands
Open Command Prompt Change Directory to java home
Run This Command and provide info:
Keytool -genkey
Give this path to next screen and password also you provide just now
Now a file has been generated
C:\document and setting\username\.keystore
6) Now installation is over.
Now Come to your Server
Here i am sharing the procedure to run and use BRTOOL STUDIO
1) To Run Studio Go to Studio home and run server.cmd
2) To Access it go to url;
Https:hostname:port/studio
3) A pop-up window will come
Provide username:Administrator(Same as shown Capital A and all other small )
Password:You provide at the time of installation
4) Click on instances and then Create
5) Provide Info as Password for Administrator
Database user (Please note that password of DB user should not be containu2019@u2019 in password string)
6) Give The Path for brtool profile parameter
Oraclehome/database/init.sap
7) Finally click on Go(Left Side)
8) Now you will be log off and login to your instance Using
Administrator as username and password you provide at the time of installation
9) Now here you can create more user for brtool with different user roles.
You can use it to view space, check status ,control files,backup,restore and you now more thingu2026u2026..

FinancialReporting Studio installation Failed 11.1.2.1

Hi All,
I installed Hyperion Essbase,Planning,Financial Reporting Studio,Interactive Reporting 11.1.2.1 with SQL Server 2005 as database. Everything installed succesfully without errors except Financial Reporting Studio.I followed the installation in three steps
1.Essbase
2.Planning
3.Reporting Analysis(FR Studio and IR)
However for Reporting analysis the "Configuring in Deployment Server" step is failed.Can someone help me out to resolve this issue.
1.I restarted the services in services.msc
2.I reconfigured the second time.
Still the issue exists.Can someone help me out on high priority basis.
Hyperion:11.1.2.1

Thanks for your reply.
John as per you suggestion I did Telnet the port got the following error:
C:\Users\shal>telnet hostname 1433
Connecting To servername...Could not open connection to the host, on port 1433:
Connect failed
After this I did a little research online & found the following posts:

Ran the commands step by step & it opened the port 1433 for me. I was able to run the configuration after that.
I totally agree with you point *"it is always worth sticking to supported operating systems"* :)

Final Cut Studio Installation Failed?!?!?

I just spent a bunch of hours patiently feeding my Macbook Pro all 7 of the the installation DVDs…. When it was done I ran software update which installed something to do with Pro Apps…. then I tried to Launch FCP 7 and it cannot be found…. there is no evidence that EVER installed FC Studio on this machine--what could be going on????

Can you navigate to your %temp% folder and filter by date to see the log of the Build tool?
I want to know which assemblies failed to be verified.
By the way, since MSBuild is embed in Visual Studio why you want to install this again? Do you have any error about this Build Tool when you install Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate?
“Signature or catalog could not be verified” is always related to corrupt source
, please double check you have a healthy network and then try the web installer again.

Adding instances to a dedicated installation of BR*TOOLS Studio 7.1

Hi all,
I created a dedicated installation of BRTOOLS Studio 7.1 on one of my systems. It sees the local Oracle instance fine and is working. The instructions said I CAN add additional remote instances (I know about the additional load, and it is not an issue for me)
My problem is that the remote instances will not connect even after giving the system time to sync (gave it a day)
I am creating the new instance and entering the following information.
I am running AIX 5.3L and Oracle 10g in my landscape.
name: SID
(Remote) shell: sh -c
Administrator User
Name: "my user"
Role: "BR*Tools Studio Administrator"
Password: xxxxxxxx
Database User Name: oraSID
password: xxxxxxxx
BR*Tools Default Profile: initSID.sap
The instance creates successfully but then doesn't connect. I'm not sure whether this is due to me entering an incorrect value, or whether the documentation was incorrect and I need to completely reinstall Studio as a "multi-instance server" instead of a "dedicated server".
Any help would be appreciated.

Installation BR*Tools Studio

I have installed BRTools Studio 7.10 Patch 1 on Windows Server 2003 x86_64. The installation was successful. After that I downloaded oc4j_extended.zip and extract it to \web-app-server\oc4j in BRTools Studio Path. When starting the server on commandline I get the following output:

BR*Tools Studio 7.10 Installation Error

I installed BR*Tools Studio 7.10 and OC4J accordingly.
When I try to log on Studio via link https://localhost:8888/studio.
The new opened window show that 500 internal error.
Please suggest.
JDK is 1.4.2_27 according to SAP Note 716604.
JDK 1.5.0_22 is tried but no solved.
BRTools is 7.20.
OS Windows Server 2008 R2
Oracle 10.2.0.4 with latest merge fix.
P.S.
Does anybody know how to uninstall BRStudio?
I delete the folder directly and installed in another folder.
The same port 8888 is specified during the installation.
But when I start the server, it tolds me that the http address has been used already.
So I guess the way to uninstalling may be incorrect.

Installation failing in Logic Studio. Big Problem!

Hello, I broke my Macbook recently and got a new one through insurance. Basically my copy of Logic was installed on the broken one and now I am installing it on the new one, I was told that you get two downloads on different systems. I tried to install Logic twice with the same disc as before and it gets quite a way through the installation and then says this installation has failed, contact support. Has anyone else had this problem, really need to make some beats.

This is almost exactly my situation, except my MacBook Pro was stolen inside my car which was also stolen. I got the car back but no MacBook Pro. I try to install Logic Studio on my new MacBook Pro and it hangs on "Writing Files" for a while, then it gives me the "Installation Failed" prompt. Anything you find out please let me know.

Installation Fail on Logic Studio

Hey all
I recently purchased Logic Studio 9 (new user--not an upgrade) and for some reason, the installation fails a bit more than halfway through the first disk, every time. I have tried only installing one component at a time and it still fails. I tried installing it to an external hard drive, no go. My OS and the rest of my software updates are completely up to date. I also have plenty of free space on my hard drive. I'm at a loss here, and not particularly computer literate. Any ideas?
I did call tech support in the US as I originally bought my computer there, and it's free for me to call the US from my computer (and 25p/minute for a domestic call here in the UK), but as I bought the product in the UK they wanted me to call the Cork location, which is fine, but they are apparently just going to send me a new disk anyway. Is an error with the initial disk most the most likely problem? I'd be very irritated if I waited through this stupid Royal Mail strike for another disk of my £399 product just to see the same error again.

Ahh that would be terrible! I called them this morning and they said that they are sending me a new disc, but it could take up to a week, which is already silly, but three weeks for such an expensive program, when it's a manufacturing error, is absolutely ludicrous. Right now I'm looking for someone else that has it but the odds of me finding someone that lives near to me, at university, with Logic Studio 9 are slim to say the least. Anyway, thanks for answering, and hopefully this works.

Logic Studio 9 - Installation Failed - HELP!!!

I just purchased a brand new copy of Logic 9 and installation has failed every single time I've tried, for hours now.
Have tried installing w/ and w/out jampacks and audio content, nothing seems to work...am I doing something wrong?

Hi,
You don't give much info in terms of how and when your installation failed. From what you say, though, you might have defective disks (or maybe a hardware problem), and no matter what you do, they won't work. In Denver you have an apple store? Take them and your computer in and let them try to install, and go from there.

MS SQL DB installation specific steps for SAP system is clearly documented in SAP Installation guide. Please download from SMP, read it carefully and install as mentioned in the guide.

VS2013 Installation failed - The Temp folder is on a drive that is full or is inaccessible

When I trying to install Visual Studio 2013 Premium either from .ISO or web installer, installation fails on installing Microsoft
Visual C++ 2013 x86 Minimum Runtime - 12.0.21005 with error:
The Temp folder is on a drive that is full or is inaccessible. Free up space on the drive or verify that you have write permission on the Temp folder.
But there are enought free space on system drive (36GB) and current user (local admin) and administrator has full access to C:\Windows\Temp and %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp folders. "Run as Administrator" has no effect.

BR*Tools Studio assistance / feedback

Hello All,
Those of you who are trying out / playing with the new SAP DBA tool (BR*Tools Studio), please place your experience in the forum.
I have installed BR*Tools Studio on a development instance in a dedicated server mode and trying to get hang of it. The product looks good but it is taking a while to get used to its functionality. The documentation provided is just basic to get started.
Issues I have are:
1. 500 Internal Server Error - java.lang.NullPointerException (logged frequently) - It has disappeared, not crashed for a while now, It could be related to memory resources on the server. relogging to it continues from the point it failed.
2. I have configured the instance to run as database user SYSTEM, but when I goto BR*Toos Wizard tab -> Database -> Tablespace, Datafiles, Control Files, Redolog Files. I am not able to view any of them. User SYSTEM has DBA and SAPDBA assigned.
All assistance will be useful.

please let me take the opportunity and address the two points you mentioned:
It is indeed common for BR*Tools Studio to occasionally hit a 500 Internal Server Error: java.lang.NullPointerException. Up to now, we were not able to determine the root cause of this issue, yet we feel that it must have to do with paging and asynchronous memory calls, as the exception often shows up after longer idle periods. In particular, it does not reproduce, and cannot be addressed properly by the Studio. A side effect of the exception is that, while you need to close the browser window, the client is not proprely logged off from the Studio, so that it is still visible in the client overview of the server administration, until the next Studio server restart. I hope that we can still find a solution for this issue, but it has been around for a long time yet also in development.
It is also correct that there is a little design flaw when adding an instance to BR*Tools Studio. When you add an instance, the Studio will synchronize with the instance dictionary not before the next full sync point in time, so that you cannot see the instance tablespaces, data files etc. immediately. Depending on the settings, this might take up to 20 minutes. A work-around, at least for a dedicated server, is to restart the Studio server, as a full sync gets carried out immediately after server restart. This is also a point we will try to address in one of the upcoming patches.
I, too, would like to propose to keep this thread open to share common experience with the Studio. This will give you the chance to provide feedback, and I will try to keep on and share some insight into the Studio structure and behavior. All the steps are done accordingly to the documents and the keystore file also was generated and the installation at the last stage comes out with an BrTools installation unsucessfull and the log file states: system specific data not found.
Has someone come through such an issue?
