Bradband Talk for my HCT 7 Pro

Hi,
I have BT Broadband Anywhere/Anytime with a HTC S710, that can connect to BB Talk, etc.
The battery being extremely poor on the S710, I just bought a Windows Mobile HTC 7 Pro, and cannot find any BT software for it to allow me to connect to BB Talk, or "Snap and Send", etc.
I have no problem using the SIM Card from my S710, or in connecting to BTFON/Openzone, or my BT Hub 2.0.
When will BT do the right thing and provide a package that I can load onto my new phone?
It should be fairly easy, as it is still a WM just like the S710, but is V7 and not V6.
If not, when will I get a rebate for not being able to use BT Talk or "Snap and Send"?
Many thanks
Colin

Thanks for the info.
Is this Official BT policy or just assumptions from the way BT are behaving.
My real problem was that the battery on the HTC S710 is hopeless.
(If I play patence for 30 miniues without the battery going flat it would be a miracle.)
It is not much better if I connect it to any Broadband node.
So I decided to get a better phone, and it looks like I chose the wrong model.
I suspect your work-arounds are related to V6 of Windows Mobile.
The HTC 7 Pro runs V7, and currently has no was to access the file system structure in the phone.
So, all ways of exchanging anythingwith a PC has to go through ZUNE, which is very pathetic at best.
The result, I suspect, is either to wait and pray that Windows 7, and/or BT take pity of V7 users,
or I write-off the HTC 7 Pro as a bad job and look for a better one, maybe Android.
At this moment I do not think much of BT's view of the Customer community.
All the best
Colin

  • Canon EOS MOVIE Plugin-E1 for Final Cut Pro Now Available...

There's been so much talk about the 5D, 7D, 550D on this board that I'm going to point to the EOS MOVIE Plugin-E1 for Final Cut Pro. This is supposed to speed to transcode of Canon Camera H.264 to FCP-friendly formats and let you add more metadata along the way.
    Enjoy!
Canon webpage. Under Drivers & Downloads. Once you select your OS, "Mac OS X", the download should appear near the top of the "Software" list.
    Note: (from Quickstart Guide)
This plug-in software allows you to convert MOV movies shot with an EOS Digital camera into ProRes files at high speed in the (Log & Transfer) window of Apple's Final Cut Pro.
FWIW: The quick start guide says cameras involved are 7D, 5D, 1D, no mention of 550D. Sort of odd.

For users in North America to make the Canon EOS REBEL T2i work (550D for Europe):
    1. Install the new Canon EOS MOVIE Plugin-E1 for Final Cut Pro (http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...nloadDetailAct)
    2. Go to Library/Application Support/ProApps/MIO/RAD/Plugins/CanonE1.RADPLug/Contents/Resources/
    2. Open up cameras.plist
    3. After the 7D info add the following lines of code (keeping to the coding structure):
    <key>T2i</key>
    <array>
    <string>Canon EOS REBEL T2i</string>
    </array>
    4. Save the text file. Close it. Everything should work now.
    Cheerz.

  • Hello , please tell me whats the price of a screen and casing for a macbook pro 13inch.ty

hello , please tell me whats the price of a screen and casing for a macbook pro 13inch.ty

ds store's opinion will be right in some, but not all cases.
That largely depends on eactly which year and MacBook Pro (e.g., 5,1 ) model you are talking about, as well as whether you are rather "handy" and can do the swap yourself.
On older Macs, used complete screens are available on the secondary from machines that have died. Step-by-step photo-illustrated guides are also available for sources like ifixit.com. [Their motivation for providing these guides for free is that some readers will buy their parts to make the repairs themselves.]
Newer Macs may be valuable enough that having Apple fix them may be cost-effective. A free appointment at the genius Bar (with no obligation to proceed with ANY repairs) can get you a quote to consider.

  • Stylus For My MacBook Pro

Hey all, for now I can't afford a drawing tablet so I was wondering if anyone could suggest the best stylus for my MacBook Pro so that I could perform some simple drawings?
    Thanks,
    Crayton

You know, I really didn't look around as hard as I thought I did. Actually I just saw a few posts here and there talking about how much these things are and it scared me a way. Therefore, you are right, these are within my budget. What I am going to be using them for is for some fairly simple graphics for animating some web commercials for a company that I will be working with. They want simple animation, but trying to work it with my mouse or finger is just stupid (for me). Therefore I thought I go for a stylus that I could draw with on my laptop. But if there is a pad and stylus that is within those prices then I would go for that. Thank you by the way.
Based on the limited details that I have given you, do you think they will do the trick? (I'm trying to think of an example to give you of what they are thinking of).......have you seen those UPS commercials that the dude is drawing on the white wall? Those are very simple graphics, and that is about what they are looking for. My main goal is that I am able to create clean lines. Do you know what I mean?
    Either way thank you.
Also, thanks to you other guys and your posts, on my behalf. To answer one of the earlier posts, I was only wanting the stylus to be used on the built-in tablet on my MacBook. Is that what you were asking?
    Thanks again guys,
    Crayton

  • I NEED MULTIPLE SYSTEM LICENSE FOR ACROBAT READER PRO. HOW CAN I BUY. HOW MUCH FOR THAT

I NEED A MULTIPLE PC LICENSE FOR ACROBAT READER PRO. HOW CAN BUY. HOW MUCH FOR THAT.

Reader is free. If you want multiple licenses for Acrobat, you have to discuss this with Acrobat. The Adobe Store gives pricing for up to 9 licenses. Volume license require talking to Adobe, not other users.

  • HT204088 Where do I find all the transactions I have made at Apple for my Macbook pro?

I had to get a new battery for my mac pro and then had to get the screen replaced and a couple of other things. Where can I find all of this information?

They should have emailed you the receipt as well as given you a printed receipt (I'm assuming you're talking about dealing with Apple, here).

  • Better for gaming: Mac Pro or 24-inch iMac?

Well, I was already considering a Mac Pro since after I got my G5 iMac I started playing games like WoW and Sims 2 that really push the graphics card to its limit (especially the Sims).
Considering that the iMac setup I want (2.33 GHz, 2GB RAM, 7600GT card) would cost me $2500 before tax, and that I would still have to buy a separate monitor for the Mac Pro, which is the better deal? Is the 7600GT better enough than my current FX5200 that I won't feel the need to upgrade the graphics card in six months?
I'm not one of those that always gets the latest and greatest, but I've been mulling over an Intel Mac purchase for a while now, and I need some help with this decision.
20-inch iMac G5; black iPod nano   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hello,
I'm sorry, but I believe that an Intel Core 2 Duo is
much faster than the MacPro's processors. Having 4
processors does not mean that the machine will be
    faster.
Also, please note that the MacPro and iMac both have
different processors from a different family. Tha
MacPro's processors are designed for servers and
multi-tasking. Playing games is not multi-tasking.
Also, most high-end Windows XP machines have Intel
Core 2 Duo processors in them rather than the
processors that the Mac Pro has.
Sure, the MacPro can be upgraded but there is only a
limited number of hardware that can be put into a
Mac. With Apple, you probably won't need to
upgrade... atleast for 4 or 5 years, depending on
    one's usage.
    Please consider this,
    Robert
I'm sorry, but you are very mistaken. The processors in the iMac are low-power (i.e. laptop) version of those found in the Mac Pro's. The Mac Pro's processors are even faster than the iMac, and not because there is more cores. The Mac Pro is powered by Core 2 Extreme processors, while the iMac is powered by a Core 2 Duo. Intel even quotes the Core 2 Extreme to be "the world's best gaming processor". So the Mac Pro is no doubt more powerful, but since we talking games here, the 2nd processor (3rd and 4th cores) won't get used. A wast of money to get them IMHO. So my recommendation is get the iMac with a 7600GT and 2GB of RAM (or more).

  • Could someone please let me know the best external hard drive for a Mac Pro 17 in. ? Thank you .

    Hi,
I am new to the community and need advice as soon as possible . I have been using the iMac hard drive , but need a external hard drive to put on the Mac Pro and dont know what kind to get . Could someone please let me know the best for the Mac Pro ? I was told to get the 500 MB external back up , but when searching for it on the internet I saw different ones that had other things with the 500 MB . Some had 300 or 200 something else along with them and I dont know which to purchase .
I will appreciate more than you know if you could help me with this , as the Pro is needing backed up now.
    Thank you ,

I appreciate all the great advice here , but all this is overwhelming to me , as you all are so intelligent with these things and this causes me to feel more dumb about a Mac than I was already .
I paid for a One on One to learn these things , but I have a Immune Disorder and wasn't able to attend one class , so its not that I didn't try , I am just not able to travel . I don't like asking others for help , but at this point I don't have a choice.
I called Apple store and was told to get a External Back-up for the Macbook Pro to back up the info. on the device in the event it crashed . And another reason was "they " said to get this was I have a 2 TB backup on the iMac desktop and that using it to back up things on the Macbook would take up all the space of the backup on the desktop . I hope I am saying these things right for others to understand me as I said I don't know much about these things , at all really . I am wondering if I should have ever bought these products as it seems they are much harder to learn than I thought . I do admire all the brains you all have here and wish I knew just a little of what you all know.
Someone ask the kind of Macbook Pro I have , it was bought in August of 2011 , but sat all those times , was only updated when needed to be , as I was trying to learn on the desktop Mac and with this illness I live in bed more than up , so I couldn't learn on both devices . I should also say at this time I paid for an extra 3 yrs. to have the opportunity to call in for advice , but was only given 15 min. of talk time , and I can't complain as the Techs were very supportive , but the problem was and is I can't be out of bed long enough to learn things I need to with only getting to call Techs , maybe every 3 or so months and sometimes I didn't call for 5 or so months , now that has expired and I don't have a choice but to ask for help .
I know some might wonder why I went to the trouble to have these devices with being sick , but I would like to live some with what time I have left in life . I am not searching for pity here , just wanting to clarify what has happened and why I am having to bother others . With this out of the way now I can get onto the other things here.
I am afraid I might have messed up the backup on the Macbook Pro was trying to make a back up and clicked on something saying do not use this , meaning the device from the desktop again . I had connected the backup device from the desktop , trying to make a backup of things on the Macbook Pro and also cant get the Time Machine turned back on , once I turned it off .
I am sorry I have taken so much time to try and explain this to you all , but I am not computer savvy as you are and have had a hard time explaining all this .
I noticed also someone said this isn't the right forum for this , and would like for someone to point me to the right one if you don't mind.
I appreciate all the good advice here and all the trouble you all went to for me .
Thank you , thank you all .

  • What type of internal hard drive can I use for my Macbook pro?

    HI,
My macbook pro stopped working and I took it to Apple store to find out what was wrong with it. I have been told that the hard disk i snot working anymore.
Since I cannot afford to pay Apple's fees, I was told that I can order it online and pput the disk myself.
Can anyone please tell me what do I need to focus on when buying a hard disk and what would be the best hard disk for my macbook pro.
    Thank you

A MacBook Pro uses a 2'5" SATA hard drive, so any hard drive with these specs should work. We recommend HGST and Seagate drives, but Western Digital drives also work correctly. Have a look at OWC > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/hard-drives/2.5-Notebook/
7200 rpm HDDs will give you extra performance. They are not very expensive

  • How will an external Hard drive designed for the macbook Pro work with my White Macbook?  My  white macbook has a Firewire 400 and the G-Tech HD has a 800 to 400 compatible cable for the firewire.

I am asking this because I want the G-Tech Hard drive  says that it is designed for the macbook pro.  Yet, I want to back up faster with by using my firewire 400 which is not an option on the one designed for the white macbook that does not have a firewire (only a USB port.)  The G-Tech Hard drive comes with the 800 to 400 compatible cable and has 5400 RPM with 750 GB.  Also, I've heard that laptops with low battery (mine all the time)  won't have the power for a bus powered Hard drive (as in no ac plug in adaptor.)  Can I just plug in my laptop?  Any one know the answers from experience with this hard drive?

As far as I know, if a harddrive works with a Macpro, it should work with the Macbook: if your Macbook is low on power, plug in the AC adapter
If your Macbook has a firewire port, then it should be fine. BUt i would do somemore research first.

  • Can I return My IMac to exchange it for a Macbook Pro?

I have had a IMac 27 inch since march and it is the newest one. I dont like it, so can i return it for a macbook pro? I have the receipt and everything that it was bought with.
Please let me know, because im going to the apple store soon!

If it is past 30 days then no you cant, which by what you said in your post; you purchased in march. If it is in the past 30 days then you will most likely only be able to do it through corporate apple. To the best of my knowledge the Apple retail stores aren't fit to handle returns and exchanges all that well. So call 1-800-my-apple or chat with an apple store rep to ask about exchanges. If you want directions for how to chat then just ask, they are lengthy so I don't want to type them if you aren't going to use them.
Remember, you can only exchange/return within 30days, restocking fees may be applied. See Apple, Inc. For more information.

  • How do I use my IMac as a second moniter for my Macbook Pro?

Okay, So I would like to use my IMac as a monitor for my mbp. The IMac is a 2010 model and the Macbook is 2012 (Not the retina).
I'm a music producer and I'm sick of having to switch devices so I just want to keep all my stuff on the macbook but the screens way too small.
What I want to do is use the mbp screen with the mixer section of logic  as well as use the IMac as a second moniter with the arrange screen.
Is it possible to do this with an ethernet cable?
    if so
    How do I do it?
Oh and a question on the side, Is mavericks worth the download?
    Thanks!!

You can use the iMac as an external display for your MacBook Pro, always that you have got a 27-inch iMac. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11302
You have to purchase a Mini DisplayPort cable (Ethernet won't work, as this is not designed as a video cable to connect Macs), and then, press Command and F2 keys on the iMac.
If you have got a 21'5-inch iMac, you can use an application like ScreenRecycler, which uses your network to use the iMac as an external screen

  • IMac or wait for new MacBook Pro 2013 or 2014?

I have a mid 2007 iMac model, and my PC laptop recently died- I am debating right now as to whether I should buy the iMac 2013 since it was recently updated or just wait for the MacBook Pro update said to be released sometime this month. I'm in need of a new computer for sure and can last for a bit on my iMac (it's staring to get really slow). I personally would want a MacBook Pro so I could bring it to school/classes but also going to partition it play some PC Games (they're not that graphic hungry, just TERA, MMO's).
I was considering to get the 2013 iMac now and wait until next year for the rumored Sharp IGZO MacBook Pro coming out early 2014 sometime during the summer before next school semester starts. That being said, I don't want to risk the 2014 pro not releasing until AFTER the school semester.
My second option (the safer route) is to wait for the new 2013 MacBook Pro to release this month (hopefully) and that would be the end of it.
I just want to get the most out of my money as well as the reassurance that it would be energy efficient, durable to last for the rest of my college years. Thanks!

I just want to get the most out of my money as well as the reassurance that it would be energy efficient, durable to last for the rest of my college years
So how long is your college course?
The latest MacBook Pros have just been released. No need to wait any longer!

  • What is the right charger for a MacBook Pro 13"  mid 2009 model?

What is the right charger for a MacBook Pro 13" mid 2009 model? I have two chargers for two different Mac and don't know which is  thankswhich. I'm really looking for specific details such as voltage/watts and all the rest to idenify my charger.  A link to where to web page where I could purchase the correct charger would also be very useful. Many thanks.
All help much appreciated. THANK YOU

Both power adapter I have are different (at the magnet end) from the one in link.
Earlier adapters have T shaped connectors, which Apple later changed to the L shape, presumably to make them more abuse-proof. Either one is fine and the one you are using will not damage your Mac.
Retina MBPs and new MBAs use a completely different MagSafe 2 connector which will not fit (without an adapter).

  • Which processor to choose for Final Cut Pro working with files from DSLR?

I am shooting in hd with Canon Eos 5d MK II and another camera the Panasonic HDC sd700.
I am considering upgrading my Mac to either a stationary Mac Pro or an Imac 27 inch (which is a bit more flexible).
1.) How much difference in performance of FCP between the 2,8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon "Nehalem" and the 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 (the latter installed in the Imac)??????
2.) How much need is there for external esata drives which I can get with the Mac Pro option in regard to performance needs in comparison with the slower FW800 I get with the Imac? Is this crucial? Will FW 800 external drives be to slow?
I am thinking of installing 8GB of ram if I go for the Imac and 6GB of ram if I go for the Mac Pro.

A point to remember Motion uses the RAM on the graphics card for rendering not the machine RAM .. I have also read that while FCP is still 32bit it can only access something like 4 / 6Gb RAM at a time .. so as a previous post says you can always add more RAM and more HDDs in a MAC Pro .. indeed it is a breeze to upgrade a graphics card too .. I have both a MAC Pro and an i7 iMAC I never use the iMAC for FCS work .. it is powerful enough but Geekbench (free benchmark tool http://www.primatelabs.ca/geekbench/) puts my MAC Pro way ahead of the iMAC .. my Pro is a 2 X Quad Core 2.26 with 12Gb RAM
    Regards
    Jim
