Branching EXE warning pop-up

Overview of structure:
Project one- main.exe
Project two- mod1.exe
Project three- mod2.exe
All files are published to the same directory, C:\, which is
a local drive.
mod1.exe - the last slide has 2 buttons.
1. Continue, which closes mod1.exe and opens mod2.exe
2. Main Menu, which closes mod1.exe and opens main.exe
Both buttons do their job, ie, closing mod1.exe and opening
the respective *.exe
The problem is, before the respective *.exe is opened, I get
a MS Windows
dialog asking if I want to Run, Save, or Cancel the EXE file.
Is there a workaround or way to disable this?
I usually use SWF and HTML for publishing, but my current
customer is asking for EXE only.

Hi Shnoogins
Sounds like you are popping the .EXE files up on a server and
accessing that way, right? If so, I'm unaware of any workaround for
this. And actually, it's a good thing there isn't.
Why? (I'm so happy you asked!)
Think about it. Windows has no clue that this is an innocuous
Captivate created .EXE file. For all it knows, the nasty virus
folks have been busy and created some nasty gnarly .EXE that seizes
your hard drive, locks you out and does what it wants. So any time
a file of this type is attempted to be opened off a web server,
your user will need to make a choice. Save it, Run it or Cancel it.
I suppose some clever soul may be able to create a way to
bypass things. If so, perhaps they will post with a solution. And
if so, I'll be watching keenly, as it will prove interesting!
Cheers... Rick

  • Exclamation mark warning pop up

Hello, a few minutes ago I was on my phone and a kind of 'warning' symbol popped up.
It was an exclamation mark inside a white circle that was inside a big black rectangle, the whole
thing was a bit bigger than the icon that comes on the screen when the volume is altered with the buttons
on the side of the phone. I don't know if this is an actual warning for something but I'm going to assume that something bad
is happening because it was an exclamation mark and they dont usually signify good things regarding technology.
I've never heard of anything like this happening to anyone before and I'm hoping someone can
    help me with this.
I have looked on the internet for answers and I can't seem to find anything.
Earlier on today I was having problems syncing my iPhone 5c with my laptop. It was stuck on step
5 for what seemed like an eternity so I cancelled the sync and I unplugged my phone from the laptop while
the sync was cancelling. I dont know if maybe this is the reason the 'warning' popped up, but the syncing
incident happened at least an hour before the exclamation mark popped up on my phone.
I was on the YouTube app when the 'warning' came up on the screen and maybe it could have something
to do with that I have no idea but I didn't touch the screen before it popped up.
If no one knows what's going on with this then I shall contact Apple but I figured it must have happened
    to someone before.
    Thanks.

  • M/S warning pop-up

I have a brand new Toshiba C655-S5041 that this warning pops up every time I log on.
    "Required System Software Not Installed

How do I get rid of this message?
Also, how can I copy one of these warning messages from the desktop? In XP I could use "print screen" but I can't find anything like that on W7.

  • VK11/12- Warning pop up

    Hii All
There is a requiement in condition record where we want to have a warning pop up when we enter the valid from date i.e. whenever the valid from date is in past the system should give a pop up message.
Can anyone let me know the settings where this can be changed.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Gaurav Manocha

    Hi
U can check up with abaper with the BADI "WB2_CONDITION"
    Interface "IF_EX_WB2_CONDITION"
    Method "AT_CONDITION_CREATE".
check whether the badi triggers at the time of creation of condition record with abaper and If triggers write the logic for ur requirement that if the date of "valid from" compares with "system date" and accordintly system gives a message/popup.
Try this one; This would resolve ur problem n let me know.

  • Can Finder's 'Caution' or 'Warning Pop-ups Be Disabled?

I sometimes have to change a bunch of file names which include incorrect file extensions. Every time you add, remove or change a file extension, a little 'warning' or 'caution' message pops up that asks if you really want to make such a change and warns of possible undesirable consequences.
This is very irritating and time consuming to have to click every time to allow the change to be finalized. There is no option with this type of warning that says "Don't Show This Message Again."
Is there any way to disable this automated warning pop-up?
    RLC

Instead of making that warning go away, maybe you can make a folder with an AppleScript "folder action." When you drop a file into that folder, the action of changing the file extension is taken. Just an idea. I don't know exactly how to do it (I'm not an AppleScript expert), but Folder Action is a part of Mac OS X. Seems like changing file extension would be something someone would have already scripted.

  • AFTER EFFECTS WARNING pop up in AE 2014CC 13.1

Has anyone else recieved this warning? It has popped up on my screen several times now.  It doesn't seem to have any ill effects as all I have to do is click the ok button to continue.  I know another designer in my office has had the same issue.
We are running Windows 7, one desktop is a Lenovo the other a Dell.  24 and 32 gigs ram, ATI and NVIDIA cards respectively.

Windows 7, yes, but with any service packs? Win 7 Pro 64 bit - Service pack 1 on Lenovo Think station with Dual Xeon processors and 24gig ram
Have you installed any third-party codec packs (such as K-lite [don't] or GoPro Studio)? DivX
Have you any external previewing hardware (BlackMagic, Matrox, etc.) NO
What are you doing when it happens? Nothing paticular.  Sometimes nothing at all.  I'll step away from the computer, come back and it's there.
What assets are in your project? Format/codec of any footage, jpegs, PSDs, AIs? It has happened in multiple projects and never specific to a comp. Simplest comp on screen when it's appeared - Text (with generic animations), png's, solid.  For that matter, the entire project consists of 4 comps with the mentioned assets.
What effects are used in your project? Simplest project when it's appeared has had Stroke generator.
Any third-party effects installed? Unmult, Element 3d? ShapeShifter? Particular? yes unmult, Trapcode suite of plugins (paticular, 3D stroke, Mir, lux, shine...) , Red Giant suite of plugins (KLF, psunami, toonit, warp...), Zaxwerks (ProAnimator, 3D Flag, Grid Warp, Serpentine...) Video copilot (Element, Twitch, Optical flares) - NONE of which are applied in even the simplest project when the WARNING has popped up.
It has appeared with no other programs running and it has appeared with multiple other programs running (Photoshop, AME). I have a WACOM table attached but not in use at all.
Graphics card is NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800
And while I was writing this I ran a test, with AE open but no active comp or project, no assets of any kind and the same warning popped up.

  • 1073676294 Warning Pop Up in .EXE not Development

    Hi everyone,
I have a subvi which generates the warning 1073676294.
When I run the main vi in development mode, everything is ok (a warning is made in the error cluster, but the program continues).
However, when I build the application, the warning generates a pop-up window (and hence halts the program). I am then required to press Continue or Stop.
I don't want this pop-up to occur in the .exe application.
Can anyone please help me out.
    Thank you,
    Dean.

    Thanks for the suggestions Elsa.
Unfortunately in my program, I can't increase the byte count.
What I need to do in my program is read from VISA the bytes of a fractional number. The fractional number is an angle with 1 decimal place.
So the value can be either, for example,
    0.6
    1.8
    66.1
    340.7
So if 1.8 is on the buffer, then when i read from VISA 1 byte at a time i will get
'8', then '.', then '1'. The software does not know how many bytes there will be on the buffer.
Also if I read say anything else than 1 byte in the vi, then the vi returns an error (obviously worse than returning a WARNING).
I don't care that there is a warning from this vi. I just don't want my executable from creating a pop up everytime the WARNING (note not an error) is generated.
I have never had this problem before with executables. I repeat that the pop up doesn't occur when i run the exe file.
I hope someone can lend some assistance.
    Thank you.

  • My computer screen tells me that I am using an old version of Firefox which Gmail no longer supports so I click upgrade to newer version, download 6.0.2.exe but then the same warning pops up on my scree.

    see my question

About:config can change pretty much anything about firefox. Most everything you do in about:config won't do any harm, but Firefox has to display the warning for political/legal reasons. I change settings in about:config all the time, and I haven't lost anything yet.
Once you accept the message, on the top you will see a "filter" box. Type, or paste "general.useragent" into that box. If anything there is bold, then your useragent is tricking Gmail. Right click on each bold entry and click "Reset" from the drop-down menu. You can close about:config and restart firefox.
If that doesn't work, there's a good chance you are still running an old version of firefox. This article on [[Updating Firefox|Updating Firefox]] should help you get to the new version.

  • Insert Software Dreamweaver 8 Disc and Adware Warning Pops Up

    Hi All,
When installing Dreamweaver 8 onto my computer (either in XP mode virtual box or Windows 7 professional), a pop up reads :  a virus or unwanted program adware/adware.gen was found in the e:\autorun.exe
This warning happens immediately as soon as I insert the disc into my laptop.  Is this normal or is this bad software?
I purchased this from someone on Ebay.  This Dreamweaver 8 was said to be new and with a  factory sealed package.  It all was packaged up with plastic and seemed brand new as stated.
Am I supposed to temporarily disable my Avira Antivirus program while I do the install or do you think this program is somehow been hacked and then packaged up?
Sorry to bother you all on a simple question like this but I don't know if I should tell the Ebay guy it's malicious software or not.
Thanks for you help on this,
    ~Tamara

    Nancy,
Thanks for your feedback. Now I know that it should not cause an "AV warning" as you put it.
This was the ebay guys response:
Yes this was purchased directly from adobe. I bought 4. Never used 2. Sold you and someone else brand new unopened dream weaver product and have received positive feedback from them within the last week. The other 2 programs have also worked flawlessly at my business.
The auto run problem with adware sounds like something is downloaded on your computer that disrupts downloading software.
I would never buy software that was out of the package but it was a factory sealed Dreamweaver 8 so I assumed it had to be okay.  All looks brand new on it to, the shrink wrap, everything.
My reason for purchasing it is that I've been using it all these years and upgraded to new computer.  The learning curve for CS5 sounded more than I had time for at the moment.  I had read that certain parts of websites created in Dreamweaver 8 might have to be redone or tweeked in CS5.  Just using the old Dreamweaver sounded like relief to me at the moment and then upgrade when I have time.
But I would like to know about "a lot has changed in web standards."  Are my websites not loading or working in some browsers correctly because of using the older Dreamweaver software? Haven't noticed anything not working when I go to my websites on my new Windows 7 computer.
I appreciate your advice.  Does the line the guy gave me above sound remotely like it could be true?
    Sincerely,
    Tamara

  • "low memory " warning popping up..

... "low Memory" "Save your work".Error message pops up. My system.. Dell 530 intel duo e4500 @ 2.20 ghz , 2.19ghz 3GB ram.. Why do i get this warning? Adobe says 2gigs is the minimum ram required.. what do I do to stop this error message from popping up? Thanks so much for helping this Knuckle head out..

    Gonzalo,
I do not know Adobe's policy on discs, for the download version, but they do offer "replacement" discs, for the boxed version for a nominal fee. This, however, is usually for the latest version of each of their programs. Do not know if they offer this service to older programs.
I'd follow Steve's advice, but please report back with what you find out. I've always bought a boxed version, whether a new or an upgraded program, so I'm no expert on what Adobe offers.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
