Brand new bought today trying to set it up but my ipod touch 5th gen wont activate
can someone help me please have had the shittest day nothing working, now i bought this new ipod, turned it on setup wifi and it is saying to activate so i press yes and it says sorry cannot activate system error or somthing and says try again later, this is ********

I have an iphone 4 16 gb and got an ipod touch 64 gb because i needed more momory. i need to sycn everything from my iphone 4 to my ipod touch 5th gen i just bought. i just downloaded the latest version of itunes as well. To be honest, the newest version of itunes is hard to use and not as user friendly in my opinion - or i may not know how to use it yet. Anyways, i tried to backup my iphone to itunes and then restore my new ipod from the backup of the iphone 4, but it only backed up phoyos, contacts, and two other things (games was not one of them). Then when I restored my ipod, that is all that downloaded onto the ipod as well. I would really appreciate if someone would be able to provide me with detailed instructions as to how to be able to download everything from my iphone 4 to my ipod touch 5th generation. Thanks in advance!
Well first you need to sync your iPhone 4 with your Mac/PC so that it will transfer all your music, apps, podcasts, etc. Then sync your iPod Touch and the media you selected during the sync should be there on your iPhone. If you have difficulty in transferring media from iPhone to your computer, try softwares like TransCopy. They will help in transferring data from your iphone to your computer. Dont forget to check that all the transferred data is in the iTunes media folder so that the iTunes can locate the files. Link to Transcopy software :

Brand new ipod touch 5th gen 64gb problems with first power on
I have just received a brand new ipod touch 5th gen 64 gb from amazon. After reading the instructions i tried to power it on but nothing happened.
It was suggested on here to try the recovery start but again, nothing happened.
I then plugged the device in to a wall socket charger to see if the battery is flat,but the apple logo comes on for about 15 seconds then goes off again. If I hold down the home button while the apple logo is off, after a while the ipod goes into recovery start up, but as soon as i unplug it from the wall socket adaptor it turns off.
It will not do anything plugged into the usb soccket of my laptop.
Any ideas or will I have to return this to amazon?Try:

On/off button not working on brand new iPod touch 5th gen
My daughter has just unboxed a brand new iPod touch 5th gen that arrived today.
It wouldn't turn on so I assumed the battery was flat which I thought was odd but I plugged it in and it came on - 90% + battery.
The on/off button does not do anything. We've pressed it, held it - nothing. If I press the on/off and the home button together, Siri starts.
It will only switch off after a minute has elapsed. We can't do it manually.
What's going on? Any ideas?If you have an Apple store nearby I would make an appointment at their Genius Bar.

if i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it to the option 'set up as a new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and log into my apple ID so i can just restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos, contacts, ect. and then later i can add contacts that i need/want instead of them restoring them from icloud?
The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...

-sierraHey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. I am trying to sync music to my new ipod touch 5th gen have never used i tunes before so new to this and I see that it looks like in itunes that under library music(there is a cloud at the end there) and all music is there but how do I get it from library to ipod when I try and sync it wont sync the music it shows my ipod but its not syncing

Brand-new iPod Touch 5th gen often freezes win7 while charging

I've had a new iPod touch 5th gen for about two weeks now.
I also have a laptop that runs Win7, that has had no problems whatsoever until now, and that has no problems when the iPod isn't plugged in.
Here's what happens:
I plug in the iPod Touch to update files and recharge the battery
All goes well, iTunes sees iPod, battery's charging
Lalala
Bam! Some 15-30min later:
Laptop freezes over.
I have had to manually shut down the laptop more than a dozen times in a couple weeks now.
The iPod is killing the laptop dead. Slowly, but surely, it's happening.
I love my laptop. I NEED my laptop. I otherwise love the iPod too
This happens whether the iPod is ejected, but still charging, or not; whether iTunes is on or not
I unplug the iPod: nothing; laptop still dead.
Sometimes, it happens when I change songs, as I simultaneously listen to the iPod while it charges.
Other times, it happens while fiddling with playlists and tag infos in iTunes. (<-- I am particularly weary of this one, since, it seems to me, the iPod takes a few good seconds to access tag infos/change songs, much longer than, for instance, did my iPod Nano 5th gen, though, understandably, that one did not have an OS)
Other times, it just happens suddenly, with no apparent cause other than that the iPod is plugged in.
Could it be the cable? (any way to find that out without investing in a new cable? )
The iPod runs iOS 6.1.3; the laptop runs iTunes 11.0.5.5.
The laptop is equipped with a fairly new SSD, no HDD [does that matter?!]
Any help/ideas to get these two to get along would be greatly appreciated !! Thanks.If yo mean the iPod freeze and does some things when charging. other users have experienced that problem. However. I have not seen a reply concerning the resolution.

Usage: 2 hours, 9 minutes
Standby Mode: 11 hours, 45 minutes.
It was at 65% 4 minutes ago. 4 minutes later, it's at 60 % battery, and it wasn't even on.
I always turn it off when not in use and turn wifi off.
Only used to send texts via iMessage and take a few photos today.

If yo are setting up the iPod vai wifi you have to connect to a network that does not use MAC address filtering.
