Your battery is running quickly because your cellular data connection is weak.

  • Satellite L850 - after 1 year of usage battery runs out quickly

Hi, through programs such as care or BatteryBar battery battery I see a Toshiba Satellite L850 *battery wear from 48%* currently. I notice that playing a game the battery runs out quickly, as the warm up by a lot, and often descalibra and behaves erratically.
The laptop is a year old. Is it normal for the battery to wear so much in so little time?
Would you accept a guarantee or battery replacement can claim wear caused by misuse?

First of all you have to know that battery working time depends on the notebook usage.
Running heavy performance applications like a game would discharge the battery much quickly. Why? Because parts like GPU and CPU and cooling modules run at highest performance and this needs power.
Also using the notebook with highest display brightness would discharge the battery faster.
You should also know that every battery would start to loose own performance after about 500 charging cycles. This is nothing unusual and will happen to all batteries.
To avoid or to slow down this process, its recommended to calibrate the battery from time to time.
Calibrating means charging and discharging the battery fully.
Charge the battery until it would be fully charged, then disconnect the AC adaptor and keep the battery discharging until its fully empty. Repeat this procedure 2-3 times in the row.

  • Brand new iPhone 4 battery drain

I know there are many posts regarding this subject but my issue is very strange.  I had a 3GS for 2 years and it had IOS 5.01 but beginning last Friday the battery began to drain.  I went to an Apple store and the tech told me that the problem was that the usage time and the standby time was exactly the same.  So he tells me to do a restore and set it up as a new phone.  I tried everything...restore from backup, restore as a new iPhone...no change.  So I am thinking that the battery is toast.  Time to upgrade.  I go to ATT to get my new iPhone 4 on Wednesday and get home to set it up on iTunes.  Now my brand new iPhone 4 is doing exactly the same thing as my former 3GS.  I opened a case with Apple today and was told to do a backup then a restore from the backup.  I did not sync any of my apps or music.  Left work at 5pm with a 100% charge, did not use the phone at all for 2+ hours, checked the charge at it was at 74%.  I checked the usage and just as I suspected the usage time and standby time were exactly the same, as if I had been using the phone for 2+ hours.  Apple says they will send me another phone but I really don't think the problem is the phone.  The only common denominator is iTunes.  Any thoughts?

Dlwynn, this is a crazy issue. I can only immagin how frustrating this issue could be for you!
One thing I have found when dealing with any possible hardware or software issue, that I need to get isolated is to scrap the whole back up/restore from back up, and restore the device as new, and see where you are at without all of your stuff on it.
When doing this procedure its important that if you DO have important stuff on the phone you do not want to lose that you back it up in another way...Contacts into windows contacts or use iCloud. You would stand to lose application settings, text messages and call history ..because these are things that are only stored in the back up.
You can save your pictures to your computer using Auto play.
Another way to go about it would be to navigate to your hidden back up folder, copy it to your desktop..restore as new...and if that does not resolve your issue, you put your back up thats on your desktop back into the hidden back up folder, and restore from your back up.
Anyways with all of this being said..If your batter drain issue persists with restoring your device as new in itunes...that would prove a hardware failure.
If the issue goes away after you restore as new. that means that something within your back up was the source of the issue.
The other common thread here is that you keep restoring from your back up.
Anyways I hope this helps you

  • Brand new iPhone 6 battery life dropping very fast and charging even faster

my brand new iPhone 6 that I have just recently started using the day before has a surprisingly bad battery life. whrn first turning on the phone to use the battery life only last 1-2 hours with average use. when the battery died this morning I pluhe'd the phone into charge and the battery is charging very fast already at 25% and only being charging for about 15-20 mins. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this problem and if it is normal or if I have just recieved a faulty iPhone 6?

    Can you check:
    1. What apps show on settings - general - usage - battery usage?
    2. How many apps have permission to use cellular data?

  • HT2188 IPHONE 4S BATTERY RUNNING DOWN QUICKLY

iPhone 4s battery suddenly runs down in under 2 hours of non-active (standby) use.  No idea why, this just started happening a few days ago - no new apps put in to cause this, all location services turned off, no push mail -- have done all the standard checks.  Also, the battery isn't accepting a charge from outlets plugged into the wall (only ones into the computer)--I get the lightning bolt signal at the top right, but the charge simply continues to drop.  Anyone have similar issues?

Take it to an Apple Store to be checked out.

  • My new iphone 5S battery drains very quickly

I just purchased an iphone 5S in January 2014, but the airdrop was not working and the phone was not recognizable to anyone else. Other than that it was great. I took it to the Apple store and they determined that it was some sort of bug and unfixable so they gave me a "new" iphone 5S.  airdrop worked immediately and I was on my way.  This "new" phone seems to start draining the battery as soon as I take it off the charger.  I use it for 5 minutes , check email, write a quick email, and 5% is gone immediately.  It drains much faster than my first phone.  Is there anything I can do or reset to fix this issue.  Rarely does my phone's battery last the entire day and I am not a heavy iphone user.

  • Satellite R20 Tablet - Fan noisy, battery runs out quickly

I observed a problem on my R20 Tablet - no matter how I play around with the power management control the Fan is always on and practically all the time in rather high gear. Even if I set the power management profile to long life the fan spins down but at the moment I start doing anything (Even minimizing an open application window) it comes back to high speed.
The noise of the fan is annoying but what is worse is the battery life which is reduced to 2 h 20 min. at the most. I've had lately an opportunity to work on a new Satellite M100 model and none of these problems existed on that machine. With similar hardware (Core Duo, Intel Graphics, same LCD size (14" widescreen) ) it was quiet and the battery lasted for over 4 hours.
Does anybody else experience similar problems?

Thank you very much for your replies.
I am fully aware of the fact that the fan speed and battery life depend on the usage. I have tried to compare my R20 with my friends' M100. On both laptops I ran Windows and Linux, and the comparison was done under Linux. These laptops have very similar specs: R20: Core Duo 2GHz, 1GB RAM, Intel 945 Graphics, 14,1 Wide screen 1440x900, 4700 mAh battery. This M100: Core Duo 1,66 GHz, 512 RAM, Intel 945 Graphics, 14,1 Wide screen 1280x800, 4000 or 4400 mAh battery (I am not sure which exactly).
Because the systems have different CPU speed I set the power management settings to run them at their lowest speed - in both cases it is 1GHz. This way the differences became even smaller. I've also installed a little application, that monitors and display CPU temperature and speed on the panel, so I could observe these values all the time. I haven't watched any movies or even didn't listen to music, I've just worked with desktop applications such as email client, web-browser, a word processor ...
The result was, that my R20 never stopped the fan completely, and practically all the time (when the CPU got over 33 degrees) the fan operated in higher gear making a lot of noise. On the M100 the fan only turned on from time to time, so most of the time this notebook was totally quiet. And of course the battery life results were 2,5 versus 4,5 hours. I can't really find a difference in hardware that could justify such a large difference in battery life.
I've also noticed that the the holes for letting air in for cooling are much different on both laptops. The M100 has got a nice grill to let the air in to the fan, and my R20 has got only very small holes, which on top of that were covered by a sticker saying: "Caution ...Hot" as I purchased this laptop.
I hope this problem is really only a question of the firmware and there is going to be a new BIOS update to fix it.

  • Battery runs out very quicky in iOS 4.0.1

    Hello dear supporters.
i'm new here (thats my first messege :)) but i do know a thing or 2 about using the iphone.
(i support all day long in an israeli support forum.)
But I do have a problem:
I've updated to iOS 4.0.1 and since then, the battery runs out so quickly, even in stand by mode i lose about 20% in 3-4 hours.
when i serf on safari and app store, wifi or 3G, i lose like 15% in 30-60 minutes or so.
the same thing when i talk on the phone, listen to music, play games etc.
i've talked to some other guys, they were on 4.0.1 and they downgraded to 4.0 but they still have the same battery problems just like i have. the same problems.
in the other hand, guys who are on 4.0 and didn't update, don't suffer from any battery problems what so ever...
    my question is this:
is there any problem in 4.0.1 that leaves a "mark" on the iphone that makes the battery get a little bit hot and run out quickly?
    is there any good solution?
iphone 3GS's, some are jailbroken and some are not...

Me and my friend came to a conclusion and we think that there's a bug in 4.0.1 that makes the modem work 300% harder and therefor the battery runs out quickly, and as you know, modem cannot be downgraded, and yet there's no new modem. So every one who updated to 4.0.1 even for 1 minute is stuck right now with a modem that uses the battery in a bad way.
(maybe it's connected to the signal appearance update in 4.0.1...)
What do you all think people?

They do not repair .Apple exchange and all returned units are refurbished at The Apple plants in China
So you get a device that looks like and functions like new
