Brand new Iphone 4S will not make any sound unless head phones or dock is used.

I have tried multiple resets, checked all the settings and the slider switch on the side. I didn't notice there was no sound until I got home from the store with it.
Any ideas or do I just new to return it?

Contact are designed to be synced to a supported app on the computer or a cloud service.
All media should be in iTunes on the computer the device is synced with.
Had you not synced the previous phone with iTunes prior to taking it to Apple?

My iPhone will not make any sound. No ringers, alerts, or even music from my library! I did a reset of all settings thinking it would fix the problem, however all that did was lose my Siri! Very frustrated. All the settings in my phone are correct, and the side button is in the up position. I am able to talk on the phone with no problems, but my speaker phone will not work. Its almost as if my speaker wont make noise?

At least I'm not the only one with the issue. I was looking it up so see if others had the same problem and found a bunch of posts about it. I'm assuming it's not the phone then, it's the software. Should I bring it to the Apple Store? Replacing the phone seems stupid, because the phone isn't really the problem. It's the software! Maybe the iOS 5.0.2 will fix it??? I don't really want to wait though, it's a pain. If a lot of people have this issue it should get Apple's attention. They need to do something to fix it, ASAP!

Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

Check the Mute switch, which is on the left side of the phone above the volume buttons.

Brand new iPhone 5s will not turn on

I purchased a brand new iPhone 5s for my daughter and when we went to turn it on this morning, it would not turn on. I charged the phone, in case that was the issue but still nothing but a black screen. I connected to itunes and tried to restore the iPhone features, it recognized that it was an iphone but gave me an error 40 and the apple logo and progress bar was only visible. Once I diconnected from itunes, the screen went blank again. I also made sure that our iMac updates were completely up to date and that there were no security settings blocking its use, but still no luck.
Any suggestions?

Check for hardware issues
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

Brand new iPhone 4 can not make calls network says extended

Me and my husband bought brand new iPhone 4 on Saturday at Walmart through straight talk. Since Monday his phone is unable to make phone calls his network did say TFW but since then it just says extended. He can recieve calls and texts and can text off his phone with a time delay. Any idea how to fix it

Brand New Iphone 5 will not power on

Activating my new phone and it will not power on. called the service provider for customer support and they said to charge for a few hours. I can not see where on the phone it indicates its charging as there seems to be nothing lit up. I have never had an Iphone so i'm pretty lost here. My Droid Bionic has a flashing indicator so even when totally dead it will flash when plugged in. Any help would be great!

Plug the phone back into the wall charger wait 5 minutes and then hit the sleep button on top of the iphone. IF that doesn't power it up then hold down the sleep/home button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

Just pulled my new iPhone 4s out of the box, attempted to pair it with my Flexsmart x2. No dice. The iPhone will discover other devices, but not the X2, and the X2 discovered my iPhone 3GS just fine 10 minutes prior. The X2 pairs with other devices successfully, so does the iPhone. Running iOS 7.1 (11D167) and running firmware 5.2.00

Don't bother with imanog's suggestion if you have a top-loading washer.
Jeez, it's like Apple doesn't even care about anyone who uses a washing machine more than two years old.
Just because you use front-loaders doesn't mean everyone does. It's like they're deliberately trying to spite a large number of users, just because our machines aren't the newest and most efficient!

Brand new iPhone 4 will not turn on...

I decided to get rid of my Tilt and go to an iPhone 4. Everthing was great for two days. I love the phone. However, I got off of a call and put the phone down. Picked it up about 20 mins later and it will not turn on. The phone has not been damaged in any way water or otherwise.
Thinking the phone is turned off,I have tried holding down the home button and the off button on the upper right hand side of the phone.
I am new to apple products. Is the phone simply turned off and I just don't know how to turn it on or is it broken?
If it is broken, I'm not that concerned because I know that the Apple store where I bought will replace it. I just don't want to drive out there and find out I just have the phone turned off.

I tried the charger for about 15 mins before I had to go and the phone would still not power on.
I held the two buttons down and the Apple symbol did come on and the phone is now on and apparently working. It showed the battery empty. The weird thing is that when I got off the call before the phone quit working, the battery meter said over 50%. I only have a couple of apps on the phone besides what it came with. Incidentally, I am still running 4.01. I haven't had time to upgrade.
Would it be normal for the battery to just drop to zero like that?
How often should I reset my iPhone by holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons.

Brand new iPhone 6 will not turn on

Just out of the box, turned it on, set it up on wifi successfully, then plugged it in overnight. This morning it will not respond at all, does not power up. I am currently in Italy (it is an unlocked phone ordered from Apple US), so I cannot just head for the nearest Apple Store with it.

I just got a new white iphone 4. When I try to take a video using the camera app, there is only a muffled sound. I never had this problem with my old iphone. There is a good possibility that your trimming of the SIM card could have damaged it some way. If the SIM was working in the old phone, then you cut it and the first new phone didn't work and now this phone doesn't work, it leads me to believe it has to do with the SIM card or the account. You are sure there is no problem with the account. Did you check with the provider when you got the iPhone 4 to make sure there was no problem with the account when you could not send or receive SMS? Why can't you just get a micro-sim? The iPhone should have come with one when you purchased it.The iPhone 4 is designed for a micro-sim. I don't believe this is a hardware problem unless the phone has been hacked or modified in some manner.

Before replying, i have checked to make sure all settings were correct. They are correct, it is not working. I noticed this after the iOS8.0.2 update. Anyone else with this issue?

Brand new iPhone 4S will not synch with iTunes

Just opened the box would not see the phone. I had taken it to AT&T to get it activated. All well. Works fine and sound great. Can't wait to get it all set up.
Trying to synch with iTunes would not see the phone. Since I still have the old phone I hooked it up too. It would not recognize that one either. So....
I decided to look on line. Seems like other folks are also seeing this issue. Some are deleting iTunes and the accessory files and the reinstalling. This seems to work for most folks that I read about. So I tried it. Cant get iTunes deleted. iTunes helper is "being used". I've turned it off in the system preferences and can't find any file anywhere. I pretty much have to continue down this path now.
So I suspect if I can get this deleted and then reinstall I should be in pretty good shape.
Please help me find what ever is preventing me from completing the deletion.

If you are using Windows, open a Command window with Administrator privilege and type the following:
netsh winsock reset
Then reboot and try it again. If you have a Mac or the above doesn't solve it you have a corrupt backup; delete it by going to iTunes Preferences, Devices tab.
