Brand New IPS, I cannot "login"

Hi,
I have just purchased a brand new IPS module for my ASA5510.
However, I am unable to login and cannot get started .... I see this error "Authentication token manipulation error"
see below:

I have ensured my "new" password is more than eight characters in length and a non-dictionary word.
Is this a problem with the IPS linux system ?
Any help really appreciated.

Did you type new password there?? it seems you haven't followed on screen instructions.

Same setup, some brand new emacs refuse to login

OSX server 10.4.7, OD master, file serving only. I have 11 emacs (10.4.7)to set up for teachers. The teachers already have accounts and home directories, and have been using them successfully for quite some time, logging in from our computer lab (10.3.9) clients. I go through the setup screens, and can successfully see the network, connect to server while logged in locally, and get on internet, but when I add server to ldap in directory access - as I have before on identical machines - all looks correct, but when I try to login as a network user (doesn't matter which one) I get the dreaded 'you cannot login at this time. The home folder for this account is located on an AFP or SMB server" The weird thing is that I have successfully set up 3 identical machines (new emacs) and they login fine. 4 (so far) won't, and I cannot find any differences between the setups. I have tried adding server using FQDN, adding using IP address, removing various cache files, preference files, re-boots, etc. from searces of forums for this problem. Nothing has helped. I cannot track this down to a software update on the server (recently updated to 10.4.7, and security patch) because some work fine, some don't. Another post said to run the command 'hostname' in terminal, and make sure it was the FQDN of the server. IT IS NOT - the command hostname returns the name of the computer - but I don't know what to do to fix it. on the affected emacs, in terminal, 'hostname' returns computer name, eg "mrs-smiths-emac" on good emacs, 'hostname' returns computer name.local, eg "mrs-jones-emac.local"

As far as I know the TV 40TL963B supports an common USB 2.0 HS interface and the USB memory flash can be formatted in FAT16 or FAT32 files system. So there are no special requirements to the USB flash memory

Brand new macbook pro cannot connect to wireless networks

The first time I called apple tech, they thought it was a problem with my internet provider. I've called 4 times now, and I'm still getting the runaround.
I have an old (2001) G4 sitting right next to my macbook pro which can see numerous wireless networks and connect to them all. A strong connection at that. However, my brand new (refurbished) Macbook Pro Intel etc,.... supposedly best computer ever made, . . . . can see the same wireless networks but has never been able to connect. As a student, I saved for a year to buy this notebook so I could work at cafe's & study with my friends. My friends with PC's can all connect to these wireless networks. My friends with older, less expensive notebooks can connect no problem. I have never been able to connect. Bought this peice of junk 2 1/2 months ago - only because I didn't want to be stuck at home anymore with my desktop. Stupid me to trust apple.
I wish I could get my $ back, but I'm now being told that it's 30 days too late. Before they told me it was a minor thing and some software update could fix it. I did as told. downloaded and installed their 10.4.8 thingy - deleted all the keychain stuff - nothing. same peice of junk.
Now they are telling me to go back to the genius bar where folks are just rude to me and tell me they can't help me becuase I bought a "refurbished" model that didn't even save me $25. What do you know.
Anyone having problems like this? Anyone out there who can help me?

I apologie for calling it a peice of junk. I know you all probably worship this machine. I'm just really frustrated. I noticed that this is a very common problem - though most of the posts identical to mine have dissapeared from apple.com - this well known defect is all over other discussion boards and websites like macdefect, etc,....
So, can any of you tech gods help me with this very well known, common problem that I haven't been able to fix with 10.4.8 upgrade?

Trying to charge up brand new ipad2 via USB. it directed me into iTunes and copies my playlist but will not load onto ipad. Also will not allow me to restore factory settings. error 4005 showing. can anyone assist me please?

Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the iPhone is not recognized in iTunes. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

Brand New MacBook Pro Cannot Connect to Airport Express

Hi all,
Been reading through these pages and I think there are many others with the same problem as me but with no real answer, I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask anyway.
I have an Airport Express which I bought a couple of years ago. It initially worked fine on my old MacBook, I moved house and then it stopped working (flashing amber light syndrome). I got so fed up with it that it has been languishing in the loft ever since.
After a brief stint with a Windows laptop I decided it was time to return to Apple, and I haven't regretted it for a second.....until I got the Airport Express from the loft!
It simply, fundamentally and irrevocably...doesn't work! It's plugged in, amber light flashes but my nice new MacBook Pro just doesn't even recognise it exists. I have tried running the setup utility but at the first screen I am told that no unit is detected, I'm then told to check my Airport card (I assume it means the inbuilt modem which clearly works as I am writing to you guys now!). I can't even progress with the setup after this.
I have tried each of the Airport setup utilities to no avail (lap top cannot "see" AX).
Just as an update, I just connected my AX to my wireless router with an ethernet cable, a new network called 6ad16d appears to be available. Airtunes then works and I can connect to the internet (albeit slowly). I am not happy with this arrangement though as there is no padlock next to the new Apple network so I am worried that it isn't secure and surely I should be able to just plug my AX into the main and my hifi and it should work anyway?....just like it used to!
My apologies for the rambling post and please excuse my lack of computer knowledge. I really hope someone can help!

Fixed! You jut need a girlfriend with a lot of determination....not even sure she knows how she did it. Involved a lot of menus and a lot of swearing.
Surely this should be easier?!

Create new domain but cannot login

I'm using Directory Server 5.2, Messaging Server 5.2, IDA 45
I installed Messaging Server and I'm using domain itc.my, then I created several accounts under the new domain and it worked fine..I can login, sent and receive emails..then I decided to create a new domain, stud.itc.my using the command imadmin domain create...
imadmin domain create -D serviceadmin -d stud.itc.my -H mailhost.itc.my -n itc.my -w xxxx
I managed to create the domain....then I add several new user accounts under the new domain using the IDA...when I try to login Messaging Server using the new accounts, it's give error message
Invalid username or password
What steps did I miss to create a new domain?

for any domains other than the "default domain", your login must include the domain:
userid@domain
instead of
userid

I am using Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit on a brand new PC, and cannot connect to the iTunes store using iTunes version 10. HELP!!

Ok, so after purchasing a new computer, with windows 7 pro, 64 bit, I tried downloading the newest iTunes, which at the time was 10.2.1 (i believe). After installation, everything seemed to work, except that iTunes was unable to securely connect to the internet, use home sharing, or validate my computer.
As troubleshooting, I first ran msconfig, and then turned OFF all programs that boot at start up EXCEPT itunes and quicktime. After a restart, i opened itunes again, and got the same result. That led me to believe that iTunes was NOT being blocked by another program on my machine. I am currently running itunes 10.7 successfully on a Windows 7 32 machine at work. Anyhow, for grins, I tried to install version 9 on the new computer, and it installed perfectly, and immediately connected to the itunes store, leading me to believe that there is nothing wrong with my software configuration (not sure if this is a safe assumption or not). I then tried to let iTunes update itself using the automated update function. It tried to update itself to the most current version, then 10.6. Again, iTunes was unable to connect to the iTunes store. I HAVE tried disabling the anti-virus software (AVG), but that made no difference.
I have since gone back and reinstalled iTunes 9. Here's the catch though. When I reinstalled using version 9, I had to redo all my library files. I'm about 1/2 way through my CD's, and now have a substantial library file going. The last time I let iTunes update itself to 10.6, once I realized that it was not going to connect to the store, I uninstalled iTunes, and reinstalled ver. 9. However, when I did this, it told me it could no longer open the library file, because it was a newer .itl or .xml (i believe it was one of those two extensions) library file. At that point, I basically started everything over again, using version 9, and have been importing CD's like a madman at night.
Here are my questions:
1) Is there a way to make a copy of the files that store my library info, so that if my upgrade to ver 10 IS NOT SUCCESSFUL, I can restore ver 9, but still have all of the album art work, playlists (when I import music, I create a playlist with the artists' name, and store things that way), etc. in tact?
2) What else can I try (firewall settings, internet options, etc.) to try and get version to to successfully install? I would really like to get all the benfits of the newer versions.
3) When I tried to get apple tech support before, they wanted me to pay a ridiculous 69$ fee for phone support. I just bought an iphone 5....this should entitle me to a fresh 90 days of phone support, right? The reason I ask here is that I could hardly understand the "tech" that answered the phone when I called for tech support last time, and to be honest, it really ****** me off that they wanted to try and milk me for another 69 bucks....I've purchased every iPhone since the 3Gs came out (pre-ordered at that), and have nearly gone broke purchasing music from their iTunes store....heck, maybe they're doing me me a favor not letting me into the store, huh?

Brand new 5th generation cannot paly a song to the end, but jumps ...

just purchased a new 5th generation ( the previous one got stolen ); I put all 35 GB of music on it. It played very well 1 evening, but today it jumps from 1 part of a song to another, even not playing the song it shows it is playing ... any idea what went wrong ??? Brand New Airport Extreme Doesn't Wake the iMac

I have been having MASSIVE problems with Back To My Mac, so I figured the Airport Extreme was the problem, since it was two years old. I replaced it with a brand new one. Now I have two problems: Back To My Mac still doesn't work, and the brand new Airport Extreme cannot wake the iMac.
The iMac has "wake on network access" enabled. The two-year-old Airport Extreme was able to wake the iMac.
What do I need to do to enable this feature on the new Airport Extreme?

No, that doesn't address the problem. The two-year-old Airport Extreme could wake the iMac with either a wireless or an ethernet connection. According to Apple's documentation, if the preferences say "wake on network access" it means both should work, and they used to.
The brand-new Airport Extreme cannot wake the iMac at all. When I installed it, I used the new Airport Utility to copy the settings from the old one. Could it be that some setting necessary for waking the iMac was set incorrectly by this process? If so, how do I correct it?

If it's an Intel Mac, you can upgrade it to Mac OS X 10.6.8.

Cannot login to new imac

I have just received new imac. Migrated from time capsule to new imac. All seemed okay but now cannot login to any previous accounts. The password hints tell me that i am using the correct password, but no success. Have restarted computer a couple of times (when in doubt....), but still cannot get past login page. The imac did not come with a cd. Any suggestions?

I think they're open until Sundays but I'm not positive. Also if you have an Apple Store in your area then drop by and speak to a Genius, they'll help you out!
