Brand new lenovo u400 keeps freezing
I just received a brand new u400 two days ago. Yesterday I tried installing a few programs like firefox, avast, adobe but then after two hours it would just keep freezing. I couldn't use ctrl alt del so I had to turn it off. Then it would work in safe mode but not in regular mode.
So I rebooted the whole system and started all over again this morning. So this morning I just decided to install avast and run the virus scanner. No viruses picked up so I shut it down. When I powered it up again and I would enter my password, it would freeze on the welcome screen. Nothing happened for about 8 minutes. The circle just kept spinning with no sign of actually getting onto my desktop. Now i've been able to get past the welcome screen but now it just keeps freezing on the desktop. If I click avast, the laptop will just freeze.
Should I call technical support or has this happened to someone else?
edit: now it keeps freezing on the welcome screen again. I can't even get past the login phase...

Your system is possibly infected with malware.
Please go into Safe mode,choose safe mode with networking
and then go here http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/
run a scan,checkmark all appropriate boxes,including 'check archives,
click on advanced settings and checkmark ''scan for pottentialy unsafe apps
and disable your antivirus just before you run Start
and re-enable it afterwards.The scanner will give you the option to delete anything it finds at the end.
Please do that.and if it does find malware,let us know.
İt appears to me,from what you wrote that your security may not be very effective.
That can be dealt with later.the malware forum wiill be the place to go to.

Brand New MacBook Pro keeps freezing
I have had my brand new MacBook Pro for about four months now and out of the blue, it will freeze up for about a minute or so randomly with no warning. I have run Disk Utility already along with restarting it, but it still freezes. Any ideas on to what is causing it?

DaveImpossible to say without any information. You may want to keep Activity Monitor open (Applications-Utilities-Activity Monitor) and see if there is anything that uses a lot of % CPU and/or RAM. Check to see how much free RAM you have, if it's below 500MB that could be a problem, it simply means you are using all the available RAM.
Your machine is covered by the warranty too, so you may want to visit your local Apple Store and have a Genius look it over.
BTW when posting a problem, please let us know exactly what you are doing when the problem occurs, including what apps, version numbers etc. and specifics about your computer. Something like, "Yesterday afternoon and this morning while using Excel (Office 2011) on my 2010 15" MBP with 4GB RAM and 500GB HD my system......" That way we have the who, what and when.

My brand new mac pro keeps freezing
Hi, i have recently just bought a Mac Pro from the apple store, i have only had it about a week and half.
whenever i am using the computer, it keeps freezing on me everything stops working apart from the mouse, at first i thought it might because i have too many programmes open but it happens even when I'm doing a simple task, most of the time it takes 2-3 minutes till it kicks back in and starts working but sometimes i have to turn the mac off by the power button as it takes so long. would be great if someone could help me, as i said its brand new so something like this should not be happening.

Brand new Mac Book keeps freezing!!!
I got the new mac book pro 15 inch 7 days ago, and if i go on youtube or skype or have video's up my computer stops working, the mouse becomes unresponsive, the keys become unresponsive and the only thing i can do is shut the computer down. when i close it it takes a while of holding down to close and when i open i i hear a loud spinning sound coming from the computer. If anyone can help me that would be great because now i regret buying this one when my previous 2008 model never had this happen in 4 years, while with this mac book it has happened 4 times in the past 5 days... 2 times just now within the previous 40 minutes.
what browser are you using for youtube?
there is also an issue with Skype. when you have Skype running in the background, open activity monitor and you'll see Skype using 90% and up while on idle. downgrade your skype to the previous version.
if you're using chrome, uninstall it until a fix has been issued.
open up activity monitor and under all process, see what's using up most of your cpu's resources. highlight the ones using 10% and higher on your CPU and hit quit process.
check your login items - delete the ones you don't need to start up.
now, check your disk permissions and repair if needed.
after you've done all those, restart your macbook and see if that stops the freezing issues you've been having...

Brand new 15 inch keeps freezing
less than one day old, it's frozen 2 times
Either describe what you were doing in as much detail as possible, or return the MBP to the Apple store for examination, exchange or refund. You are in the 14 day 'no questions asked' time frame.

Brand new imac 27" keeps crashing. I'm running 10.9.2 with all software up to date. It will crash on file tranfers to/from/between external drives, web browsing, word processing, video editing, and even while idling. It used to crash every 15 minutes when I first got it but I reformatted and reinstalled all software. Now it it still crashing albeit less often. This is extremely frustrating because I have no idea what I can do to prevent it from happening!
Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.Hmm thanks for the input. Alright. I uninstalled Avast. Was good for an hour or so. I was doing some file browsing and crashed again. Got this message.

BRAND NEW LENOVO K300 5316 1BU (WON'T BOOT FROM DVD SUPERJULTI DRIVE/CD-WRITER
Would appreciate info from the Lenovo Community as to what might be the problem and a fix.
I just received my new Lenovo K300 5316 1BU. As one of the first tasks I made a Lenovo Repair Disc.
To test my disc I rebooted my computer with disc in drive. During reboot I pressed F12 to get to the proper menu.
I chose the cd/dvd drive as the first boot option. It showed that the drive was recognized stating Boot Priority but then went directly into my Windows 7 deskop.
I called Tech Support and tried everything with them with the same results.
They instructed me to do a complete System Restore to see if that corrects the problem.
I have not done this yet since I will do a backup of my present setup, not to loose all my hard work and time setting up all my programs and settings.
Before I do a complete system restore I would appreciate any comments or suggestions from the community regarding this situation.
Do you also believe that doing a full system restore will help or should I send this computer back?
I do find it hard to believe that a computer less than a week old would have this problem with the DVD Supermulti Drive /CD writer.
If I still have no success after a full restore or a resolve from the Lenovo IdeaCentre Community then I will return this computer back to TigerDirect.
To conclude I would like to mention the following regarding this brand new Lenovo K300 5316 1BU top of the line desktop computer.
One of the reasons I purchased this particular desktop was because of the Lenovo Windows 7 ENHANCED operating system that Lenovo has been advertising so much.
To my surprise and disappointment, this BRAND NEW Lenovo Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit does not have the Enhance version, it is Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit only.
Apparently, Lenovo is making some with Enhanced and some without.
Finally, another reason I purchased the 1BU version is because it has a TV Tuner.
To my surprise again, the TV Tuner card in this model does not have an FM Tuner, which almost all TV Tuner Cards have. So, as a result, no FM Radio with Windows 7 Media Center.

Some third-party drives won't boot by holding down the C key at startup, because they lack the Apple/OEM drive's ROM programming. I recently installed a Memorex (manufactured by LG) DVD burner in a B&W G3, which is recognized by Toast and (with PatchBurn) the iApps. The compatibility problem occurs when selecting a CD/DVD as the startup disk using the Startup Disk Preferences/control panel or by holding down the C key during the restart. In either case, the drive ejects the disk during the POST, so that I have to immediately close the tray and hold down the C key again, to persuade it to boot from the disk. Is this similar to what you're experiencing?

I've just purchased photoshop CS6 Extended mailed to me on a stick. Trying to install it in a brand new Lenovo desk top but nothing happens.Do I need something additional from microsoft if so were do I obtain it and what is it? Drivers?
copy the installation files to a new desktop folder and install from your desktop folder.

It's not been even a day since I've got it, and it's already frozen 3 times, while I was *just browsing* on the internet!
This is INSANE! My old MacBookPro (bought in Dec'10) might have frozen at max 3 times in 3 years!
Could someone please throw some light on the possible reasons?You have 14 days to return the computer w/no questions asked. Plus you have 90 days of FREE phone tech support on top of your standard 1 year warranty unless you also purchased AppleCare which gives you an additional 2 years of coverage plus FREE phone support.
Strongly suggest that you take FULL advantage of the above before it runs out. Let Apple deal w/the problems. -
Brand new macbook pro keeper keeps freezing

I got a brand new macbook pro less than a week ago and already it is acting up. It keeps making these clicking sounds that seem to originate from the top right corner of the keyboard (where the power button is). Also, I'm constantly getting the spinning rainbow wheel, even though the only applications I have open are pages and safari. When the spinning wheel starts, I can't even access force quit. I tried rebooting my computer but things are still freezing (even now I'm getting the wheel every couple of words that I type). This is all very frustrating. I feel like this shouldn't be happening, especially based on how much I paid for this computer. I also tried running the 'verify disk permissions' in disk utility and it came up with a bunch of problems (I don't know if that's normal or not)

Help! Brand New Lenovo A10-70 - Issue Downloading Apps
Hi Lenovo Community,
I just purchased a brand new A10-70 tablet and while I love the price and features, there appears to be on major issue. Whenever I try to download game apps from Google Playstore, the pad errors out and tells me "Application Could Not Load to SD Card", heck I don't even have an SD card installed.
This is actually the second tablet doing this to me. I took the first one back and exchanged it thinking that there was a software glitch but it now appears it is a platform issue.
Games such as Minecraft PE simply will not load while others appear to load fine but then when you go to open the app and use it, you get a notice that the app is not installed.
I have other tablets from Samsung, HP and even Nabi which have never had issues downloading game application.
What's up with Lenovo?
I am willing to try to get corrected but cannot wait long, will take back and get another Samsung.

I just bought a brand new iPhone 5 (White and Gold) and have been having trouble keeping it connected to my BlueTooth Stereo. The stereo was purchased brand new back in September and is current on all software. Before I had my iPhone 5, I had the iPhone 4 and had no troubles with it connecting or remembering to connect to the stereo when it was in range. Now, in order to connect to it, I have to first "forget the device" then search for it again, find it, and connect. As soon as I turn either the stereo off, turn the iPhone off, or switch modes on the stereo (to CD mode, radio, etc) it loses the connection and does not pick it up again. It still shows up in my list of available bluetooth devices, but when I try to connect it says "Connection Unsuccessful: Make sure '____' is turned on and in range" which of course, it is.
I bought this stereo because I am a music teacher and use my phone frequently when teaching my classes. You can probably imagine how cumbersome it becomes when after each class if I have alternated between using my iPhone to play music or switching to CD mode, I then need to "forget the device" and follow the steps I outlined above to get it working again.
Has anyone else had this problem with the new iPhone and does anyone have a solution (I HOPE!!!!!)

I have recently purchased a new macbook air. I used the migration software to transfer everything from my old macbook to the new one. I had lots of crap on the computer, so went through and deleted lots of applications and documents from the new macbook air. Now I've gone to use safari and it keeps freezing once I leave the home page, or one click afterwards.
I'm worried I accidentally deleted something I need to run safari. I followed the instructions on the support website to check my "library" for internet plug-ins etc, but there wasn't anything in those folders.
Any ideas on how to fix this or how to check what I need to run safari properly are most appreciated!Please read this whole message before doing anything.

Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2. -
My brand new Mac ProBook keeps asking for an admin password to download Adobe Flash Player
My brand new Mac ProBook (OSX Mavericks 10.9.4) keeps asking for an admin password to download Adobe Flash Player and also when I try to set up adding my printer. The problem is that when I initially set up this new laptop--I opted to not have any password upon login. So what is my admin password that it keeps requesting??--that "I" did not create??
I have heard that Adobe Flash Player and Apple OS & iOS do NOT care much for each other.
Now half of Youtube videos would NOT play and many websites would NOT show on my Mac computer.
This is absolutely rediculous!
Because of the unfair monopoly, I have switched from Microsoft Windows PC to Apple Mac system a few years ago.
Is it a MUST and worthy for corporations to compete each other by screwing up customers like this?

I think I will delay the idea of buying any more OS or iOS products until I can easily watch all the Youtube videos and browse all the websites! -
Brand new MacBook Pro keeps crashing Pro Tools 10
I have a brand new Mac Book Pro (1month old) running Pro Tools 10. It was working perfectly until yesterday. Now when i open up Pro Tools and try to insert Virtual Instruments plug-ins onto a track the software crashes. I find this so strange because i had been using it for every day last 20 days with no problems at all and then suddenly it starts to crash every other second.
I'm running Mac OS X 10.7.4 on MacBook Pro 15' i7 16gb ram. I upgraded my RAM two weeks ago so i don't think that's the problem.. I've runned ''remember'' test on my RAM and it passed it.
I have already posted on dedicated Pro Tools forums about this issue but i thought i could just as well put this here since many of the users here know so much about these kind of matters.
Every time Pro Tools crashes it leaves me error code.. I uploaded it on Dropbox for anyone who wants to look at it :

hard drive:Library:Audio:Plug-Ins:Components
and
hard drive:Library:Application Support:ProMediaIO:Components
I'd look through the Application support folder and see what you find, also if Pro Tools has a folder look in that, check any audio folder (search for "audio" without the quotes)
