Brand new out of box and see there is a blemish to metal back

I have the 32g ipad 2 which is an xmas gift, get it straight out of thr box and see the mark- i know they are around 500pound so im annoyed that there is a black blemish to back! Thought apple wod have better quality control - will they replace it for me? Many thanks

What is the worst that they can tell you - no - so it is worth a try.
Try not to feel guilty - that is your feeling - the people that gave it you would probably want you to have a perfect one as that is what they expected out of the box.

My brand new out the box airport extreme won't let anything connect to it.

My brand new out the box 5th gen (2013) airport extreme won't let anything connect to it. I've tried several setups from sratch by the book. multiple resets and restores still nothing. It just keeps telling mt that the password is in correct even though it is 100% right.
My curren set up is as follows. Phone Line -> ADSL2+ router -> Airport extreme. There is also an old airport express running of the router, this was done because the airport extremem was failing to work.
Trying to connect:
2x iPhone 4s
2x macbook air
2x Mac Pro.

You will want the Extreme to be in bridge mode if it is currently disabled. (see image below)
This will allow the ADSL2+ router to perform two important functions for your entire network: 1) Provide both the DHCP & NAT services, and 2) Provide PPPoE support to allow access to your ADSL ISPs network.
If the Extreme is left in its default state, a router, it will conflict with the first item and you will have want is known as a "double NAT" condition. Something you will want to avoid.

I don't know enough to not follow directions. I bought the software brand new in a sealed from factory box. Had it sitting around until - last week when I deleted flash on my computer and had to upgrade to the new OSX. Mountain Lion doesn't use iPhoto - so I had to go with something else. Since I already had this new - unopened package I opened it up. Shut down all running programs - inserted the disk and followed all the directions for installation. Still it didn't work.
I have now uninstalled it (the proper way) and am going to try again.
I appreciate your responses.

Brand New Out Of Box Satellite C655-S5307 Will not turn on , black screen

A Toshiba 655-5307 laptop for my sis for Christmas.
She said she charged the thing overnight and went to turn it on, the green led power light came on I heard fans come on, black screen then shutdown.
I got this laptop 1300 miles away while I was working out of state thought it would be a great gift.
Please tell me this is a minor problem and easy to fix

try to keep turning the laptop on while it has a charge and is unplugged until the battery completely dies and leave it to sit for 5 days unplugged but with the battery inserted. Dont touch it or try to turn it on while it sits and the batt loses its charge. Then plug it in and see the orange charging light. immediately hit the power button. The pc may try to boot and fail, but it might actually boot for real! mine did. I have seen this problem in this particular model posted all around the internet. But it seems to turn on only if the battery is completely dead. hmm.

New Out of Box and Frozen Right away, Any help please?

Hi everyone, as I have read around here I am not the first to have this kind of a problem:
I opened my ipod box about a hour ago and loved what I saw, a nice new sleek Ipod in black color. (30g 5thG). I ran downstairs, installed the new software, and plugged in my ipod. It immideatly froze. I have been working on it like nuts for the past hour, looking for tech help and such, but all I could find was
"Press the central button and the play button for 6-10 seconds" and things like that.
The problem is my ipod has FROZEN at the main menu screen, it won't turn off, won't change folders, won't respond. I left it idle for about 10 minutes and still nothing. What is going on here? I dont want to use my 1 and only free tech support on something like this, expecally because I just freaken got the thing.

I have the same exact problem! I'm stting here and I don't know how to get it to turn off, or to connect properly with my computer.

Brand New Out of Box - NO SOUND!

Started up one of these yesterday at an office - no problem with sound and didn't have to do anything special to start sound that I remember. Now starting up this one at home. Speaker icon on start bar is active and currently set at 77%. To Control Panel and Sounds - shows Device as RealTek speakers with green check mark - and Sound Mixer shows both Devices - Speakers - and Applications - Sounds - as active (not muted) and also set at the 77 mark. Yet when playing videos - whether YouTube or Amazon Prime movie trailer - where THEIR sound levels are active, not muted....NO SOUND! What am I doing wrong??

Brand new out of box hard drive. how to mac format it ?

install disc does nothing but freeze up.

went to mac genius, he installed 10.5 but couldn't get it to boot up, said it wasn't optical drive issue but probably logic board. he couldn't get it to even start up.
I get home and have gotten it to start up with install dvd ( holding c key)but when I go to utilities click repair it says in red letters that there is no packages. just attempted start up on its own and I get the grey apple with the gears, gear spins for about 10 sec then freeze.
what is pakages, in red ?

Had the same problem with setting the country up as it was in the middle scrolled it up or down the screen it was selectable but any other country in the middle was also unresponsive
have powered down a few times and still the same lucky we have an Apple store nearby cant do a reset either as I cant get far enough into the setup to get connected to my pc!!

Make sure iPad's battery is charged above 20% (we would recommend at least 50 - 60 %). If you are not sure charge you tablet for at least 40 minutes.
Make sure your Apple tablet is in Power On state.

Brand New RD240 ThinkServer can not see the LSI 8708EM2 RAID Controller During Bootup

I have a brand new out the box RD240 ThinkServer that can not see the LSI 8708EM2 RAD Controller it came with. This RAID controller simply does not want to function. This RAID Cntroller does not show up during the boot up and I even tried putting in a different slot in the riser card, thinkn maybe it was a bad PCI-e slot, but made no difference. Also the Lenovo Easy Setup software does not find this controller either. So I'm wondering if there is an issue with the RAID Controller or is it a bad Riser card? Does anyone have any idea's on what can be done or what I may be missing?

Trouble with log in after my brand new, out of the box computer, sleeps.

I'm having trouble logging in after my computer sleeps, I cannot directly do so even though my user account option is displayed. I have to "choose another user" and re-choose my user account. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know if it can be fixed?

All has been installed. Those are there in case you need to do a reinstall. Unlike most Windows based hardware vendors these days. Apple still ships software you might need in case a drive fails. Even in the case of the new MacBook Air, Apple ships the software on a flash drive.

You could try charging the iPad as well.

I have just bought a brand new HP laserjet p1102 and a brand new toner cartridge, and within litterally 50 sheets being printed it says I am out of toner.
Please tell me what I must do to get this working again, because clearly I am not out of toner.

Hello , Welcome to the HP Community. I'd like to help you with the installation and printing issues you are having with your HP Laserjet Pro M201dw, on your Windows 8.1 operating system. I can certainly understand your frustration, it seems like you have attempted the install multiple times. First, I'd recommend running the Print and Scan Doctor, to see if it can resolve any errors in the software without having to re-install. If it does prompt you to re-install your software, I would suggest uninstalling all M201dw software from the Programs section of your control panel. Once that's done, do a cleanboot of your computer. You can find instructions to complete the cleanboot here: How to perform a clean boot in Windows Note: This will turn off all non-essential startup items, so if it's another program on your computer that is causing the installation to lag, it should resolve the install issue. Rather than installing from the download or the CD that came with the printer, I'd suggest downloading and running the HP Printer Install Wizard. Plug it in for 15 minutes. If it doesn't come on hold the HOME button (the round one) and the SLEEP button (the one on the top) at the same time until an Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). If nothing appears on the screen after 30 seconds you have a dead phone; take it back for exchange.
