Brandeis U. switched to Gmail; since then I cannot display images in Firefox 3.6.13

Brandeis U. used to have its own email system (bmail), which linked to Firefox flawlessly. Brandeis switched to Gmail recently, which I do not like. After linking Firefox 3.6.13 to the Gmail, I can see my mail as text only, with urls linking to images. I found that in Gmail one has a choice of text only or images. You can chose "Always display images," but you have to do this for each site; however this does not carry over to Firefox. I have not been able to find the equivalent of "Always display images" in Firefox. Is there one? Also, after migrating to Gmail, when displaying old messages which used to show images in bmail, they now show text only.

* Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
* You need an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep that cookie, especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes
* Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and password exceptions.
* Make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) [[Private Browsing]] mode
* You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
* To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting <b>Firefox will: Use custom settings for history</b>
* Uncheck: [ ] "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session"

As mentioned above, when I opened Firefox this morning it installed automatically an update w/o me agreeing and I don't know what was isntalled. Since then I cannot open Firefox. Mozilla Crash Reporter opens and thell me Firefox had a problem and crashed. "We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts.

I press restart Firefox but I always just get the same message. I uninstalled it and downloaded it again, nothing is changing. I urgentlyu need to use the bookmarks as I don't have them in Explorer which I have to use now.

You need "sysinternal's process explorer", it is free and can replace the Microsoft process explorer, that you get by "CTRL+ALT+DELETE". Either program will allow you to kill the instances of FF that didn't die as they should have, when you closed them. Sysinternal is easier to use, it is a graphic display with many options. Do not push "CTRL+ALT+DELETE" twice unless you want to reboot, that is its default behaviour under Microsoft.

You need DVD Player. It should be in your Applications folder. If it is in there go to System Preferences>CDs & DVDs and for "When you insert a video DVD" make sure DVD Player is selected.

It has moved your original Motion 4 app to a new folder, Final Cut Studio I believe. You have to locate that and move all the apps back into your applications folder. You should be able to launch Motion 4, although not at the same time as Motion 5.

You won't be able to change your rescue email address until you can answer your questions, you will have to contact Support in the country where you and your iTunes account to get the questions reset.

I downloaded the latest Adobe Reader when prompted. Since then I cannot use Safari File Print to print web pages - the printer dialogue window opens but the page is blank. Also, when I try to use the safari Help button,the dialogue box is blank.

Back up all data.
Quit Safari. In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then launch Safari and test.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Apologies, I was looking at the wrong schematic for the Apple TV 1. There isn't a button. So lets try this instead...
Remove the power cord and wait 20 seconds.
Plug it back in and let it boot (Give it 10 minutes, it's being tempremental)
Try and navigate to the the advanced menu and do a factory restore
If that doesn't work then if you are using the white remote hold down the menu button for six seconds and release this should bring up a hidden menu which will allow you to access the advanced configuration settings.
Again, if this fails there isn't much to do than tap it with a hammer to see if that fixes it (hard to believe how many times that actually works. (No responsibility taken if it breaks!, but at least you'd have a good reason to buy Apple TV 3)

I removed the ASK tool bars from my computer and since then I keep being told the cookies is either enabled or disabled. I refreshed Firefox and that solved nothing it just erased somethings that I setup on my desktop. I'm not dump but I'm not that well versed in resolving this issue and I don't want to make matters worse.......please help! And thank you so much! One more thing......I can still retrieve my email using Explorer but chose not to because of the lack of support for XP which is what I have. Again Thank You

Good afternoon and thank you John99!... for the reply and advice to my problem the other day. To give some insite to the issue I presented...the ASK toolbar was somehow downloaded onto my laptop and I not knowing that it was as malware and dangerous to my computer at first I left there. I did not like the fact that it was there and how it seemed to take over my setup. Well I looked into it which was fairly easy and found out what I did about Mindspark...not good! I also discovered while trying to solve the problem after receiving you responseto this problem that JAVA ORACLE can carry the Ask toolbar thru their updates. When OKed an update I found it wanting to add the ASK toolbar. I know that in the past I have not allowed other things that carry the ASK toolbar to download this because I liked what I had already setup. Well some where along the way it got downloaded. Anyway...I tried what you had suggested and nothing has changed. I receive email's thru Exployer and bring up my desktop to get onto Mozilla. This is not working!!! I just want to get onto Firefox, click into gmail and anything else I want and use it!..I can assure you that the one thing I cannot do is get into my gmail. It wants to tell my about my cookies...I have pressed all the right buttons and this is not solving anything at all. I was wandering that if I remove Firefox and download it again will this solve the problem. And will I be able to use all the same information or will I find it telling me that someone else already has that email, password, name, etc. because it did not clear everything when I removed Firefox from my computer? You might just have to contact Apple and ask them to remove it (losing it). Usually people clear a balance by buying one song and having the exact remainder charged to their credit card, but if you don't have a US credit card you cannot do that.

Hello, I reformatted my mac to factory settings. Since then I cannot reconnect to my itunes and iphoto libraries stored on an external hard drive. Any suggestions?

I am using an old Imac G5 2.16 GHz intel core 2 duo.
Its 8 years old. I had my iphoto and itunes libraries on an external hard drive. Li
The mac was running slow so I backed up important stuff and then did a factory reset.
Then I did upgrades to snow leopard.
Its now running 10.6.8. Like I was before.
Now that it is all reformatted, I cannot get it to reconnect to my iphoto or itunes libraries.
Any help would be appreciated.

I tried the option key thing when starting both.
For itunes when I select the folder on the external drive it says 'could not locate library file' or something like that.
For iphoto the iphoto library file is there but it is not one I can select (it is greyed out).
Sorry, not sure which versions they are. Am currently re-importing my itunes library so can't check.
iPhoto is not opening today. Yesterday it would.
Both versions would be updated as far as they could go on snow leopard.
