Branding using one image

Hello all,
I have an image/banner which I would like to replace default from SAP. But the image does not maximize full length leaving part of it empty. If I choose the option to repeat and the image become two images combining, which look very ugly. Is there a way where I can use only one image? or do I need to modify the jsp file. If yes, which jsp file do I need to do this?

Thanks for your response. There seems to be two cells in the branding area, even if you maximize the image you still have another cell right next to it. If you look closely at the default images from SAP, they only have one images with repeating branding connecting to each other. If you like, I will send the screenshot for you to take a look at.

Double-Click the image and change the duration to what you need in the resulting window that appears. Well, that's what you would do in iMovie HD! If you have HD then edit it there, and import the clip into 09.

How can you use one image and edit it three different ways to export later?

I am a new Lightroom 3 user. How can use the same image and edit it multiple ways to produce mulitple images to later export? For example, I have a picture of a bride and groom. I want to use that image and create a color image, a black and white image, and a close up of their hands.

Do I need to do either of those options before I start editing the image at all? For example, what if I am working on the image and doing some creative edits. Then I think of another option that I could do. Is it too late at that time or can I still get the original image to begin with?

Using a FW drive to reinstall OSX - can I use one image for all my Macs?

I am setting up an external firewire drive to allow me to reinstall from the drive rather than from the DVDs. The question I have is whether I need to make separate partitions for each Mac I have from their original discs or whether I can use the same install discs for different Macs?

I use an External FW drive just like that, I have a partition that is the Installer 10.4 - it's so much faster than using the DVD's ! - and another which is a normal install which also has DMG's of our SOE for easily and quickly wiping machines and installing everything at once...
If you have a number of computers - I've got over 200 to look after - a FW drive with installs and soe's and Disk Utils is an absolute must have !

One Image for dual and single processor G5 machines

I'm working in a lab that has both single and dual processors G5 machines. There is only one image for both machines and I suspect that we have a few bugs with the single processor machines because of this. Has anyone else used one image for both single and dual processors? Have there been problems. I'm wondering if it is necessary to create two separate images.

There is not difference in the images, but you might have problems with the single G5 machines and 10.4. Did you do the firmware upgrade?
I have ~10 single G5 and 25 dual D5 machines netinstalled from one image without trouble.

Script : Crops and name one image

Hello there,
I'm completely new with scrip on photoshop.. I know there is a way to use one image for different crops and name them. There is no batch involve.
Which means :
-Click on the script, a croping open, crop it, got a message saying if the crop is okay, click okay, then a box open, you can choose a name and save, then it follows by two others similar crops.
Sorry, not easy to explain. Is that a plug or a script? or both?
I basically end up using one image for 4 different crops and names, with a file saving like ??_xx_xx_xx_?? (?? : the name I selected, xx : the name of the image)
How to code this, is anyone knows?

While program knowledge would enable you to create a fully automated process you can do what you want to do with an action without any programming. It can not be done without thinking and planing. While recording an action is extremely easy to do. Crafting an action like you described takes some knowledge, planning, skill and practice.
Adobe forums like this one is a good place to acquire missing knowledge. There are many here with a lot of knowledge that are willing to help other learn.

As I wrote I would have no problem crafting an action like you want. However if I do you learn very little and I think perhaps I just been used. If you have a problem recording the action you can ask how would some one do this or that. Then perhaps many would respond with how they woul do something. You and otheres would see how other do something. Some of the ways may be better the others. You can take your pick. The important to to me is knowledge is being learned and spread. Photoshop help and support is the pits one of the best Photoshop resources at you disposal are these Adobe forums.
Now I'm going to ask you a favor. Please start a new thread in the Photoshop General Discussion forum where you ask for help crafting the action you want. Start be describing the action you want in great detail. Also please read the text file in may crafting action package. They are written for the advance action creator short perhaps and cryptic but they detail some of the capability of the Actions Palette, contains some good guide lines to follow. Address the issue of document size a problem area many have problem with, It also provide some script written to be used within Actions so the action creator can record better action with some logic in them without the need programming the script.

How do you expect anyone to help when we don't know a darned thing about the file, abut your setup, exact version of Photoshop and your OS, machine specs, etc.?

A simple Paste does not work for you?
It should place the clipboard content as a new Layer which you can then move around.
If there is any chance that the elements need to be scaled, rotated etc. I would prefer to place them as Smart Objects (File > Place …) and do the masking that is specific to the images themselves in those.

Using multiple snapshots of one image

I am trying to create a collage using mutiple snapshots of one image (essentially different colours). Having difficulty using the snapshots? New to Lightroom today, so hopefully there is a simple solution.

You could try using virtual copies. I often make a VC for a black and white version; so it would work the same for your different colors. You create a VC simply by selecting a thumbnail using the menu:
Photo >> Create Virtual Copy
You can make as many as you wish, and they do not duplicate the files on your hard drive – they are stored in the catalog as metadata.

S205 - Steps to create a bootable USB drive using One Key Recovery (OKR) for backup image.

I just got my new S205. I am wondering how to backup the Windows OS including all factory settings to a bootable USB drive using One Key Recovery (OKR) 7.0. Basically I am afriad one day, my harddrive is failed or if I want to replace harddrive, I can reimage the harddrive back to factory setting and its OS (win 7). Would you share with me on the steps to do so?
I opened the OKR software and click on "Create Recovery Disk" -> "Factory Default Setting Disk" and Next, I couldn't see my USB drive? any one knows why?

New S205 owner.

I was able to do this, but it required reconfiguration of the HDD in my S205 (320 GB hard drive).
I used the built-in Windows Disk Management tool to shrink the size of my C: drive to 56,320 MB. [To accomplish this, I had to disable hibernation, and disable the swap file on the C: drive; and then re-enabled both after the process was complete.] 56,320 MB is more than enough space for the OS and all of the programs that I have installed (including the Professional version of Microsoft Office).
I then increased the size of the D: drive to 233,614 MB.
You can use different drive sizes, of course, but the D: drive must be of adequate size for the backup image.
Once the HDD is reconfigured, you can use One Key Recovery to backup your C: drive to your D: drive. From there, it can be copied to a USB (or copied across the network, etc. ... I've done both). Yes, it is 2 steps, but it's really easy.

Having one image below another using child index

I'm not too familiar with how I can use the getChildIndex() along with an if statement in a mouse_move event to make sure one image is always above the other or one is always on the bottom

Is it possible to use the mask from one image in other images?

Hello,
I'm prepping a product shot to send to a designer. I always create a mask to 'drop out' the background, so that the designer can pull the product into InDesgin without picking up any of the background.
I would like to send the designer 3-4 versions of the same shot, with small changes to the shadow detail etc., but I would rather not spend the time creating the same mask 3-4 times.
Is there a way to create a mask on one image, and then copy that mask and place it in the other choices? Its the exact same shot with the exact same crop so each image would be an exact duplicate.
I realize I could ask him to choose and mask his top choice, but there is a bit of a time crunch here and a few layers of people to make the final selection, so it would make everything I lot smoother if I could simply send him the finished product without creating a lot of back and forth.

If the images are exactly the same size then make sure the layer with the mask
is the active layer and in the other documents go to Select>Load Selection and choose
your document with the layer mask under Source document and under channel choose the layer mask.
After the selection loads press the layer mask icon at the bottom of the layers panel.

Use 'Find and Replace'>under the 'Edit' menu.
Select from 'Find in'- Folder and browse to the folder your website files are kept in to select it.
Search: Source Code
In the Find box (but obviously use YOUR image code):
<img src="images/imageName.jpg" width="200" height="200" alt="" />
In the Replace box: (use YOUR link and image code)
<a href="yourLink.html"><img src="images/imageName.jpg" width="200" height="200" alt="" /></a>
Then select 'Replace All'

Photoshop crashes while using multiple windows with one image

Has anyone else encountered the following problem:
Photoshop CS4 crashes sooner or later when working with multiple windows with one image (window->arrange->new window for...).
I remember having same problem since CS2. Is this a bug in Photoshop or am I having a bad luck?
Technical specifics:
Ps CS4, iMac, 21.5, 10.6

Don't know. I haven't heard of other people having that problem.
Do you have a crash report I could look at?
Or have you attached your email to crash reports sent to Adobe and can you tell me the date on one of them?
