Brasero doesn't see my drive, but PCManFM see it...

Hello
I just installed Brasero and I wanted to burn some audio CD but Brasero doesn't see my drive. It says that Brasero will drive my audio project to an iso file because it doesn't see my drive.
My drives works, I've installed Arch with it, PCManFM (my filemanager) see it, and see that I insert a Blank disk...
Any ideas ?
Thanks

The username and password for the share on your attached drive can be anything you want them to be. I assume you set up a share on the attached drive? That's where you need to add a password for the share, although for ease of use I never did assign a password to the shares.
You do know that the firmware for the Storage Link is buggy, right? File size limitations as well as file corruption issues? Connectivity issues also rise up, with the only workaround that I have found is a script that you have to run every time you boot up your computer. As far as I can see the Storage Link function is a poorly implemented idea. No firmware in sight to fix the issues, and no idea of when.

  • My new mac mini does not see usb drives, but in hardware info the usb is visible

my new mac mini does not see usb drives, but in hardware info the usb is visible
i'tried several usb flash drives even brand new ones, they are visible onder hardware info but they are not on the desktop nor in the finder.
what is wrong and doe anyone has a solution ?

It does not show up in disk utility, its only visible through systeminformation.
When you plug in the USB flash drive and then refresh systeminformation it becomes visible.
To remove it I shut down the computer because I cannot eject the USB device anywhere.
After starting up again when I have removed the flash drive it has gone from the systeminfo USB list.
By the way my USB mouse and keyboard are working fine, I also changed ports of these and they still keep on working so I don't think the USB ports are defect.
I guess it some kind software problem, and because I'm new to Apple I do not know much about it how to solve this.

  • Airport see the drive but "connection failed" when trying to connect.

    Hello everyone.
I connected a USB drive to my airport extreme. it does show in finder but whenever u try to access it I get the.
I can also see the drive in airport express utility but nothing shows up in Airport Disk Utility!
    Any ideas???

    Hello all-
I have the same problem. I have a WD 250GB My Book Drive (FAT32 Formatted). When I connect the drive to the AEBS, I get two problems:
    1) When I select the option to secure the disk with the Airport Base Station Password, and then enter the password when asked, I get an error "User ID and Password are incorrect." However, if I secure it with a disk password, there is no problem.
    2) My drive shows up as a Shared Drive in Finder, and I can read and write to it with no problems. However, it does not show up in the Airport Disk Utility as an Airport Shared Disk. Also, it does not show up in the menu bar either as a shared disk.
    Any ideas?

  • Airport Disk Utility Doesn't See External Drive, But Airport Utility Does?

Hey! I am a recent Apple convert and just got a brand new MacBook and Airport Extreme. I am trying to get my Maxtor OneTouch 320GB HDD to work with the Extreme, but to no avail. The Airport Utility sees my HDD, but the Airport Disk Utility doesn't? Any hints/tips on how to fix this problem? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

All I can think of is that the drive is formatted in NTFS which I have heard cannot be read by the AEBS(Airport Extreme Base Station), but I am confirming this right now in a different message. If you can copy the files, format your drive in HFS+(the Mac's standard file system), then reload the files. See if it works and reply back.

  • HT1589 I moved my Itunes files to a secondary drive but cant see all the songs

I moved my Itunes files to a secondary drive because my hard drive was full but now when I pull up itunes it only has my songs that were dowloaded none of my updoaded cd files are showing however all of the files are still in the folder.
I changed the location of the files under preferences but it does nto see them.
Do I have to add each file again to the Itunes library or is there another way to make iTunes recognize what is there?
    please advise
    thanks
    Shawn

If you copied over the whole iTunes folder then shift-starting-iTunes should allow you to get reconnected. If you only moved the iTunes Media folder then copy the main iTunes library folder to <Alt.Drive>\iTunes, move the media folder to <Alt.Drive>\iTunes\iTunes Media then open the library file <Alt.Drive>\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl.
If there are still tracks that can't be found then as long as there is some semblance of order my script FindTracks should have a reasonable stab at reconnecting things.

  • NAS200 - Can See Public Drive but not private

Recently, I purchased new Dell XPS and connected to my network.  I can "see" everything.  All computers are running Windows 7.  Home Premium on older ones and Professional on the new XPS.
Now the real problem...  when I connect to NAS with new XPS, I can only see the public share drive.  The private (backups of all my files) does NOT show.  I've compared and matched network settings.
    Any Ideas?
    Jeff

Log in to the NAS200 web interface and turn off the option "convert failed logins to guest logins".
    ===Jac
    Frequent NAS200 Answers:
    1. DISABLE the "convert failed logins to guest logins" option to fix permission problems.
    2. NEVER insert or remove hard disks while the power is on. NAS200 doesn't support hot swapping.
    3. ALWAYS use the power button to turn the NAS200 off, don't just unplug it.
    4. Don't trust RAID. Make BACKUPS!
    5. To ACCESS the disks directly, you will need ext2 and/or XFS file systems. I recommend using SystemRescueCD.
    6. Disks will get HOT with standard fan, use "green" disks or consider replacing the fan.
    7. FTP server is insecure and doesn't work behind a NAT router. Use my firmware and SCP instead.
    8. MY FIRMWARE supports SSH shell prompt and SCP for secure file access, and allows running other software.

  • Disk Utility can see my drive but not mount/repair a volume on that drive.

    Situation:
During a permissions repair on an external drive, the power went out.
Since then, it won't mount. It spins up, lights on etc, and the drive itself shows up in Disk Utility.
    The volume is greyed out.
When I select the greyed out volume and select INFO, I get:
         OWNERS ENABLED: NO
         CAN TURN OWNERS OFF: YES
I would think it was a permissions issue since the power went off during repair, and I'm hoping to force-repair permissions.
Tried Disk Warrior (v 4.4)... it mounted but I got this message (despite hardware being fine):
The directory cannot be rebuilt due to disk hardware failure (-36, 2747)
It's not a hardware issue; the drive is fine, it just won't mount.
    What I've done:
    Unplugged/replugged drive
Swapped out cables from a similar drive
Attempted Disk Utility on two laptops with same results
Booted from startup disk, ran DU, same results
    Ran Disk Warrior
The only way to get the drive to show up in Disk Utility is to open DU, then plug in USB. It shows up every time, but once I attempt something, I have to pull/replug USB.
I cannot make a disk image in Disk Utility.
I have another completely empty 3TB drive that I could back everything up to.
    Specs:
External drive, 3TB Western Digital, USB, HFS, no partitions.
    Lion, 10.7.3
Mac Pro, 6GB memory, Intel processor
Drive name "WD My Book 1130 Media", Volume "Big Boy"
    Suggestions?
    Any force-repair terminal stuff?
    Any software I'm not trying?
    Any tricks?
Let me know if I'm missing some helpful info; I've done screenshots of every message screen; two are included below.
    Thanks for any help!

    Try this:
Repair the Hard Drive - Lion
Boot from your Lion Recovery HD. When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select the desired hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.

  • Can't see shared music, but can see servers!

    Hiyas
I had to reinstall OSX last week. Everything went fine, but now, on iTunes, I can't see my music that is on another Mac anymore. Inside iTunes, I can see the other Mac and I can connect to it without an error. But once connected, iTunes doesn't let me browse any music.
I know that music exists there since I can easily connect to the iTunes server running there with my Soundbridges or even with Windows, just not with the Mac. I don't have a Firewall set and the problem appears both with WiFi and with wired ethernet. I can see the server in iTunes, I can connect to it, but thats it. I don't see any music there.
Does anyone know what's going on here?
    Best regards, Fuggs

    Both to varying degrees.
The idea is that iTunes Match puts a list of all your content on your device, but not the content itself. As you choose to play from the list it is then downloaded as required.
You can see which content is actually on your device by turning the ’Show all content' button I mentioned before to off.

  • IPhoto'11 - can't see camera pics but can see iPhone pics

When I opened my iPhoto couple of days ago I could see all my pictures (iPhone pictures and my (normal Nikon) camera pictures). When I opened iPhoto last night the only pictures I could see where my iPhone pictures but I couldn't see my camera pictures! I didn't update my computer or iPhoto in between so I am not sure what happened here?
Is there anybody that could advise me what happened and what should I do, please?
    Many thanks in advance!
    I have iPhoto 2011 9.4.2 version and OS X 10.8.2

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Can't see IMAP Messages but CAN see all folders and count

So I added my IMAP account to my iPhone. I've done it manually as well as by allowing iTunes to sync it for me.
I can see the IMAP folders just fine. I can also see the number of messages in the folder as well. My Inbox, for example, says there are 2 messages, 0 unread and this is correct. I can click on the "Load 2 more messages" message and it starts the "processing" wheel...the I'm checkin thing, but it stops and I can't actually see the message.
    Any ideas?

So did you find a resolution to this issue? I have
been trying but no luck thus far.
iMac G5, MacBook   Mac OS X
    (10.4.7)
Nah. No ideas on what's up.
Personally, since I can't move messages between accounts on the iPhone anyway (I use my IMAP as "Storage" between a desktop/laptop, etc.) it doesn't really matter at this point anymore.
All I've figured out how to do is to nuke the ones on my iPhone I don't want, leave the ones I want on there and then when I get home, they'll all show up as new messages in Mail and then I can play, etc.
'Eh...whatever. Not a terrible biggie to me anymore. I've learned to cope

  • Can See Home Share but cannot See Music

I have 3 computers that are all authorized and have home share running Windows XP. Currently my method of sharing music is using a windows share, but wanted to give home share a try. Comp1 is my master, Comp2 can see the home share, view, and copy just fine. Comp3 can see the home share but within a couple of seconds of clicking the home share it goes back to it's own music library with no error. If I access the same library(windows share) through the home share from Comp3 but going through Comp2 instead this works. I can also mount all the songs on Comp3 and see them from home share on Comp1. I can create a small library on Comp1 and this can be accessed through home share on Comp3. Anybody have a clue to why the full library cannot be accessed directly from Comp3 on Comp1?

I had this problem and after trying several suggested solutions, came up with the one that worked for me. My Windows firewall was not the problem, it was the ESET virus software firewall on my XP system. In order to see the shared libraries, I have to turn it off. After playing music, I need to turn it back on. Hope this helps!

  • Cannot see hard drives on airport extreme

Recently I cannot see hard drives on the network that are connected through Airport Extreme . The airport Extreme can see the drives, but the network cannot. I have not changed any settings that I know of. Only a reset of my macbook pro running Mavericks allows me to gives me access to the drives. Airport utility 6.3.2

+I will check when I get home. How do I do that?+
Connect the drive directly to a USB port on your Mac.
Then open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility
Click on the drive in left hand panel and look for information at the bottom of the window about the disk
Your drive may be formatted as Windows NFTS. If that's the case, you will need to reformat the drive to work at the USB port of the AirPort Extreme. Be sure to copy any data that you need to another drive (maybe twice to be sure) before you do this as the reformat will erase all data on the drive.
When you are ready, click the Erase tab and then select MS-DOS (FAT) as the format so both PCs and Macs will be able to read the files.
Then copy a small test file back over to the FAT drive and plug the drive into the USB port on the AirPort Extreme. Restart everything on your network starting with the modem first, then device attached to the modem, etc.
On you Mac, open Macintosh HD and check to see if your AirPort Extreme icon appears under the SHARED heading on the left side of the window. If so, click the icon and folder will appear to the right representing your drive. Double click this folder to reveal the contents and mount the drive on your desktop. You should see your test file. Make sure it is operable..music plays, video works, etc.
Sorry, I haven't used Windows in 3-4 years and cannot remember how to access drives, but I would start with My Computer and start poking around. You want to verify that your PC can access and play the files as well.
If everything is OK,you can copy all your backup files back onto the USB drive attached to the AirPort Extreme. Keep the extra backup copy handy for awhile, just in case as well.

  • Cannot see intrernal drive

Hi. I have my son's ibook g4. I can boot from an external drive, but cannot see the internal drive. It does not appear in Apple System Profiler. Further, while I can see the CD drive in the profiler, I cannot insert a disk so I cannot run a hardware test.
Is it possible that a CD is in the CD drive and I simply cannot see it?
Any ideas about the internal drive? Could the cable be bad?
    Thanks
    David

Is it possible that a CD is in the CD drive and I simply cannot see it?
Sure. Reboot the iBook while holding down the mouse 'clicker'. If there is a CD in the drive it will be ejected.

iLife is preinstalled on all the Macs. If you purchased iLife in the App Store or your computer came without DVDs, open App Store > Purchases and download the applications. If your Mac came with discs, insert the Applications DVD and install iLife applications
