Hi, I bought my iPad 2 in Brazil, but now I can't find a place in Germany where to afford a 3G simcard that fits in it. Can anybody help me, please =)

Now I purchased with the Chinese MachBook some books and cannot transfer the books to my German IPad,
but to the Chinese IPhone 5 it works as well. In the I Pad I see only the cover page.
But I will read the books on the I pad. What shall I do _

Using iPad 3G in Germany?

I purchased my 16GB 3G iPad 2 about 3 weeks ago here in the US. I bought the ATT version because i heard it was best for using 3g abroad. Im going to Germany for a month this summer and would like to be able to connect to 3g while traveling. Can somebody please explain how i am able to use 3g while in germany? Do i need to get a different micro sim card? Any details would be much appreciated. Thanks -Collin

IMHO, to simplify life and avoid roaming charges get a pre-paid micro-SIM card in Germany for the iPad and for which the carrier will provide iPad service.

They tell us since two years, they will wide out the LTE net and as far as I understand, iPad 3 does not support german LTE ever? Why did they sell it as Ipad 3 wifi & 4G? I can't use it?
I made a new contract and the LTE net is build out good in my area. Is there a way to use it now?

The 3rd-generation iPad was released with only Noth American LTE support. Early on, the iPad 3 was called WiFi + 4G but soon after, Apple clarified cellular connectivity outside of North America by rebranding the iPad WiFi + Cellular rather than WiFi + 4G to indicate that although the iPad was capable of 4G, it may not be available. Read the Wikipedia article on this.
So in short, you iPad does not and will never be able to connect to LTE in Germany. The mobile operators use different frequencies than are supported by your device.

I'm planning to buy an iPad 3 and bring it to Germany in April I want to get the 32GB WiFi/4G. Would I be able to at least use the 3G part of it in Germany? is the 4G a possibility?

well for starters I'm perfectly aware that the "NEW iPad" is not called iPad 3 but its the third reiteration of the ipad and it seems justified to call it that as apple essentially didn't give it a name. What are you going to call it when you try and sell it later on when you try and sell it? Like new "The New ipad"???
Anyways besides that thanks for your help as long as the 3G part of it works I'm perfectly content. Now is this because In the US we've adopted LTE?

Silent iPad 2 - recognize an inexisting headphone

Hello everyone,
My name it´s Pedro, i´m a brazilian iPad 2 user. First of all, sorry for the bad english.
I have a problem at my iPad 2speakers and maybe someone can help me.
I had no sounds at the speakers of my iPad, i do not hearing any sound of any app (noise of keyboard, notifications, musics played at ipod app etc).
But my speakers are ok. Because if i go to the settings, i can test the sound and i hear normaly.
The side button of mute it´s not at hte mute position.
And have more, the most weird staff of my problem.
I perceb that when i go and use the physical volume button it recognize like i´m using sume headphone at the iPad, but i do not. It´s like he think i had a headphone plugged, so do note make the sound at the speaker.
The problem appears at the IOS 4.3.3, yesterday, i make the upgrade to 5.0, and the problem persists.
Someone have an solution ? I do not want put my iPad at the technical assitance, at my country the TA´s it´s not so good.

Have you checked the headphone jack for debris? That can sometimes cause the iPad/iPhone/iPod to go into headphone mode.

Persistent Wi-Fi connection problem: How to get support?

I bought my iPad few days ago in Hawaii and returned home yesterday to Germany. I had connected Wi-Fi a few times at my B&B in Hawaii and it seemed to work. But now Wi-Fi connection with my iPad is a mess while connections with iPhone, MacBook Pro, PC at the same locations work very good.
I tried several solutions including those recommended by http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3304. Additionally I tried to manually assign IP to my iPad.
On different locations (i.e. airport, at home) the Wi-Fi connection indicator fluctuates and connection speed seems to drop down. Just right now connection is lost approx. every 5 - 15 minutes. Switching Wi-Fi off and reconnecting sometimes helps but sometimes I have to wait some 5 or 15 minutes until Wi-Fi works again. Sometimes I even have to reset all connection data. When Macbook, iPhone or Windows PC show me 10 available Wi-Fi networks the iPad may only list 2 or 3.

"If after attempting the troubleshooting tips provided above you are still having difficulty connecting to a network please contact Apple."
I called your support phone number 1-800-275-2273 several times from Germany but each time the system tried to connect me to an iPad advisor the call didn't go through.
Several tries to open a case via http://www.apple.com/support/expert/ failed. After filling out the form the website just tells me: "We're sorry, but we are unable to complete your request at this time. Please try again in a few minutes or start over now." Next try same result.

I called the given German technical support number but Apple Support denied support and instructed me to reset the iPad to it's original state. Resetting the iPad did not resolve the problem.
German Support told me she has no information ("no email received") about http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3304. She told me Apple Support in Germany will not give any else support prior to official start of iPad availability in Germany. But when German Apple Support is not even aware of that problem Apple posted on the support site how would they support me?
How do I get support to resolve that issue?

I configured my router to only use 802.11b and 802.11g and NOT 802.11n. It seems like my iPad keeps steady connection with two or three bars and recovers good from sleep mode since about half an hour sigh But I would like to use it also at hotspots... and would like to enjoy appropriate speed when transfering files or watching videos

Siri is currently only available on the iPhone 4s. The new iPad has a dictation function (Settings > General > Keyboards > Dictation), but it doesn't have Siri.

Going to Europe soon - can I buy a SIM in Europe to fit my ATT 5s or do I need to have the phone unlocked?

Thanks to you both. I thought as much so I'll simply bring my unlocked 4s. What I did find really cool was that I could buy a SIM for my (ATT) Ipad 4 in Germany (O2) for month to month then used their teathering feature GREAT for up to 5 items and up to 5.5GB at 25 Euro

Buying Numbers (preferred german language) with a german App Store acc.

I have the following prolbem:
I just buyed an iPad and want to install Numbers. Just like in the demo version of iPad in the Apple Store and i got confronted with this error message:
country not supported.
I thought. Okay. I just do an US Store with my Credit Card. But this wont work because of some bank data verification. Well it's a german credit card (FYI: VISA and MasterCard did not work).
So I'm asking you. How to get Numbers without waiting until iPad release in germany (implying that the iPad Appstore and iPad release in germany is in the same time!).

Sorry, but you will have to wait until the German App Store offers it.
If you would be satisfied with the English version AND you have a US issued credit card AND are able to use the US store, then you can buy Numbers from the US store.
Otherwise, you will have to wait.

HT201272 Why can I buy movies on the Brazilian Store, but then there is no way to re-download them. I restored my iPad backup from iCloud and all Movies I Payed for are gone. Unbelievable

I needed to restore my iPad contends and settings, and i was using iCloud backup, but there is no way to re-download any movies I already bought on the Brazilian iTunes store, not that I was able to discover.
All instructions where to the American one, that is slightly different. On this f****ng country(Brasil) I can only re-download music. Very sad.
Is there another way to get my content back without having to pay all over again?
If there is no way to re-download it then don't bother to offer the buy option, or put a warning there that if you someway lost your copy that you would have to pay to download it again. I'm really p****ed with this situation.
First the Apple TV doesn't even have the buy option, so i had to buy and download on the iPad and use airplay to watch it on the TV, and now it's simple gone.
This titles are almost the same price than a BD, if I had the patience to go out and buy it on a store I still would be able to watch it.

Re-downloading of films is currently only available in the US (due to film studio restrictions), and not all films can be re-downloaded there as not all film studios are allowing it. Have you not got a copy of them on your computer and/or on a backup ?
